Never been here but I know a lot of people who have. Good customer service. We went when it wasn't too busy which helped because a few minutes after, it got really busy. The food was decent and plentiful. Come hungry or leave with leftovers. The place was clean and cozy.

10/10 Great Food, Big Portions, and Awesome Service! Alright, I've never been here before. I've seen some negative reviews and some positive ones, so I wanted to give my own honest take. This place has the same kind of local-food vibe you get at a lot of places here in Hawaii something I can really relate to. It reminds me a little of L&L, except this is actually a sit-down restaurant. As soon as I walked in, I liked the atmosphere. The decorations were nice, and I immediately felt comfortable. As a bigger guy, I always worry about restaurant seats being too small, but the seats here were actually nice and roomy. The music was also poppin' They were playing current music, which I really enjoyed. But the biggest plus for me was the food portions and how friendly the servers were. The three young workers were working hard, and I really appreciated their effort, so I made sure to leave them a good tip. They definitely deserve the recognition. And the food? 10/10. Big portions, exactly how I like it, and the prices are very reasonable. They're not expensive at all for the amount of food you get. The loco moco burger steaks were tender and cooked perfectly, and the curry beef was also cooked just right. Everything I tried was delicious. Food: 10/10 Portions: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Value: 10/10 Overall, this place is a solid 10/10 for me. I honestly felt bad seeing only three young servers working so hard, but they handled everything well. I'll definitely be back and next time, I'm ordering even more!

Service was ok. They do a lot of take out so another server came to help us when the first got caught up with the walk ins ordering to go/picking up their called in orders. Staff from back were very noisy - came to the front area and were talking loudly. I felt like I was in a Chinese restaurant. Ambiance - high ceilings so sounds carry. Didn't help the noise from the back staff. Walls are nicely painted. Food. Hubby's Orange Chicken was VERY spicy but not labeled as such. Chicken was dry. My Teriyaki Pork was the first I've ever had! It hasn't been marinated long enough so it wasn't very tasty AND it was horribly overcooked. I actually lost my appetite. This really surprised me because the Aiea location has good Teri pork. I couldn't finish even half of the meat, and this was a mini. Will try to only go to the Aiea location in the future.

Tonight we did takeout Monday for the family and everyone was very thrilled with their choices. Chicken Katsu, Garlic Salmon, Terri Beef and Kalua pig and cabbage and we all rated it 5 star! It was absolutely delicious and by paying cash I saved 3%. Service was fast and professional and o love the ambiance there but we did takeout tonight. We are regulars but it's usually 4 star but tonight all meals were fabulous! Thanks OMG!

First time at Oh My Grill and would come again. Cool you could order fish and chips as well as chicken noodle stir fry at the same place. Service is great at this location. Pricing is also affordable with a wide variety of food options. Hours are 9am-midnight, breakfast to dinner, lot of options to pick from any time of day.

My family and I love eating at Oh My Grill. We always leave with our bellies happy and full! This location is in Pearl City next to Cherry on Top/Foodland and there are tons of parking. I always get a mini beef stew which always makes me full despite it being the mini. I love the "create your own combo". I do that for my kids since they don't eat much and we usually make a combo with the BBQ chicken and fried chicken wings which are both awesome! The saimin is also good! The place is not that big but seats a pretty good amount of people. The chairs are really comfy! The employees are always nice and always accommodating. Don't be intimidated if you see a lot of people standing outside if you're dining in. It's better to just go in and see how long the wait is because there's a good chance the crowd of people are just waiting for their food and ordered take out instead! The last couple of times we were intimidated at the amount of people outside but when we went in we were able to get seated right away!

The menus is my favorite! It's like a book with great pictures and easy to feel book like material.

Last night we decided to dine in at oh my grill instead of taking it to go. I tried something different. It reminded me of my mom's caldareta and it did not disappoint. It was so delicious and was such a comfort food! I would definitely order it again. The gaugee was crispy, hot, and delicious. Although the wasabi sauce it was paired with was not something I enjoyed. This would've probably been better paired with a sweet chilli sauce. The trio plate wasn't bad either. I enjoyed the Teri beef. The Mac salad and rice side is a pretty basic side you'd normally get with these types of plates. All in all a good dinner and the server was attentive. No complaint on my end.

The hamburger steak here is so ono and hits the spot every single time! Their pork chop is also super good and flavorful. You definitely get your money's worth with the heavy plate portions here!

I've always seen these around but never got to try it until today. They have a few different locations but this one is next to Foodland in Pearl City across from Walmart. Lots of free parking in the shopping center. The menu is VERY extensive. They have normal plate lunch selections, breakfast, stir fry Chinese, and even mentaiko spaghetti! I wanted to try so many things but we got french toast, mochiko chicken, and the chicken katsu was on special so we tried it and it ended up being my favorite thing! Their katsu sauce is so good, thinner and has a little kick. Mac salad and rice on point. The mochiko chicken had good flavor but the chicken was a little too fatty for me. French toast was also good. Very fair prices and portions. They also have stamp cards where you get stamps if you pay cash! Unfortunatly I only found out after I paid but I will remember for next time! Need to try the other locations and other menu items!

Oh My Gosh.... Grill!! We love the food here! Homemade, and made with love!! Honestly, we've never had a bad experience at this location. We've tried a bunch of things on the menu here, and they're all great! From the hamburger steak to the mochiko chicken, and the orange chicken, awesome! The mentaiko spaghetti with shrimp is also amazing!!! I get that as a treat to myself every now and then since it's a little pricey. The people we've encountered here have always been friendly and helpful. The service is also fast and efficient, for take out. I've never actually eaten inside. We'll be coming back here again and again. And again and again....

We came in about almost 5-10min to 9pm. Super slow. Only 4 other tables of couples & some had their food already. PARKING: big parking lot so don't worry don't finding parking. SERVICE:They had so much workers but we had to always flag them down. Never came up to us to ask about are food, or refills. My daughter loved the locomoco, my other half got the mochiko & it was ok. My brother didn't really like the taste of the pork chop, he said he thinks it tasted like fish not pork. My waygu burger I wanted it to be bomb dot com but it literally tasted like any other burger I've had. I've been seeing this place all over social media but the hype was not real. It was ok. I love how the inside looks. My son was impressed with the fake fire lights. They do ask you if you wanna sit on the cold side or warm side & we chose the cold side. Would we come back? Yes but once in a great while or if we're in the area late night.

Oct 2025 Special Chicken Katsu (Regular - $9.99)
    Rod U.

The newest, rapidly expanding, and easily best of the big three Chinese plate lunch spots on Island. The other two being L&L and Loco Moco. Keep your expectations in check. This isn't an old school place with decades of history or an up end spot with a true chef behind it. Just local plate lunch staples, Chinese style. Expect Chinese spics in the curry and stew, dark soy sauce marinated teriyaki items, bought in premade breaded shrimp, and sweet / sour katsu sauce. Get a mixed plate and you'll end up with curry on rice, topped with teri beef topped by a hamburger steak with gravy over all. All good, get's mixed up in the stomach right? So why is it the "best" of the chains? - Perfectly braised, fork tender, not dry and stringy beef in the curry. Said curry is also loaded with melting root veg. - Well seasoned, not rubbery, house made hamburger steak. - Well made dripping brown gravy. Not packaged. - Well cooked chicken katsu. Crisp, not oily, juicy and well seasoned. There are misses like using a dirt cheap cut for the teri beef with so much sinew that you'll think it's your dog's chew toy. Check their website for monthly specials. (The Oct 2025 is a regular chicken katsu plate for just $9.99). Online ordering a huge plus. It won't wow but when sustenance is important, this delivers a better meal than the rest.

Everything looked appealing and appetizing to the eye, but we were met with disappointment on multiple dishes. With Da Bite, you get a flight of three smaller portions of entrees: 1) the waygu loco moco meat was overcooked and the gravy was just salty; 2) crab benedict was more breading than crab so once you bit in, it was quite mealy underneath the initial crunch. The lack of crab could easily go unnoticed when smothered in sauce. 3) Ube pancakes with ube marscapone... the marscapone was delicious, but the pancakes lacked fluff and moisture. The kids pancakes also had the similar spongey dry texture and my nephew chose to only eat half the portion. We also had the Longsilog, which is a sweet sausage, but it was overly sweet for my taste. All in all, the food was just all right for the hype. Maybe we would've enjoyed it better if we hadn't already experienced better versions of similar menu items that set the bar earlier on the trip.

My personal favorite was the honey butter chicken and waffles. That chicken was so well marinated and fried to perfection. I saw a news story on the wall that the owner had worked at Roscoe's House of Chicken & Waffles. We've been to Roscoe's and this place's chicken was much better. The skin was perfectly crisp and the honey butter sauce was only slightly sweet which added a bit of flavor but did not overwhelm you with sweetness. My kids ate up the chicken meat and I was happy to enjoy the crisp chicken skin by itself. My wife also really enjoyed the waffles and found them to be quite flavorful, again preferring them over what you would get at Roscoe's. The gravy on the loco moco was fantastic and perfectly paired with the rice. My son ordered the churro waffles and was happy with his selection. For me, though, I dream of that crisp chicken skin. But our second time was a mellow Wednesday for lunch and while the timing was better (still not synced), the food was either meh or completely shameful. Yes, shameful! Wife got the Caesar salad with char siu chicken katsu. The chicken was ono but the salad was lazy. Basic greens with a low-quality bottled sauce squeezed on top. No wonder it came out five minutes before mine. I got the fish tacos with tots (extra $2), and this dish was the most egregious rip off I've ever seen in a restaurant. No wonder the server dropped it and ran. For $18, I got three street taco-sized flour tortillas, goopy mayo-laden "slaw", and pico with a teeny tiny piece of fish on top. See the pics! Smaller than my thumb. Barely two tater tots in size. And because it was plopped into mayo slaw, it was soggy on arrival. The fish was also suspiciously fishy tasting. I debated eating it. I ended up making one taco with all the fish and a potato taco with some tots before finally giving up. I know things are tough for restaurants right now. But this was ridiculous. I paid and left and called it a lesson learned. I'll likely stick to the Pucks Alley location from now on. Still some pride in what they serve there.

Dinner in Aiea, O'ahu, Hawai'i…read more.. On Saturday evenings, my casual foodie group (with my 89 year old auntie) tries various restaurants. Sometimes auntie can't join me, so we've added a guy from the Philippines and a gal from the mainland. Both of them are quite open to new foods and places. I told them about Kapiolani Coffee Shop and that I had never been here before, even though I lived here (basically) all of my life. Kapiolani Coffee Shop is an iconic, Old School institution that started in the late 1940s. If you like the cozy diner vibe, this it... in a local form... and it's NOT just a coffee shop that's open for breakfast only. They even have a takeout window for those who don't want to dine in. The mainland gal poked her head in on the restaurant side and thought that we were in the wrong place because there are only nine tables inside. She was surprised at the size of the place. Yes... it's intimate. We told them that we're a party of three and waited a few minutes for a table to open up. Soon after we were seated, our Filipino friend started speaking Tagolog to the bus boy. Our server was friendly and patient with us! It was a nice, calm, comfy environment! Of course, I had to get the famous Oxtail Soup. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender! The broth was delicious! I appreciate the few peanuts, a couple of pieces of star anise, and generous amount of cilantro in the soup! Our Filipino friend enjoyed his succulent pot roast and the gal from the mainland took half of her yummy corned beef and cabbage home because the portion was so large! Thanks for a great foodie adventure! The free, shared parking was an added plus at Waimalu Shopping Center!

We got there around 2pm, had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. We ordered oxtail soup, pigs feet soup, steak w/ onions and mushrooms, calamari, Kim chee and fries. First thing to come out was the steak for our son, few minutes later the fries and calamari came out. This is where everything went wrong, maybe about 10 minutes later my son was done eating, our waitress comes by and says the soups will be coming out shortly, 5 minutes pass, 8 minutes pass, I had to ask the girl at the register how much longer on the food, she says about 10 more minutes..... Wife and I decided it was too much to wait 10 more minutes, so I walked up to the counter to cash out, told her we'll pay for what we were served. Manager (I'm assuming) came out and said sorry the oxtail is not soft enough and will need about 10 minutes more (quality control?) we said nevermind it's been too long, and I'll just pay the bill, side note we was charged the kim chee and didn't get it so I had the girl remove it from the bill. My question is, how does a place that boast about their oxtail soup run out??? Granted it was 2:00 Sunday, they do have a take out window and they close at 9pm, someone should have been preparing the next batch before the pot ran dry. If it was handled better maybe we would've waited for it to be cooked, but I had to inquire about our soups instead of someone informing us on what is going on in the kitchen. I get places don't want to overcook to lose money, but at 2:30 and no oxtail?!?!?! Go figure. As for the food my son had, steak was good, but wasn't worth a $29.00 steak plate, calamari was a little overpriced too, but then again it's Hawaii.

Opened in 1947, the Forty Niner offers a selection of local fairs like saimin , loco moco, furikake salmon, taro sweetbread French toast and hamburgers for the less adventurous. The service is mixed - place your order at the front counter and wait at a table for service. But, the staff is wonderful. Ambiance? The Forty Niner is in a small building that has about 7 or 8 tables inside and a few more on the back patio. It has a simple, local atmosphere. But, it is on our list of places we try to get to every time we are in Hawaii.

This was my third time eating at/food from Forty Niner, and I was really hoping that my review…read morewould get better with time. I would say that Forty Niner is a great place to get the bang for your buck in terms of pricing for their food, but I will say that the quality of the food isn't as great as it's presented on their ordering site, Beluga. Today, my husband and I chose to do takeout and ordered three things: The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Chorizo Hash, and the Molokai Loco Moco. For the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, the lemon taste was pretty concentrated in the middle of the pancake/not well distributed and we couldn't really taste the ricotta flavor, but it was pleasantly sweet (not too sweet). For the Chorizo Hash, I was a little bit sad that it wasn't very flavorful and the Chorizo wasn't well cooked. The Molokai Loco Moco's flavor receives the same review as the Chorizo Hash; although it was special/the first time we'd had Loco Moco like that, it was pretty soggy/watery and lacked flavor. The food itself in my opinion gets a 3.5/5, but because they were timely and friendly as a staff, I'm bumping our review up to a 4! P.S: This location is in the corner of a neighborhood street and Kam Hwy and the parking is pretty small/limited!

(There were a LOT of people waiting!) Lady calling out names as tables were ready really seemed to enjoy her job. Her intonation was pleasant to listen to, and she was easy to understand, nice and loud. Names were being called out at a good pace so tables were clearing quickly. Guess the breakfast/brunch folks were all leaving around that time. Just under 20 minutes my name was called and as soon as we entered the door from waiting on a bench outside there was a hostess ready to seat us. After seating us she asked about drinks and very quickly brought hubby's Dr. Pepper and my Coke Zero (no ice). Mine had a lemon in it, which turns out to be the signal it's a Coke Zero. Added nice flavor, too. She said our server would be right with us, and we had just enough time to scan the menu then our server Alicia came to our table. We ordered immediately and our food came in record time. Hubby's pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon, no butter had tall fluffy pancakes, and no butter. (Some places forget, but not here.) My Salmon Benedict came with eggs poached perfectly, yolks runny, as it should be. I ordered my hash browns "crispy" and they were perfectly crisp on both sides. (Not every place crisps hash browns on both sides...) Alicia came at just the right time to check on us and ask if I wanted my soda refilled. She looked at it and asked if it was a Coke Zero, so the lemon must be the signal. She was very busy (it was bustling inside) but managed to stop by at all the right times. Friendly but no chit chat since it was super busy, very efficient, which was perfect for us. She came by just when we were done and asked if I needed a box for my food, and we asked if we could order a slice of pie to go. Hubby wanted the fresh strawberry pie which is in season. She suggested the strawberry tart, which suited him just fine. I asked if they still had fresh peach pie and she again suggested the tart. Alicia brought our 2 tarts in a paper bag and said she included forks and napkins. She had given me a paper bag for my Benedict but I wanted to help the environment and we were trying to fit it with the tarts. She was eagle eyed and called out to us that she would bring another bag. We explained we just wanted to not waste a bag and showed her the unopened one she had brought with my box. She was amazing. Looking forward to the next time we visit. Hope we get her as our server again. Got home and while the tarts are for dessert tonight, I wanted to enjoy the freshness of the tart crust so I snuck a piece. The crust was so good! And the fresh peaches were great, too. Always better than canned. The yards are really almost like a slice and a half of pie and and neater than taking home a slice, so it's a good deal. Pies are expensive because making pie crusts takes time, so getting extra crust in a tart is great. Hope our next visit goes as well as today's. Thinking of getting the chicken pot pie next time!

6/11/26 Stopped by to pick up some pie. Had not been here in years but it was always the go-to…read moreplace whenever you wanted pie because they had such a huge selection to choose from. Not so much anymore, especially since covid. And, they only carry certain pies daily and add more selection on the weekends. Customer service was still spot on. When I approached the pie area, I was greeted by a warm and friendly gal. I was only buying 2 slices of pie - banana cream and macadamia nut cream. I was told that the macadamia nut cream pie was only made on the weekends. Ok, I asked if I can still be it by the slice on the weekend and she told me that it is only sold whole. That was a big disappointment because that was my favorite pie there but did not want to get a whole pie. They did have the banana cream and I was able to get by the slice. I ended up getting a slice of custard pie for my 2nd choice. The gal did show me the sign by the register of what pies are available for slice for that day, which wasn't a lot. Both pies tasted ok, nothing special. The banana cream had a few slices of real banana, which was nice. The pie crust was on the thick side and tasted pretty dry. It wasn't the best banana cream pie I've had .The custard pie was meh, didn't have a real good custardy taste and the crust was the same as the banana cream. Overall, the customer service was good and I probably will go elsewhere for pies.
