I dined here for dinner with a friend on April 26th, and the food was okay. We shared the mussels (which were subbed for shrimp and scallops that night), which was the best thing we ordered; it was still missing a little something flavor-wise, but good. The beet salad left a lot to be desired regarding flavor- it felt like it wasn't seasoned at all. My friend ordered the tuna melt, and she described it as "not what she expected," and my burger (I forgot the name) again lacked seasoning. We wanted to try something new in uptown so we decided to give this place a try. We reviewed the yelp comments and photos and were convinced that it was a fine dining establishment. They were charging fine dining prices where entrees started at $35 a plate. I consider myself a decent home chef, but I do enjoy foods provided by classically trained chefs and their exploration of flavors. It was a ghost town on a Friday night. The interior was barren with single sprigs of eucalyptus in a tiny glass. The ambience was not warm nor inviting. It felt solitary. I ordered the salmon and my husband ordered the scalloped risotto and a beer. They charged $13 for a can of beer which is outrageous. I had hoped the food was good despite and thought perhaps they were cost saving on their interior. We received our food in about 15 minutes. My salmon looked like it was cut in half and not a full strip like the one in the photos. The top of the salmon had a glazed crispy layer and was on a bed of chopped onions, tomato, and zucchini. The salmon was so bland and overcooked it made me sad. It tasted like it had been frozen for some time and tasted extremely low quality. The vegetables were also bland and a lot of the onion pieces were stuck together, not even fully cut. Who does that? My husband's plate wasn't better. The shrimp were overcooked and had the shell on, the risotto was nowhere close to being authentic (it tasted like steamed rice and they just threw sauce on top). My husband commented that there wasn't much on his plate and that the scallops were shredded inside the rice. Who shreds scallops? That is strange in fine dining. Sadly, I could have done a lot better at home, in my own kitchen. Inferior ingredients, no flavor, and sloppy presentation were nowhere near the price point. We left hungry, will not be back. read more

First time trying this place and it was amazing! The atmosphere was fantastic, the waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the wine selection. We started with the bacon small plate. I was sorely disappointed after reading the rave reviews. I ordered the duck confit as was suggested by the server while my husband had the chicken sandwich. They were generous with French fries which covered half the plate but they had been REFRIED so parts were crunchy but the wedges of potatoes were quite dry. The duck was also dry and quite salty - it was obviously pre-cooked and then reheated. The rice that the duck was sitting on was overcooked and as soft as mush. This is far from French Cooking!! The food was excellent. I had the chicken schnitzel sandwich. My beer was also good. My girl didn't get ice in her water. My cup of water smelled like egg, so I just drank my beer. I went here last night with my wife and the menu/food was very misleading. I ordered an Estrella Galicia but on the menu it doesn't list that it's 0.0% alcohol. They charged me for it anyway. Secondly, the steak frites doesn't list the amount of oz for the cut. I got my plate with a tiny cut of meat and the majority of the plate was fries. Mind you, this was $37. Lastly, I asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare and it came out rare. Total bill was over $100 for my wife and I. Prices and quality here are not justifiable. read more

Heard about this place from a friend and drove all the way out from La Crescenta to attend the soft opening. Usually a soft opening is pretty rough with lots of kinks to work out, but every dish we ordered was absolutely scrumptious. So wish that we lived closer. We would be going here regularly for sure. The food was amazing. The deviled eggs are a delight. The details in the food and some of the unique items were surprising and really made the meal. Little things like the warm, crispy and buttery croutons in the caesar salad. The fries were an awesome texture and flavor, likely because of whatever oil or fat or both they were cooked in, really unique flavor and texture profile for fries that you might take for granted with a meal. The steak frites was awesome, cooked perfect, a great cut and the marrow butter is bananas. The chicken schnitzel sandwich was such a unique item and had a great mix of flavors and textures. The pairings of non alcoholic beverages, the beer & wine, with the menu was perfect too. I don't think they make anything not delicious and I want to try it all. We ordered the Brussel sprouts from the "small bites" section of the menu and, OMG, they were the best I have ever had. Our entrees were the filet mignon and the skirt steak with fries.
