A bit on the salty side but to be expected with so much meat. Crust was really yum and definitely would order from them again. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Very excited to try new pizza spots. Always am. Great vibe, music and layout. Friendly faces as you walk in. SERVICE + EXPERIENCE: We had good service. The server was attentive and very chill which I liked. Food came out hot and fast! Drinks too. I loved that thhe kitchen was open and up front. FOOD + DRINKS: Pizza was ok. A regular cheese and a Margherita was what we ordered but it was not a good mozzarella cheese. I prefer burrata on a good pizza and I can tell the difference. Really enjoyed the dough. The wings were cooked perfectly. Not to soggy but not extremely dry and crispy. I did not like the choice of sauce, teriyaki. Not my choice so I asked for bbq on the side. For some reason my fiance expected Teriyaki to be sweet but it was savory. And we like sweet. Mozzarella sticks are very cheesy which we enjoyed and had fun eating. My husband and I saw this place after having drinks across the street. We tried to order from them for week but always seem to be too late, they close quite early for a pizza place. We finally ordered early dinner just so we can try them. The pizza was undercooked. It was flooded with the tomato sauce and just wasn't thoroughly cooked. However, the price was fair! I know it's a pizza place but I am in awe of their cheesy bread. It is huge. And really good. It's basically a full pie of cheese, garlic and butter. Maybe even bigger than the pizza. Ordered to go We got a calzone (margarita) and Sicilian style grandma's pizza. The pizza or self was delicious! Love the crunch and toppings. Everything worked very well all together. The only part I didn't like was the center of the pizza was completely burnt, no toppings and no base. Just burnt part. The calzone filling tasted very good. Once again I love how everything worked with each other, the cheese, tomato's and even onion. Unfortunately it was very watered down and made the bottom very soggy. It ruined the calzone for us. Since moving to Atlanta, I still haven't found that one pizza joint I can't live without. Blue Moon Pizza is one of my favorites I've tried, but there were still a few flaws. Pros: they let you do half/half speciality pizzas. This was a huge pro since I like white pizza and my boyfriend likes pizza with sauce! We ordered a Large half white pizza half Luna pizza. Both were very good! We also ordered 6 teriyaki flavored wings. They were typical wings you would find at any pizza joint. Nothing to write home about, but still tasty! The pizza also wasn't greasy. A few pizza places in ATL have very greasy pizza, so I was very pleased with this pizza. Side note: if you're obsessed with ranch like me, they have great ranch ;) Cons: don't deliver to my house (I'm within a mile!); the pizza wasn't very warm when we picked it up; pricey!!! The meal was pricier than your average pizza spot around Buckhead. Maybe it was because we customized it to be half and half? I got the Grandmas Reg cheese pizza which btw you can't pick a size with this type of pizza because it's a Sicilian pizza. It comes with one size only. It was really good! I'm not an expert with pizzas but my husband said that the breading should've been more thicker. This type of pizza is $28.99. There's no private parking here, although at a certain time there's a business across the street that lets blue moon customers park there. Just look out for the sign that says blue mood customer parking! Atmosphere is very casual and there's a lot of TV's if you want to watch your sports! read more

And, like any other day food was great, we enjoyed the $5 margarita special today. Staff was great, and friendly. The rolls were small and dry. The menu read 'topped with garlic butter'. These were clearly not topped. The portion was small and for $6, we expected more. Blue moon has some of the best pizza and pizzeria food in Atlanta. It's not as cool as some of the other places but the food is always consistent and the staff is welcoming and friendly. The pizza crust is great and with pizza it's all about the crust. It's thin enough to eat a whole pie but sturdy enough to hold your topping. I drive from East Atlanta to go to blue moon regularly. I ventured out and tried Blue Moon pizza once my go to pizza place permanently closed their doors. It's true when they say when one door closes another one opens! I judge the quality of a pizza place based on two benchmarks: the tastiness of their classic cheese pizza aor the tastiness of their BBQ chicken pizza. This time I tried the BBQ chicken pizza. Firstly, as a person who deals with acid reflux, I was ecstatic to see they use green onions for their BBQ chicken pizza as opposed to red (no painful heartburn afterwards, woohoo!). Secondly, I opened the pizza box (I ordered to go) to find this gorgeous pizza staring back at me! The chicken on the pizza tasted very fresh and the green onions added a delightful complement to the pizza. The barbecue sauce tasted pretty good but the only thing I would request next time is that they add more! Here they drizzle the BBQ sauce on top as opposed to using it as the underlying sauce, next time I will request them to use it as the base sauce. All in all, I was pretty satisfied, like satisfied enough to eat the entire medium pizza myself (no shame). Although I am sad that my old pizza go to spot didn't survive, I am happy to have found a new home in Blue Moon Pizza. read more

After a horrible experience waiting for over an hour to order food at a nearby restaurant, Blue Moon was an oasis chock full of incredibly friendly service, great food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Their one and only strike is the parking situation: we were able to find something on the street around 9:00 on a Wednesday night, but otherwise you're stuck with valet. From the street to the table, we had 4 people greet us: two outside, the hostess, and our super friendly server Jennifer. Within minutes we had water glasses, giant pours of beer (20 oz, yo) and an order in for garlic rolls. A far cry from what we had experienced earlier in the evening. The garlic rolls were sinfully delicious. I loved the large serving of marinara sauce, as that's often my favorite part. The pizza topping options were varied and I loved that you could order half and half of any two varieties: perfect for me and my dining partner's opposite tastes. I can't speak to everything, but the Greek version was phenomenal as was the classic, and a medium is more than enough for two people. At one point in the evening we told Jennifer our tale of woefully bad service and somehow it got around to the manager. What did he do to prove how incredible this place is? He sent us free cheesecake. Incredibly tasty cheesecake. On the house. In the wise words of David K, super wonderfully nice people work here. And for them, I'll be back. I'm updating my review due to a misunderstanding, but I feel that it's the restaurants job to inform their customers of this weird *tradition*. Everything I stated in my previous review was true, except when it comes to the Margherita pizza. Let me start off by saying, I eat gluten free pizza so it's already DRYYYY. The moisture from the pizza sauce is really out here saving lives because I almost choked on my pizza after ordering delivery otp and not being told that their MARGHERITA PIZZA COMES WITH NO PIZZA SAUCE. I was beyond disappointed when I received my pizza because I have never seen such a thing. They said it's tradition for margherita pizza to have no sauce like thats word from the Italians. Now after living in NY for some time I can tell you I never ever not once ate a sauce-less pizza... that's literally one of the most important ingredients in pizza and if you're going to remove it the least you can do is INFORM me of this blasphemy. I called back because I honestly thought it was a mistake and I was met by a more than smug manager. This review could have been saved if he hadn't been so...ugh....So again.
