We stopped over over for Saturday brunch around 12:30pm. We were greeted and sat down with a menu and water. The menu included breakfast and lunch to select. My friend went for breakfast and I picked a lunch dish. If you sit inside, there's also a "to go" and bakery. At my sit, I eyeballed the pastries while waiting for my food. The cafe was adorable with light colors and painted flowers along with other decorations on the wall. Two servers were quite busy. The whole time we were there managing all the tables, making sure the food was brought to our table and seeing if we needed anything. Ms. Elizabeth was our server, and she was very delightful. Once we finished our food, which was amazing, we leaned over and order it a cappuccino and carrot cake. I ordered my mahi tacos with a salad. The salad dressing was the slight vinaigrette with a hint of basil. The taco was served with fresh veggies and a green sauce that was super tasty. My friend ordered a breakfast and had quinoa on the side. We both couldn't put our folks down. As we were sitting at the table, chatting away, a crowd started coming in to eat. The service didn't miss a beat and food was piping hot to the tables. We weren't rushed and enjoyed our day. It's definitely a place I will be back to try some of the other dishes. My friend's daughter lives down the block from this restaurant so we decided to give it a try before leaving LA. We ordered coffees and we split a chicken chorizo burrito with no onions and the jalapeños on the side. We got our coffees pretty quickly but our burrito took a long time and it was with jalapeño's. My friend can't digest the jalapeños so she picked them out of her burrito. It was very good but our order came out wrong and we waited a long time. Dropped by for a quick coffee while waiting for puppy to get a vaccine. I saw they offered a lot of food options, but I already had breakfast - the choices looked good though! I had seen flyers advertising the Chagacchino with almond milk a few times now, so I thought I'd give it a try. It was actually pretty great! It had a darker taste, and id definitely get it again. My drink took a few minutes to make even though there wasn't anyone in front of me. There was only one or two people working at the counter though, so I understood. The atmosphere was really nice and appropriate given the name. I loved the board with the encouraging notes. There was some seating indoors and lots more outdoors - the tables were pretty small so it's probably better for a conversation with a friend or a date than for a big gathering. We were recommended by a friend to try this place and we stopped in for dinner. We were a little on the early side, coming in at 5:30 so it wasn't very busy. Our server was friendly and nice and made some great recommendations for what to try. I have a nut allergy and appreciate that the server was able to knowledgeably tell us how things were prepared and whether nuts were cooked into a dish or only used for garnish. She was very attentive and we enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, but it was a little dark after they dimmed the lights and brought out the votives for evening service. You can even order online and schedule your own pick up or delivery time. Besides that the food tastes great! Even the salmon salad has thoughtfully been separated for the to go orders. I love Bloom Cafe! We've been coming here for several years now, since I believe 2018 or 2019. My dad for health reasons needs to eat a lot of keto and healthy foods. So we really appreciate Bloom for having a lot of healthy options without carbs for him, and the wide range of salads so you can never get bored! The interior of the cafe is cute too. A lot of peoples' complaints here on yelp are about not being able to work in this cafe, but that's just not what this place is. It's more of a brunch restaurant spot than a coffee shop that you can work for hours in. They try to encourage less electronics usage so you can be more in the moment. I've had some nice moments with my family here because of that. My dad usually always goes for the seared salmon salad. I've had the Tandoori chicken bowl, a shrimp salad, Huevos Rancheros, and the tartare salad before and they were all good! I've been to Bloom more times than I can count. I've been a customer for years, starting not long after the cafe opened. Healthy, delicious food, reasonable prices, great service. Casual surroundings. The outdoor portion of the cafe is always shaded. Mediterranean chicken bowl, salmon salad, Mac and cheese, California omelette, garlic fries, roasted Brussels sprouts, coffees and teas, etc, etc, all wonderful. My son-in-law doesn't consider his visit to L.A. with my daughter and their kids complete without at least one meal at Bloom. I always bring out of town guests to Bloom. I went Bloom Cafe for dinner last night with six others (all 7 of us are LAUSD teachers that were on strike at the time). Bloom is a super cute and quaint family-owned restaurant. They have a great dinner menu with awesome specials (and I was told they serve a fantastic breakfast as well). Service was super quick and our waiter, Gonzalo, was awesome! 5 of us ordered off the specials menu and the other two ordered from the regular menu. (Unfortunately I wasn't able to take a picture of every meal, because I didn't want to come between hungry teachers and their food for too long!) Luckily (and obviously) I was able to get a bite of nearly everyone's meal! After being seated, Gonzalo brought out pita bread triangles (I believe they were whole wheat) and olive tapenade. Delicious! He then brought out seven wine glasses, because we brought our own wine, as Bloom is BYOB! (AND THEY DON'T CHARGE A CORKAGE FEE!!! My review could honestly end right here and all would be good! But it gets better!) Not long after, Gonzalo brought out or orders! We got: (Specials) - Short Rib Shepherd's pie (two orders) - Chicken pot pie - Crispy fish tacos - Peppercorn skirt steak with fries (Regular dinner menu) - Vegetarian curry with brown rice - Grilled salmon on brown rice (Dessert): - Ding-Dong style cake I can attest that everything was delicious! The ingredients were clearly fresh and prepared with care. The skirt steak was cooked to a beautiful medium rare and had a delicious sauce that was the perfect amount of peppery spiciness due to the peppercorns. The vegetarian curry was also spicy and delicious with super flavorful brown rice! The crispy fish from the tacos was light. It had a great flavor and wasn't fishy tasting at all! My chicken pot pie was fantastic! You have to like oregano though (which I do!), because it's definitely one of the predominant flavors of the dish. It's topped off with a golden brown, flaky crust! But the dish that took the spotlight was the SHORT RIB SHEPHERD'S PIE!!! This was by far the tastiest shepherd's pie I've ever had! The short rib was so tender, mixed with perfectly cooked veggies in an epic gravy/sauce, and topped with a creamy mashed potato crust! I'm not sure how often they change their specials, but if this is on the menu the next time I'm there, it'll be hands down my first choice! Lastly, Gonzalo brought out a piece of Ding-Dong style cake. This was a (huge) decadent piece of chocolate cake, with a creamy filling in the middle, surrounded by a chocolate shell. It was perfect! This was my first time at Bloom Cafe and my experience was awesome! This is definitely a restaurant that I will visit again very soon! *And to top it all off, the owners of the restaurant are so amazing! They knew that we were teachers on strike at the time (thankfully we're not anymore!) and they treated us to the ENTIRE meal!
