I got the Nonna Maria pizza here and was blown away. The crust is absolutely amazing the ingredients were super fresh. This is one of the places I would say sets the standard for what NY pizza should be like. Decent amount of seating. It's quite busy so make sure you know your order before getting to order. Would definitely come back again in the future! read more

This is a solid traditional NY pizza. Had a slice of pepperoni. No longer trendy so no lineup on a Friday around noon. Slice reheated but pizza was likely made within the hour. It was definitely good, just not so inspiring that I'd go out my way to get it again. When I think of good NY pizza this is it. Some seating available outside. read more

This is a long-running pizza institution in the Village for a reason. Compared to some other spots, you don't go here for a plain slice. It's plainly above average, with a particularly good crust that is crispy without being too burnt, with a pretty good tomato sauce and standard cheese. It folds properly, it isn't too salty, and overall it's a good slice at a reasonable price. You instead go here for the Nonna Maria, which is $4.16 pre-tax. It's the same thin crust, but with fresh buffalo mozzarella, homemade marinara sauce, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and fresh basil. Compared to the plain slice, it feels a bit lighter, being closer to a grandma slice, but not exactly, as along with the herbs, there's a lot more fresh tomato. Short review for an excellent slice. The Nonna gets a mid-4 while the plain and others get a mid-3. read more

Loved their signature chicken parm pizza!!!!! A nice thin slice of pizza (each slice is pretty large), with crunchy pieces of chicken and juicy chunks of tomato on top. What made this experience 10/10 wasn't even the pizza, but meeting Gary (the old owner). He saw us looking at some of the photos on the wall and walked up to us to say hello. We stood and ate our pizza and talked to him for half an hour, it really made our time at this location special (and we felt lucky meeting him, because he only works on Fridays)! read more

The most recent pie I had was not the thin delicious crust that I remember, but a thick bready version that felt more like Sbarro's in a mall. What the f### happened? The sauce was still quite good and the cheese was fine, but I can't get over the dough. Only positive note to the visit was that the garlic knots were not bad. I'll hit up this establishment again when I have the chance to allow them to redeem themselves. I ordered 15 pizzas from Bleecker Street for an event recently and it was a great experience!! Everyone really enjoyed the pizzas - I loved the pepperoni and nonna slices I tried. And I got a bunch of compliments from folks attending the event on the pizza! I spoke with the staff twice to ensure everything was set about a day before the event. A fantastic spot to stop in for pizza! Prices were reasonable (roughly $5/slice) and service was fast. There are tons of places in NYC boasting long lines, but we came in on a Sunday afternoon and waited about 5 minutes total after ordering at the register to getting our pizza. Seating is rough, but we were able to snag a spot. Now I'm not from the area and am no pizza expert, but the crust was crisp, the toppings were flavorful, and portion was generous. Will definitely drop by next time I visit NYC! read more

The first stop on our NYC pizza tour and it did not disappoint. The slices were massive, piping hot, and super cheesy. We got a Nonna Maria Pizza and Pepperoni Pie, and to my surprise the Pepperoni was my favorite of the two. The Pepperoni had a mild spice to it and the cheese was gooey but still cooked with some nice golden spots. This was one of the shorter waits we had at any of the spots we stopped in. There were only a handful of people in line ahead of us on a warm weekend day. All the seating inside and on the patio was taken, but we were able to eat at the high top table/bar along the line. read more

Do NOT get a slice from here, I went after comedy cellar to get a slice of pepperoni and mushrooms and three hours later I was on the floor with the worst food poisoning I've ever had. I commented that the pizza didn't seem like they re-warmed it up but was assured it was fine. It was not fine, I have been throwing up non-stop from this pizza place and I am super disappointed since it comes so highly rated. We were originally going to another pizza spot nearby but the couple in front of us in line said they were going to go here instead because they had it before and would rather get pizza where they knew it was good than wait for pizza that they weren't sure about. We decided to split our group and get pizza from both places. Bleecker st is slightly cheaper and taste was comparable. The best part was that there was barely a line. Also there was seating inside and outside which was great to get out of the cold. How can you go wrong with NYC pizza? Basically impossible. The margherita slice is excellent, with a chunky red sauce--I forgot to take pics because it was that good. The pepperoni slice was solid too, nice crispy bites. The dough is super light, which I loved. The grandma slice, though... very soggy and not great. They make a decent Sicilian slice for a place mostly used by tourist since it's near the stonewall inn. The cheese and sauce was pretty good. Theres limited seating and they have a one small bathroom so I would say take it to go if possible. It's a good place if you don't want to look for better places read more

The number three stop on our self created pizza tour. This place was unfortunately a miss for us and ranked last out of our spots we visited. The good thing for this one was that it was not busy and had plenty of seating inside so we could take a break. The pizza itself was OK but not anything that I would make a special trip for. It seemed pretty standard. They're known for their Nona slice, but it didn't really hit the spot with us. We also grabbed a meatball and a white slice. Neither of which were particularly great. The pizza slices were all a bit floppy, and they were definitely the greasiest of the bunch that we had tried. If you're in the area and wanting to try out a few, may opt for a single slice at this spot, but if you're already visiting a number of other ones, this one is definitely OK to skip. read more

Finally tried out Bleeker street pizza as I passed it hundreds of times. Upon entering I was welcomed by a plethora of different pizzas. So many but there can be only one to make a lasting impression. I went for upside down variant. Happy to say it was an outstanding choice. The crust was soft and flakey around the edges. The sauce was thick and garlicky. I enjoy and savored every bite. Customer service is on point as well. The space was clean and offered cool vibe. Needless to say I will be returning indefinitely. If it's a late night, Bleecker Street Pizza would hit every time, especially if I was drunk. However, if we're comparing this spot to just the other spots on this street, Bleecker Street is just fine. The crust is VERY thin, almost cracker-like, but the slices heat up pretty well. I'd say this is the best version of not-great pizza if you know what I mean. Not ever going to be in the same conversation with L'Industrie, but it's 4 bucks cheaper and WAY BETTER THAN JOE'S I SAID IT. No line at 2PM on a Thursday and the store is pretty big with plenty of seating. I actually thoroughly enjoyed the Margherita slice, but everything else was pretty much exactly what you'd expect. BBQ Chicken had the exact flavor profile you want - a little tangy and plenty of sauce. Hawaiian and Cheese were the most meh of the pack. read more

Stopped by here on a whim the other day and wow, so glad I did! The place is has an old school feel when you walk in. Green tile on the walls, a slice case full of beautiful pies, and a good drink selection. The woman at the counter was friendly and patient with us as we sorted out what we wanted. Not long after that, our slices were ready. The Nonna Marie I had heard was the slice to get and that is the truth. A perfect balance of crust, sauce and cheese. The sauce? So savory, slightly chunky, I couldnt get enough. Definitely one of the top slices I had during my trip to the city. For dessert, we had the basque cheesecake which was alright, but I'm not the biggest fan of cheesecake. Overall, we had a great time at Ci Siamo and I would definitely recommend ordering the focaccia and onion torta and we could have skipped the carrots, beans, trout, and tagliatelle.

The side of broccoli rabe was also so bad and forgettable. The stems were tough to chew, there was no salt and not a single speck of garlic in this dish. This is one of the priciest, grossest plates of pasta and vegetables I have ever had in the city. My friend ordered the eggs Florentine and said it was A-okay. Service was good and food came out on time but honestly I would not dine here again. They really need to step up their food quality if they want to continue doing business in the city.

In heaven, pizza will be served 24/7 and will be considered a diet food. In our reality though, I try to be choosey when it comes to my carb-laden, greasy, meaty slice cravings. Years ago when I first unlocked the doors to my MacDougal apartment, Bleecker Street was on speed dial. They were my 'za and delivery numero uno. The guys working there were always upbeat, service quick, prices reasonable and slices - oh mamaa. But recently, they've gotten sloppy and honestly, sorta miserable. I recently stopped in for a slice on a cold night - my pepperoni triangle set me back about $5. Yikes, this 'hood is getting greener. Then I tried to find a spot to grub down but there were so many tourists gathered around tables trying to stay warm -- long finished with their eats and wide eyed staring at the wall decorations -- I had to stand against a wall to prop up my dripping wet and greasy pizza. Throughout all of this, the guys behind the counter looked/acted like they wanted to murder each and every one of their customers. This might've been an off night, but then a few weeks later I ordered delivery, it never came and when I called to complain they told me that they'd canceled my order because the restaurant was too busy. Okay, never heard that reasoning before but why not give me a call to let me know? Click. In NYC there's a lot of pizza to be consumed. Our shopping expeditions to the Village always include an enjoyable stop at Bleecker Street pizza. We all have our own favorite slice but mine is the Grandma. The Grandma is a thick , square slice with unbeatable homemade marinara sauce , mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. Every slice here is about perfect : the mushrooms slice is made with fresh mushrooms and their plain slice is anything but plain. Their Nona Maria slice is VERY popular. We noticed that customers are willing to stand around waiting for the next hot & fresh Nona Maria pie to come out of the oven. When it comes out every slice is scarfed up in like, two minutes. We have found that the staff is happy to tell you about what is on each of their pies or about the heros , dinners or salads they make fresh to order. The story of Bleeker Street Pizza is quite interesting, as told to us by the Owner. He is a retired NYC Police Captain and wanted to start a business and try to recreate his Nonna's pizza, which she made for the family every Sunday. The family thought he was nuts because he knew nothing about making pizza or how to run a business. He only knew he liked to eat her pizza and wanted to show the City how great it was. He put his mind to it and persevered! The pizza is made with only fresh ingredients and it definitely shines through. Cheese is imported from Italy and the sauce, homemade, just the way his Nonna used to do it. Fresh basil is added for flavor as well as secret spices on the bottom of the crust that add flavor as well. We thought it was delicious and would definitely recommend to go and check it out. It does sit on a very busy corner in a very small shop. read more

The food is still top notch, but the service really leaves something to be desired. This is a gripe that I have had with Bleecker for about a year now. Some days, the people working the counter are friendly, efficient, and delightful. Other days they are downright rude, sloppy, and make you feel like they are doing you a favor for accepting your business. I will still continue to go here no matter what, but I wish they would do something about the bad apples amongst the staff. It is also worth noting that your pie will differ depending on who makes it. Bleecker St has 2 veterans making the pies that have been there since I can remember, the rest are transient kitchen staff. If you are a regular patron, you will see exactly what I am talking about after a couple visits. read more

I recently visited Bleecker Street Pizza and had the opportunity to try their NY style pizza for the first time as a tourist from the west coast. Let me tell you, I was thoroughly impressed! I decided to go all out and ordered four slices: veggie, pepperoni, cheese, and chipotle chicken. The first thing that struck me was the size of the slices--they were huge! But what really won me over was the impeccable balance of sauce to cheese. The pizza had just the right amount of both, without being overly saucy or cheesy, and it sat perfectly on the thin crust without becoming soggy. I highly recommend trying Bleecker Street Pizza if you find yourself in the area. It's an experience you definitely don't want to miss, especially if you're a fan of NY style pizza. read more

Bleecker Street Pizza is an absolute treasure in NYC! As soon as we stepped in, we were greeted by Greg, the previous owner, who treated us like family. His sweet nature and thoughtful recommendations made our experience unforgettable, not only for the food but for exploring the city as well. The service from the staff was impeccable; everyone was so friendly and eager to help. We ordered half Nonna Maria and half pepperoni, and it was simply divine. The crust was crispy yet tender, and the combination of sweet and savory sauce with the fluffy mozzarella and fresh basil was perfection. This pizza set such a high standard that everything else we tried fell short. I can't wait to go back to NYC, solely for the amazing pizza at Bleecker Street! read more

I'm not about to start pointing fingers at whether this is the BEST pizza slice in NYC. There's just no point because like politics, that argument can go on for days. However, I will say that I love this place! I come here frequently to get a slice or two and I bring my friends and family here any chance I get. The pizza is perfect (for me, at least.) It's delicious and cheesy with a very complimentary sauce. This tiny joint is a find and a must try. It's a very small space but I think that's what adds to the uniqueness of it. My mom loves getting the Nonna, and I keep it simple with Pepperoni. The food is delicious to the point of cravings. She requires it every time she comes into town! And I very happily oblige. read more

One of my most favorite pizza joints in NY. I've been going here for few years now, I live about 20 mins away from the shop but sometimes walk or ride my bike here because I know I would never be disappointed. Pizza is always fresh, cheese is top quality, you don't see grease dripping down. They use fresh mushroom, never from a can. I like all the toppings, some of my favorites are Mushroom, Marinara, Grandma and sometimes White. You never see a pie or a slice sitting there for more than 10 mins because they go really fast. The staff are nice and funny, I sometimes chat with the man with the tattoos who works night times at the register, he is one of New York's admired old school cops. Definitely recommended. read more

We read a recommendation from Sam Sifton , the NY Times food critic about Bleecker Street Pizza so we HAD to give it a try ! The mention was in the newspapers leisure section about 3 Fridays ago and it said that when visiting Greenwich Village , getting a slice there was NOT to be missed. This pizza place is a smallish place full of HAPPY , HAPPY pizza lovers ! The best slices of many good choices are the Granda and the Nona Maria. The Grandma is an awesome version of Sicilian with thick & rich sauce and freah basil. The Nona Maria is fresh mozzaella , home -style Marinara and the best basil we ever tried. It's a thin slice that is more than worth a trip to try ! read more

WOW!!!! So yummy! First time I came to Bleeker Street Pizza was by sheer luck. My friend and I were hungry, we were walking through Greenwhich Village and we saw pizza and ran for it! Little did we know how delicious is was going to be! Last week I was on a school trip with my students and told them "You want delicious pizza? Follow me!" We walked from Canal and Broadway to the pizzeria and not a single kid in the group complained about the distance once they tasted the deliciousness that is Bleeker Street Pizza! The Nonna pizza is fantastico! Thanks Greg and the whole gang for serving such delicious, ooey, gooey authentic Italian pizza! I give it ten thumbs up! read more

We were sitting in Bleecker Street Pizza when a tasting tour group came in with about 20 tourists from all around the world. We listened in to the tour guide's speech about how pizza is made here and why Bleecker Street Pizza is the best the City has to offer. The pizza they tasted was called Grandma . It's rectangular , thick -crusted and has a rich marinara sauce and fresh Basil flown in from Israel. The tourists loved the Grandma pizza and many said so with nods and smiles. Because we were there when a tour came in ( and we are told it has several times a day ) our visit to Bleecker was more than just excellent pizza - it was entertaining & interesting ! read more
