This is my now new favorite place to go when dining without my kids. Food , atmosphere and service all on the mark. It's nice to know that there is a nice place within Fort Myers without having to drive to Naples . The atmosphere reminded me snit of NYC and or Miami dining. Although housed in a small, slightly cramped space, Blanc distinguishes itself with style and artistic presentations. Standout dishes included the tuna cones, classic caesar salad, and gorgonzola and pear salad. The rock crab claw and Nigerian prawn tower is dramatic, and the prawn is delicious. The cod "Blanc" could have been seasoned better, and the the calamari with yuzu lemon caper butter sauce needed more acid. The caviar presentation (not cheap, but worth it) was superb. The desserts, however, fell a bit short of expectation, with the iced key lime souffle overly bitter (too much zest?) and not having enough citrus punch, and the chocolate mousse lacking the chocolate intensity one would would expect. The excellent service (our waitress was Bree) and meticulous leadership of the chef, Jean Claude, make this a welcoming venue with panache. If you're looking for a unique small-plate experience, this should be your destination (and it's far superior to it's paltry competitor down the road- Azure). read more

Magnifique! It is very difficult to find good food or restaurants in SWFL. But when I do, I have to pay a compliment! This restaurant is run by a husband and wife and when you walk in, you are greeted like family. I ordered the filet medallions in a demi glace and peppercorn sauce with mashed potatoes. Both melted in my mouth like butter! The French onion soup was both rich and sweet just like the delicious fruit dessert I ordered, Clafouti! As always, I like to report if this is ADA accessible and it is not, unfortunately. read more

Fantastic! A great little spot with wonderfully eccentric atmosphere and a tight, well constructed menu which changes often. Can't go wrong, a good date spot or for small groups. The service is attentive, and they obviously care about what's coming out of the kitchen. We love this place. We've been here numerous times and each time is wonderful. The atmosphere is fun, the staff is super helpful and nice, and the food is delicious. They offer entrees on the menu that are fairly small, good for sharing. The specials are always very large portions, however, especially when they offer the surf and turf with gigantic prawns. Extensive wine list. The fish special is always excellent, and the French onion soup is a classic of theirs. Desserts are very rich and tasty. A small but stellar Tapas restaurant was tucked away in a plaza in Fort Myers. We had a fabulous experience at this hidden gem. Christian was our waiter who did a fantastic job guiding us th the delicious menu. He also helped us make a great wine selection from their eclectic mix of wines. We started out sharing the cheese plate, Oysters Rockefeller and Octopus. Each item was brought at an appropriate pace. The owner also delivered food items and explained each one. The next round of food delivered was deep fried beets, roasted Brussel sprouts, salmon trio, prawns, corn with queso. We decided to fit in desert as we knew it would be just as yummy as dinner. The desserts we choose were Creme Brûlée and Flan with caramel. We are looking forward to our next visit! read more

My wife and I dined here this past Friday, and we absolutely loved this restaurant. We live five minutes from Blanc, but have never had the opportunity to eat there, but I assure you that we will add it to our rotation. It's a bit hard to find as it is tucked away next to Prawnbroker and Stillwater Grill. Parking in season is no fun, either. However, once you enter the door the experience begins. We sat at the chef's counter which gave us a front side seat to the proceedings. The French-born chef/owner was a delight as he paraded the evening specials in front of our eyes. Giuseppe, our waiter, also provided excellent service throughout the night. We started with oysters covered in cheese and butter and a beet salad. The oysters were of excellent size, and melted in the mouth. My wife loved her salad; one of the best she has ever had. I, myself, am not a beet fan, but even I must admit it was good. For mains, I had the asian sea bass. I cleaned the plate, and could have eaten more. My wife had a pork cop that she raved about, and took half home for our son to try. It didn't last long. Chef Jeane Claude recommended a voignier to go with both the fish and pork; I was skeptical, but it worked! For desser, we shared the frozen key lime souffle with coffee and sauternes dessert wine. No complaints, here, either. For the price paid I would rate this meal as one of the best values in town. read more

Where to begin???? I took my son to Blanc to celebrate a new job offer and I DON'T BELIEVE I HAVE EVER HAD A WORSE DINING EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE! We arrived for our reservation and were seated promptly. We perused the menu and put in an appetizer order for a fried calamari special and tuna cones. Both were poorly conceived and executed dishes. The fried calamari arrived on 3 small skewers with a yuzu butter sauce on top that rendered the fried calamari (which was small and tough) mushy and greasy. Yuck. Even worse were the tuna cones! Two small cones arrived with diced tuna, red pepper, and other filler. The tuna was fishy - perhaps the red pepper and other filler was there to completely mask it - and this all was SATURATED in a soy and rice vinegar sauce. I have eaten all over the world and have had diced ahi dishes many places - this might be the worst. I am aware that the tuna mixture is usually made during prep a few hours before service, however this seemed as if it had been prepped days ago - and poorly. We had just finished these disastrous appetizers when one of the tomahawk specials was being delivered to a neighboring table. The chef/owner is clearly trying to appeal to the Instagram crowd, as the chop comes on a giant slab, cut off the bone with the bone arched over the plate with sauce ramekins flanking it and no lip on the slab - AND A SPARKLER GOING OFF IN THE MIDDLE. Again, what could go wrong. As the waiter set this slab down, the arched bone toppled over and sent 3 sauce ramekins flying off the slab and they splattered next to us. Sauces covered the floor under our table and got on my pants and feet and my sons shoes. The manager came over and cleaned up under the table and wiped up my pants while apologizing slightly but shrugging her shoulders and saying "accidents happen" (she did later offer to pay for the dry cleaning). A totally ill-conceived presentation in a tiny restaurant. IT GETS BETTER (aka worse for us). The waitress came over and asked for our main course order and after going through 5 specials we settled on the veal chop (which we were told was $40) with a side of miso brussel sprouts. The chop arrived (we had to ask again about the sprouts) and was magnificent. An excellent bone-in cut, perfectly medium, a delicious porcini demi-glace. One of the best veal chops I have had. The risotto that came with it was luke-warm and overcooked. The sprouts were ok - over-fried, but decent flavor with the miso. We were prepared to chalk this up as a divisive meal, and a place we would unlikely return to. However, the waitress came to clear and asked how everything was. I said the appetizers were not very good but the veal chop was outstanding. She came back with the check and everything we ordered was included on the bill but the chop was listed at $64. When I called the waitress over and pointed this out she agreed that she had told us it was $40 and she would see what the issue was. She spoke with the manager and chef/owner Jean Claude and returned saying "I'm sorry but he said $64 is the price - I told him that I quoted you $40 and its my fault. I could give you a dessert to take home." I worked in restaurants many years ago, and additionally in all my years of dining I have NEVER seen a manager or owner take this stance. I explained that nowhere are the specials listed or priced, we were quoted $40, and certainly in light of the almost inedible appetizers and being spilled on that we were not paying $64 for the chop. She returned to the kitchen. THEN the chef/owner aggressively comes out of the kitchen and in the middle of the restaurant leans over towards us and screams "I HAVE TAKEN CARE OF YOUR MEAL. NO CHARGE, BUT I DON'T EVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN. GET OUT!!!! CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS KING BULLSHIT." Shocking and absurd. There are plenty of hard-working folks with good restaurants in Fort Myers that care about food and service. Don't give this guy your money. read more

The fruit dessert was delicious. The Brussels sprouts with bacon were to die for!! And the chicken was tender and great flavor. The sauce too, definitely yummy. I would give 3 stars because we primarily went there for the French onion soup and were sorely disappointed. Honestly not a place I'll probably be returning as it wasn't notable. My husband and I went to celebrate Valentine's Day, on the 15th, and everything was great. We had to sit at the bar, which we thought was a bad location, but turned out to be great. Got to say that bite for bite eating at Blanc was one of the best food adventures ever. This place has been only open a couple of months and has a great following. Many of the appetizers and "almost-entrees" are prepared using a robata grill which sears the flavor in. We had the tuna cones, lamb lollipops and a BLTe, all were great. The brussel sprouts miso were great. We normally pass on deserts, but the mousse was hard to say no to. I had some with a Malbec prepared in a port fashion. The staff is attentive and quickly replaces plates as new items are brought out. The space is small, but it was fun to talk to and see what the others were eating. Service was incredible. We came in around 9pm on a Sunday and it was close to closing (we didn't know). And you wouldn't have known it. Our waiter (stone) was in no rush, nor was the kitchen. Had the grouper and the chocolate mousse. Both were awesome. read more

The four of us chose to start with escargots (2), followed by their giant prawn & crab craw appetizer (worthy of a picture but we dived in instead of photographing), next two orders of lamb lollipops with the brussel sprouts (both we had enjoyed before and didn't want to miss), washed down with a merlot and finished off with an order each of creams brûlée and chocolate mousse. We came here for coffee and dessert after dinner at a nearby restaurant and we enjoyed it so much that we're already planning our return for dinner later in the week! The dining area is cozy with an open kitchen and chic simple decor. We each got a cappuccino to sip on and decided to each get a different dessert. I got the mousse au chocolat, my husband a crepe like torte with fresh berries and our daughter the crème brûlée. All 3 desserts were delicious and there were many more to choose from that we'll have to try in the future. The crème brûlée had the perfect crack when tapped with a spoon! We briefly chatted with the owner who was very personable and let us know that reservations are generally recommended because the seating is limited. I don't do many five star reviews (especially in Fort Myers), but this place deserves it. The wine list was solid and very reasonable. The entrées are small (they call them "not quite entrées"), more like large tapas dishes, but filled me up nonetheless. The quality, presentation, and flavor of the food was outstanding. The service was impeccable. The space is a little tight, but upscale and inviting. The owner, Jean Claude, was an integral part of the show; working the prep area and chatting with patrons throughout the evening. The tab was very reasonable, less than I would expect to pay for an experienced of this caliber. My only regret is that I was too full to enjoy any of their desserts, which I hear are remarkable. Some attention for food allergies would be more than welcome. After lots of insisting and confirmation from the waiting staff, my wife received a plate that contained gluten... we exchanged our dishes To resolve. My dish wasn't GF as well, so my wife ended up sick all night and is still now, the day after. Waiters/waitresses should know about ingredients in the dishes or they should ask in the kitchen. We had everything from cerviche to the waygu sliders and everything was great. The best part is that all of this fare was at a very reasonable price. The drink menu is also an amusement. The only ding I could give Blanc is that is is very small and I can see parking being an issue on a busy night (We were here on a Monday, so neither was a factor for us). True gem of a restaurant! Exciting menu focused on sampling and sharing. Focused small wine list that's well thought out and priced right. Incredibly well-appointed dining room including an inviting "bar" that surrounds the Robata grill and kitchen. Casual, friendly staff. Lots of high points on the menu. Personal favs are the artichoke hearts, fennel oysters, waygu sliders and chicken confit. But really there isn't anything on the menu that I wouldn't order again.
