I have come to this restaurant on multiple occasions, for Sunday breakfast and after parties, and all I can say is that I am absolutely disgusted by my last experience. My friends and I came here one afternoon a couple of weeks ago and had a terrible experience. My friends and I ordered fries and gravy along with other food, which even though is a normal teen late night diner snack was absolutely disgusting. There were insects in our gravy and hair in our fries. When I told our waiter, he was so understanding and took them right away from us, gave us new gravy and fries, and took everything right off the bill. On the other hand, the manager decided to blame it on me and my friends saying we were taking our hair and putting it in the food and playing around. He brought up the security cameras and said "we took insects and hair and threw it in our food". He then proceeded to yell at me and my friends and say we were being kids. Meanwhile, if we were adults this whole situation would have gone in another direction. We payed the full bill and gave a great tip, but being yelled at by the hostess and manager was extremely unprofessional and disgusting. I do not recommend this place whosoever and would go anywhere else before coming back here again. read more

Everything was delicious. Place was fancier than a typical diner, but the quality of food lived up to the cost. Turkey burger was fantastic. Super clean inside, nice comfy seating. Didn't even need to request a booth (had a very sleepy 3 year old in our party), the waitstaff actually suggested we wait while they cleaned a booth so we didn't have to seat said 3 year old in a chair. In the past, I have always had an exceptional experience at this establishment. The last time I came, it was way below standard. For starters, we had ordered fries with gravy. It arrived at the table with a fly floating at the top. After bringing this to the waiter's attention, he claimed that this was not the case and we were seeing a burnt french fry, which it clearly wasn't. This could also be made apparent from the multiple flies circling the table and sticking to the walls. Already fed up, we decided to let it go and continue with our meal. One of my friends had ordered the chicken noodle soup for us to split. Moving the bowl off of the plate served on, we were disgusted to see 2 strands of short, black, men's hair. Again, we brought it to our waiter's attention, who initially showed sympathy but came back with another server and video footage, which showed us being absolutely repulsed by our discovery. He claimed that we brought the flies with us and intentionally placed the hairs on the plate, even when none of us had this kind of hair. We were disrespected as a whole and belittled by the entire staff. Blaming their faults on their customers is something that should never be seen in an establishment such as this. Their behavior completely lacked hospitality and was EXTREMELY unprofessional. We will DEFINITELY be finding a new breakfast spot for the near future. read more

OMG! Thank you Mamaroneck Diner for opening up this place ( Just recently found that out) I work in New Rochelle and i'm so happy I don't have to travel to Mamaroneck for my favorite foods. I tried something new this week, The California Burger, avocado, bacon, onions, tomatoes etc...i have to stop talking because i'm getting hungry! You guys have to try it. Make sure you go to the bathroom before you go! The door opens only a tad bit and you have to be very slim to fit. My guest is 5 foot and 100lbs and could not fit! My English muffin was tasteless. The eggs were tiny on it. I will not be back. read more

(When we were leaving, there was a bit of a wait) I ordered the texas breakfast sandwich. It was a huge portion and came with some very crispy potatoes. I think I've finally found a 24-hour diner here in lower Westchester that serves good food! We've been here several times, for breakfast, brunch, and very late dinner and each time the service has been attentive. We've been seated quickly. Simply the best diner I've ever been to. My friends and I went to this diner on a weekly basis in high school and continue to consider the BLD as our home base when we all return to Westchester on our breaks from college. Super Diner Experience We're always looking for places to stop near I95 or the Hutchinson River Parkway in Westchester on our way to the Berkshires. Other diners could learn so much from this establishment. Lazaro, our waiter, was first rate. He remembered everything, asked if we wanted bread before bringing it (I don't; too tempting), waited until we had eaten a little before asking if everything was ok and was very attentive concerning soda refills. Review for delivery services only. While I'm normally very happy with my service from this diner (when I eat there) tonight's delivery was shameful. After placing my order I was told 25-30 minutes which is average considering my close distance to the location. After waiting 50 minutes I called and was told they were "suddenly slammed with other deliveries" and my order was on the way. They finally arrived after an hour passed. Unfortunately the food (1 sandwich and 1 order of onion rings) was cold and soggy Aka disgusting. When I called back to complain I was told sorry, I should have told you an hour. The first time I went there, the food was barely ok, and the staff were clueless about even the basics of their menu selections. Since then, I have been back there a number of times. The food and service have improved considerably. When I saw a full parking lot and a line up to get seated before 10:30am on a Sunday, I had a feeling this place was going to be good. Even so, I was not expecting it to be probably the best diner I have ever been to. Their menu is much shorter than most diners but all the really good stuff you would expect is there and more. Paninis, omelettes, burgers, eggs, etc...I had the Stuffed French toast and a side of corned beef hash. Corned beef has unparalleled, they use stringed corned beef and it was delicious. I had expected more on both visits, since what used to be the Larchmont Diner, and is now the BLD Diner, is run by the folks who run the popular Mamaroneck Diner. Besides the limited menu that sorely misses Mamaroneck Diner favorites such as their pizza--but we were warned about that in advance--the food just was not very good. None of the four of us liked it. Even the French fries weren't good--they were really hard, hard, not crisp. The pita bread that came with the souvlaki was the same, like a pita crisp, not like warm pita bread at all. Beware sitting in a booth next to the big glass windows on a cold day, like yesterday, after the October snow--it's remarkably cold there, as if, when they renovated, the new owners forgot the insulation and to add heat along the outside walls. We moved to a table near the center--even there the ceiling vent produced a constant breeze, as if the owners are trying to heat the place from the ceiling down, not from the floor up. Several patrons sat in booths wearing their coats. The Nautilus Diner, two miles away, is much better, and much warmer, even in the booths at the windows, or, if you really want Mamaroneck Diner food, go there. read more
