Good location, coffee is strong, and store is simple and clean. It's a bummer that there is no app for BLK Dot ordering but the online website is really easy to navigate to place an order. I have yet to experience any issues with submitting a coffee order, and the coffee definitely is consistent that I've returned to order the same thing a few times. My go to is the iced VTM, which occasionally feels like it has too much ice, but the ice melting does help to make the coffee a bit less strong and easier to consume. At just over $5 for a regular size and over $6 for a large, it's certainly pricey for a cup of coffee but when you're shopping around and needing some caffeine pump to keep you going, this is not bad of a location to check out. read more

I went in to get a drink yesterday 8/27/25 around 3:30pm and the girl that took my order and made my order was so rude. She had attitude from the beginning taking my order but I was really nice and respectful so she had no reason to act like that. Anyways as soon as i got my matcha, as it clearly says on the description of the "Uji Matcha Einspänner" it comes with sweet foam on top. She handed me the drinks without it so I asked politely and stated that it came with the cold foam. She grabs the drinks rudely and tries to correct me like I didn't order when I just ordered aka the Uji Matcha Einspänner when clearly it says it on the menu lol. She handed over the drinks and I said thank you after but said nothing and just turned around. She had to make a big deal about me ordering what I wanted and I didn't get so I had to correct her? idk but Overall the drink was horribly made, I have had this matcha before and it was never that bad. When you need a change from the usual coffee place, this is a great alternative. They have a lot of good options, plus tasty food. I had a large iced americano (I know, not too fancy) but good, and then got a CAB- no cream cheese (bagel with avocado) - Yummerz! They put a lemon salt/pepper something-or-other on it and it is good. My friend had a sausage-egg toast and it looked great. I was really impressed with the Vietnamese coffee here. Unlike other places, like Lee's for example, this Viet coffee is a little less sweet and didn't leave me completely jittery after finishing it. The coffee flavor is rich but not overpowering. It's the perfect Viet coffee! On another visit, I tried: - Avocado Boat: contains half an avocado, tuna with pepper, corn, spicy mayo, sprouts, and bacon bits. It's okay. I was expecting it to have raw tuna for some reason, but it's very much like canned tuna. The sprouts give it a nice touch and it definitely just tastes "healthy." Good if you wanna avoid gluten/carbs. It's on their breakfast menu, which is served all day. ~$6 for it, which is a little expensive for something I could've thrown together myself and was a small portion. - Caramel frappe: So good! Inside of the cup is drizzled with caramel. Good amount of caffeine without feeling jittery. While I wouldn't get the avocado boat again, I'm glad to see that they're using great ingredients and have health-conscious items on their menu. I love the ambience of this location! It is very modern and cool to take insta-worthy pics. My first time there I got an Iced Matcha Latte. I have a VERY picky taste. And The barista was very accommodating when I was trying to explain what I wanted. My favorite creamy matcha is the sea salt Matcha tea at 7 leaves because it's not that sweet....This was one of the sweetest lattes I have tasted. Super creamy almost milkshake style, and it had some vanilla in it which I didn't like. It wasn't my thing, and I should've gone with their special, the Vietnamese coffee. So, for the Matcha Lattes, I would say it's a no go for me, however I will definitely be returning to try their other options. I got the iced VTM Einspanner and it was SO good. For being located in the Irvine spectrum it wasn't as busy as I thought it'd be. I had heard so much about this new Vietnamese coffee shop, so I had to try it for myself. I've tried Vietnamese coffee at other places, and I enjoy the strong and bold taste. The staff is friendly, and extremely helpful, and steered me towards their most popular item: Iced Traditional Vietnamese Coffee. Iced Traditional Vietnamese Coffee (24 oz) [$5.60] - After taking my first sip, it was like a PUNCH in the face! It was so strong and bitter! I had never had coffee this bitter before. I had such a hard time taking more than a few sips. I asked them to add a bit more milk to soften the blow, but it was way too bitter for me to handle. Unfortunately I couldn't handle this cold brew. They did mention that they had a lighter version, so perhaps I might try that next time. But for now this place warrants a 3 stars from me as the coffee was barely drinkable for me. read more

Went to Spectrum Irvine center for first time (moved to San Diego area from Seattle area recently!) and so glad I did as I found my #1 treasure when it comes to coffee for me! I'm sad I have to go all the way to Irvine area just to stock up on my VTM coffee as I'm hopeful they will come towards Carlsbad or La Jolla area with their business (I can't find any VTM here) I LOVE that they sell a gallon and bottles (3 servings per bottle)(4 servings for me) as I'm an hour and 20min driving distance, it works great for me as I stock up and freeze my bottles until one bottle is emptied (literally try to claim every drop possible before accepting its empty!!!) Their service from day one pre-Covid to present has been great! I made a big order yesterday for my hubs to pick up after work, I somehow didn't see option of pick up time or to leave note on pick up time, so they called to confirm we will be picking up, super kind on the phone and understanding as well as forgiving for any inconvenience of not knowing pick up time. Their store is small but set up perfectly for walking in to order and out! Love their menu as there's so many options to pick from! Honestly can't go wrong so VTM! I've only had two things here - an Americano and the avacado toast. The avacado toast is good. Freshly prepared. THe tomatoes fall off but the bread is great and not burned. Severely overpriced but it does the job if you want avacado toast! The americano is great! They use very good coffee and good espresso machines. Covid protocols were on point, no complaints here. This spot has a lot of Vietnamese coffee, and it packs a caffeine punch so be ready! It also has all your standard coffee drinks as well. I'm so disappointed this is my 2nd time at this location and I have to be honest customer service isn't that great. 1st time going I ordered 1 Cobb avocado toast and 1 regular avocado toast and two drinks ... I asked for them to place my order in a bag since I was carrying the drinks and needed hold the food as well... When I got to work realized they only put one of my orders in the bag and had to return back to get the other one. So inconvenient I don't know why they wouldn't have bagged both of my items together. Or said something as they saw me walk out. None the less food was good but the coleslaw on the Cobb avocado toast was a bit much... 2nd time going today a few weeks later I asked for the Cobb avocado toast but no coleslaw please... took forever to make it and when I got it there was a ton of coleslaw on top and I was already running late back to work so I didn't have time to have them fix it I had to pick it off which was awful because the egg and bacon was mixed in with it. I HATE ranting reviews but I had to leave one here due to my experience this morning. I'm a huge fan of blkdot drinks, but this location has very poor customer service that ruined my Sunday. I ordered 3 VTMs and 1 LVTM online thru grubhub. Waited 30 mins for my order to be ready for pickup. When I got there, I was told that they ran out of VTM (how do you run out of your signature drink at 10am!) so they canceled my 3 VTM drinks without letting me know ahead of time and with no apology. I wish they would have at least called me ahead of time or offered me alternative drinks. Then they said they had a new batch of VTM that JUST came in and asked if I still wanted the 3 drinks they canceled on me on the house. By then I was very annoyed, but agreed to it since we already waited so long. Then two minutes later, a different employee tells me that I need to pay for those 3 drinks again since my canceled ones were refunded (I haven't seen the refund on my credit card yet). I didnt mind paying, but one employee was telling me it was on the house while another is telling me I have to pay even though the canceled drinks were their fault. No communication at all. I can't believe they even dwelled about 3 free drinks. What is 3 drinks to them ?! I'm so disappointed, especially since I hired them as a vendor for my wedding. Management, if you're reading this, please provide better training for employees on how to handle these situations. And better communication in canceled orders. read more

Stopped by Blk Dot Coffee at the Irvine Spectrum to see what the hype was about for their Vietnamese iced coffee! Parking can be hectic on a Saturday afternoon, so definitely plan to spend some time parking trying to find parking during your Spectrum visit. This location is kind of small so it can feel crowded inside, but the line moved quickly to the front. The staff was super friendly and explained their popular drinks to us. They also had a variety of food options to try. I ordered the iced VTM and my friend ordered the iced VTMatcha. Both drinks came out in less than 5 minutes. The iced VTM is STRONG - it will definitely keep you wired up throughout the rest of the day. It's the perfect balance of strong coffee and sweet that's hard to find in other coffee shops. My friend's VTMatcha also tasted balanced; I was skeptical about mixing coffee and matcha, but it somehow did work without tasting bitter.
