Essentially I stopped in the fragrance section and they had almost everything. From Kilian, Creed, MFK and the typical designers. A word of advice that you may have missed at training -- DON'T SASS THE CUSTOMER. Don't answer abruptly and pretend you've never seen a shoe before and then start your sentences with "Like I just said." And don't show clients something 10x the price of the previous one and smirk when we say it's out of our price range. The salesman was so rude to my husband, I'm surprised neither of us verbally retaliated -- but we wanted to continue our happy time, so we ignored the nasty attitude. I guess a little bit of power can go to people's heads. I'm glad I didn't get the sales dude's name. I've run client services teams--and my only unoffensive response to my experience is YIKESǃ Get better at hiring and retrain the current team. I went to buy shapewear from skims. I was looking at the colors and sizes when a saleswoman came up to me and asked if i needed help. I said no I was just figuring out which color would look good on my skin. The woman asked me "what size pants I was" to which I responded "either a 0 or 00". She clearly did not know the sizing and immediately interrupted me and said "no, are you a large, medium, or small." I'm typically an extra small so I say small or extra small. She then tries to tell me that I should get a medium since the shapewear is compact. I had already known this before trying to purchase and did not think she was correct about the size. In order for her to try and prove her point she took the medium shapewear out of the box and gave it to me. I don't know what that was supposed to do because I also knew the garment was going to be smaller than it is on the body. I kept trying to tell her I believe the medium is too big and i need an extra small or small but she insisted i would need a medium. As someone who buys clothes regularly and has a very good idea of my OWN BODIES sizing i did not appreciate the saleswoman being so aggressive and demanding. I left without the shapewear and feeling harassed and fat shamed (i was wearing three layers of clothes). Saleswoman, please listen to your customers. They know their own bodies better than you do. My wife (Arlee) is a Bloomingdale's convert and advocate, having resided in New York City for over forty-five years. Located between Lexington and 3rd Avenues at 59th St., the "Mother Ship" as she calls it is a must on any visit to New York. After perusing bags and shoes, Arlee works her way down from the top floor stopping at all the women's fashion boutiques located therein. I just head for Ralph Lauren and Polo looking to fill in my collection of Polo shirts and slacks. I'm usually finished shopping (buying- that's a guy thing) within ten minutes and dutifully find seating on each floor waiting for the "circling eagle" to spot a choice tidbit on sale. Sometime, she'll stop bye sporting a couple of outfits on her arm and ask my opinion. I have come to realize that my opinion really doesn't count but I think that it makes Arlee feel better by including me in her meticulous "operating procedure" ferreting out little treasures. An hour and one-half later, she proceeds to the cashier with a broad smile on her face. It's like winning the lottery. She's happy; so I'm happy. Shopping at Bloomingdale's is a wonderful experience, especially if it's with Arlee. Go and share in the joy! read more

We wasted several hours on the phone with ineffective customer service. We placed a $218 order on a gift card with a value of $500. This was on Dec 11. On Dec 23 we noticed the balance was $62. We researched and saw that we were charged twice for the order. Bloomingdales is now sending us forms to fill out and we will need to wait 60 days for a refund. This is "criminal". They made the mistake and admitted they placed a hold of the purchase price against the gift card. How can they charge someone twice and tell you wait 60 days for your money. This not a matter of life of death but I will escalate to the state department of consumer affairs. read more

I had a terrible experience at Bloomingdale's for many reasons. Firstly, I don't know why all the retail employees have such terrible attitudes. You are the cashier at a (so-called) "designer" pop up, you are not some untouchable celebrity. Unless you look incredibly wealthy, you will be ignored and met with rude stares. Bad customer experience! They had a low to the ground mannequin display case that wasn't protected by ropes and I fell over it and got badly hurt. Management came over when the accident happened. But ignored me afterwards. I called a couple of times and they finally referred me to their claims insurance. I called them six times. I never got any response. I called the store back two times. Bloomies is always a must stop for me when in NYC. I must say, I was close to walking out when I walked in. The reason? Within in two minutes, about 6 different salespeople in beauty from different brands tried to stop me to have me "try" something from their brand. Ugh!!!! Few things irk me more than salespeople pestering me. I understand they have a job to do. But I honestly felt I was at a flea market in the beauty section.....it was overload!! Otherwise, everything else was great. They seem to have a real focus on pooches which definitely makes me happy. They have lots of dog photos around the store. Nice touch. I am always impressed with the number of brands and styles of clothing they have. It is simply amazing. A nice gentleman in the ladies jeans department helped me find a great pair. The sunglasses and fragrance department gives me mixed feelings. They're very sweet and attentive but seem to want to make a sale above all else. Had so much fun at Bloomies! The fact that it was "Doggy & Me: Complimentary Coat Customization" Day may have had something to do with it! Basically, you and your dog could have your coat or sweater tailored or monogrammed. Seriously. Only in New York! There were dogs everywhere! Pugs, Pomeraniams, Poodles, Doodles, Boxers, Jack Russells, Frenchies, Scotties, you name it, they were there. Even a Husky-Pomeranian mix, don't even ask me how that happened! My friend and I were here for some serious shopping but I was completely distracted by all the cuteness. Everywhere I turned there was a fur-ball! Loved it! Now back to shopping! Upon entering the door we landed in the Accessory Department and it took us at least 45 minutes to get out of there! A super cool black hat, cashmere scarf and gloves, a beautiful Alexis Bittar necklace...we finally we made it out! we were having so much fun trying things on that several women asked me for assistance, which happens a lot! Was happy to be their rent-a-girlfriend and help them find the perfect accessories. The sales lady was also thankful! Also love all of the stores within a store. We had fun checking out the goodies in Chanel, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Chloe, without ever having to leave Bloomies. I didn't want to, but did did fall in love with a LB bag with the most amazing chain that resembled a necklace. Aas As hard as I tried, I could not leave without that bag! Well, I did leave without it because I had it shipped home to avoid paying the sales tax or having to carry it home on the plane. The entire store is so well styled and merchandised. Really appreciated that while all of the other stores had moved onto Christmas and it wasn't even Halloween yet, Bloomingdales was sticking with a lovely fall theme, taking it one holiday at a time. Amen. In every department, in each of the designer stores, the sales people were friendly, helpful but never pushy. This is not about the salespeople. The Furniture Delivery service SUCKS. The furniture repair service SUCKS. Delivery service was told numerous times that my building will not allow deliveries before 9am so, of course, the delivery service insisted on trying to deliver at 7:45 am. They then said that they would return that day between 1 and 3 and later called and said that they would not. Try speaking to anyone and you end up in an endless loop on their furniture customer service. The service guy looked at the furniture after refusing to use the service entrance and only stayed for about five minutes. He hasn't been heard from since. The place is huge! You can get lost real easily, but they have touch maps at certain stations. The Nespresso team, is on point! Rosalind, and another employee starting with the letter G (but can't remember) we're so nice, and inviting. They made us laugh and made sure we felt welcomed and probably bought us with their kindness lol. But I do think, in general, that the rest of the store's service could be better. The workers here were nice but not friendly in the approachable way. That for me is a huge thing. I'm not rich, and I didn't buy anything important but I felt like that was a big reason as to why no one was friendly towards us. I am not sure why there are not more 4 and 5 star reviews for this NYC classic store. Bloomingdale's has such a wide selection at different price points and in so many different styles. It is a great place to find a gift or get inspiration for your wardrobe. They have a wide selection ranging from kitchen items to mid-priced clothing to the truly high-end brands. Their Loyallist program is a free rewards program (not a credit card) that is a great option if you will shop here (or online!) at least occasionally. You can earn rewards cards for money off of future purchases, and I find that it is quite rewarding if you shop during one of their promotions. They seem to be handling COVID as well as they possibly can. I have been to the store a couple of times since they reopened, and the staff seems very friendly and genuinely glad to be back at work. The store and restrooms are very clean, and everyone is carefully wearing masks. They have hand sanitizer available all around the store, plus the place is so large that there is plenty of space to not feel cramped. Check out 40 Carrots upstairs for a to-go frozen yogurt treat to enjoy when you leave after your shopping trip! read more

Bought $154 shoes as a gift for my daughter at the 59th street store in Manhattan. She was able to wear it only 3 times before the heel broke. Went back to return the shoes as defective merchandise but they refuse to take it back or issue any sort of credit because the shoes were used and cannot be resold. I tried to argue that the store should not resell these shoes because the product is defective, not because it is warn. No use. Essentially, our family threw away $154. Will never shop there again and do not recommend the store. For these prices, they should have quality products or take them back if they sold defective one. read more

We travel every year to NY in order to experience the built up to Xmas in our favorite and most loved city in the world.Early November i was at Bloomies asking the infornation guy who stands near the stairs named Joseph ,a Bloomies employee when will their xmas windows unveiling will take place.He reassured us that it will be Novemver 15.we left the store ,fully trusting what their employee has told us.on November 15 we left our apartment heading to the store feeling excited and in great spirits.once at the store we did see no curtains at the windows and all being lit and open.walked up to the first floor and spooke to another employ only to learn that the unveiling had taken place on wednesday the 13th.we were upset and furious. how unprofessional,how untrustworthy,how irresponsible. saddest of all is that the very same wrong information was given out last year and the year before but luckily then we called few days before to confirm and found out that wrong date was given. I purchased a key chain to gift to a friend and it came in a broken stained and taped box (see picture). It had a rubber band holding the box together. This is absolutely unacceptable. I inquired as to whether I could get another box and the lady at the checkout desk did not seem to care and was not helpful at all. I only gave this 2 starts because after going to another sales associate, she was able to replace the box for something else. This definitely should not happen.. very disappointing! Update: I had initially given 2 stars, but I wanted to change my review because I called Bloomingdale's customer service because I had put in 2 orders for 2 keychains and wanted to return the second one because of how dissatisfied I was with my experience picking up the first keychain and customer service gave me a refund for both.
