The woman who showed up to our home - I kid you not - had only one shoe on. Despite the craigslist ad stating that they come with all supplies and equipment, this "cleaning person" showed up without a MOP, BROOM, or VACUUM. I just moved in, so I had none of those things. She sat and ate lunch in my home, stood on my chair to clean the windows, used of one of my food containers to rinse the showers. I asked her to do the baby's room first because she needed to go down for a nap and she did it last. When she left the floor still looked dirty. She then offered to clean our home directly and "cut out the middle man." She is currently screaming at a taxi company on the phone in front of my house as I type this because they haven't managed to pick her up. Do NOT Hire!! Absolutely the worst experience I have had with a cleaning company!! This company is a complete joke! Scheduled a 3 hr. deep cleaning with 2 maids. I have a 2bd 1 and half bath. One maid was supposed to clean upstairs and one downstairs. 2 bedrooms upstairs were not dusted, swept or mopped. Upstairs bathroom was not touched, except trash was removed. Upstairs sinks and counters had hair on them. Upstairs mirrors completely smeared. Not one thing besides trash taken out was done upstairs! What was she doing in my house for 3 hours!! I feel completely taken advantage of! Downstairs counters were wiped down, and microwave was cleaned and one table was dusted. Inside sliding windows were not cleaned, floors were not swept or mopped, rugs were not vacuumed, toiled base and floor still dirty, kitchen sink was not cleaned, base boards not dusted. What did you do for 3 hours!!! My house is tiny with minimal furniture... When I contacted they owner he said he would arrange to have someone come back out and correct... I received a message from the cleaners that they would be back at 7:30pm to correct and fix everything, I said ok... I waited and one cleaner finally showed up at 9pm!! Meanwhile I had been messaging and trying to call owner. He said he was trying to have family time and could only message me and that he wasn't the one who scheduled the cleaner back out!! When the cleaner entered my home again at 9pm I showed her everything upstairs and she just kept saying oh I'm so sorry I thought I did that I must have missed that. I asked her what did she do for 3 hours, she said I was scrubbing, I asked her what was she scrubbing because the only thing to scrub upstairs would have been the shower and that was not touched!!! She just said she was sorry... I told her to clean my sons room because he was the one that paid and that when she was done I just wanted her to leave my home. She still didn't dust everything, dusted around items and floor left dirty, not mopped.. The next morning the owner messaged and asked if everything was done and I said no it wasn't. Not one phone call from him even though I asked multiple times to call. Between 9:15am and 2pm there were several messages between us and he said his office closed at 1pm on sat and he couldn't call, but he had been messaging me throughout those hours??? Lastly I noticed that one of my kitchen dishes were outside with water.. one of the cleaners opened my back door to my dog and gave him water!!! I had given the owner special instructions do not open my back door to dog. So come to find out they were focused on trying to pet my dog instead of cleaning my house!!!! Again I asked for a call, nothing... I asked for my money back and he said he would not give my money back!!! Literally had to spend my day off to clean!! I have all text messages, phone records and pictures and videos. When I shared that with owner he felt the need to tell me libel is grounds for prosecution. I had to explain to him what libel is... This is my first time using BLT and I can say it was a good experience. The cleaning lady Melci/Nelci did an amazing job. She cleans fast and gets to everything in the 3 hour time frame. I was amazed by how much she accomplished and plan to call and ask for her again. I usually clean my own home but I am glad I have a place I can call should I need some extra help. The owner of this company is really nice and responsive, but he has no control over the nut jobs that work for him. This review is to warn people not to use him unless you've completely vetted who he is sending to your home. The first time he sent two women who were snobby about cleaning. One wouldn't park on the street. She wanted me to give her my garage spot for her crappy car. I finally got her to come inside if I paid for her parking. They cleaned really well, but they refused to stay the full two hours and told me they wouldn't come back to Pasadena for only two hours. I paid for a total of two people for two hours and didn't get fair value. The second woman he sent came with a kitten in a bag. A housecleaner who brings her cat to work with her??? I could tell this girl had issues and I felt bad for her and the cat, so I gave her cat food and litter and toys. I was clear in telling both her and the owner of BLT that the cat could NOT come back into my home. We have other pets and her cat hadn't been to the vet. Well today the same woman shows up 2.5 hours late with the same cat and I wouldn't let her in and told her boss to cancel my appointments. This crazy girl starts texting me about how it's illegal for me to discriminate against her service animal! First of all, her 6 week old kitten is not a registered service animal and even if it was, I don't have to allow it in my private home. We're not a public establishment. This service left my apartment dirtier than when she started because she used all purpose cleaning spray on the floors leaving them sticky. When I complained the cleaner returned and rushed the mop up with water to remove the sticky. Doesn't seem there is any training provided to these cleaners. I wish i had seen the customer photos here before using this service. Never again. Had to hire another company to finish the job. I've hired them about 12 times over the last few years, 5 cleaners, 3 were good, but the others would be like hiring a hard working teenager to help you - which HEY help is help. I've never been displeased... except for maybe once or twice they were a no show.... But you're getting a good deal... so just... make sure to have flexibility with your schedule. They are 80.% reliable in terms of showing up and having a really good worker. MY WORST EXPERIENCE was when one of the good cleaners wanted to bring HER SON ON THE JOB.... He was about 8 and super A.D.D. I actually have a liiiitle bit of ADD - have always thought of trying meds but too ADD to remember. Anyways this kid was actually like ADHD. He had the hyperactivity. Not very professional at all. My maid was scheduled and confirmed for an 8:30 start. I'd arranged to work from home and 'pre-cleaned' just like Mom teaches you. When the maid was 30 minutes late, I called the BLT office to inquire. It took them 30 additional minutes to call back and inform me "your maid won't be available to clean your house today." They offered no make-good other than to reschedule for later that week. No sincere apology for wasting my time or for responding slowly, and no offer for a discount or special deal if I gave them another chance. Also, the products used were not as strong smelling as the last company we tried. I had previously written a stellar review for this company, but after failing to show up 3 different times, they have proven that they are not professional. This most recent time, I called and left messages and texts and no one replied. It's infuriating to say the least, especially when I had cancelled all other plans or stayed home from work just to let someone in... That's money I didn't make and production down at my company. When a cleaner did show up they did a decent job, even though some of them arrived almost an hour late... Like Amber. (She was also one of the no shows the month afterwards.) I had recommended BLT in the past, especially when Maggie was with them years ago, but with Maggie no longer with the company, they have probably suffered a loss. Honey does a pretty good job too so I'm not giving poor stars for them, this is more for the company itself. On my first appointment no one showed up or even called. I called them after they were already 30 mins late only for them to tell me the cleaner had an emergency and wouldn't make it.. I get that everyone can have an emergency, but some communication would have been nice so im not waiting around for nothing.. we rescheduled for 9am the next day. At 940 still no one shows up. I call back again and apparently the cleaner refused to do the job because I was too far for them.. they say they can get someone else to come out, but When i asked how long because i was waiting for them to arrive so i can run some errands while they work for 4 hours. However once the job was completed, I needed an invoice or a receipt for my records. I asked the ladies on site and they said to call the HQ. I reached out to the main company and no response. (More than I need but I was willing) I text them asking about possibly a bi weekly cleaning. They immediately said I need a 4 hour cleaning for $95! The cleaners did a great job in a very short time. I was really happy to see the place when they were done! My only feedback is that both cleaners didn't arrive at the same time. On 11/22, I called BLT Cleaners to ensure my 11/25 appointment was secured. Never received a call back. On 11/23, I emailed BLT Cleaners. Never received a response back. On 11/25, I called at 8:30AM to ensure a cleaner was coming at 9AM. Benjamin called me back at 8:40AM, saying their Cleaner was sick and in the hospital. We rescheduled for 1PM on 11/26, and I received an email confirmation. I told Ben that I had appointments before 1PM and after 4PM...so it was very important that the cleaner showed up. On 11/26 (today), in the morning I received a "pending" email confirmation, a reversal of the email I received yesterday. Again, I (ME) called Ben and asked what was happening. He said he had to re-book a new cleaner since the other one was still sick...and that the new cleaner was behind schedule...he asked if I could push to 2PM. I said it wasn't ideal since I had appointments at 5:00PM...but he promised she would be on time. It is now 2:45PM, and the cleaner is a no-show...again. Benjamin says I need to get a refund through Living Social since I am unsatisfied and he tried to assist. He also said I needed to be more flexible since it's not his fault the cleaners are sick and delayed. Clearly this has become unprofessional, particularly since Ben has not been communicative, upfront or reliable. In truth, BLT is a lazy uncommunicative company that redeems vouchers early and then has no-show cleaners. BLT has never let me down, never been late (without a dire emergency), never re-sent a cleaner who I couldn't communicate easily with, never ignored me, and always put up with reasonable changes or alterations to scheduling, always been consistent in pricing, and most of all? BLT has always had my back. My routine is to clean the things that I'm picky about after the cleaner does the basics. If it's a new cleaner, they always ask me to check their work before they leave and never hesitate to fix anything missed. There are the occasional bad cleaners. I never see them more than once.
