Worse experience at Blaze. We received 4 floppy pizzas for $38 and were overcharged by $6.00. Then Patrick, manager, could not provide refund receipt because his printer allegedly was not working. Went back next day to get refund receipt from manager and he printed out a document for me. Checked my credit card today and saw additional charges for $33 and $36 for pizzas we never ordered. These charges were on the day I went in to get a refund receipt. Disputing these fraudulent charges w my credit card company now. Will not be back! read more

Decided to grab a quick bite to eat while making my trip back home for the weekend. I've been going here for awhile now and I've loved the food. There are so many options to choose from for the designing your own pizza. They also recently added spicy vegan chorizo on to the menu. Besides the build your own you can select pre selected pizzas, salads, garlic knots, and get brownies or s'mores pie. The atmosphere is very inviting and I always choose to sit outside and enjoy the nice scenery outside of the restaurant. UTC area is building up really nicely which makes it a perfect spot to sit outside. I have just eaten at Blaze for the first time. There is so much RIGHT with this place, I don't know where to begin. I wanted to speak to the manager and thank him for running a PERFECT business, but guess what? He was behind the counter working and was cooking. A very in the trenches with the troops kind of guy, and I was extremely impressed. For starters, every single person I dealt with had something lacking in the service industry today. They were all polite, kind, helpful, generous...I mean I was shocked. They were all youths and the were all awesome. Keep up the good work there. I waited to get an attitude from any one of them...sort of expecting it to happen. It didn't. From the first young lady who could see we were newcomers to the young man asking us what toppings we wanted. Everyone was kind. If the food were terrible, we would come back for their attitudes. A young lady came over to us while we ate salad and kindly asked if she could pick up our pizza and bring it to us. EVERY business should go study this model. This is the future. I've got to say, for about eight dollars the build your own pizza is an absolute steal. They let you put as many toppings on it as you want. Seriously, like who even allows that? I was a little worried that the price might affect the taste since it seemed a little too good to be true, but I admit that I was wrong for worrying. The toppings taste fresh, they don't try to cheat you on the amount of cheese and toppings, and they are pretty quick given how busy they are. The crust is decent, nothing to write home about, and I do prefer a crispier pizza. That's really me being picky though. So take it with a grain of salt, or pepper. Whatever you're into. I personally ordered a build your own with spicy red sauce, chicken, applewood smoked bacon, chopped garlic, basil, mozzarella cheese, and a drizzle of pesto. It was delicious!!! I've paid a lot more money for pizzas that didn't taste half as good as this one. The 4.5 stars do not lie folks. This place is the real deal. Emphasis on the deal. I don't believe in the whole "you get what you pay for" when it comes to food based on my experiences. This place is a prime example of that. Good pizza place for a quick bite and very nice customer service, wish they had the Coke Freestyle Machines but I do love the Blood Orange Lemonade they provide. As it stands I think it's a better option than Rise Pies in the mall due to being larger restaurant and having a better customer service the only draw backs I see are they don't have the Freestyle machines and the dough could be a little thicker. Amazing, as expected. I've been to the Blaze location in Gainesville before this trip to Sarasota and I really enjoyed my experience there. This location serves just as good service and pizza as the others. This visit, I got the barbecue chicken pizza which consists of banana peppers, onions, mozzarella, Gorgonzola, chicken, and topped with a drizzle of barbecue sauce. Hot, fresh, and delicious. Typically I'm not a fan of thin crust pizzas but I'll make an exception for Blaze's pizzas because they're flavorful and crispy. I also got the s'mores pie this visit! It's wonderful when you get it warmed up. For its size it is a little pricey at $2.25 for a small little cookie sandwich but it's absolutely delicious if you're craving something sweet after your pizza. Also try the blood orange lemonade! Blaze can make a delicious pizza faster than you can decide what to put on it! As we walked in for lunch there was a line (Nibbler doesn't like lines) but Mrs. Nibbler said it moves fast. Indeed! I was still trying to figure out toppings (they have *everything*) when the line was gone. The thin crust pizza was crispy on the bottom and had a perfect balance of tasty tomato sauce and cheese. Mozzarella salad was generous. With a bottle of Pellegrino lunch was $15 and plenty for two. As for the atmosphere (or lack thereof) Nibbler may just be too old for this style. It's a noisy, high ceiling place with fixed fast food type chairs and tables. If you're grabbing a quick bite during work, or need to take your kids out for fast, delicious pizza, Blaze is the place. Sunday night and this place was poppin. The line was out the door, but didn't take too long to go through. I like how the crust stays crispy, even if you load up on toppings! Wherever I go, I know I can count on you to always hit the spot, and serve as my go to recommendation to my fiancee for "whats for dinner". Gluten-free, dairy-free vegan cheese......I'm hooked! The ordering process was very easy: I created my own pizza with gluten-free dough, olive oil, vegan cheese, red onion, roasted garlic, green peppers, mushrooms, a little sea salt, pesto & arugula (which is added after the pie is cooked). One of the best health conscious pizzas I've ever eaten. "So why only 4-stars, DJ?" Because when my pizza was brought to the table the pesto & arugula were missing and here's why I think this mistake happened. The option to add pesto & arugula are at the beginning of the assembly line although they don't add it until the pizza is cooked. So I think they should change the location of the option to the end of the line. Bonus: Because I chose gluten-free dough I was asked if they'd like they're gloves changed.
