Had a positive meeting with owner Dan on Oct 29 for over an hour, fully described what we were looking for, definitely not an ordinary remodel and would require some custom carpentry to match existing. Dale seemed to understand what we were looking for, and said we would start by demo of some drywall to see what was inside. We'd had that wall open before and we told him what he would find but were okay with this being the first step. In the contract, it did state: "This estimate is for exploratory work only. To inspect the wall for structural, wiring and any plumbing in the wall. This estimate in no way is a guarantee that we will repair or continue with the proposed remodel of Plan B. This estimate is for demo only. Blue Line Builders may elect not to proceed with Plan B due to structural issues's." We went ahead and paid for the demo that we had already marked out on the wall and frankly could have easily done ourselves. The young man that did the work was very polite and tidy. He took a bunch of pics while he was here. Waited 2 weeks, emailed Blueline twice to find out about next steps. Dan eventually replied he would need to "re-inspect what was opened up and see if this project would be something I would want to get involved in." I was concerned when I read this because I knew nothing was discovered structurally to have them decide not to perform this work--why start if you never intended to continue without justification? Why waste each others' time? Dan came out 20 Nov, was here less than 5 min, said he needed his worker to come out and remove more insulation in the ceiling to get a good idea of the load bearing wall. So the same young man came out again, and removed a good chunk of my insulation to make the attic area visible. And thats it. Haven't heard from them since. I have a 4.5ftX7ft hole in my entry and am now looking for another contractor. I don't know why they started if this did not seem to be the kind of job that fit their schedule/kind of remodel. They learned nothing from tearing open the drywall that would have led them to decide not to continue to work with us. I wish they would have just said no, not interested. UPDATE: After this review, Dale contacted me and said this was not the experience he wanted me to have, and offered to come back free of charge to patch the hole. I declined but told him I appreciated the offer. I asked him to be more frank about work that may not be their bailiwick in the future, and we parted on good terms. read more

You want to talk about horse poop, lets talk about Blue Line Builders. I had water damage to my condo and my insurance company referred me to Blue Line. I would have had a better experience getting drunk and throwing a dart at an open page in the yellow pages. Blue Line's communication was terrible. I had to email, call, and leave messages every day to find out if some one was going to show up the following day to do work. When people did show up, they were a couple of hours late. This was the norm for nearly 5 weeks. The work that was performed was poor at best. Rebuilt closet shelves were so unlevel that hangers would slide to one side. No joke. Old base molding was pulled off for dry wall repair, snapped in to two, reused and painted over. I had to call these guys back twice to fix the work they did. Blue Line sucked. I was referred to Blue Line Builders through my insurance company. I was having a complete bathroom remodel, and I was 105% satisfied with my experience using Blue Line Builders. I initially met Dale, who provided a detail itemization of my project (8 or 9 pages). I had a strict budget, so I asked Dale to provide cheaper options to some of the more expensive options I wanted. The final price was clear, upfront, and fair! Kevin was my project manager, who kept me updated on all construction and the progress of my job. In March 2020, we were looking for a licensed General Contractor to renovate a house and a separate apartment. We were exhausted after interviewing four prospective contractors. At that time, a friend recommended Blue Line Builders. How fortuitous that was for us! We called Blue Line Builders and the owner, Dale, came out the next day. We immediately liked him. He was down to earth, and his years of experience were evident. He listened to exactly what we wanted, took notes and put together a very detailed plan. He took the time to go through each line with us so that we completely understood it. Although he had a team of workers and a manager for the jobs, he was always available by phone and met with us regularly for progress checks. During the course of the work, we requested some additional work which had not been included in the original contract. This was no problem and those items were added and completed exactly as we had requested. We did not encounter the problems that you normally do with contractors. Dale is a good communicator. This review for Blue Line Builders, Inc. is long overdue. My only regret is that we didn't gift ourselves with this remodel when my Mom & Dad were alive. Owner Dale was very respectful of my wishes to keep the essence of my Parents kitchen with the added convenience of 2019. They have a keen eye, save you money where they can, and stayed with me when I decided to change the granite, again! I could trust the Blue Line team to show up on time, clean up, produce something even better than I had imagined. Clarence custom-built a recycle cabinet in this unusable corner behind a door that was just fantastic. Curtis, so respectful, helpful. The subcontractors-flooring, plumbing, were excellent. All this was orchestrated by the Project Mgr Kevin who was always available and always patient. I'm sure they have much bigger jobs, but they treated me like I was their most important customer. Blue Line Builders handled the rebuild of part of one of our rental properties after the garage was destroyed by a fire. They were able to improve upon the original 40's design of the garage itself which was their idea and came out making the space much more usable. They also had to remodel quite a bit of the interior of the home because of smoke damage and it looks incredible now. Dale and Kevin were great to work with, I communicated with Kevin throughout the project and he was thorough and pleasant and always willing to answer my questions or offer up suggestions, he is a really great project manager. We also had Blue Line Builders add a bathroom on to the property and it came out great. Overall they were fantastic to work with and I was very impressed with their attention to detail and cleanliness. I just saw the "review" from Launa C (valley center). Even though she didn't say anything about the company, I wanted to explain the reason for her anger. She is my tenant in a condo that was flooded. I hired Blue Line to do the renovation. They were doing a wonderful job considering that they had to work around my tenant and her cat. She wouldn't leave the condo while they were working. Last Thursday she removed the keys from the lockbox and wouldn't allow the workmen to enter. Now she is complaining that the job isn't getting done, but she has refused them entry. Perhaps that explains what kind of person she is. Blue Line is a wonderful company to have working for you. Dale and Kevin are pure professionals who bend over backwards to make sure you are getting everything you want on your job.
