Coffee isn't the only thing in bloom here. I'm a tea drinker, and this is the coffee shop every tea drinker has been waiting for. Usually when I ask for iced tea at a coffee place I get a stock answer: green or black. Sometimes they don't even have it, although that is rarely the case these days. Here, they have a list of at least twenty varieties. They have a separate menu just for tea! this instilled in me an excitement I don't commonly feel when in a coffee shop. The green tea variety I ordered was delicious. The staff was nice albeit slow. My iced tea came out fast because it was pre-made, but my friend's latte took 15 minutes, and that's with not a lot of customers. They also get the 3-star treatment from me because of their shoddy Wifi. The signal was slow and intermittent when sitting outside. A neighboring laptop user told me the signal works best inside. But honestly, if your wifi can't extend another fifteen feet across your patio, you need to upgrade your service. read more

Like the un-Rosevilleness of this cafe. Y'know-what-I-mean? It doesn't seem like some overdone chain despite its location in some faux Italian-looking village complex with crackling power lines overheard. The menu is simple, uncomplicated with its beans sourced from a roaster in Santa Cruz. Can't recall the name, but it did have that boutique-coffee beany taste to it. Reminiscent of Old Soul, in my opinion. A latte was $3.75, a bit more than what I'm used to, but once I saw the beautiful presentation, I felt it was a work of art. I didn't try their food, the emphasis seemed to be more on coffee. I did notice some pastries in a case though: scones, etc. Although their light blue painted walls could use a touch up, I admired the local paintings on the wall. I wasn't sure if they were for sale, but there was one I liked - a vague abstract vision of being underwater. Definitely OVERRATED!! I came here based on Yelp reviews, expecting to get the same service and great coffee that was raved about, and did NOT get that! Booo! The one star is for the really strong coffee (I was focused - and not to mention jittery - for about 6 hours after having it) The cons (and yes there are so many): 1) terrible service: the lady behind the counter was not helpful to my selection at all and just waited on her friends who kept trickling in with free refills 2) weird door noise: even though I had my music on, the door made a squeaky noise every time a customer opened and closed it. WD40, people! 3) not too many tables: I came in to get some studying done and there weren't too many available tables to choose from. The other customers were hogging more than one table and saving them for friends who showed up 2 hours later! That should not be allowed! 4) bleh crowd: definitely not a good people watching place like other coffee shops I've been to. I rarely ever go to Roseville, but when I recently got the chance, I had to hit up Bloom. I heard about this place from an old issue of SNR where they ranked local baristas for their craft. Most of the baristas in the article worked in the Midtown area and Bloom stuck out like a sore thumb, situated all the way in the suburbs. My friend and I came in for breakfast and coffee. While I had a latte, my friend ordered espresso, and for breakfast, we chose the breakfast sandwich and egg and sausage sandwich. Our espresso drinks were beautifully made, just as I would expect from an Old Soul or Naked Lounge drink. Our food took awhile to come, but I completely understood why it took some time: the person in the back wasn't trying to slap something together. The sandwiches were neatly compiled and cared for, and it definitely showed through its presentation. It didn't hurt that they tasted great too. Although the sandwiches cost a bit more than I had expected ($7-9), I'm glad they even provided breakfast options at a neighborhood chic coffee shop like this. Glad to have made a stop into Bloom. This is a place that any coffee connoisseur will appreciate. A couple weeks ago I was driving from San Jose to Tahoe and somewhere near Roseville my body demanded more caffeine. At this point anything would work, but Yelp on my iPhone pointed me to this little place. The atmosphere is great, very open and bright but still has an indie coffee shop vibe. The first good sign was when the barista told me that she had to make my espresso again because they shots didn't come out "just right". Most coffee shops don't give that much care to the quality of their espresso shots. When I got my double espresso, it was perfect and tasted amazing! Bloom is an excellent place for great coffee and/or Breakfast/Brunch. I go out of my way in the morning to get my coffee here. I tend to get a Vanilla Latte regularly but also LOVE their tea selection. These guys take pride in their work and like to do things well. I don't think enough people know how great their food is as well. I have had breakfast/brunch here many times and enjoyed everything I had. Very fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is very hip & Trendy. There is new art on the wall on a regular basis and the music is current. They do get really busy and many times, depending on the time of day finding a sear can be a challenge. But overall I love this place and I am sure you will too. read more

They do not have green tea lattes as a regular, so when I specifically requested it, it came out all milky and barely had a hint of green tea taste in it. I don't understand why old soul coffee and bloom do not yet have green tea lattes as a regular on their menu. Even Starbucks has green tea lattes. Other than the disappointing green tea latte that I had, the environment & music was great for studying; the atmosphere was very casual and calm; and parking was plentiful. Bloom is a welcoming spot in Roseville. They serve verve coffee and make all their bakery items in house . The space is modern and open without being too sterile . It looks like they have original art from local artists hanging on the walls for sale . The wooden seats are not the most ideal , we were there for a couple of hours and I found myself shifting in my seat several times to get comfortable. They have multiple outlets and free wifi , but be warned ...wifi is extremely slow. I ordered a "pooh bear " sized honey latte , it was pretty good , tho my latte was a bit underwhelming. I also shared a chocolate and salted cookie and a honey and pear scone. The cookie was off the hook delicious ! The scone was just okay . It looked impressive but the whole thing tasted like glue . Bloom was our Sunday morning coffee choice during our visit to Roseville. There are quite a few non-chain coffee choices in the area - we picked this one as we were able to confirm online that they offered oatmeal for breakfast. We were told the oatmeal would be a twenty minute wait - that was ok with the heads up. Plus we knew the oatmeal wasn't sitting for hours in a pot. The oatmeal was topped with a honey fruit compote and a side of cranberry walnut toast. Very enjoyable. Coffee prep comes in just nearly every option you would want including V60, Aeropress, Chemex and your typical options. My Chemex Colombia was very good. All in all, an enjoyable coffee shop experience on a Sunday morning for us. read more

The coffee is really good and so are the pastries. There is a cheese scone that they have, along with a sea salt chocolate chip cookie that are both delicious. They have a breakfast menu that doesn't last all day, but is definitely worth checking out if you want a small but tasty breakfast to go with your coffee. I usually just get a cappuccino here. Whenever I have to go to the automall to get my car serviced, I walk over here and wait for my car. I do love Bloom. Been going here for a couple years and they have been consistent throughout. I usually get a Latte (sometimes iced, mostly hot) and it is always delicious. The coffee is good and strong (I noticed some other raters cited this as a negative, but I like my coffee strong). I like how if you are going to have your coffee "for here" they give you an actual ceramic cup, which is something I find is dying out in coffee houses. The food menu is lacking, but that doesn't bother me since I'm here for the atmosphere and coffee. Sometimes the music selection isn't great, but than I do have a pretty eclectic taste. Has the feel of a coffee house that I would otherwise have to go to mid/down-town Sac for. The space is set up nicely with plenty of spots to plug in a laptop. Plenty of seats and tables inside and outside. The service is quick and there are several staff members I have spoke with regarding how their different drinks are made and everyone seems fairly knowledgeable about the product. Plus, the staff has always been friendly. Sometimes "hipsters" take over the place, but its a coffee house and is to be expected. If i could give negative stars i would. My hubby tried to order a white mocha and the girl behind the counter had an attitude and acted offended that he would ask for such a thing. I didn't think white mochas were that big of a deal. I then asked if they had any sugar free syrups. And again... attitude when she told us they didn't have it. We ended up ordering something instead. We were the only ones in the place and it took 10 minutes to finally get our drinks. On top of that the drinks weren't even filled up all the way and tastes awful. Iv been to a lot of coffee shops. Some better than others. But i have never found a place i dislike more. If you just want a great cup of coffee or any espresso drinks (they serve up Verve's delicious coffee), it's the perfect place for that. It definitely has a hipster/trendy vibe to it, which is a welcome change from the half-dozen cookie-cutter Starbucks within a mile of this place. They're open late. The baristas are friendly make awesome drinks. My only complaint is the tea. They serve it up in little cast-iron pots with tiny cups, and if you don't drink it fast enough, the tea will steep too long making it unpleasant. Perhaps they should brew the tea entirely and remove the tea leaves before serving it? But really, should I complain about the tea when their coffee is exceptional? read more

What time is it? Coffee time!! As we were driving through Roseville, Bloom was a great option for local, non-chain coffee. Plus it wasn't far off the 80 and parking isn't hard either! Located in a cute shopping area, I enjoyed their outdoor seating and the open atmosphere indoors. Some large tables and smaller ones with matching seats. It's a very welcoming environment, and no one at the front desk had any pretentious attitudes or stared you down. They were smiley and friendly! We had a good chat with the barista who went to school in Seattle. They have a limited drink menu, but I'm convinced the best places do. I got an iced latte, and while the milk was rich and creamy, it was a bit heavy and hid the espresso flavor. Next time I'll get a double shot. Cav got a Shakerato ($3.50), which was a long espresso pull shaken over ice and mixed with vanilla syrup. It's advertised as bitter and sweet, and I loved the balance of the two flavors! I can't wait to come back and try their pastries. They have luscious-looking scones cut into hefty triangles. They look wonderfully moist! Also they have some chunky cookies and plump muffins. I saw they also offer more filling, substantial breakfast items, including eggs. It's always nice to know you can get some protein if you feel like you've met your carb and sugar quota for the day! That is exactly how I felt when I left Bloom. And it pains me to say that. I don't enjoy anything scalding hot, but my latte was luke warm at best. I love it here. This place is designed with warm neutral tones, I especially like the blue walls, it makes a nice contrast with the wood floors. The menu is simple; you've got your teas and coffees, machiattos, and espressos. Along the walls, a local artist or photographer is showcased on display; some have vibrant colors, other times great photography is up for looks. Aside from the interior aspect, I was quite impressed by the taste. What to say other than their coffee and hot chocolate are very rich in flavor? =) Week nights tend to be a little on the crowded side because of free wi-fi. Every student in the Roseville area loves to study here, so it can get a little warm because of all of the laptops, hot drinks, and body heat. The outdoor seating is nice when the weather allows it. As someone who used to drink instant coffee, I never thought I'd be a coffee snob, but I guess that's what living in San Francisco does to you. So while visiting Roseville, I found myself craving high-quality, non-chain coffee. In comes Bloom to save the day. They serve Verve, which is excellent, and my rich, slightly bitter (in a good way) cappuccino reversed a grumpy morning. Menus call out options for vegans, vegetarians, and those on a gluten-free diet. I had the "Big Salad" with farro which had a nice hint of garlic. The avocado was missing, but they were happy to fix it. The pastry case is insane and based on my nibble of the dark chocolate sea salt cookie, I'm gonna have to work my way through it. Strong coffee. I had a Vanilla Latte and the barista called out Vanilla Latte so I know he knows it's a Vanilla Latte-- but all I tasted was strong espresso. No point in going vanilla here. And then the mocha-- subtle chocolate, more of a milk and espresso taste. It's 75cents extra for soy. If you want that strong espresso taste-- go for it. I've yet to try the teas. They have pastries. Sometimes they have samples! I tried the banana bread and was sad to find a gooey center-- I like mine baked throughout. The scones were decent. Breakfast is also served everyday. Monday-Saturday from 8-12 and Sunday, 8-1pm. I think it's a great place to hang out. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Free Wi-Fi. This is a cute little coffee shop in a great location. The coffee is good and the food is good. However, the scones are not just good, they are amazing: large and soft and delicious. If you order food from them (other than what is already baked, like the scones), be prepared to wait a while, especially if it is a weekend. Also, don't expect them to be open on your way to work during the week. They don't open until 8 AM, which is odd. In my very humble opinion, a better business model for Bloom would be to focus on the scones (provide more of them, freshly baked throughout the day), scratch the other menu because those orders take too long, and open up much earlier on weekdays. Regarding mask wearing: While the employees have all worn masks when I have been in (except for once I saw someone in the kitchen not wearing one, which was troubling). I think it would be good if they took down the weird signs that say some employees don't have to wear masks, according to the CDC and the ADA. I've come to Roseville on few occasions and this coffee house was more than delightful. I've had a Chai and Cappucino along with a few scones which were more than delicious. The coffee is practically perfection and I've only had coffee that compares to it once before. The atmosphere is quite nice, and I enjoy the communal tables as well as the small individual ones. The lighting is always nice and warm. Sometimes it is quiet which I do enjoy and they have outdoor seating. I will admit that sometimes when students or parents take up the seating it can be quite annoying, especially since they sometimes don't appear to be enjoying coffee or food. Last time coming here, it was very very busy and I couldn't believe it. A very long line, people standing around, not to mention everyone being loud. Though I can blame this on the overcast and rainy weather, it was still an inconvenience. I will no doubt be coming back here on my next trip to Roseville because the coffee is so worth it, but I might take it to-go. read more

Good place! I went here the other night to meet up with some friends. It's open late -- 10pm on week nights -- which is really nice, and different than most coffee shops in the area. The staff was great. My barista is even the Sacramento latte art champion, so that's cool! He made a nice swan in the foam on my friends mocha. I got an iced welcome tea and really enjoyed it! Chamomile, peppercorn, and something flowery. They don't sweeten their teas automatically, which is nice. I was very impressed. It was a bit disappointing just how much of the cup was ice though. I'll definitely ask for light ice next time. There's a decent amount of seating inside, free wifi, and art for sale on the walls. The scones are delicious -- I got a currant and earl gray one. Hipster. That is what best describes this coffee shop! It offers high quality coffee in a variety of nifty brewing methods, such as Chemex (but only on the weekends, really? Why?) and French press. They didn't have drip coffee or pour over when I was there on a Tuesday night. T he staff were friendly when I went, but I can understand how they might seem a bit high-falutin'. It has a very trendy feeling about the place. The space itself is pretty boring, doesn't have a ton of seating, and the radio was too loud.
