    Torn button hole
    Brooke R.

I've brought a few pieces of clothes in here. The first time the jeans were too short and he wanted to charge me again to let the hem down more. he said it was my fault they were too short as I could see the length of them in the mirror. However he marks the jeans above where they're hanging. So not really sure what happened there. This last time I went in I brought three items. A shampoo cape that had a small 2 inch tear on the seam that needed to be stitched back up. A vintage T-shirt torn under the armpits and a tear across the chest. And pair of Levi's that had a ripped button hole that needed to be stitched up. He charged me $60 bucks. Way overpriced for that. But worst of all after I washed the shirt his work fell apart. I brought it back along with a pair of pants for him to hem. I asked him if he could stitch the shirt back up for me. But when He pulled out his little ticket book I asked if he was going to charge me again. He said of course. I explained I just picked that shirt up from him less than a week ago and reminded him how much I paid. He said this isn't my work. I've never seen this shirt before. His memory must be going because when I first brought it in he was impressed and said this is an oldie but goodie. But now he goes on to say the shirt can't be repaired it's going to fall apart again I should throw it away. Well Gee why didn't he tell me that to begin with before he fixed it the first time and why was he just about to fix it again if I was going to pay again? Anyway he refused to re stitch the shirt. That was a complete waste of money. Now I have to take it someplace else.

Do you have big thighs and thinning in the crotch/thigh are of your favorite pair of jeans? Come get them fixed here!!! I'm so impressed and so happy that he was able to fix these for me. My pair was so close to getting a hole so I stopped wearing them for a few months until I could find someone to fix them and voila! - Dr Blue jeans worked his magic. He even made the stitching match to the wash of the jeans, I appreciate that kind of detail! It was only $28 to fix and I will bring any other pairs that have the same problem.

I took my dress there last week for alterations. Before they started, I specifically asked multiple…read moretimes if they were able to properly alter this particular gown because of its design and construction. They repeatedly reassured me that they could and that there would be no issue. Based on those assurances, I trusted them with my dress. Unfortunately, they cut the dress crooked. I didn't notice until I wore it to my event, so I ended up wearing my dress crooked because of their alteration. I went back the very next day to show them the issue and ask for a refund. They told me they would fix the dress and that when I came back to pick it up, they would also give me a refund. When I returned, the dress was STILL crooked and had not been properly fixed. They also refused to give me the refund I was promised. What made the situation even more frustrating was that when I questioned why the dress was crooked, they started saying it was because of the dress itself. If they knew the design of the dress made it difficult to alter, they should have told me that BEFORE altering it. Instead, I asked them multiple times if they could do it, and they reassured me that they could. At that point, I asked them to compensate me for the price of the dress because their alteration had damaged it to the point where I could no longer wear it. I went back and forth with them countless times for over a week trying to get a resolution. I spoke with Joshua, one of the managers. Mario was the person who performed the alteration, but I did not personally speak with him. According to their "store policy," if they paid me the full price of the dress, they would get to keep the dress. I found this policy completely unreasonable, especially when the damage was caused during their alteration. I told them they needed to do something to make this right because I should not have to lose both my dress and my money because of an alteration they assured me they could do. In the end, they only paid me 60% of the price of my dress and returned the dress to me. After going through all of this, I was extremely disappointed with how they handled the situation. I had no problems with Steamers Cleaners before this, but their customer service throughout this entire situation was HORRIBLE. The biggest issue for me was not just that the alteration went wrong, but that they initially reassured me they could do the alteration, then blamed the dress when something went wrong, and made me fight for over a week to get any kind of resolution. Their promises mean very little once something goes wrong, and unfortunately, I learned that the hard way.

Lily Bridal, where I purchased my wedding gown, highly recommended them, and I'm so grateful they did. My gown was a stunning Kitty Chen designer wedding dress, and together with my cathedral veil, it was an investment many thousands of dollars. It was incredibly important to me to trust an experienced alterations expert with something so special, and from the very first fitting, I knew my dress was in the best hands. For some context, my dress was bought as is from a sample sale. As someone who is is not very tall in height, the dress visibly needed hemming. The wonderful team of Luxury Alterations successfully and beautifully hemmed my dress to my liking without losing its integrity. Even with the inches taken off from the front of my dress, they were still able to allow a beautiful train in the back which looked beautiful as shown in the photos. Additionally, I also wanted to be able to move around during my wedding dance and reception. Marine suggested a 5 point bustle that allowed me to move around and dance comfortably throughout the night. And she did it beautifully without making my dress look frumpy. It was like wearing two dresses for the price of one. As a budget bride, I was worried about cost as many times the price of alterations is as much, if not more, than the price of the gown. Fortunately, I was quoted a very fair price that, to my delight, was less than the cost of my discounted dress. My wedding was 8 months ago but I still look at my dress with awe and I have Luxury Alterations to thank for it.

I wanted to wait…read moreuntil I had some pictures to post before I wrote this review, and it took us a little while to get our photos (good work takes time!). It's also a super long review, but for Suzanna it's worth it. My wife is actually the one who recommended me to Suzanna. I was stressing out about where to take my tuxedo. I've worked with several tailors around the area and while all of them were pretty decent, none of them wowed me. It didn't help that I had some unusual requests that I knew would get some judgment and pushback from most tailors (I wanted tux sleeves and pant hem at about 4/5 length, VERY short). That's when my wife recommended Suzanna. My wife actually brought THREE of her dresses to Suzanna. My wife also had some unusual requests and she said Suzanna was super nice and easy to work with, and was willing to do the odd requests after a small amount of explaining. Encouraged by my wife's experience, I gave Suzanna a visit. She was sooo incredibly nice and friendly. She was an absolute darling. I explained to her my untraditional requests, and she gave me an unsure (but still friendly) look. She made a joke that she's gonna have to make me sign a waiver promising that I won't write a poor review if she does what I'm asking, LOL. I promised her I knew what I was asking for, and that I would not blame her for the outcome if it looked bad. She agreed to take on the job. The whole exchange was very funny and friendly. She also has great memory, I told her my then-fiancée had come in 2-3 weeks prior to drop off her dress and she still remembered exactly who I was talking about! She made sure to give me a pickup date for my tuxedo on a different day than my fiancée's so that I don't accidentally see her dress. When she told me the price for those several major alterations on a total of 3 pieces of clothing (tux top, tux pants, tux shirt), I guffawed. Suzanna asked me if it was too much. But no, it was the exact opposite. I couldn't believe how reasonable it was. It was more than fair. My then-fiancée and I went to pick up my entire wedding outfit, just 2 weeks later. When I put on the whole tux, I couldn't believe how nice everything felt. It felt so premium and so comfortable. It was literally made for me. It fit exactly how I wanted, it was perfect in every single way. Not only did it make me LOOK good, it made me FEEL comfortable, it made me FEEL good and confident, everything a well-tailored outfit should be. It was clear she is extremely talented and has an eye for her craft. So much care and effort and precision went into each article of clothing, into each stitch. And it's not just my tuxedo either, every single one of my wife's wedding dresses came out perfectly and flawlessly. She loved how each one felt and flowed. Suzanna literally did both of our entire wedding outfits. You can tell from the pictures I've posted that Suzanna did an incredible job and the outfits not only looked good in person but also came out beautifully in photographs. We'd like to thank Suzanna sincerely from the bottom of our hearts for making us look so good and feel so good for our wedding. Thanks for all the kindness and caring. Thanks for being understanding of our weird and unorthodox requests and executing our vision. Suzanna played such a big part of our wedding and her beautiful work will forever be immortalized on the photos we hang on our walls and pass down to our children. If you want your clothes done perfectly with tons of care, if you want to look and feel confident, elegant, perfectly fitted for your special day or any other occasion, definitely come here. While he did a good job, each skirt was $60 to shorten each skirt a few inches, AND it was done by machine. Both he and Heather were very nice, but I thought at the time that was excessive. I didn't do my research and check other alternatives in the area. $60 to shorten each a couple of inches on the machine, maybe 15 minutes maximum....(1 picture of hem from the underside, it's going vertical 4 some reason, the other one what u can see from the outside, going horizontal....) The machine did do a good job, but $120 for 2 skirts on a machine is excessive.... So after I read Neewin's response, I brought in another garment to hem and get taken in.
