We bought a new 5th wheel from Blue Compass in Redmond, OR despite previously having had a terrible experience with Blue Dog RV, and having options much closer to home BECAUSE of the PEOPLE and how we were treated by salesperson Emily Gordon, the Manager, Mike Johnston. It is clear that they love their business and are committed to professionalism and treating their customers right. They answered all our questions and made us a solid offer on the unit that ticked all of our boxes. So much so that we were comfortable enough to put down our deposit over the phone then drive 4 hours to do paperwork and our walk though. Jen helped us with the financing. We enjoyed a fantastic meal at a great Mexican Restaurant (Caramel) recommended by Emily. The next day, Makenzie gave us a very complete tour of our new RV! She is knowledgeable and went above and beyond to give us pointers not found in the owners manual based upon her commitment and experience. My wife and I took our trailer home and had everything repaired by Gibbs RV service and repairs. I took about an hour for them to fix the issues we experienced at Blue Dog RV. We also had a leak in our new Travel Trailer. Gibbs also fixed that and replace the wood that was damaged. I truly hope that people read my review before deciding to buy from Blue Dog RV in Redmond, Oregon. I'm 67 and honestly in all my years I have never been in a situation like I had with Blue Dog RV. We are so disappointed withBlue Dog. We purchased a new 2022 Keystone Sprinter in April from Blue Dog. They provided us with a familiarization walk thru but failed to provide vital information such as how to access the hot water heater by-pass valves or the water pump (neither are intuitively obvious). The first time we took it out for a "shake down" trip, we discovered problems that should have been addressed before delivery. There is a connection to flush the black water tank with no hose to the tank. If I hadn't noticed this issue and tried to flush the tank, water would have flooded the compartment under the RV and damaged electrical equipment. The blind in the bedroom was broken and the water pump has never worked properly. Two dining chairs had some of the finish worn off and we wanted them replaced. When I took it back to Blue Dog, I was told they wouldn't be able to begin working on our new RV for at least 60 days. I told them this was unacceptable and they agreed to look at it. After a couple weeks, I picked it up but nothing had been fixed. Supposedly, they ordered new chairs and the bedroom blind in April, again in June and again in August. They have yet to be provided and we still have not had any of the issues fixed. Last time out, we found the solar panels were not charging the batteries and we struggled to dry camp for a 3 day trip. We finally took it to another Keystone authorized service facility and are hoping for a better outcome. Blue Dog should be your last resort for repairs. (I will say, the people in the service department are very nice. They are just unable to provide satisfactory service,) read more

Robert and his team saved my life! In Bend for a week and my trailer jack was jammed. Luckily haven't had my camper for over a year so the labor and part was covered. We brought our Grand Design trailer into Redmond Blue Dog RV on Oct.13, 2020 for them to replace the septic value and the motors on the stabilizers. They have given us nothing but the standard " Waiting for the parts". OK ,my husband is a mechanic and orders parts all the time and has NOT had a problem getting them on a timely manor. Don't you think a person would look for them from another source if they weren't getting them from the "normal" warehouse? Just saying!!! This company has had my RV for repairs since 9/14. I have made repeated attempts to contact the service department (specifically Robert since he is the one working on this) to get status updates and have been repeatedly told they haven't gotten around to it yet. I understand they are busy but I had been told they would only need a week to look at it and then they would work on paperwork for the warranty. They finally submitted paperwork to the warranty on 10/11 (according to Robert) which was denied. Robert said he doesn't know why because there are no notes and I would have to contact Keystone to find out. When I asked for contact info he said to look them up online. Then when I asked about the other repairs needed he said all the issues I brought it in for just somehow miraculously fixed themselves and they don't know what I'm talking about. Never did we do a walk through together for me to show them/explain to them what exactly the problems were but we did spend over an hour talking about all the issues multiple times and he typed them all into the computer with me standing there. Each issue I asked about he would say I don't know I have to get back to you or I don't know I have to go ask that person and call you back. (He NEVER calls back!) So I'm wondering if this warranty paperwork was actually submitted then why does he not know what's happening with the RV and why are these issues suddenly not issues? I told him it sounds like they're just too busy to deal with it and I would be looking for another service department to take it to and he said they're just backed up they'll get to it. So I called Blue Dog/Compass in Bend so ask about the process of moving my RV to their shop and let them know the issues I was having. I got a call back from Scott Ewing the next day and he had been very helpful in giving me some answers but wanted me to talk to the service manager in Redmond and I now have been waiting since 10/21 to hear from Bret even after I left a voicemail. I called them again on 10/25 and was finally able to talk with Bret. It seemed like instead of helping with the issue he would rather make excuses for Robert but I let him know I wanted the trailer taken to the Blue Compass in Bend and he agreed and would let me know when it was there. I never heard back from anyone so I called the Bend service department on 11/1 and spoke with Caleb who said he had the trailer but wasn't given any information about what was going on so I talked with him about what needed to be looked at and he said he would get to it as soon as he can and would let me know what he finds out. Scott has been out of the office so he hasn't been able to chime in on any of this yet. I just received an email from the Better Business Bureau that they still have not gotten a response from this company. Trust me when I say you do not want to go to this company! read more

We are very disappointed with the communication and service of this company! Blue Dog Sales and Service Department WILL NOT PICK UP THE PHONE!! It is impossible to talk to a service tech about the problems with my trailer. They keep having their service desk person call back, but they know nothing about the technical aspect of the problems and then say they will have someone call back.... NO ONE EVER CALLS BACK!!!!! After 2 outings in our NEW trailer the slide stopped working on June 20th. We worked with our sales rep to get the trailer back in quickly because the camping season in Central Oregon is very short. He promised come hell or high water we would have the trailer back within 2-3 weeks. That was the last communication we received from Blue Dog about the issue! The slide was finally "fixed" but our trailer was returned filthy, the bed coverings ruined and new hardware visible throughout the coach..... THIS IS A NEW TRAILER!! Dropped off Grand Design 5th wheel for 2 recall work, said it would take 1-2 days when appointment was scheduled. When I dropped off the trailer they said it would take 1 week. Picked up trailer on July 13, never received an invoice. They even lost my keys which I was able to identify it on their key hook. I have requested a copy of the invoice for 5 weeks, each time said someone will look into it. Sent several e-mails with no response. Even the service manager wouldn't respond. During this time Grand Design tried to help. After 6 weeks Grand Design e-mailed me copies of the completed recall work by Blue Dog. I don't know how a company can operate with such poor customer service. I will never go back to them. read more

first the lady that assisted was very polite and tried to be helpful in the Redmond OR location. We purchased our RV in 2016 and absolutely love it and appreciated Blue Dog for years. But beware they have been bought out and it is not the same. We purchased a lifetime warranty for $99 a year and it went up to $105 last year, not a big increase, but for 2022 it went up to over $200. We had them fix some caulking on the front of the trailer about a three foot section, over $100 to fix and they took a big chunk of paint off and said nothing to us. Do not even try to call them as they do not get your calls and if they do, will not return a call most of the time. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the fact that this new outfit/ owners. read more

Blue Dog RV in Redmond OR.; I had someone run into my Grand Design Imagine in the storage lot where we keep our trailer. They left a fair amount of damage. I took to BD in Redmond and they gave me a reasonable service quote, performed an amazingly professional and precise repair, and the service person (Sarah) was amazing and polite, professional through the entire process. We also have our "Forever Warranty" inspections done at Blue Dog, Redmond. WE are pleased with this work and the detailed thorough explanations of findings there. Took our 5th Wheel here back in August 2021 for service because they're listed as a recommended dealer on Grand Design's website. When I called the service department to schedule our 5th Wheel for service, everyone was professional and everything seemed legit. They were booking about a month and a half out, no biggie. Skip forward to dropping it off. There were lots of trailers in for service sitting in the service lot, this was the first red flag. After dropping our trailer off, the communication was terrible. Calling for updates was like pulling teeth and sometimes the number didn't even work. We live in our 5th Wheel full-time which is something I heavily relayed. We were told maybe 2-3 weeks. They had if for a month, didn't fix everything and were basically trying to buy more time. We told them we wanted our trailer back and we were coming the following week to pick it up regardless if it was done or not. Skip forward the following week. Kept trying to call to see what, if anything had been done. No one is answering or returning my calls that Monday or Tuesday. Kept calling Wednesday and finally spoke to someone who states our trailer is done and they're doing the final walk through. Show up Thursday at the time I specified we would be there to pick it up, trailer is no where in sight, no one is helping us. Come to find out they're scrambling to work on it that morning, right before picking it up. There's about 6 people (I kid you not) standing around doing water cooler talk (it's 11am) not helping at all. We wait 15-20 minutes before someone finally tries to help and he can't even make sense of our file and what has or hasn't been done. Long story short, we brought it in for 3 leaky cubbies, trailer cap lights needing replaced, back hatch screws all broke off so they we're taking the hatch out and resecuring/resealing it, grey tank replacement, black tank valve replacement, wheel bearings maintenanced and a piece of trim in the kitchen being tacked back down. All was covered under warranty minus the wheel bearing maintenance. The only things done were the wheel bearings, the kitchen trim, the black tank valve replaced and the back hatch but we discovered this was never resealed so technically that was only half done. They had our trailer for a month. Gave it back filthy inside and out. Then had the gall to ask us if we were coming back to finish the rest. We will never go back. Communication was horrendous and the list we had wasn't even complex. My suggestion is to not walk away but RUN. I plan on also reporting them to Grand Design to let them know they shouldn't be on their list of recommended dealers. I cannot and will not recommend. read more

Absolutely never go to this business!! Worst service imaginable. They kept our trailer for 7 months and fixed almost nothing. Charged outrageous fees for just looking at what needs to be done. For example: $14.50 to say "Yes, that's broken." Phone calls not returned, email not answered, messages not delivered. We called them at least 20 times in the 7 months they had our trailer and yet unfinished work has this comment."Waiting on customer." Let me start by saying that DARIEN JONES was AMAZING- from start to finish, she went above and beyond to answer our questions, take measurements for us (we lived in Boise at the time), and always returned our calls. However, that's where the 5-star service ends. The service department at Blue Dog RV is HORRIBLE- the SERVICE MANAGER JUSTIN LORAAS doesn't return phone calls nor does he take any responsibility for shoddy work. They tell you they are ordering parts that never arrive, and do an embarrassing job on repairs. We left the lot with our bathroom faucets not working properly. We were told that we just had to let them run for a while and it would get better, that there was probably some sawdust stuck in the pipes. Three weeks into ownership, the faucets never ran more than a slow trickle and after trying to work through Blue Dog RV, we decided to contact Grand Design ourselves to order replacement faucets, which arrived quickly within a week. When we returned to get a bowed-out wall repaired, the service person cut the paneling leaving a big gap between panels and applied the wrong color tape, didn't properly attach the tape to the bottom of the wall, smeared putty all over the pinholes in the wrong color, and left smudgy handprints all over the wall, and at the end of the day, literally, we were left to roll out of there with it still unrepaired. We had no other choice but to wallpaper over the atrocity. The photo below is the same photo we sent to the service manager and got absolutely NO RESPONSE. We've tried calling and leaving messages several times, but the service manager, Justin Loraas doesn't return calls nor does he take any responsibility for shoddy work. Most recently we reached out to ask about heat pump repair and received no response back. We WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BLUE DOG REDMOND for purchase or repair work. They are simply not reputable, and after you pay 6 figures for a new fifth wheel, you expect solid customer service. The only person worth recommending there is Dairen Jones. I hope she finds an RV company that is worth her hard work and excellence. read more

I can't tell you how bad blue dog rv in Redmond Oregon is. Not only myself but family members and friends have all had the worst client experience of there life there. They lie about everything, can never follow up or follow through on even the simplest things. They take 2-3 months to even do the most simple repairs and you have to hound them just for an update. Bought a brand new trailer. It had a broken window and counter top damage. It was the style we wanted. They assured us that they would clean up the glass and fix the counter top. Received the trailer and grandkids came over to see it. My grandson was cut by glass shards that were all over the bunk mattresses. Glass was in every Crack and corner. We spent hours cleaning the glass up. After 6 months they still haven't fixed the counter and doesn't take calls. It's terrible. I will never buy there again. I recommend staying away. read more

The sales department was great. Our grand design imagine arrived about four months later. That was OK we were told that upfront. However when we sat down with the woman to do the paperwork she starts talking about a service plan and warranty on everything in the world that would add another $8000 to the cost. Well it would be really good if they would give you that information upfront so you have time to look it over before you come in and do all the paperwork. Don't throw that at me when I'm filling out loan papers! Now let's get to the service department. Once you drive that RV off the lot customer service ends. I won't bore you with all the gory details. Just read all the other reviews and you get the picture. The only thing I will add is with my last issue I left six voice messages over a period of two weeks. Today I received a return call. Unfortunately I was not home and it went to voicemail but she did not address the reason I was calling! Now it will probably take another six calls before I get to talk to someone. I love my Grand Design, but will be looking for another place for service through Grand Design even if I have to drive farther. read more

I am 5 months into owning my camper and it is still not functional and does not work properly. No one ever seems to really know what is going on when you go into the service department and they just walk away when you start to ask questions. I have been in contact with many high up people in the company and they just pass you off to other people who also do not help. TERRIBLE. Have never had a worse experience with any company, ever. We put a deposit down on a fifth wheel. It didn't come in on time, so they were transferring one from another Blue Dog location. The day it was supposed to arrive, Matt in service told us it was there (over the phone). We drove the hour to Redmond to discover it wasn't even there. When it finally did come in, Matt's service team tore apart the closet to install our washer and dryer then told us this model wasn't made for washer and dryer. We had to call the manufacturer ourselves to find out that YES it IS made for a washer and dryer, but Blue Dog didn't order the right parts. Also, they canceled our walkthrough without even telling us. We showed up and they told is it was cancelled. Then they are telling us the next appointment to look at our RV and purchase it was a week out... I expressed my dissatisfaction to Matt over the phone and tried to get them to squeeze us in earlier. Matt hung up on me, the customer, and that sealed the deal for us - we won't be giving them our business. read more

Buyer Beware- service department is horrible, especially after you get past the receptionist who will routinely hang up on you. First off the sales team and their sale side management goes above and beyond. They alone are five stars. However, here are some ofthe problems First- I arrive to pick up my new trailer, that was inspected by Blue Dog employees on site, and the slide out begins making noise when I go to close it. The noise was the grinding of gears. The "service manager" tells me that the slide out grinding noise is normal after I question him about the loud sounds it is making, which we are both hearing. He then tells me to take the trailer home and if it breaks or stops working then to bring it back. I asked for someone to check it out since the service manager says it is normal; however, this trailer is brand new and just got delivered. Upon inspection the slider and the ram that extends the slide out is broken. Second- I return several weeks later to pick up my new trailer. However, part my fault I should have personally inspected the VIN as the the service manager walks me through the trailer and showcases how the slide moves in and out without making the gut wrenching noise. After the inspection with the Service manager I take the trailer home and I then look at the VIN and see that it does not match the trailer that I bought. I return the trailer and get my actual trailer back from another location of the lot. Here is where I cannot fathom how they can call themselves a family business Third- My wife and children--including an infant are staying in the trailer when the CO weather changes and it gets in the 30s at night. The furnace only blows heat through one went and cold air through all of the other vents. Needless to say we live on the other side of the country and unable to just pack up the trailer and go home right away. - a service request is made and we call to follow up a few days later. The front desk lady says you don't need to call us about this because we will call you when we are ready and that we are busy. She was extremely disgruntled and seemed offended that we called her place of employment to inquire about the service request. -after several hours we call again--giving a reasonable amount of time. The receptionist conveniently disconnects us. Call again we are told the service desk lady is busy and will call back once she is free. I immediately call on a different number speak to the front desk lady and get transferred to the service desk lady--who was very nice. Informed that they cannot check out my trailer for several months. At this time my call drops. -we call again and the front desk lady says service lady is out to lunch. However, I just was speaking with her. Front desk lady says she will call us back, but does not take our information. -an hour later we call and get disconnected. -call back thirty minutes later and last time before we prepare to make the trip down there to get someone other than the front desk lady to help us. This time we talk to the service lady--again super great. We explain our situation and that the temp is near freezing at night--36 night before--and near freezing for the next few days, plus all children under 10. She informs us that Blue Dog RV cannot help us out and that we can take it to another certified dealer somewhere else. End of conversation. Blue Dog RV has decent prices, good inventory, and their sales team are great. But their service department is extremely deceptive, lying, and straight up scoundrels. Hopefully Blue Dog RV can do something such as babysit their service department employees, train their front desk lady on how to speak to customers, ethics on lying, and how to operate a phone since she kept disconnecting it. If they do all this and then Blue Dog RV would be a pretty good place. Sadly, and sadly because I have been nothing short of respectful and kind--because I figured kindness would help me out--in every interaction even while the service manager straight lied to me about the slide, the service department is atrocious. We wanted to write a follow-up review since our last. Once again, we had an outstanding experience with Blue Dog RV. We went to the Redmond store to pick our camper trailer on the day of purchase. We were greeted by Jordan, the sales manager from Bend, who went over and beyond to take great care of us. He handed us off to Jason who gave us a super informative tour of our camper trailer. He took his time and made sure that we understood all of the "bells and whistles." We also had an incredible experience with Mark as we finalized our financing. This was our very first camper trailer so we weren't sure what to expect. This experience completely exceeded our expectations. Overall, what makes Blue Dog RV so special is the staff. I know they submitted our credit to the banks because I got the alert. I called on Friday and got the run around and here it is Saturday and still nothing. We had a great experience buying our 2023 Imagine Grand Design from Blue Dog RV in Redmond. We are from the Portland area and chose Blue Dog because they have the best prices around and they had the RV that we wanted. Our salesperson, TJ, was not at all high pressure, took a whole afternoon to show us several of the models/brands that might have worked for us, even though we had a good idea of what we wanted, and got us an amazing deal. He answered all our questions and even though we didn't make a deal that day we talked a few days later and agreed on a price that was good for us and for Blue Dog. Matt in finance was very accommodating with all the date changes we have to make, due to the week of crazy snowstorms , to sign papers. On the day we picked up our new RV, Brian the service manager, spent several hours with us going over every detail of our new RV and answered the hundreds of questions my husband had! My first trip involved visiting Blue Dog, Big Country, and All Seasons. based on my first visit I would have given Blue Dog one star. It was a weekend and there was one guy working on a sale and no one to else help. I wasn't going to waste my time to even write this but I'm so annoyed I thought other people should know the garbage I bought from blue dog. Today is the 2 month anniversary of owning my 2022 forest river grey wolf travel trailer. I just got it back from the manufacturer for the second time. In the 2 months I've owned this thing. I have only had possesion of the travel trailer for 10 days. I've had so many issues with this thing. I regret my purchase from them so badly. The day I brought it home it leaked like crazy. Immediately I called blue dog and they told me to bring it back in. They refused to pick it up so I had to drive 70 miles to the nearest repair shop. I had to leave it in the rain for 4 days before they would even look at it, even though they knew it was leaking badly. That repair took over 3 weeks. I wasted an entire day from work and more than a tank of gas to get it fixed. Then finally I was able to use my trailer and went camping and found more leaks. This time I took it to the manufacturer and it took another 3 weeks for them to fix it and go through everything and assure me nothing else will go wrong with it. I've already made a payment and 2 storage and insurance payments on a garbage trailer that I have had in my posseion for 10 days. something that cost over 34k you would think would be perfect. Never once has Blue dog reached out to me to see how I was doing or even thank me for buying there junk. They have been aware of all my issues and there sollution is bring it in next week and we'll look at it. All they care about was selling a trailer. They don't care about there customers and the issues there garbage causes. If you think buying a home is stressfull try buying there junky trailers. I've literally made myself sick over this purchase and wasted lots of money and time. read more
