Our food was fabulous - the service was superb - the bathrooms were immaculate - could not have been better. I had the crab cake sandwich (lots of crab and not so much filler) and my husband had the fish sandwich (huge piece of steamy, flaky fish). Nice early evening dinner with the best service!!!!! The waitress made the experience pleasant and was helpful with drink and food choices. We started with the calamari which was the best I have ever had!! Very tender and excellent sauce and presentation. My husband had his favorite fish and chips which were perfectly cooked and huge portions. Second time there as we just moved here but will go again for sure. Yes it is loud. Louder in the bar than the dining room. Lots of GF options including a GF beer. I had mussels which I love and took home the sauce. Hubby had the roast beef special. It was delicious as was the chocolate molten cake we shared for dessert. read more

We have gone here twice and it is a great restaurant for an enjoyable meal. I recommend the burrata salad. We also happened to be there in a Sunday and the prime rib special sounded delicious and it was tender and did not disappoint. I visited Bluefish about a month ago and finally at getting around to leave a review! The ambience is quaint and cozy at BFRT, i immediately felt at peace the second I walked in. The staff were all so kind, quick shout out to our waitress Kourtney; she was so helpful, attentive and a great energy! She knew the menu like the back of her hand and answered our many questions. Ok now to the part you really want to hear about... the food. I got the calamari & mushroom crostini as an app, 10/10. The crostini was one of the best things I've had in years. Our meals were so flavorful and tasty, I got the salmon salad and loved it !! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great meal with even better service! read more

Stopped in for a late lunch. Bar was busy so we sat in dining room which only had 2 other couples. The hostess was not pleasant. Sorry we didn't have our Duxbury hat on. She sat us next to restroom doors. We asked for a window table for two by the window. So the hostess offers a table on the other side of restroom door! We asked again, as all window tables were empty. She begrudgingly sat us at a window table without saying a word. Great customer service. If she does not like people or has no grasp on dining room seating, get another job. Food was good. read more

Went here Sunday 10/22 Place completely packed. Noisy but not too bad given the size of the place and the number of people. Updates to the place were refreshing after 100 years of dark and dingy Food overall just so do. Had the fish and chips and the fish portion was large but unfortunately it was almost entirely the batter with very little fish - The salmon was tasty and cooked well but the portion couldn't have been more than 5 oz Drinks were good and service decent Will try it again after the learning curve period is over read more

Great experience at the newly opened BlueFish River Tavern. The space is warm and welcoming. The bar area is expansive with plenty of TVs. Our group started off with clam chowders, dragon wings and calamari. This course was fantastic! For entrees we got the fried chicken, swordfish steak frites and flounder special. Our second dinner experience here and it was an excellent dinner. We did not have reservations but were able to be immediately seated. My husband had the swordfish and risotto which was on the specials menu and he said it may be the best he ever had. I had the fish and chips and the portion size was very large. My food was delicious also. Our waitress was excellent. I am still talking about the meal I had the first time we had dinner there. One of the best gluten free meals I have ever had!! The menu was packed with gluten free options which was very exciting. I ordered the fisherman's platter special that had bacon wrapped scallops, fried oysters, fried haddock, fried shrimp, onion rings, and French fries. It was incredible and you would never know it was gluten free. The fish was fresh and the fried portions were super crunchy. The drinks were also phenomenal- I recommend the cranberry mule. Went recently for the first time and was very impressed with the new remodel! I guess it was a little loud but that's what you get at dinner time... didn't bother me. We were greeted immediately by the very nice and welcoming hostess who promptly sat us. The food was amazing, highly recommend the ribs and the wedge salad!! The wine was also fantastic, cold and crisp. Many things on the menu that we will need to try so yes, we will be back. Only downfall was our server could have been a bit friendlier, seemed to have a bit of a snarky attitude. Otherwise a major hit with us!! read more

On the plus side, the atmosphere is a nice update to the old Milepost Tavern, with a bright beach look and a wonderful painting of the Bluefish River. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food however, was abysmal. The swordfish was very overcooked, dry and flavorless, and the brussel sprouts so undercooked, I couldn't cut them with a knife. Basically, my dish was inedible. Fortunately we had a 4:30 reservation, so the noise level at the start was manageable, but by the time we left all conversation had stopped because of acoustics. Would like to give it one more try... we'll see. read more

Excellent meal here Saturday night. Our waitress, Carrie provided excellent service. Everyone liked their entree; we ordered the scallops with risotto, french onion soup, swordfish with fried rice, and the steak frites. All were delicious! We will go back! read more
