I haven't done my nails in a month and half, so I was in dire need of a nail salon. This salon has the option of making an appointment by calling or even by messaging here on yelp! I started making my appointment on yelp and even though I ended up calling them, they responded on yelp within 5 minutes! Very handy to have both options. My nail tech, Andrew, was super great! He took his time, he offered me something to drink twice, and he was very thorough and careful with the entire job. I had some left over SNS when I came in and even when walk-in's came in after me, he made sure to set them up then direct someone else to start with them instead of leaving me hanging like so many other salons have in the past. The salon gets busy after work hours during the week, of course, so I'd say it's best to book ahead. They do work well with walk-ins, though. I'm not sure of what the standard price for SNS is in Arlington, but their fall special is for $55, which is a little steep, in my opinion. They can work with you, as well. I checked out the reviews and they seemed great. I think I had someone new, I'm not quite sure, but getting my desired shape for my nails were tough. I had to file my own nail to describe I wanted a round shape instead of the square shape. I think a huge part was the language barrier, but when I said leave my length I kept having them filed shorter and shorter and now some nails are really short while some are longer. The application is uneven so I have bad grooves and air bubbles on my nails and they're pretty short. Don't recommend this place if you're looking for shape and gel application on natural nails. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I've ever encountered!!! I made an appointment online and called right after to change the appointment to same day. When I called to changed the day, I told the lady who answered the phone that I was available anytime after 4pm. She told me to come in at 4:30pm. They made me wait 45 min and let a group of four who had an appointment 15 min after me go ahead of me!! They clearly prioritize their white customers. I even noticed an employee clean their chairs and not mine! After confronting the manager, she told me they were behind and to wait a little longer. I was frustrated and stated that if they were running behind to let their customers know rather than letting us wait for a long time I could went to another nail salon. All she offered me was to cancel my appointment or wait another 10 min. If they were running behind the least that could've been done was call their customers to let them know. I waited a total of 1hr without any form of compensation or discount. I had to pay for parking twice because of them. Do not come here, they are not considerate of your time and are rude! read more

I usually do my own nails at home and is been like that for years but over the past few months my natural nails break way too often and is frustrating. So I decided to get them done but I did not want the long fake nails or gel. The gels I have had in the past tends to crack and chip in a few days. I read the reviews for Bliss and everyone seems to suggest that dip nails or SNS is more affective than gel so I said why not. My appointment was with Andrew, I had no knowledge of dip nails or the process and he was more than happy to explain it to me. He also mentioned how long the nails are suppose to last when done correctly, he felt very confident in what he was saying and what he was doing. I felt at ease and my nails were not rushed what so ever, which is always my fear. If I pay for services I don't want it to be rushed at all. Overall he did an amazing job. The salon itself was clean, organized and the bathroom was in working order. I've gone on a week day in the afternoon, and they've always been busy (which I think is a very good sign). And I was able to easily reschedule my appointment the same day when my schedule got hectic. Andrew is the best with my SNS dip with tips. The first time I got almond shaped white dip, and they lasted for 3 weeks. This time I got this bright orange/pink color with a matte top coat, and I'm OBSESSED! Her service was great. Now, when it came to my nails... your tech pull the girl that started my nails to start on someone who just had walked in and left me sitting there looking lost. I've gone to Bon for acrylics and he did a wonderful job. None of my nails fell off and they looked really good. I ended up having Lauren removing my nails and she also did a very good job. In general, nails after acrylics are pretty gnarly and she a wonderful job at removal. My nails still feel healthy and strong and they look pretty close to what they were before acrylics. He was very articulate and asked me if I was in any pain during the process (those nail drills can sometimes hurt). I'm usually very picky about the consistency of the shape I get, and I think he shaped them pretty well! This place did not do a good job. I called before I came to see if this place did ravor calluses removal and they said yes. I asked specifically if they used just the grater tool or an actual ravor and they said they used the ravor. I came in for the pedicure and the nail tech didn't do a good job. She didn't get all the cuticles and when it was time to do the callus removal, she only used the grater which she said was the ravor. If I had known this, I would have went to my normal nail salon in Maryland instead of making the trip out to Virginia for a poor overpriced job. Also, they didn't get the foot massage which came standard with the pedicure. Needless to say, I won't be returning. read more

This is literally my first time giving a nail salon 5 stars! I'm glad I made the trip through rain and snow because it was totally worth it. The salon itself has a great location that's about a 5-7 minute walk from the metro. It's brightly lit inside and they have a nice check in system on an iPad where you can collect points for each visit and redeem for rewards. I made an appointment online but they were really accommodating when I wanted to change the time the day of! It's super clean and all of their tools are clean as well. I got SNS nails done with tiffanie and I'm really happy with the results! I've usually always got gel or acrylic but I wanted to try something new. She was super meticulous about the whole process- you can tell that she genuinely cares about the work she puts out. The best part is that the shape is done really well & it wasn't thick or unnatural looking. I appreciate her being a little more gentle on my hands since she noticed I had eczema lol she would ask occasionally if anything hurt/ stung and would be mindful of not filing off your nails to extinction like some nail techs do. My friend and I are in town for the weekend and wanted to start our day with a mani and pedi. I don't get pedicures often, so I don't have a ton to compare, however THIS SALON WAS AMAZING. You walk in, check in on the iPad and pick your color. Easy process. The gel colors are organized on rings by color which is amazing. It helps make your decision less complicated by being able to say I want something ranging from white to pink, or all the blues, or pinks and reds, etc. I am always conflicted with the colors I choose especially when the ring of colors has too large of a color variety. I immediately gravitated to G41 (see photo- Don't Cry Over Spilt Milk). The cool thing is that the salon can match the gel with regular polish for your toes without you having to do it - which I totally appreciated. I got the Bliss Spa Pedicure. It was so thorough. Lasting about 45ish minutes. The chairs were great quality and reclined more than any other pedicure chair that I have ever sat in (so comfy!). Amanda was my technician, and she too was thorough. I could have just left my toes unpolished, they looked so clean. My favorite part was the callous removal and cuticle cleaning. (My friend had Kellie, and she really liked her too!) Then we moved to the gel manicure, and again Amanda did great. Nails are shaped great, nails are short like I like them, and the color is fabulous. I had to get 3 coats in this color to make sure it was perfectly even and smooth!) At the end of the manicure, we got a paraffin was treatment which I've never gotten on my hands and it was a nice little treat. We never felt rushed and were in the salon practically 2 hours (which was REALLY NICE considering most salons tend to give you a pedicure and manicure at the same time which I never appreciate because you can never fully relax when you have to focus on both toes and hands at the same time!). All of the ladies we interacted with were so friendly. My friend and I joked that we would make one weekend trip a month from Richmond to Arlington/DC for nails and we may not be kidding. :) read more

I had been a customer at Bliss Nail Lounge for a year. I primarily saw Andrew but also saw Tiffanie and some of the other nail technicians. Every single person here is great and I cannot recommend BNL more. My gel nails never looked better. They last for 4+ weeks without chipping or breaking. I always get compliments. Additionally, they are so friendly and professional. I once had an issue with one of my nails and Tiffanie gladly and immediately rectified the issue. I had also taken pictures of nail designs, and Andrew executed them every time. I just moved to Denver and will sorely miss BNL and hope to find a nail salon comparable to them.
