Came at noon for lunch; first time at this pizza chain. One might be more familiar with MOD Pizza - the model is the same. However, I really like this pizza a bit more today. There is one size of pizza but six types of dough for the customer to choose from which has additional cost about the original dough (which I had and was tasty). Ordered a "build your own pizza" with classic red sauce, Canadian bacon, sausage, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, black olives, mozzarella, and parmesan. As the dough is thin, the pizza cooks quickly. This is a feature of this type of pizza place. So good. Crust was crispy, not burned and flavorful toppings. Felt pleased with the value for the cost. There is good indoor seating but on this wonderful afternoon, the added treat was sitting outside on the patio with a nice water fountain structure nearby. read more

I want to take a moment share how much I enjoying coming to this store. Besides them being fanatical about getting our order right every time, there service is always excellent. Tonight when I came in we were greeted so warmly by Rentley who assisted in our payment. He was so helpful and gave us the white glove treatment. He asked exactly how we wanted our pizza cooked and answered our questions with a smile and warm, "of course". Came here after a hike as a pizza had been misdelivered to me earlier so I decided to go get my own. I'm a big fan of blaze pizza, but my experience here was meh. My wife and i came together but we were not served together for sone weird reason, they grabbed her order and then did two other online orders though no one was there. Maybe because we don't look like a normal couple? Anyway, while making the pizza there was no sauce on the left side so had to ask her to fix that. Also, it was not cooked enough and was cold in the middle. Again, not just undercooked, but actually cold. They didn't offer end fixing, had to ask someone to cone and allow us to get the arugula and such. So, maybe just an off day. But going home to cook my food so I can eat it. read more

Perhaps I just happen to be here on "good" days, but it's always been clean, sanitary, everyone seems to be giving their A-game, etc. I've come to know a few of the staffers by name and will mention those later on, but please keep reading (if not bored yet...;-) One of the 2 biggest variables with these "fast food" pizza joints is that... I don't want to pay a "vegan tax" as Bridget W. mentioned in her review.... it's almost like getting slapped with a penalty for having a dietary restriction. I feel the same way about paying more for alternative milk at coffee shops, but ANYWAYS. Next, I have sensitive teeth. "Nate" and "Lisa" are two of the employees (and I believe, Management team) that know by face/name. They always take pride and care to make sure everything looks great and offer any changes during the process. There are more employees that I appreciate here, just have to learn their names. They also have an app "Blaze" where it's easy to sign up and can either snap photos of receipts or just scan the barcode during check out for rewards -- from free pizzas, drinks, salads, desserts. For anyone that's had a less than savory experience here, I encourage you to return.... at least once more ...and if notice something "off" or just flat out disgusting, bring it to the attention of the manager on duty. I think the pizza here is good, but I have to leave a 1-star review for two reasons: there is a strong odor throughout the restaurant (sewer?) that is offputting; and, the outdoor seating area is never cleaned. I came here several weeks ago and experienced the foul smell. I ate outside to avoid the smell. The outdoor seating area is nice, except that every surface is dirty, and appears to not be regularly cleaned. I just returned today, figuring the foul odor was probably a plumbing issue that was fixed in the weeks since, but as soon as I walked in the door, the odor was present. I turned around and walked out. The bad news is that this is an unpleasant place to sit and eat. The good news is that both things should be easily fixed! Fix the plumbing (or whatever it is) and wipe down the tables outside every day. read more

We love love love Blaze pizza. Probably my favorite pizza place. I love the Make Your Own pizza! Next time we gota try it with the cauliflower crust. Blaze pizza is always busy, but they are so generous with their portions and what you can put on the make your own! I've gotten free stuff from their rewards program (I used to buy pizza for work sometimes) and I love their Pi Day deal ($3.14 for a personal make your own pizza). I've also gotten discounted gift cards from them during holiday sales so that makes it an even sweeter deal. Anyway, overall great value for the quality and quantity! The employees sometimes seem overworked but they're never rude or mean. I like both locations a lot and go to whichever one is convenient at the time lol. read more

I love Blaze Pizza!! I love the vegan cheese and the fact they don't go overboard with it. I love the spicy sauce, although sometimes its too spicy. I order regular red on the pizza and then get sides of regular red and spicy on the side. This brings me to my frustration: Employees often forget these sauces or include less. When I've pointed this out Im met with frustration. I "get" that it seems like a lot of sauce for free. But look, this is for 3 orders...and I was specific in the notes. I have a hunch this has more to do with management than employees themselves. Everything is all about speed rather than accuracy these days. Love this place the last time I went was before I really started Yelping with a gift card from the holidays and it was delicious as it was then as it was when my daughter and my man dined this evening! There pizzas are made fresh to order, their salads are made in house daily and not to mention their lemonades are all natural! They also have a few dessert options to satisfy your sweet tooth and both indoor and outdoor seating. This evening was my first time dining outside and it's very relaxing listening to the fountain next to the restaurant while you eat and it's nice and toasty with the heated lights as well! I have been coming to this location for several years and recently since the new manager I think it's been very disappointing! This last time I was there the manager herself made my pizza and it was horrible I had to ask for a little more of every single topping including the sauce not to mention she was not friendly at all. After my pizza came out of the oven the little bit of toppings she gave me were all bunched in the middle so not evenly spread out at all. I then asked for ranch, we ordered 4 pizzas and she tried to only give me one ranch, let's be realistic please! I was told that she tries to give out the very least of everything so that at year end her store gets money back, I am pretty sure the inventory you receive is measured on the amount of business this store gets and is meant to be used! Obviously you have to be there to make sure your pizza is correct, I ordered last week for delivery, my pizza crust was burnt and ranch dressing was drizzled all over the pizza instead on the side like requested (which was disgusting). I filled out a survey and I received a coupon for a free pizza because of the mess up, and I didn't have a different experience from the first, my pizza had barely any cheese on it and I requested 3 types of cheese and my pepperoni was missing. My friend is so picky with food but I did a yelp search to find a place to eat so we can all enjoy a meal together. My friend loved it. She was about to enjoy whatever it is she wanted on her pizza. I got a gluten free crust. I think I might've enjoyed the cauliflower crust instead. I think the gluten free crust tastes a little too grimy in texture. I just didn't like the way it felt in my mouth. Just reminded me of a wet cracker. What I like about their business is you can make your own pizza. My friends and I have been visiting every pizza place in Sacramento to figure out who really has the best pizzas. Blaze pizza is definitely one of the highly recommended ones. There is never a line when we've gone and it always has fast service. The blood orange lemonade is absolutely to die for, I highly recommend it. Although, this recent time we went to write this review, they didn't seem to have any. I don't know it they were just out or if it's discontinued though. Service is always friendly enough, and the options for toppings are insane. Comparing them to a place such as Pieology, they definitely have the most options for customization out of any of the build your own pizza shops. You have a decent amount of choices for sauces and doughs which include everything from standard, gluten free, or even vegan. There is always a wide variety of cheese which include the standards, but also rare gems such as goat, vegan, feta, or gorgonzola. Meats include everything from standard pepperoni, all the way to Applewood bacon, meatballs, or vegan chorizo. The sheer number of vegetable choices is kind of intimidating but amazing. They have everything from standard jalapenos and mushrooms, to onions, garlic, olives, tomatoes, bell/banana peppers, and even butternut squash! The pizza is 11 inches and hovers right around the 11$ price tag. The price doesn't change based off the amount of toppings you decide to get which is what makes them such a good deal. To keep it standard with other pizza places we review, I bought us a pepperoni pizza. It was good but it wasn't anything special when compared to many other places. Luckily, we also each got the build your owns which is their main selling point. At the risk of sounding crazy, I usually get mine with red sauce, spicy red sauce, mozzarella, parmesan, goat cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage, grilled chicken, meatballs, smoked ham, olives, basil, garlic, bell peppers, onions, spinach, and topped off with a little sea salt and oregano. It's kind of a crazy order which is what makes the 11$ price tag so reasonable. Every pizza place we go to has a different rating. If we rate somewhere a 5/10 it means it is as average as possible. Anything lower is worse than average, anything higher is better. The price for Blaze can't be beaten with a 10/10 score. As for taste, the pepperoni pizza we got was definitely an 8/10. It was better than average but it wasn't the most amazing thing ever. All of our build your owns came out tasting wonderful and I rated mine a 10/10. My friends rated there's a 9/10. Overall, we're giving Blaze a 9.25/10. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a good healthier alternative to other pizza places, and love a wide selection of toppings for free. read more

I just like the way you can make your own pizza in this place. Of course, you have to know what toppings go best in combination or you might just end up with something tasting funny. But for the uninitiated, there's always the standard fare...the Meat Eater, Green Stripe, and a host of others. You can even add more toppings to the standards. Cooking the pizza was very fast. We just had time to get ourselves seated when our names were already being called! The only "con" to the place I could see was the loud noise a staff member was making as he was dividing the dough into portions. I think this should be done in a place away from the dining area...or issue the guests with ear plugs...? It took a little while to get through the line and create your pizza, but the number of customers there was a good indicator of how popular and delicious this place was. After ordering, our pizzas were ready within 5 minutes. What impressed me and made me want to give Blaze Pizza a 5th star was the great customer service! While we were eating pizza at our table, there was an employee walking around asking everyone how their food was. He offered to take our pizza pans when we were finished. Its been awhile since I've been to Blaze pizza. What I remember they are fabulous. They cater to all types of food preferences.

The vegan options just keep coming for Blaze Pizza... and without the annoyingly typical up-charge (aka vegan tax) that comes with them. Classic red sauce, spicy red sauce (my favorite) and the BBQ sauce drizzle are all vegan. They've got daiya for the cheese substitute too. And now they've added Chik'n pieces for added protein. And they're actually pretty good. Of course there are lots of veggies. Bonus for the roasted garlic. And there's also a gluten free crust available for the GF crowd. The kale quinoa and cranberry salad is also a solid option, although make sure you let it rest after they add the vinaigrette so the kale can soften a bit. This is available in an entree or side salad. This is the place to quickly satisfy a pizza craving no matter what dietary preference you (or someone with you) have. Blaze pizza.... it was a pretty good first time experience!! Blaze is a cool and modern pizza joint where you build your own pizza with a variety of sauces and toppings!! I have been to pieology and I was expecting pretty much the same thing.... Blaze is in a good location in gold river next to Bel air and jacks urban eats! We ordered the build your own pizza.... which I think is the way to go! For the sauce, I blended the original Marianna sauce with the garlic pesto! As for the cheeses.... I got mozzarella and Parmesan cheese! Toppings.... mushrooms, green bell peppers, artichoke hearts, sausages, pepperoni, baby cherry tomatoes, and roasted garlic cloves! The best part was the roasted garlic cloves.... ah man.... every bite with a roasted garlic clove was amazing! The crust was thicker than pieology which some customers may like more or less.... depends on their tastes!! Blaze also has a cool selection of fresh lemonade but the blood orange was the one that stood out to us!! As for the employees, we felt like some of them spread the toppings on better than others! The employee who did my lady's pizza did a great job spreading the toppings.... his hat had two names on it: drake and palo... so I'm not sure what his real name is..... The employee who started out doing my pizza was doing great and her name was Donner, but then another employee with the name me Mayla didn't do as good spreading the toppings around! Conveniently located in the Gold River center area across from Rite Aid and Bel Air, there is always parking to be found. This is one of those establishments where you can either choose a pre-made pizza if you don't want to think or you can customize your own. I like mixing up the sauce a bit: half marinara and half pesto. Not together of course. Basically you can choose the various meat options, cheeses, veggie toppings. They pop it in the oven, call out when it's ready and you pick it up. You can also help yourself to boxes if you can't eat the whole thing in one go. Price-wise, it's about $10 I think? I can never eat one of those things by myself so sharing is an option if you're peckish and your friend is too. read more

Horrible customer service tonight. I ordered through google (unfortunately didn't realize it was leading me through postmates until the end) for pick up. Two pizzas. My wife and I just had twin boys 3 weeks ago so it's super hard to get out for a long time. It stated pick up time 6:33. Upon arrival, the female manager asked for my name and said there will be a 15 minute delay. I understood and showed patience. However when I saw that people walking in after me and ordering received their pizzas faster than me I was getting irritated. It took 45 minutes after my arrival for food to be ready. No apologies. Super rude service. One of the pizzas was ready for 20 minutes so it wasn't even edible. I asked for the order to be canceled and with a smirk she referred to postmates to cancel it since we didn't order through blaze. There appears to be only one Yelp for multiple Blaze locations, but my review is more about the corporate office. Overall I like the food at Blaze, but the customer experience has been horrible. I did "curbside" pick up at Elk Grove. I parked the car and called the number on the sign. The guy who answered sounded confused and hung up on me. I called back multiple times, but got a busy signal. I finally went inside and get the pizza. I told the guy boxing pizzas the phone line wasn't working. I said it three times because he looked confused. I went home and discovered they gave me the wrong pizza. So I called back, but the phone was still busy. I called the order line, which goes to a central location, and explained what happened. The lady also tried to call the store, but the line was busy. She told me I have one of two options: Go back to the store and have it remade, or send an email with the subject line "Elk Grove" to info@blazepizza.com. She said Blaze pizza would compensate me with another pizza. I was skeptical that this approach would work, but it was getting late and I'd lost my appetite for pizza. I heard nothing from Blaze Pizza. Not an acknowledgement, not an apology, and certainly not an offer for compensation. A company's customer service says more about them than their product. read more

I have to say definitely avoid Blaze if you are gluten-free. Not only is their gluten-free crust disgusting (it tasted like I was eating paper), I saw so many big cross contamination issues. I seriously think Pieology does way better trying to limit cc and crust is way better. I'm not celiac just intolerant so I went ahead and tried a slice or two of my pizza. I do have a mild tummy ache this evening but I'm pretty sure it was from my dinner not Blaze. Here are the cross contamination I saw..... used the same brush for sauce. After pizza was ready threw it on the same cooling area with the gluten pizzas, no attempt to separate. Used same cutting tool on my pizza as others. i watched the whole thing quietly because I like to see how they treat this so I can write up my review on yelp. So in my 2cents while there is risk of cc anywhere I think this location took no precautions to try to limit gluten for someone with an allergy, intolerance or celiac.
