As a burger place, I will certainly bypass other burger places in Downtown for a Blatt burger, and do not get me started on the pretzel bites.... BUT... I would run way out of my way for the Grilled Wedge Salad. Sadly, I called in a takeout order, and they have taken the wedges off the menu. They don't even have the dressing that made the salad so special. I can only hope they see this review as a call to action to bring this salad back. Love the patio and how during nice days they can literally roll up one of the walls and people can enjoy the fresh air within the confines of the restaurant. Menu is not overly large, but generally something on there to satisfy most tastes. Our group went with the Root Burger (vegan) and the Blattwurst (beer braised brat on pretzel bun with kraut). I can't believe I haven't reviewed Blatt yet! I dig the fact that their name pays homage to Rosenblatt Stadium. It brings a little bit of classic Omaha to North Downtown and the area directly surrounding the new stadium. I also think their beer selection and food menu are both pretty dang good. It's a gastropub done right -- from decadent burgers to chicken and waffles to pretzel balls to plenty of vegan options, not to mention over 20 beers on tap plus as many bottle-beer options. The open layout and modern atmosphere is spacious and inviting (it can seem a bit dark during the day). They also have an open air top floor that's filled to the brim during the College World Series and is also a great spot for other events like concerts to yoga classes. I've been eating/drinking at Blatt since it opened in 2012. The rotating beer selection always hits the spot. And like all of Flagship's restaurants, the food is creative and playful. Over time, I've tried most of the snacks (the Pub Peanuts are especially good) and apps (LOVE the Blatt Mac and Sriracha Buffalo Char-Fried Chicken Wings). Most of the entrees are average -- nothing too special, but the sandwiches always make for a good meal. One glorious exception: the Chicken and Waffles. Pretty darn good, emphasis on the darn. The jalapeno waffles are unique and not too spicy, while the chicken (get the strips!) is tender and peppery -- a perfect combo paired with maple syrup and gravy. And I always go for the frites, if only for the parmesan-peppercorn aioli and smoked tomato ketchup. Blatt does their dips right. Warning: Like many of its NoDo neighbors, Blatt pulls a 180 during the College World Series/CenturyLink events. It's busy and the food is limited. But honestly, if you're going to spend $5 on a beer, you might as well make it a craft selection. read more

Great salad and great chicken sandwich we split, both were really good, chicken was nice and crisp. Little disappointed in the garlic parm fries, it looked like they just throw some parm with minced garlic on it, not much effort. I've been here a few times over the past months and I'd say I'm a fan. It's another one of Flagship's restaurants so, as usual, it's trendy, themed, and has a classic elegance. It's decor fits in perfectly with the area surrounded by the TD Ameritrade ball park--but also close in proximity to Century Link Center and the Slowdown strip where people might pop in for a meal before a concert or a movie at Filmstreams. I've haven't gotten to experience the cool upper deck yet that is so popular, since it's definitely not baseball season in this frozen tundra...but I can see that it would be a pretty sweet hangout. The inside decor is teetering between a classy joint and a sports bar. There are ample TV to watch the game here. Bathrooms-modern and clean. A+. Parking during the "off season" (read: not college world series or when there is an event at the ballpark) is super easy, and if you're looking for an Old Market esque experience without the hustle and bustle then this could be your ticket to success. The menu here is pretty straightforward, I would classify it as new American. Nothing I've had here was bad so far- highlights were the kale caeser and the wings, the chicken fried steak and burgers were ok, Mac and cheese very decedent and I suggest to share. The pretzel bites are fun and yummy. The bar is beautiful and fully stocked. They have a great list of craft and unique beers that is a real draw for me. Staff are friendly and cool. YUMMMMMMMM. I came here for a work event last week and I was so pleasantly surprised by everything the Blatt had to offer. My company rented out the rooftop and the views were really great. Being higher up allowed for a nice breeze and the tin roofs offered shade from the hot sun. Because it was a large group, the Blatt laid out an array of delicious appetizers. My favorite were these fluffy, salty, yummy pretzel balls. About the size of a golf ball, these babies were addicting. They came with this amazing cheese dip and oh.my.gosh. I am not joking when I said I probably ate about 14 of these treats. You know the phrase "amaze-balls"? Yep, that's these delicious treats! I also sampled some chips and salsa (also fantastic, but overlooked due to the pretzel balls), chicken skewers and beef/pepper skewers. All so great to eat. On top of the food, the actual space was so perfect. It's big enough to accommodate a really large group (think 100 people), but their rows of old picnic benches made it feel like a more intimate setting. Really nice sports bar across from the College World Series stadium! Also close to Film Streams and the Slowdown! I dig the modern feel and layout, really open and high ceilings! Really cool full bar with tons of regional craft beers on tab. They had a limited menu the night we were there, but one of the menu items was a Vegan Brat with sauerkraut on a pretzel bun! Since it was the only thing Vegan on the menu I went with that, but it must have been a good idea since my other two friend at the table did the same! Usually I would not be a sauerkraut kinda guy, but it was absolutely a delicious combo on this brat! It also came with a hefty portion of fries. Did I get to the best part it was cheap, under 10 bucks and I felt full and ready to rock! Blatt Beer and Table also has upstairs patio seating, lots of tv's for sports watching, nice bathroom, and the wait staff was great! I really really dig this place! Solid 4.25! TL;DR - $48 for a lot of good food. Highly recommend. J and I ate here during our whirling driving tour of the Midwest. We stayed one night in Omaha and had to eat dinner. This was within walking distance to our hotel and we're not incredibly creative people so, there ya go- dinner choice. We went in on a Monday around 4:30 and it was us, another dude, and our waitress. Just the way we like it. Service was great- she (sorry no name, I'm the worst- cool piercing and ink and friendly) could have been a pain since she didn't have much else in the way of tables to attend to but she wasn't. She was perfectly attentive but unobtrusive, and she looked like a hard worker keeping busy. I like that. Got two bottled root beers ($3/each) and water had been immediately offered up by aforementioned cool server because I think we looked hot and parched (And I'm sure they give water to everyone). We got two apps (snacks) because it was happy hour- soft pretzel bites and chicharron. The pretzels were standard but the mustard was awesome and the chicharron were actually pork rinds but they were fun and the portion was ample. For dinner I got the chicken and waffles and J got the fish and chips. The chicken and waffles was fantastic- The chicken is a huge portion of perfectly breaded, crispy but tender strips that were piping hot and perfect. The waffle was inventive- the cornbread jalapeno was fun and the Orange butter was already melted but I could definitely taste it. I just wish they gave a bigger portion of syrup!! J`s fish and chips was good. He had no complaints. The fries were a good portion and well executed. Personally, I thought the fish was a bit fishy and greasy BUT it was still damn tasty and I gladly swapped a chicken tender for a piece of fish. For dessert we got the s`more brulee thing. It was just meh. When will we ever learn to just get dessert elsewhere. It wasn't bad by any means and I practically licked the dish but it wasn't WOW. Blatt Beer & Table is a fun place--probably one of the few American food bars with flatscreens that I will ever find myself in. For how close it is close to TD Ameritrade Park, Blatt is able to tastefully serve up a sports-friendly bar scene without scaring away those lest sport-inclined (aka me) and also serving food that makes this place worth going to whether or not you drink. Everything on the menu sounds good at Blatt, so good luck making a decision. I was pleased by my variety of options vegetarian options, and opted for an impressively executed veggie burger. I really enjoyed that their ketchup and mustard were house made as well. Even though I came on a Creighton game day, the food was prepared super well, served in a timely manner, and the staff was very attentive. This is impressive as it's not a feat many restaurants can pull off while the place when packed to capacity. Overall, I'm far from having any complaints about Blatt Beer & Table. The only thing that would push this place over the top for me would be more local and seasonal ingredients in their dishes. Then again, if you come here with the main mission to drink, their "bar food" will most likely far surpass what you would find at most other bars, and it fits quite well with the draft beer selection. When coming to Blatt, look forward to leaving happily with a full stomach and buzz, even it's not a mouth-gasm experience. read more

Had a wonderful experience here! Our server was amazing. She brought new glasses of iced tea without a request and before we had even finished the first. She brought crayons and paper for the little one that was with us, without even asking. The food was great, we had pretzel bites that were hot and fresh and pillowy and fresh dipping sauces. Alcohol options are plentiful. We had salads with chicken on top and they came with a variety of vegetables and toppings and a house-made dressing. We came on an afternoon where there was an event at a nearby venue so they had a limited menu. But that didn't hinder anything, sometimes menus are too long and crazy with options. A pretty unexpected and somewhat unique rotating draft menu, with standard faves as well. The happy hour from 3-6:30 is your best bet for value. As a semi-veg/vegan, I can say the Vegan Curry Bratwurst was very legit - not mushy, great flavor. And even though they called it a "slider" it was full size on a full size bun - for $5. (Keep in mind the happy hour doesn't apply on game or event days). The ground Rosemary mustard is the bomb. Get some with whatever you order - especially good on the pretzel bites. Frites, the simple margin helping item is what brought me back to Blatt Beer and Table. Though the Frites themselves don't feel homemade, the smoked ketchup and pepper-parmesan aioli make this worth the indulgence. At happy hour prices, it's worth the try though your portion isn't generous compared to other competitors. On the outing today, we went prior the Creighton basketball game and unfortunately we're stuck on the limits menu. Lucky for me, I still got my burger. Unlock for my wife, she didn't get her Salmon BLT and settled with the Char-Grilled chicken. The Blatt Burger with Bacon ($11+$1) was cooked to a medium-well, juicy and delicious. Paired with the aoili I previously mentioned on the bun, it was delicious and full of flavor. Also offered with this are tomatoes, pickles Boston lettuce and onions cooked on Guiness (which was not included in my order today, could be due to the event). It came with fries, similar to previously mentioned and I added the aioli to the side, which was not an additional charge thankfully. The Char-Grilled chicken ($10) cooked to perfection, was moist and tender. Perfectly seasoned with the right notes of curry and the sweet mango chutney, the bite my wife shared with me made me wish I would have ordered that instead. Also served with fries, my wife also added the aioli. The service nothing to write home about. Great bar and fantastic environment. The food will keep me coming back, especially with the innovative variety and someplace that has a lot of options to give it a try.
