Met up with a few friends for lunch on Friday. If you're going for a weekday lunch, get here early! It's a very busy lunch spot, but I can understand why. We started off with the curry fries and a round of Sigha Thai Beer. Curry dipping sauce for the fries was yummy. I decided to go for the Penang Curry (level 8) with prawns. I like how you can specify the level of spiciness for your curry - up to level 15! Our food arrived quickly and I immediately sampled one of my prawns. They were fresh and perfectly cooked. The curry was delicious, good level of spiciness for me. I might try taking my curry up to level 10 next time, just to see if I can handle it. For dessert, we tried the Mango Samosa. The tiny mango samosas were tasty, but I wasn't too crazy about the pineapple-coconut ice cream. I don't think pineapple-coconut ice cream is really my thing anyway. I am a frequent visitor at the Blue Mango on Steven's Creek so when I saw that they were putting a Blue Mango right next to my house I was stoked! Though the food was still good, the Stevens Creek Blue Mango is clouding my review because I think their food and service is way better. I am not sure why the food would be different...but it definitely is. Give it a whirl though, for the price and variety of items, this is a great Thai spot. If you have the time though, make the extra several mile drive to the Stevens Creek location. This is a nice little lunch joint if you like Thai food. I was surprised that they also served sushi, but the day I went with a friend of mine, I stuck to the Pad Thai, which was very tasty and nicely prepared. My dinning partner ordered the Musamum curry, which I managed to have a taste of and it too was very good, in fact I think I would order that next time I go. I liked how you got to pick how spicy you want your food that was a nice touch. For lunch the service was fast and the food was good. I think if you went for dinner they might be a little nicer with the service and give you a little more time to relax and enjoy, but overall it was good and I can't complain about the food in the least. There were small bits of food and assorted detritus on the floor. Undeterred, we ordered anyway. I had the Spicy Garlic Pork with brown rice and a couple of sushi rolls. Despite the fact that I ordered the pork with a spiciness of 10 (according to the in-house scale), it had the heat of...oh, black pepper. The food here is fantastic. Yes, service can be slow if you go at peak times. I love the panang curry and also this Prawns/scallop curry with mango/cashew/pineapple and cocunt milk. It's very tropical, yet spicy, and so good. One cool thing about this place is they give you a 1-10 spicy option. Most thai places only have mild (no spice), hot (so variable), and thai hot (you must be thai or you will die). I always get it 7, pretty spicy but not crazy. read more

We ordered maki to start and I had pad see ew for my meal. The pad see ew was great, good flavor and preparation. My husband had fried rice and enjoyed it, and another friend thought the curry was fantastic. The tuna and hamachi maki were also quite good. I happened to stumble upon this place yesterday and the desserts are by far the greatest things ever! This place is sushi and thai food. I'd pass on the sushi next time. About 15 minutes after my order was placed I was called and told that Blue Mango has a policy of $75 worth of food ordered for delivery to Los Gatos. I explained that GrubHub states minimum is $20. They told me it was the restaurant's policy. I cancelled. NEVER again will I use Blue Mango or GrubHub. Bad advertising, bait and switch! One noodle dish I got had very little flavor and when I decided to try something basic that no place service Thai food should ever get wrong, Pad Thai, it was horrible. Tasted like it was bathed in ketchup, hardly an authentic flavor! I get that they're fusion but it's supposed to be Asian fusion, not blended with American. Don't expect to be bowled over, but if you're looking for decent quality and consistent (if not very friendly) service in a very central and easily accessible location (right by Trader Joes and the Coleman Ave Target), this is a good bet. The atmosphere is what you might expect for a small, storefront restaurant in a shopping center. Somewhat cramped, but very clean, and prompt, attentive service (even if the wait staff is not especially friendly). I've been there during peak dinner hours and never needed to wait longer than 5 minutes to be seated. Be warned that a "side" of rice costs $2 extra to add to most entrees. (Perhaps it's just me, but I think that a $10-$12 entree should come with rice). read more
