One of the top burgers in Omaha. I believe this burger's fresh ingredients of onions, lettuce, and tomato help bring out the juicy aged white cheddar burger patty. The patty is well cooked and super juicy with each bite of the burger. The fries are a killer 10/10. Perfect amount of salt and fried to a great crunch for each bite. The ranch is a great addition to the fries. Service was good during a busy week night. The server for that section came over and took it back because she had a four topper coming. Well, 10 mins later there's only 2 people sitting there. Meanwhile we are scrambling for chairs for our six person party. Also, it's a sunny 60 degree day in February and they have no seating or tables outside. Side note: our server was shocked at the brassiness of the other server that took our chair. Our server did a great job. Obviously they need more training so they can have some consistency. We walked over here from Zipline brewing to grab dinner. Service was on point and timely. Friendly but not to the place of being annoying. They have great beer selections and full bar. We started with pretzel bites with a beer cheese sauce for dipping. Excellent. I had a burger with potato salad. Burger cooked perfectly and the potato salad was like mom made. Surprise! Blatt has more than Beers and Tables! When I tried to order a Bud Light I was treated to such a look of shock that I felt compelled to quickly backpedal, "it's not for me, it's for a friend!" (though as Bill pointed out, they probably would look even less favorably on me ordering beer for a friend who hadn't arrived yet... apparently there's some kind of drinking age law). But turns out that didn't matter either, because our server suggested an alternative lager for 'my friend' - lone star beer - which showed up in a cute little boot! I mention the story above because, while I'm the kind of person to ooh and aah over a watering hole having Fruuli on tap, the average bar-goer might be taken aback or angered by the more 'expensive' craft beer selections (but $5/pint seems about the going rate these days for drinking during non-HH times to me anyway). Yes, of course I had a Fruuli. Also a Lucky Bucket Heartland Wheat. But what really impressed me was the food. I'm glad that Bill already had his eye on something to share, because upon reading the menu it would have probably taken me way too long to decide on my own. We started with the Hunter's Spatzle - I have a personal weakness for spatzle of any type - but this one was oh so special... lardon, shallots, garlic, English peas, Emmentaler cheese, nutmeg. Get in my belly. I also got to try a nibble of the Bavarian Pretzel Bites, which stood up to most any other soft pretzel available in a bar. The dipping sauces were complimentary in two totally unique ways. But the Char-Grilled Chicken was the star of the show. Almost sneaky, if a sandwich can be, with it's unassuming name... don't order it lightly. Our server actually asked, "do you like spicy food?" when we ordered because I could see someone being serious confused when they received an Indian spiced curried chicken breast with mango chutney, pickled fennel & red onion, aged white cheddar, cilantro, Boston lettuce, and tomato on a buttered brioche bun. Me, though? I was thrilled beyond belief. Yes, strong words indeed... but it was a heck of an impressive sandwich. We took a short seven minute walk with our daughter in her stroller. Upon arrival, we were directed by the bartender to sit where ever we wanted. Since we had our daughter's stroller, we chose a table where we could put it out of the way easily. We sat for a while before the bartender brought us menus. He informed us who would be our waiter. Our actual waiter eventually came and apologized for the wait and took our drink orders. I had a rough day and I just wanted a burger and a beer. So i tried this place. Loved the location. Walked inside, was greeted instantly. There are signs on the tables that let you know it's been sanitized. The menu is electronic. I ordered the Mac and Blatt bites (probably butchered that) they were ok. Way too dense, but the aioli served with it helped a little bit. I could only eat a couple. Which sucked cause i read some great reviews about them. They kind of had the texture of a condensed risotto ball. Then I ordered the backyard burger. I added bacon and the cheddar. Holy heck. That burger hit the spot. I'm a fan of this place! The gingerbread cider was an interesting twist on cider, I'm a fan. The pretzel bites were warm and soft and the sauces were tasty. The mustard sauce had a little kick and the Gouda sauce was really creamy. Put them together and you get a solid combination. The brat was good, but probably my least favorite part of the meal. I did the beer braised not the jalapeño, and just found it lacked much flavor. I would love to check this place out when they have their chicken and waffles. The service was great and I really liked the environment. I liked the natural elements and all the light. The one other negative is the limited menu. I have my new favorite place for some fish and chips. I have only stopped in for a lunch and cant wait to come back in the evening for a nice draft as well! I notice they have fresh squeezed on tap. The service has been excellent and prompt. The fish is hands down the best Omaha has to offer. the breading is perfectly light and crispy at the same time. with a tender clean tasting filet. Also has some rosemary flavors in the oil/breading and the aioli was pretty good but had the missing garlic to it ?? not really aioli without that. The fries are great hand cut but have been coldish. This place is super good! We went on a Sunday night around 7pm and had the whole place pretty much to ourselves. They offer Happy Hour all day on Mondays which was nice for $1 off beers, $5 house wines, and $5 mojitos. The Root burger was made with quinoa and beets and was very good. The quality of food for the price was very decent. The service was a bit slow, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars. While driving cross-country I stayed overnight in Omaha -- almost spent the night at the hotel with room service... so glad I didn't! This place is great. Everyone is kind, funny, and down to earth. Responsive, attentive and just a pleasure to talk with. The bartender was the best, made a killer whiskey drink and even gave me some new book recommendations! On Friday, December 23, 2022, my mother hosted an engagement party at the Blatt inside the beer garden rooftop. I am the bride and my mother worked extremely hard with the planning for this event. In September, my fiancé and I went to the Blatt to view the space. At that time, we asked staff about having an engagement party in December and if they have an all seasons rooftop. They ensured us that the rooftop would be enclosed and heated properly. My mother also went to the space before she booked with them to ask similar questions and was given the same answers regarding the heating. The afternoon of the engagement party; my fiancé, mother, and aunt went to the venue to begin decorating. When they arrived, the roof hatch was open, the room was freezing, and snow was inside of the venue. (There is a picture attached with the snow in the venue) My mother asked them to close the hatch and if the room would be heated by the start of the party (6pm). Again, the staff ensured that the room would be properly heated. At the time of the party, the heaters were on. However, it was still really cold and only got worse throughout the night. Guest were beginning to show their discomfort but still trying their best to be supportive and fight the cold. After dinner, I asked my fiancé to see if the staff could do anything about the heat. He was given the answer "this is the best it's going to get." We had a full program of games, speeches, and family introductions. About half of the guests had to leave due to the cold well before the event ended. I felt so disappointed because we worked so hard to have a full program that had activities throughout the night. At that point, I was approached by 2 employees apologizing about the cold and offering a 20% discount. About 45 minutes until the end of the event, I was given the option to move it to a different room. By that point, most of our guests left, we had a 360 camera and a DJ. By the time they would take down and put together their equipment again, the party would be over. Everyone made the best of the situation because this is supposed to be a monumental moment. However, I was extremely disappointed and saddened that I could not get the full experience of celebrating my engagement. I wish that the staff and event planner were more caring of our situation. The hatch should have never been open over night. Especially since we had dangerously low temperatures for 2 days. They should have offered us a space inside the restaurant before all of the equipment was set up for the DJ and 360 booth. Those take a lot of time and effort to set up and take down. Plus those were companies that we hired, not our personal equipment. Overall, there should have been more initiative to at least find more heaters for the room when it was discovered that the hatch was left open. This was discovered at noon, the party started at 6. That is more than enough time to have a solution. I really feel sad for my mom as she spent a lot of money, time, and effort for this. She did not have an ounce of empathy from the event coordinator. The coordinator was supposed to contact her the following day and did not. She was not contacted until after she wrote a Google review. I hope no one experiences this type of treatment during what is supposed to be one of the happiest moments of your life. read more

I would say there was about 1/2 cup small bites of chicken a couple of which I had to remove due to cartilage or something too chewy. The tomato pieces were large (no knife) and if you're visiting with a friend eating all the finely chopped or stringy veggies & noodles is pretty inconvenient for a chatty lunch. My greatest complaint though was service. We walked up and ordered 2 salads and were requested to tip on the screen. We then attempted to sit in the area "where no one was sitting" and were told since we ordered at the counter we weren't allowed to sit there? What exactly was that tip about?
