Moved to the area and had high hopes, only to be disappointed. Walked in, immediately see a big dude in the kitchen stuffing his face with food, while making pizzas. Gross. The place was empty on a Friday night, that should have been my first clue. After we ordered our pepperoni, black olive pizza and garlic knots we sit down in their run down dining area. Most of the Parmesan cheese containers were near empty, what else are you people doing? There is no one there! Fill the jars! Staff came and said that they accidentally only had 5 garlic knots instead of 6 so they threw in a breadstick (fine whatever), but when they came all the knots were burned. Again, gross. Pizza arrives greasy as all heck, and the gal hands us each one flimsy paper plate. Really? We asked for more, so we didn't soak the table. Pizza wasn't terrible but not really that great either. Watched the guy who was eating in the kitchen earlier... go outside, come back in and kick a packet of cheese under a table instead of picking it up. Gross. While we are eating most of their staff sit down to a table and start eating in the dining area. Not professional and ask from their table how the food is. Again yuck. Pizza delicious! So many kinds of pizzas and unique flavors too! We've been here twice now wish we found it earlier! We had the Greek Pizza Pathniakos very tasty, not too cheesy, and great crust! I didn't know my family was ordering pizza from here. We got it delivered from their home and they did all the ordering. I didn't know what they ordered or what was even on the menu here. I was just surprised by how good it was and how special each pizza was. The menu is really fun and they have some surprising toppings on there. My family ordered the Street Taco, Shrimply delicious, and the whole schmear. The street taco was my favorite of the three. With the salsa poured on it tasted like a great taco with pork, avocado, cheeses and onions on it. The dough was good but felt it could be slightly better. The whole schmear is the supreme pizza here with tons of toppings. I really liked the creativity of the pizzas here. The large overwhelming sizes and top notch ingredients. Next time I return I want to order The Dr Island Style, Man O War, and The Grizz. Recommendation: The Street Taco was my favorite of the evening. Get extra salsa! read more

Food came out too slow. Ordered through Uber and it took 1 1/2 hours for a pizza, 2 salads, and a philly sandwich. All of which was very cold when we received it. The Philly cheesesteak was really salty too. When I called the business, the person that answered was not apologetic and just said they can't do anything about the wait time. I'm not that happy with my order at Blackstone. Although the people eating the pizza enjoyed it (had it delivered to CSU San Marcos), the pizza came almost 35 minutes late to the meeting. As you can imagine, we had over 40 people very hungry and had to wait. The Blackstone Pizza management, didn't contact me or try to apologize for the situation (at least not yet). Ordered online through GrubHub. Order was for 18" Meat Lovers Pizza and 12 Piece Garlic Knots and came to about $28. Was given ETA of 20-30 Minutes. Upon getting there we had to wait 15 extra minutes for them to prepare the garlic knots as they were barely putting the pizza in the oven when the place is empty. Checked the out to find they burned them to all hell and pizza was seriously lacking in toppings. Knots weren't too great either just tastes like normal bread. For $28 I'm extremely disappointed and would suggest people be better off ordering elsewhere. Just feel that for the price they could put in some more effort instead of dishing out the bare minimum which in my case was burnt knots and a half-naked pizza. Won't be coming back to this greasy inflated crap. Expectation vs Reality Meme Update: Checked the app to find out they don't bother to close order. Now an hour after picking up and still active. Haven't been here in a long time. I was passing by and decided to get some slices for lunch. It was well during peak lunchtime hours and they only had 2 cheese slices left. Dang. I got those to go and did not expect much. I did a quick reheat at home and as slices go they where pretty good. No hint of sauce but that always happens to slices. I remember the sauce being good. I would definitely try this place again. Marked down because the display case where they have the slices looked pretty run down. Definitely needs a cleaning. read more

Solid pizza. Tried the Twice the Spice and really liked it. The staff was very friendly and polite. The place was packed with high school kids (Sat night) so we got our pie to go. The pizza here is awesome and the wings are the best in San Marcos. There is one young man who works here who seems to hold it all together. The problem is that if that kid isn't working, the whole place falls apart. The owner enlists his family to help and though kind and friendly, they seem completely overwhelmed. If I have an order that says it will be ready in a half hour window and I show up at the end of that window, I expect it to be ready...but if that guy isn't here, someone will confusedly tell me "we are working on it...15min." I really would love to give five stars because the food is awesome, but cannot until they hire enough people to run a bit better a bit more often. Good news is that they are hiring! The pizza was really good and the toppings were spread evenly throughout but what impressed me the most were the wings!!! I saw them tossing the wings in sauce and packed it up for me and I expected soggy wings when I got home. It was perfectly crispy and it wasn't super drenched in the sauce, as if it just got soaked up by the wings! Blackstone has been my favorite pizza since 2011. My girlfriend and I love coming here. Their pizza crust is very fresh, doughy and unique, and their pizza sauce isn't sour and nasty like everyone else's. Their pepperoni, sausages, and other toppings taste premium and not artificial. I've never had a problem with bland CO2 levels or improper syrup mixes from their soda fountain. Other restaurants should take note of this. You won't hear any corporate mandated greetings here or any of that upselling/suggestive selling nonsense. The people working here are genuine and it's refreshing.
