Blue Bottle is a little hit or miss in quality for me. Their coffee is on the pricier side, but they do have some good drinks. I tried the Golden Cinnamon Nola today, and it was really good. The spice was strong and flavorful, and their cold foam is always great. I also really love their blondie, it's a great small treat with coffee. However, the Wi-Fi was so bad today that I couldn't get any work done and ended up leaving. read more

I think this place is worth trying once. I got the Sweet Iced Coffee. It's good! Incredibly smooth with very minimal bitterness. It's a shame that it doesn't come with much and is pretty pricey. As a Blue Bottle lover I've been spoiled having this location in the neighborhood! Always love visiting blue bottle whenever I am near one! My favorite drink in their menu is the Nola Shakerato! It is creamy and delicious! I also love that this location had a later opening time. Most cafes close around 2pm or 3pm but this was was open late so I was able to stop by and get a second cup in the day when I was feeling low energy. Alas, every location lists the exact same menu, never mentioning my beloved AT. So I took a chance, having only been to their downtown location. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Downtown wins the aesthetics award, super cool oblong saucers with the Blue Bottle logo.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]At least this Fillmore Street cafe has nice tableware which offsets the sad takeout boxes, great for takeout, I get it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Happy to report only a small laptop encampment taking up space long after their one coffee cup has been emptied. It takes a while to get your order, but the counter folks are working hard & always pleasant. I dropped into another Blue Bottle in SF and went with a cappuccino -- classic choice and always reliable here. The espresso was rich but balanced, and the milk was frothed just right, silky and smooth. I'm usually a black coffee guy but every now and then I go out on a limb. So yes I know there is sugar in this and I'm well aware of what sugar does to things. Let's be honest though this coffee is exquisite. You know it's good if I go off and start using big words I don't understand. I also got the banana bread and the white chocolate raspberry cookie. Do the veteran move and ask them to nuke it just a little. Both items were more well put together than the pyramids. Absolute technicians who made these. This is a nice location and the coffee is good, but they completely and blatantly ripped off my friend yesterday. He ordered a quad shot of espresso (obviously 4 shots of espresso). When he went to pick it up, the cup felt very light. He asked the guy if it was definitely a quad and he said yes. He didn't want to make a big deal out of it so he didn't say anything else, but he knew it wasn't. He came out and handed it to me and I opened it. It was ONE SHOT. A very ristretto one shot. Trendy but tasty! My daughter wanted to try Blue Bottle Coffee as it is being made very popular on social media and we were in the SF area for a couple of days. We stopped by the Pacific Heights location and ordered Avocado Toast, a Hot Nola and a Four Over. We shared the avocado toast which was prepared perfectly and was very tasty. My Hot Nola was with orange blossom and I had it with oat milk. My daughter had the Four Over and thought it was going to be a flavored mocha-style drink but it is basically a pour over coffee. This was a bit confusing. Other than that, we enjoyed our purchases. We would have loved to bought some merchandise from Blue Bottle but the items we perused were way too expensive (a ceramic coffee mug for $27? Crazy!). I'm sure the quality is great but that price point is way too high for a mug. But we didn't come here for the merch, just the product and it didn't really disappoint. read more

Standard Blue Bottle coffee shop: Same interior design, great coffee and reasonable sit down space. I got the sweet latte and leige waffle which never disappoints. You can taste the coffee with just the right sweetness, and the waffle was made fresh with a crispy outside but soft to the chew and also had a slight sweetness to it. If you're like me and love sweets but not too much, this is it. I went before noon on a Thursday and it was pretty packed with lots of foot traffic, but was able to find a corner spot facing the window because I like my views! They also had a good playlist going that you can vibe to but the overall loudness of the place not overbearing at all. The service was great, they were all prompt to take my order and they even used actual dishes for my food which I thought was nice, nothing to dispose of. Overall, chill vibes all around and will come back if I ever get the chance. Also, the only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because no Blue Bottle I've ever been to has any outlets to charge your laptop, including this one which sucks because my time is limited to the life of my battery and wish I could stay longer but nowhere to charge! read more

I'm honestly shocked at this location - I love blue bottle and was so excited to be back in SF and get it as a treat since there are none near me now. I got a Samra latte which was super creamy, the barista was awesome and friendly and was like let me remake it in a smaller size for you without the syrup too it's just because the large has the same amount of shots. The second latte was somehow worse, this is straight milk at this point, I have no clue what is happening here. I do appreciate the barista being super nice and remaking it, but don't have the heart to tell her this one is horrible too so just cutting losses and not coming back read more

I had some time to kill in between appointments in Pac Heights this past weekend. It was an unusually hot day for San Francisco (80's) and walking around was such a nice way to spend some time wandering in and out of the boutiques. Once I spotted this place, I knew a morning latte was destined to be a part of my day. Upon walking in, I immediately noticed the large open space with its high ceilings, warm brown colors with the added in blue accents to match their namesake. Space in SF is a premium and this location had a decent amount of it for people to sit and enjoy. They also had outdoor seating as well. I walked straight up to the counter where there was only one person in line ahead of me. They took my order for an oat milk decaf cafe mocha latte +Tahini chocolate chip cookie. Just my luck, they accidentally put 2 cookies in the bag because I think they were stuck to each other. I waited no more than 5 minutes for my cafe mocha when they called out my name. I couldn't be happier to see the cute little heart milk foam art that was floating on top. Even if they do this all the time, it was an easy way to bring a smile to my face. And just for that, I can't take off a star for the cookies because they weren't all that great. I read that they were "Vegan" but as an avid baker, they didn't impress me at all. They tasted almost like a semi dry chocolate chip cookie with some sesame seeds + salt on top. Would never order these again. The cafe mocha however was perfect. I've walked by this spot a lot and finally gave it a try. I ordered the Mocha since that's my preferred coffee drink. This one was not super sweet and had more of a bittersweet chocolate kind of flavor. They put some aesthetic latte art on top. I've visited this Blue Bottle (and others) several times now, and always know that I'll have a good experience. For starters, the drinks are great. I usually get an Iced Matcha Latte with whole milk, and it is one of my favorite iced matcha drinks in the city. They also have some interesting seasonal drinks, like the Orange Blossom Matcha Latte they offered earlier this year. I also love the ambience. This location has multiple large seating areas so I can usually find a place to sit and work (even if it means sitting at a big round table next to strangers). They keep the cafe pretty clean too, so it feels like a nice place to hang out. I've ordered take away drinks on the app a few times and have had good experiences there too. That being said, I feel like the value of Blue Bottle is really when you are eating in. Because the cafe is such a nice place to work (which is rare for a cafe in San Francisco) it justifies the higher cost of the drinks. This place has quickly become part of my new morning routine as I've been picking up work shifts in Pacific Heights. Since I park on Chestnut and get a little uphill climb in before work, a sweet latté (not too sweet! the perfect touch that takes away the bitterness) and blueberry almond tea cake have become my reward for making it to the crest of the hill. The tea cake itself is the perfect size for me - about half a dozen bites of moist, sweet yumminess, with a nice crunch of almonds on top. I haven't tried the other nibbles since this was my choice the first morning and it hit the spot. The place has some outside tables as well as in. Most of the employees are still masked. The customers seem to be locals and it feels good to support a local option, rather than Starbucks, Inc. Plus, the coffee is delicious! read more

Must I say much about Blue Bottle? When I'm in a city that has Blue Bottle, you already know that I will be there. I was visiting SFO for the first time, and I had to start my first day with a cup of sweet latte. This was the nearest location from my hotel so I ubered here to get some morning joe and to get some work done. This is in a super residential area so it's nice to see the daily lives of San Fran folks. I arrived pretty early around 7AM so the place was quite empty. I was able to order my iced sweet latte with oatmilk and chocolate croissant -- my usual whenever I go to Blue Bottle. The baristas were super kind and I was able to get my drink pretty fast. The place got pretty busy around 9AM so I ubered back. There isn't a crazy amount of seating in here, but there is some so be aware of that. There is also limited patio seating as well. I'm more of an independent coffee shop person but I absolutely love Blue Bottle and am excited to go here whenever I'm ever in this area. This location is definitely the happening haunt of Pac Heights and is always busy. I come for their ground coffees, egg bites, and ambiance. There is a pretty good variety for whole beans and it's about $3 cheaper a bag than in the stores. They can grind it for you which I like because I don't have a grinder. My favorite is the Giant Steps which has notes of cocoa, toasted marshmallow, and graham cracker. Egg Bites- similar to Starbucks but they have a waffle pattern on bottom so it looks cool and doesn't burn your mouth as much. I also love and purchased their ceramic pour over for coffee. It's a big pricey but it was the only one I could find that fit my coffee cup and it looks pretty. The inside is very bright, clean, and modern looking, it's a fun place to be if you can find a seat. If not I just take it go to on my way to nearby Alta Plaza Park. read more

I have been a regular of Bluebottle for 18yrs from their kiosk in Hayes Valley, Ferry building, all the way to Playa Vista & Culver city. The Espresso is amazing and the people have been kind & lovely. But the Bluebottle on Fillmore is sadly neither of those. Yesterday I was treated poorly by the barista and 2 other staff. Considered not reviewing, but went in for a quick espresso decided to get a quad. What i got was less then 1.5 Oz, when asked i was told its a ristretto or short pull, BS. I genuinely don't know why I continue to go to this location. The employees are far from friendly and act like you're bothering them and treat you with so much attitude. The bathrooms are actually repulsive and I've never seen so much chaos at a coffee shop than I do between 7-8am in the morning at this location. They truly can't keep up with the pace and have such negative attitudes about it. I also purchased a tumbler for a friend that was defective and I've gone in to the multiple times requesting they replace it and they won't. They have even told me that they knew this model was defective which is why it's not on shelves anymore. Makes sense! read more
