Came here before a few years ago but this time around, we ordered through UberEats instead of dining in. While staying at SeaCrest, this restaurant is conveniently located right next to the hotel. Decided to get UberEats and there was a BOGO for their pepperoni pizza. My sister wanted the Pismo Smash Burger so we ordered that as well. The food was available in 10 minutes which was so fast! The pepperonis pizza was so worth it as it was ~$16 for (2) pizzas, 8 slices each. While the deal was worth it, our stomachs suffered as it was quite salty. The dough wasn't too oily which was appreciated but there was way too much salt on top of the pepperoni which is quite oily. My sister did enjoy her hamburger as it was quite loaded. We got the fries on the side (forced us to get a side which was $1 extra). The fries were also wayyy too salty and we had to down it with water. Regardless, this restaurant is quite convenient if you are staying along the coast next to Pismo Beach. Parkin can be rough as it's shared with the hotel but I can see why this place is popular, especially during SuperBowl Sunday or if you want to watch sports in general. The restrooms were clean, there's that. We decided to try them because they seem to be gobbling up all the local restaurants and they are popular. My husband, who is a child at heart, loves chicken strips and I had mentioned they were on the menu, so we tried them last night. I ordered fish & chips, my reasoning being, it's hard to screw them up. I have to say the fish itself was tasty but the breading was overly thick and fell off easily. I had to ask for cocktail sauce, no biggie. The fries were, weirdly, tough and oversalted for my taste but there were a lot of them, so there's that. The tiny cup of coleslaw was basically mayo, and lots of it and a bit of slaw mix. My husband's chicken strips were breaded with the same stuff they used on the fish. Again, the chicken was actually good under the thick coating, white meat, tender and moist. The service was not good. Very slow even though the restaurant was pretty empty. The server, although nice, didn't pay attention to my husband's request for more bbq sauce until he asked the second time. The table was strangely sticky, what's up with that? It's a sports bar, if you are into that kinda thing, we're not. It wasn't overly noisy but I would assume on a Friday, Saturday it would get extremely noisy. It was very expensive for what we got, $65.00 with tip. WOW. We would not go back, nor would we recommend it. My husband's comment was "I got better chicken strips at Arby's for a fraction of the cost!" But that's just us. Lots of people love it. read more

Usually when you take in a high calorie brewery menu, it's a mindful trade off: big flavor to offset high kcals and of course, the $$$. We found a lot of the food beautifully presented and disappointingly bland. We ordered nachos, Mac & Cheese, kids chicken, bbq chicken pizza, jalapeño burger and street corn. Pizza had a great crust, but was super oily- maybe from the bacon? Not sure, but it was pooling with glistening oil above and below the pie. The Mac and cheese was artisanal-seeming but over cooked and over bland. No one really wanted to eat it after the test bite. The Jalapeño burger, topped with a massive flavorless jalapeño on a shockingly unseasoned patty. The bun was good and buttery toasted. Sadly it was the best part of the burger. The side of street corn tasted canned within seconds the corn itself tasted like nothing (as in not even corn) and lacked the stronger blend of flavors usually in the most basic, buy-on-the-street street corn. The nachos were ok. Mostly a texture party (which was good, but again, they didn't seem to put flavor on the invite). The onions tasted old (like they were cut hours ago and lost their zing), the sweet picked jalapeños served with the nachos were nice, though not spicy. Drinks are good, service is pleasant, the table waters had a strong metallic tap taste. It's 2025, still no water filter? They're not expensive, even for high volume filters. The place looks great, with a fun, well-designed decor and beautiful food. Just wished they paid 1/3 as much attention to the recipes and food quality. The choices we made tonight should all have been painfully easy to make well and taste great. We didn't try the beer tonight, perhaps that's the primary draw here. My daughter and I went to have a drink and share a meal. We ordered a side green salad with ranch which was great! We also ordered the chicken sandwich (plain). It was ok. More pickles than chicken (and I love pickles). Our waffle fries came out hard as a rock. Our server was nowhere to be found. We had told her we wanted to order drinks but we needed a few more minutes to look at the drink menu. She never came back, not to take a drink order, to check on our food, to fill up our water, never. Until after we spoke to a manager. He gave us new waffle fries and took $4 off of our bill. We questioned going here because of the reviews so I guess it's our own fault. We gave them the benefit of the doubt. The restaurant vibe and view is great. Lots of tvs, fun drinks, etc. We will never return however! A good mixed green salad just isn't enough to bring us back. read more

I called to ask why and was told they had turned off their tablets because they were "really busy" and didn't have time for pickup orders. We have been here three times. The first time was horrible- bad pizza and appetizers. Second time, bad service. Went back one more time and hamburger and nachos were terrible, plus no one cared We asked for a plain smash burger and it came with remnants of everything that had been scraped off of it - mayonnaise onions pickles etc. They offered to remake it, but we declined since we were worried they might spit on it. The chef should have read the ticket correctly, and barring that the server should have checked it. Ordered just about everything under the sun....the WINNERS were: sweet potato fries, pretzels, Brussels sprouts, shrimp cocktail (served Mexican style), bacon burger, fish and chips, and house blonde ale. Losers: tri tip grilled cheese (two slender pieces of cheese ain't no grilled cheese) and Mac and cheese (tried it bc it seemed like a staple, it was made with the nacho cheese dipping sauce from the pretzel, ew). This is one of those times I wish Yelp had 1/2 stars. But to be clear, what elevated my initial review from 4.5 to 5 stars was the service. Kanoa was fantastic and went out of his way to accommodate my requests and was just an all around friendly and attentive server- also props to the barkeep who modified my cocktail. I had the portobell burger, which broken down by ingredients was so delicious!! The spinach and tomato were fresh, the brioche bun was so savory and the provolone really added some nice tang. But I think the way the cheese melted made the whole burger very oily and hard to eat- I had given myself a cheese facial by the end. But the sweet potato fries were amazing! I had their special edition bourbon in a Manhattan- and it was a very special indeed! The bourbon had some very aromatic tones and with a perfectly pleasant afterburn. The smoke added some really nice aroma too and was fun to watch! Chilling the bourbon just a tad in the shaker would have made it the perfect cocktail. The overall vibe was very laid back and easy, with plenty of parking in the adjacent lot. read more

Big bunch of fun here! Blast & Brew is in the old Marie Callendar's restaurant building, and it does the space justice! I would say that it is a bar and music venue first and a restaurant second, but that adds up to a weekend hotspot! This is something that this area of the Central Coast has been missing. Lots of free parking is also appreciated, and there is a huge ramp for access to the front door. The interior space has been retrofitted to feature big wooden beams, and opened up to welcome the vacation crowds that enjoy this cool city! I still remember my first visit to Pismo many moons ago, and would have loved a big friendly place like this! Huge menu with a big selection for everyone! Some seafood, some appetizers (read tapas), some pizza, some burgers, and an offering for kids make the deciding difficult, so give yourself time to peruse the menu! (Or look ahead like I do, since I tend to be indecisive). The wine list is decent, there are self-service pour taps for beer, and the spirit list is exhaustive, with flights for tasting! We were seated right away for at a window table for an early lunch, and a friendly waitress immediately took our drink order! I chose a bargain-priced glass of Justin Sauvignon Blanc for $10., while my husband got a Coke. I had to try my go-to shrimp tacos, (with onion rings!) while he went for the local burger with tots. Drinks arrived promptly, and we had time to admire and enjoy the view and the fresh ocean breezes from the open windows while we awaited our lunch. It was an older crowd than I expected, mostly seated at the windows and also enjoying the food and atmosphere here! Our food arrived quickly. My tacos were the savory, slightly spicy version with huge shrimp (dare I say prawns) and my husband's burger was perfectly done! I enjoyed my savory crispy onion rings, and dipped lots of his tots in a bit of Ranch dressing! Generous portions meant we packaged up our leftovers, and savored them again for dinner! Considering the semi-finals basketball game was on, the noise level was to be expected at a Sports Bar! The service was the best I've seen in years and I'm 75 years old!. We were so impressed to see the level of cooperation and smiles on the waitstaff. Our compliments to all of the busy staff scurrying thru this large space with efficiency and a smile! The food was next level both in appearance and taste! And everything arrived at the same time and hot!! The largest ribeye I have ever seen on the central coast and I might add from $8-$10 cheaper!! Blast and brews is close to the hotel so we decided to go try it. They have a large menu with pretty much everything. They have a large selection of beers on tap plus serve your own beer by the ounce. I ended up ordering their double pepperoni pizza. Let me just say this was probably the best idea ever. Took my son and his girlfriend to dinner last night and it was so perfect. There were four of us total, three of us had the fish tacos and one had the Hawaiian pizza and everybody loved what they chose. The cocktails were great. The server was amazing. We were in town for the weekend and wanted to have some food and a beer and watch the A1 motocross race. Every TV was on the NFL game and we asked the waitress if it was possible to watch the supercross race. She said she completely understood because her dad was a fan too. We came here to have a drink and a snack since it was a short walk from the SeaCreast hotel which is where we were staying. We had seen this restaurant many times when we visited pismo in the past and never really thought to stop in. After this trip we will definitely be making it a regular place to enjoy some food and drinks. We sat at a table by the windows and sadly the first table we sat at the window did not open so the person cleaning the table next to us offered us to change tables and we took the offer. The views are amazing! We ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp and the loaded tots. Both were amazingly delicious, however, the bacon wrapped shrimp was wrapped with a whole slice of bacon. Normally when I've had this dish at other places it's half a slice of bacon so it's not too salty. Having it with a whole slice makes it a bit too salty. The sauce was delicious and the ranch dressing is amazing!!!! I used both to dip the shrimp into. The tots were soooo good! Definitely comfort drinking food. They could've used a little more cheese but still delicious! Our first server was ok, she didn't introduce herself and didn't really check back with us, maybe it was because she was about to get off. The second server was amazing! I wish I could remember her name but she had beautiful green eyes and reddish hair with a great personality and made our experience that much better! The drinks.... Whew they pack a punch and worth every penny! It was a good thing we walked because after those drinks we wouldn't have been able to drive. We ordered the 10/10/20 the pismo sunset, and the mi amor. All of them were refreshing and tasty! We were lucky enough to have visited during a slow time, right after lunch and right before dinner. ROUND 2..... yup! We had such a great time that we decided to go back for round 2 later for some drinks. Once again they did not disappoint and once again we were glad we walked! The restaurant was packed but we were just going for drinks so we sat at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and prompt! Fast forward to the next day.... Yup you guessed it! Round 3! This time the wait for restaurant was 25 minutes for 2 people and the bar had no seating. We chose to wait although the restaurant had a lot of empty tables and a lot of staff so we weren't sure why the long wait for 2 people but that's how restaurant service can be. A few spots opened up at the bar so we chose to sit at the bar. Unfortunately the service was not as prompt. We were greeted by a young g lady who said she would come back and get our order. But either she got busy or forgot. Either way we flagged down another bartender and get a menu. We placed our order for a salad and a margarita flight. The flavors were good but they were a little too heavy on the sweet and sour. But once again thank goodness we walked. We also ordered a raspberry cheesecake and it was one of the best and most creamy cheesecakes I have had in a very long time! I will even go as far as saying that it was better than Cheesecake Factory cheesecake! Our server/bartender was switched to Riley and she informed us that it was her first day behind the bar. I came here twice while staying at the Seacrest which is in the same parking lot. The first time I had the poke with chips. The chips are made of a delicious tempura, yummy! The second time I had their fried chicken burger which was amazing! I was really surprised. I highly recommend the hotl honey but be mindful, it is hot! They have a wide selection of beers on tap and I tried four of them. All of them were delicious but I particularly enjoyed the cerveza. Also if you are staying at the Seacrest there are QR codes you can order from which is really convenient. The staff was great. We sat at the bar and that night they were hosting speed dating which was fun to watch. I will be visiting them again next time I stay at the Seacrest. read more
