The food is good and it has a good convenience factor as a healthy quick option. That being said it doesn't blow me away as something that I couldn't make myself. Another lunch run for the office and this time we choose Blazin Steaks on Kipapa. It's located in the space that Maui Taco used to occupy right next to Starbucks. Being so small, pretty much just a kitchen, cashier counter there isn't any room to dine inside although there are a few tables and chairs curbside. Didn't bother me as I was only going for take out. They serve Steak, Fish and Chicken dishes with a choice of sauces/styles such as Thai peanut, Korean BBQ, broiled or sweet chili. You can also add shrimp or mushrooms to your plate if desired. You have a choice of white or brown rice and various dressings to accompany your salad. Plates start at $6 and go up to $14 for a large steak and shrimp combo. Sauces are also available to dress your preferred meat and/or rice. I opted for the garlic steak and added mushrooms, with brown rice and ranch dressing for my salad. My coworkers followed suit except one had to be different from the pack and request white rice. I placed the order by phone and must say the worker was exceptionally polite. Upon my arrival the restaurant was clean and my order was ready. They even got it right (incorrect orders are a HUGE pet peeve of mine!) So YAY! Unfortunately the rice was a little on the mushy side and the steak was cut extremely thin. I'm guessing their cut of meet isn't the best and the thin slicing helps keep it tender - which it is. Flavoring was good and the steak wasn't overly salty as sometimes it can be. Overall this was a great eating experience. The Staff was friendly and fast. The food tasted good and you can't really beet the price. I'll definitely be going back. I have to say I do prefer the cut of meet you get from Foodland when they have their Steak Wednesdays, but the ease of ordering at Blazin is well worth it! read more

Blazin Steaks is usually my go to place for a post workout meal seeing as they are right across from 24 Hour Fitness. I have had the original steak, garlic steak, grilled garlic ahi, and spicy chicken breast...all of which are great, with the exception of the spicy chicken (which comes shredded). Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad...it was just WAAAAAY too spicy for my liking. I could only eat about 5 bites before I couldn't handle it anymore. It was like there was a 5 alarm fire going on in my mouth. Haha. It seriously makes me wonder what the extra spicy tastes like. @_@ Other than that, I am a fan of their steamed broccoli as well. It is always cooked just right (not too crunchy, not too mushy), and perfectly seasoned. The staff there was hardworking and got my food ready quickly. I ordered the the Xtra spicy chicken and my wife ordered the garlic chicken. They came with one side and the choice between brown, fried or white rice. I choice the brown rice along with my wife. At first bite of the Xtra spicy chicken my taste buds began to water. (I salivate at the thought of spicy food and I swear, something that isn't very sexy though) The portions were a good size and filling. I even saw a mother and daughter share one. Like many red blooded Americans from the mainland I put spicy sauce and their brown teriyaki sauce on my rice for flavor. You can substitute the rice for fresh broccoli and be uber healthy. I don't think they do small portions, so you will get a lot of food for about $6. I went there with a friend one day and forgot to write a review. I went back again so here goes... I was a undecided so i got the steak & shrimp with white rice, and macaroni salad. I ordered the spicy steak and I added the bbq sauce to it. Overall the spicy sauce was actually spicy which was a plus for me because most places you go to the sauce aren't actually spicy but it was a little salty to me. I still enjoyed it but if people are sensitive to sodium they will definitely notice it, I am happy I added bbq sauce because it kinda cut the saltiness and made it sweeter and I enjoyed the two flavors together. The garlic shrimp did need a little bit more seasoning but it was cooked perfectly. The rice was a good consistency, and the mac salad was actually spaghetti noodles, it tasted good and was a great compliment to the meal. read more

Haven't had Blazin Steaks since majority of all the locations have shut down. But decided to eat here again. Got the large steak and shrimp for $16. Was kind of upset because there was only 5 pieces of shrimp. Is this how it's supposed to be for a large plate? The steak portion was great so I can't complain about that. I found the steak to be very bland. Thought they would season it really good. The Korean sauce and soy sauce saved it a little. And normally, I would get asked how I liked my steak to be cooked, but they didn't ask and by the time I could ask they went straight to asking me what time I'll be there, told them 10 minutes and then they said thank you. So I told myself, maybe just maybe it'll be cooked the way I want it to be. And thankfully, it was cooked the way I wanted it to be. Although, there were some pieces that was way to rare for me to eat and was disappointed because I didn't want to waste anything because it was pretty pricey. I would rather go to Ono Steak and Shrimp in Kapolei. They have the same portion and their prices are cheaper and the steak is seasoned well. The staff is really friendly and customer service driven. I've never had a wierd vibe stepping into that place. Always greeted politely and that adds to the overall experience. The food is good. Although sometimes portions may not be consitent. Some times 2 chickens, sometimes 3. Sometimes the salmon peices are a good size. sometimes it's the wedge filets which taper off pretty thin. Although, the 3 times i've had the salmon they've been cooked really well and was very tasty. Not overcooked and dry. I still order it and enjoy it. The 4 stars is relative for me. For ''fast'' take out it's pretty good food and decent size portions. On top of it, it doesn't make you feel sick afterwards. The service is good and the restaurant is clean. I ordered the Thai Peanut Chicken plate and it was pretty tasty especially with the sweet chili sauce on the rice. I have even had enough leftovers for another meal. Also, The guy taking my order told me that they were known for their mac salad. So, for a buck more I figured ''hey, why not''. The verdict...nothing special. Again, wasn't bad. It just tasted like plain ol' mac salad. They do use spaghetti though instead of macaroni shells. That definitely makes it different but I don't think you can technically call it ''mac'' salad with that change. This little storefront next to Starbucks in Mililani Shopping Center just hasn't had much luck. The previous tenant, Maui Tacos, was there a while, but it was one of those places I went to once and found everything from the taste to the portions lacking. I never ate there again. Now a Blazin Steaks has come in to replace it, and I'm sad to say history has repeated itself for me. I ordered a garlic mahi plate for $8.99. They were slammed with soldiers from Wheeler so it took a good while for my order to be ready. When I finally got my order, the amount of mahi was super small and was not very good cuts of the fish either--it looked like the tail bits and it tasted briny and cheap. It was also covered in a shoyu garlic gravy that wasn't very good. I would've been better off going to nearby Foodland, buying my own mahi, seasoning it, and pan-frying it in garlic myself. It's not real bad, but it's not a good value either. I would definitely find a different place for lunch next time. read more

I have visited 4 different Blazin' Steaks locations and this one is by far the best. They use tossed greens instead of that cheap looking iceberg lettuce. The steak is always cooked to order and extremely flavorful. The service is also always friendly, the guys who work here are more professional than the other locations that I have visited. They also serve BROWN rice here. Some of the other locations that I have been to have not even thought about looking into serving brown rice for some reason. The price/ratio is reasonable as well. if you want a plate of steak and rice with a side of pretty salad, go here and you will be extremely pleased. Check it out!!!
