Usually Bliss Nails is a very good nail salon and they take their time and make sure the nails are what the customer wants. However, this visit, I was getting my nails done for my high school graduation in a week which I specified to them before coming in to make sure that my nails would look their best. I left with wet, smudged, uneven, crooked nails that I will have to re-do myself or pay more money to go somewhere else before my graduation anyways. I was disappointed that I got charged the same amount of money, regardless of how my nails turned out. I really dislike my nails. read more

Great experience. I've walked by this place many times but finally tried it today. There was no wait so my pedicure started immediately. She took great care to make sure I had the massage chair set to my liking and the water was the perfect temperature. The actual pedicure was awesome. She was gentle yet firm while scraping my feet. After that was complete, there was a short hot stone massage on my legs. She then painted my toes and we moved to the manicure area. The no-chip manicure was also great. I pick at my cuticles and she gently worked around that to clean everything up. To top it off, we finished with a nice shoulder massage while my feet were in the dryer. Sure, I'll be the first to review Bliss Nail Spa! When I moved to Elmhurst from Chicago one of the saddest parts was leaving behind my favorite nail salon (I miss you Pinkys!) I tried 4 salons in the area before finally being happy with Bliss. It's very clean and modern. The staff is nice and they do a great job. The pedicure never feels rushed (my biggest pet peeve) and they really scrub my heels (which I need from wearing flip flops 24/7). You get the good sugar scrub, the hot towel treatment and a mini massage after your manicure. The color lasts 2 weeks on my toes and a full week on my hands (which is great considering how I abuse them). I've started getting my brows waxed there too and they do a very nice job in that department as well. read more

Brand new facility, extremely clean. Great pedicure. Manicures could use some work. My nails were filed crooked, some filed square, others filed round, which makes for a very funny-looking manicure once the polish goes on..plus the polish job had tons of air bubbles. However, in my experience, the quality of your mani/pedi really does depend on the technician.. will perhaps try someone different next time. Can't beat the weekday special price though-- $35 for mani/pedi on Mon-Wed. Will give this place another go simply for the cleanliness and friendly staff, and will keep my fingers crossed for a more experienced technician next time! :) But overall, a solid nail salon! read more

Not impressed. She cut my cuticles which led to painful peeling for days after. She also filed the nail bed, presumably to allow the polish to adhere better. But there's a reason I get regular manicures over gel, and she weakened my nails. Manicure chipped 2 days later. PEDICURE is completely chipped after 10 days. I went here one evening for an acrylic fill-in that required 5 new nails. I really liked the service, the mini hand massage and mini neck/back massage afterwards and was happy with the product. Within 24 hours one of the new nails popped off. I went back the next day and asked them to fix it. They tried to charge me $5.00. I said no because it was only 1 day old and that's not right. After talking "around" me for a minute one lady finally sat down and fixed it, all the while talking about me with another worker because she kept asking me questions then relaying the answers. Within 2 more days that nail plus 3 others had popped. I'm never going back there again. read more

Save yourself the trouble and buy a ped egg.... Come here if you want a sloppy little manicure. If you want some real nail service, neat filing, modern polish, and quality pedicure GO ELSEWHERE! No one could understand a d*mn thing I was saying. My hands were so dry when I left and my heels felt like rocks. There were also crack marks in my feet. All of my nails were crooked with polish on my finger tips. Where I'm from, the nail techs soak your hands until the dead skin peels off! And polish/ file/ design the Heck out of your nails! You leave with hands looking and feeling like Beyonces. There were so many things wrong here I just kept my mouth shut and my tip in pocket, went home and fixed my nails. Bring your little kids here for a kiddy manicure but find a REAL salon if you want professionally finished nails that rock!! Or if you speak mandarin maybe you can get what you want. read more

NEVER AGAIN. I've gone to Bliss several times since it opened. I kept going back thinking "this time it'll be better", which it never was. The service is mediocre and the staff is less than friendly. I always feel like they are rushing to be done with me and on to the next client. After my last experience, I will NOT be going back. My daughter and I stopped in to get a manicure. At the time everyone was busy helping other customer, which is understandable. They directed us to a chair and we waited. While we were seated three other people walked in behind us. One staff member began my daughter's manicure, but then as workers were freed up, they began working with the clients who walked in after us, leaving me sitting there, waiting. I reminded them I was waiting for a manicure and "ok" was the response I got. After they were well on their way to helping the three people who walked in behind me, someone walked over and asked me what I would like done. By then my daughter's manicure was almost finished and I said "no thank you". I politely let them know how I felt and that I would not be coming back. They really didn't seem to mind. I went to Bliss Nail & Spa on Tuesday 3/23 it is now Thursday 3/25 as I'm writing this review. First of all when we got to the salon it didn't take long for a nail technician to take me, but I had a reservation. I only scheduled a manicure while my Mom had a no chip and pedicure, and my sister had a mani-pedi. When the manicure started everything was going well. The service was fine could've been better, but the woman doing my nails kept leaving to answer the phone. By the time she took 3 phone calls my sister and moms pedicure was already done. Talk about rushed service. Once most of my nails were done with the first coat another woman switched in to do the second coat. Why? I have no idea. It looked very see through though so I asked if she can put another coat. She was already doing the top coat and she got frustrated. She said that it was fine and I didn't need another coat. Not in a understanding kind way you would expect instead it was a snappy, rude, moody teenager way. She then proceeded to switch to another nail technician once more. At this point my mom and sisters manicures are already done. One of which was a no chip. Once it was done I let it dry plenty of time. Everything was good and we left. The next morning though my nails looked see through but no chips in the paint. Today as I'm writing this review there are multiple chips in my nails. Although it wasn't a great experience they had drinks you could help yourself to, clean spaces, but the third nail technician pulled down her mask and blew on my nails. A few weeks later I brought my daughter for a mani-pedi and they did both services at the pedi station. Her pedi looked great but the polish on her mani was subpar. I don't think I'll be returning. It may be clean and modern but they are more expensive than average around the area. I also do not like the customer service you get. And when I went today I was not the only one dissatisfied. A mother came in very unhappy because she dropped her daughter and friends off to get manicures before back to school, they suggested a gel manicure and being 13 years old the girl said ya sure ( not knowing the price jumps up 25 dollars ). When it was time to pay, the girl had her own money and only had enough for the regular thinking it is the same price because no one said otherwise. They really shouldn't sneak little girls into something without letting them know ahead of time that it is more money. On to my problem with them: They missed a whole section of my toe, they do not know how to paint nails especially the man who works in there. Also before they even finish they hassle you to pay right then and there. I was paying for my sister and I and I was finished first so as soon as a I sat down the owner (male) came up to me and asked for the money and I said I Will pay when we are both done. Now I work at a salon, we do not force our customers to pay right when they get out of the chair. If they are waiting for someone or just want to sit at the spa for a little we wait to collect when they are leaving. Like a regular place should. They should not rush you out the door like that. Obviously I'm going to pay so do not hassle me while I'm trying to dry my toes and read a magazine. I mean rushing me off after paying such high prices is rude! Then before I left the owner lady said, did you tip? i said yes and shes telling me I didn't, which was first of all incorrect and second of all none of her business. If I could give this place 0 stars I would ... I went over there on Tuesday morning together with my friend no one said even hi or whatever Asian lady asked me what do I want ? So I responded manicure she said 5 minutes and someone will take me . I waited 25 minutes before my nail tech decided she will take me. Well sometime things happened so I was like whatever. I asked twice to make sure to cut my cuticles very short and not to be afraid to push them all the way. I didn't look at her job while she was doing it because I was having conversation with my friend who was next to me. After 40 minutes Erica ( that was her name ) told me she was done ... When I looked at my nails I almost got heart attack ... 25 minutes waiting 40 minutes of god only knows what she was doing and my nails looked worst then before I came in ... I asked her if she was new and also I asked to have someone else to re do my nails ... So another 30 minutes for different nail tech to do it again my manicure ... On the end of service I was told in very mean way to pay and this Asian lady asked me how much tip I will leave for them wtf for real !!!??? I asked to talk to owner and was told she wasn't in this morning , I also asked for Erica's license and found out this girl did not even have license ... Sweet Jesus it's unreal $15 for manicure that was done by person who has no license to do manicures ... I called owner later on ... Informed her about this situation . NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!! I have given this place more then ample opportunities! I went there on a Wednesday because the Nail Bar didn't have any openings that day. I just wanted a no chip shellac manicure. The first time the woman Sue was vert nice, but she never really timed my dry time under the light. A problem with these types of manicures if you aren't careful. So naturallys I was upset when it started to chip after 3 days. My no chip manicures from other places last up to 3+ weeks. I called right away and the man said to come in to fix. So I did...this time it was worse. Another girl kept screwing it up, putting thicker and thicker coats of polish on, left cotton on my nails and painted over it. I was there for over and hour - tipped her 20% anyway because that's the kind of person I am. The owner then proceeded to charge me another $35. When I reminded him again of why I was there he told me that I was there for an hour so he had to charge me. When I bawked again he said half price. I was already mad, so when I handed him my $20 bill to pay he said okay $20 and walked away. Never gave me my change and that was it. I stormed out of there vowin NEVER to return. This place is a train wreck. The worst salon experience of my life. When I arrived, I was dumped at a chair with COLD water filling in the bowl and absolutely no one saying anything to me after that. I was worried the bowl was going to overflow, but then it stopped on its own. The only things said in my direction were comments from other technicians in another language which I could not comprehend. I would have walked out had my feet not been wet. I'm embarrassed that I did not walk out --- my biggest regret in life. Zero service and the worst products and processes that make your hands and nails not much better than when you arrive. Hannah was my nail tech and she did an okay job but two days later my nail was chipping and a gel manicure was supposed to last 2 weeks. My mom got a gel manicure too and asked for her nails to only be filed down a little but the guy doing her nails cut them down so bad it looks like she bites/ chews her nails and it was strictly from a manicure and on top of that, they cut her finger and now she has puss under her fingernail because of the infection she got from the cut and had to go to the doctor. Very disappointed. I went in yesterday for the first time because someone bought me a gift card for a pedicure and an eyebrow wax. Only 25 minutes later (yes, that's all it took for both services) I walked out with feet that were scrubbed for about 5 seconds each, paint around the outside of my nails and a layer of skin missing from my eyebrows (which is going to look awesome for the wedding I am going to today). I am giving it two stars for cleanliness and a friendly welcome, other than that it was like a factory to just push people through without taking the time to make sure the guest is taken care of and happy. After picking out nail colors and waiting for over 35 minutes to be helped, they still hadn't said anything to me. I asked a women how much longer it would be for a mani pedi and she looked at me and ignored me. Then, a man told me that he couldn't get me in for another two hours. It was ridiculous. They had me wait for over half an hour and didn't think to tell me that they wouldn't be able to help me for another 2. Just based off of the staff I will never go back. I went to this place for a manicure and pedicure and I won't go back. I went with somebody who wanted to make the day special so we spent a lot of money. More than I've spent at any salon. What a regret. I got a no chip manicure and within a week, 9 of my nails had completely broken down to the skin. Painful! We decided to do an eyebrow wax while we were there. Needless to say, I never was even able to get in to get my nails done because every time I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT and come in for it, they turn me away saying I never called. Hate to be the type to say that the customers always right, but seriously, there's no need to argue with me and I literally called ten minutes before. She was rude and argued with me forcing me to walk out. The reason it was hard for me to get in was because they said they only had one acrylic nail tech, and they were busy doing a pedicure. It is crucial that if a place offers a service, everyone is able to be able to do it or at least have that person stick to that one popular job on a BUSY day. I shopped around for a new nail place when I moved to Elmhurst and Bliss is BY FAR the best place in town. If you are going during peak times in the summer then you should call ahead but I never have an appointment and the most I have had to wait was 5 minutes. They give you a little shoulder massage with every manicure and rub your legs with hot stones in the winter time. They just switched over to new owners that are awesome. Enjoy! read more

Very disappointing. I went to Bliss for a pedicure and no-chip manicure. 4 days later the manicure started peeling off on 3 different fingers. Since I was leaving for a trip, I went back to have it fixed. In the meantime I heard from 2 friends that their no-chip manicures from Bliss had also peeled off. To avoid dealing with it again I asked to have the no chip polish removed and simply replaced with a coat of regular polish. The workers all went to the back room together and talked about it, then came back and told me I would have to pay full price for another manicure. I recently got a mani/pedi at Bliss Nail Spa and I have to say the service was fantastic. I'm a college student so the $34 mani/pedi on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday is really nice if I have an event coming up. I'm always worried that nail salons don't do a good enough cleaning, but this place seemed very well cleaned. Came here to get my eyebrows and nails done, horrible job. The next day half of the polish came off of every nail, and I ended up going to another nail shop to get my eyebrows done. I could barely tell my eyebrows had been waxed, I could not see do difference before/after....And i was able to look at their prices for different things beyond high for a childish job. read more
