Decided to try out this local neighborhood joint on a whim while visiting some attractions in the area. We were overall underwhelmed by the experience. First off, the menu selection proved to be extremely meager, both for the appetizers and the entrees. For the entrees, there were only 2 options for burgers, along with some basic sounding sandwiches and a steak option. I understand that this is a sports bar, but even with this qualification, the limited options seemed preposterous. We ended up ordering the brisket chili as a starter, which came with a side of cornbread. The bowl was the size of a cauldron that could feed an army. The chili was palatable for the first couple of bites (perhaps because we were starving) but after the fourth spoonful, it became monotonous and nauseating. In a belated effort to cleanse our palate from the chili, we ordered the shoestring fries, which was an unmitigated disaster. The fries were both terribly undercooked and limp. Deciding to skip on the entrees, we packed up our bags and made a run for the door. read more

So I pick this place based on reviews and the menu. I got their french onion soup and pulled port quesadilla along with a cocktail. We go here fairly regularly. The staff is always very nice and friendly. The beers are decent. I like when they have a couple European selections other than the wheat beer. The wings are excellent every time as are the french fries. The steak is always good with a house made bordelaise sauce. The first time I came here, the experience was great, only thing I could complaint about was it being too loud but it was okay. Today 1-12-19 I came back hoping for the experience to be good and it turned out to be the worst experience I've ever had. I walked in with a party of 4 and we weren't greeted, no one came and bought us the menus and so we had to go up to the bartender and ask her for a menu and she walked over to us and said she didn't have a drink menu and had the audacity to say we have tea. It was so rude because it's a bar and we obviously came to have a drink not to drink tea, if that was the case I would've gone to a dinner. I will never come back to this place ever again. Wonderful local Pub that serve excellent food. They have 12 yummy beers on tap. The Bronx pale ale is always on the money. Always very clean. The owner is also very friendly and accommodating. The stuffed cheese burger is a home run! Love this place. PS the bar maids are nice too! read more

But here you can actually have a good conversation with your friends over a beer or 2. I ordered the burger which was delicious, but had to knock down a star because they cooked my burger to medium when I ordered it medium rare. I love this place but the fact that we waited an hour and a half for our food to find out our food wasn't being delivered and given no reason why then I had to go walk and get it since no other place was open is infuriating. Also, we were charged twice from Uber eats that we placed the order through and now have to go through a whole process to dispute it. All the food was cold when we picked it up. Not the restaurants fault but this was the experience. I think for a business to be working with Ubereats they should call if there is any issues especially if food is sitting at the restaurant for that long. Or at least offer to re make the food but we were already agitated that we didn't want to ask. For the food everything was good after it was microwaved except the chicken fingers. My boyfriend didn't like them, they are more like chicken tenders then fingers. Also we asked for them to be dipped in sauce and they didn't do it. read more

Especially the chefs special - rice balls stuffed with crabmeat, they were deep fried but not oily at all- very crispy and delicious ! The burgers were prepared exactly as ordered - medium rare ! The service was excellent - very efficient - the server was most friendly and helpful and the busboys removed dishes promptly. This place was good! I ordered a veggie burger with fries, and my partner got the crab cake sandwich with fries. The fries were pretty good, thin and crispy and well seasoned. My veggie burger was delicious, it the patty was clearly made fresh, i took a peek and it had peas and other veggies visible. The grilled onions and peppers added a nice kick to the sandwich. I took a bite of my partners crab cake sandwich and it was superb. I'm originally from Virginia and am used to fresh, Chesapeake crab meat, and this certainly did not disappoint. The patty was thick and contained lump crab meat, with balanced seasoning. The mixed greens and aioli complimented the patty well. We will definitely be going back! read more

The customer service is horrible! I ordered through UberEATS with the intent that I will get a good experience. WRONG! First off I ordered a stuffed cheeseburger and buffalo wings and received quesadillas and Mac n cheese with pork bacon all on top. When I called the girl told me to call Uber because I ordered through them. Why? Uber isn't the restaurant nor did they make the order receipt Stephanie did and when I tried to speak to a manager she claimed she doesn't know where he is because it's busy. Bullshit! Then told me that they redid my order and that it was on its way and never arrived. Uber refunded me the whole amount but it's the restaurant that should be at fault. What a great experience! We had my son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner party here, and it couldn't have been better. Easy walking distance from the Manhattan College chapel where the wedding was held. The owner, Steve, was great to work with, and was extremely accommodating from the first time we spoke. He was always readily available by phone and/or e-mail, and he went out of his way to make sure everything was just how we wanted it. He is very knowledgeable about types and amount of food needed for that size event, and he made great recommendations that made everything easy for us. He reserved the whole place for us on a Friday evening which made for an awesome party, where everyone could mingle and have an opportunity to talk with one another. The bartenders and food servers couldn't have been nicer, despite how busy they were. And the food was absolutely delicious!! The chef really outdid himself! We are still getting complements from our guests about the delicious food, the great service, and the terrific atmosphere of this venue. (They even kept the leftover food refrigerated for us, so we could pick it up after the wedding and take it home!) Thanks so much, Steve, for all that you and your staff to did make our event so special, I would highly recommend the Blackstone Bar & Grill for hosting an event like ours, for catering a home event, or for just dropping in for a casual dinner (which is how we first discovered it).
