Lid destroyed by the heat from the food; I'm lucky none of the oily noodles spilled...
    Melissa C.

Drove to this place during my lunch break specifically for their banh mi combo. When I got there, I was told they no longer do banh mi or meal plates and only offer 3 types of burger and some random food items. Got the prawns and garlic noodles because they looked decent from the pictures; also got a Vietnamese coffee (total $25). While waiting for food, 2 other guys came in and were surprised the menu has changed significantly. Took around 5-10 mins for the food to be ready, and I grabbed it and ran back to the office. When I finally open up the bag, the lid was completely melted by the heat, and the oil from the noodles soaked through the container. Overall, the food tasted ok but was rather salty, and definitely not worth the price.

My favorite spot in South Bay. I've been going here for the past 4 years and unlike other places in the bay, this place continues to get better. Bigger portions, delicious food, decent prices. I love this place because the food is delicious AND the portions are so big, it becomes two meals for me. My usual order: * Garlic Noodles * Half Spicy pork, half beef * Green beans * Many orange sauces * Fries In terms of ambiance, it's Chipotle-style, where you order at the counter and bring it over to the table of your choice. Nothing fancy but perfect for a quick meal. Pro Tip: Use your phone number when you order - they have a "stamp card" situation where if you order 5x, you get a free appetizer. I'll usually go with friends, have them use my number and get Fries to share.

3.5 star What lured me here is the rating and the menu. I'm glad to see cauliflower rice is on the menu and I would love to make my own plate so I can control my diet options. Unfortunately when I saw the display of food, I lost control of my mind. it doesn't help that the cauliflowers rice was cooked at the back kitchen so I didn't get a visual reminder! I ended up with a mix of garlic noodle and fried rice as the base, green bean for veggie and beef for protein (while I was really planning on ordering fish). The good: portions are very generous! The bad: the meat are very heavily seasoned that the fish is really salty. The beef is soft but still heavy in taste. Lemongrass chicken is probably the lightest in terms of seasoning. Service is really nice. The lady made sure we got what we need and offered us a bag for the left over take away. The seating area is not big very very clean and neat with a big TV showing summer league basketball.

Food is very warm but too oily for me. Lots of spices inside and I don't feel very Vietnamese / Asian fusion as I expected. Staff is very friendly and nice. Lots of positive energy coming from them. They even checked on us even tho it's more like a grab and go place. The store has plenty of tables for you to sit. They even have tables outside. Water is self served.

4.75 stars rounding up Plaza parking is available but can get busy~ Jamba juice and poke poke fish is within same plaza along with couple other eateries Dining area is available but ordering is cafeteria style line with ready-to-eat foods: appetizers, sides, banh mi, meal plans (comes with 1 protein, 1 base, 1 side) I ordered: Meal plan with beef, brussel sprouts, fried rice - this is bb go-to item from here, loves the portions, beef is tender and brussel sprouts are yumz but fried rice is just standard so might opt for a different side item next time Meal plan with five-spice chicken, eggplant, garlic noodles - chicken is good but beef is tastier, eggplant was delicious and garlic noodles were yum Banh mi with roasted pork and fries - banh mi was good in flavor but bread was a bit thick (white part is baguette wasnt removed) and stale (baguette is not French baguette but ones you can get from Safeway) will try the banh mi again next time since it was tasty, and fries were bomb.com too Overall, rounded up cause of price, flavor, portion ~ the .25 deduction would've been cause I had leftovers and eating these items the day after.. there was so much sodium and possibly msg. Nonetheless, still one of bb and my fave places.. may not be the healthiest but it's definitely a treat everytime we order from here haha

Ordered online for pickup. Plenty of parking in the plaza. Food was fresh / hot. I got the Roasted Spiced Pork Banh Mi and it was delicious! They did not skimp on the ingredients. Everything went well together and was seasoned properly. Adding the eggs was worth it. Would advise being careful though as the yolk can get a little messy when you pop it. The steak cut garlic fries were also super yummy as it was nicely coated in their delicious garlic butter oyster sauce. Satisfying meal, would get again!

Stopped by for a quick lunch on our way to Valley Fair. Walking in , the food set up kinda reminded me of a an elevated Panda Express, but better. Simple menu- pick your protein, veggies, and carbs. Appetizers and banh mi sandwiches are available and made to order. Ordered the roasted pork banh mi, crispy egg rolls, and chicken combo with rice and green beans. $8 crispy egg rolls- came with 5, filled with ground up shrimp and pork. Pickled veggies and lettuce wrap accompanied the rolls. They were ok. Not a whole lot of flavor, but the lettuce wrap and veggies were a nice touch. Wish the dipping sauce was spicy. $10 Roasted pork banh mi Good size sandwich with tasty pork and crispy steak fries in a garlic butter oyster glaze. Sandwich was awesome, fries had an interesting flavor, just a little too salty for my liking. $14.50 chicken meal plan Coconut five spice chicken with rice and green beans. 4/5 pretty good, portion size is kinda small and very salty. Overall, it was ok, we left full, and very thirsty....

I love mochi, so I was really curious how it would work on a pizza. It actually worked surprisingly well. The portions-especially the seafood and pork cutlet-were generous, and I really enjoyed the subtle sweetness in the meat sauce. The blueberry yogurt drink was beautifully presented. The little heart-shaped container held syrup that you can pour over the ice to turn it into flavored shaved ice, which was a fun touch. The menu is laid out by geographic regions, which I thought was a really neat way to showcase the many different cuisines. We started with summer rolls and calamari, both of which were excellent. The summer rolls were fresh and bright, with a delicious peanut sauce that was among the best my sister (a self-described "Peanut Sauce Snob") and I had ever had. The large pieces of calamari were expertly cooked, still very tender even after frying. There was a hint of spice in the calamari dipping sauce that I quite enjoyed. For entrees, we got Pad Thai, Pad See You, and Panang Curry -- all favorites we've had many places (despite the many alluring new-to-me options, I admit we all defaulted to known quantities) -- and we were impressed across the board. Everything was flavorful, had just the right amount of spice, and came out steaming hot. We really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of this restaurant, which felt lively and friendly. It was very busy, with a line out the door by the time we left, so reservations are a good idea!

The parking lot isn't massive, but finding a spot isn't difficult, if my experience is anything to go by. Solo and duo diners are usually seated at normal tables, but large parties have the option of sitting in shoes-off washitsu rooms with tatami mats. The menu is very large, with specific sections condensing their vegetarian & gluten-free offerings. You get a paper menu detailing their specials, and the rest of the menu is accessed through a QR code (which I am personally not a fan of). True to its self-identification as a Japanese fusion tapas spot, the menu ranges from sashimi to soba to risotto korokke to pizza and so on. I recommend eating family-style with a group, as portion sizes are definitely tapas-sized, and trying a little bit of a lot is the best way to experience what Gochi has to offer. Though the atmosphere is great for a date night, the two-seater tables are set up very close to each other, so there won't be much privacy. Most of the dishes I found to be good, but perhaps not exceedingly impressive. The yuzu ceviche was stellar, with fresh fish and a strong citrus flavor, but the accompanying potato chips were a little thick and lacking salt. The sashimi was beautifully presented and fresh, but the pieces were a little smaller than I had expected. The risotto korokke was alright as well; the sauce was great, but the risotto inside was a little bland. Overall, I thought this to be a decently enjoyable experience. The atmosphere is great, the service is good, and the food is varied and interesting. The dishes range from being pretty affordable small dishes to a little too pricey to be worth what you get, so I'd definitely spend a little extra time perusing the menu. I will likely return to try some of the other items in the future.

We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and it was one of those meals where everyone at the table found something they loved. One dish I was surprisingly impressed by was the Ankimo (steamed monkfish liver in ponzu). I'll admit, the word liver immediately made me hesitant, and if they hadn't told me what it was, I probably would've been less nervous trying it. But I'm really glad I did because it was incredibly buttery, smooth, and rich. It almost melts in your mouth, and I honestly think it would pair perfectly with a bowl of steamed rice. We also ordered the Hiyayakko (cold tofu with ginger & scallions), which was a really refreshing starter. The tofu was silky smooth and delicate, and the ginger, scallions, and soy-based seasoning added just enough flavor without taking away from the freshness of the tofu. It was simple, but really well done. We also ordered the Salmon Mayo Yaki Onigiri. While it was good, I think this is the one dish I'd probably skip next time. The crispy grilled rice ball itself was delicious, but there just wasn't enough salmon mayo on top. It felt like I only got a tiny spoonful, so once that was gone, it was mostly just rice. Since my family couldn't decide, we ended up ordering all three clay pots: the Sake Oyako Meshi (grilled salmon & salmon roe), Unagi Meshi (BBQ freshwater eel), and Tori Soboro Meshi (braised ground chicken). Out of all of them, the Unagi Meshi was easily my favorite. The eel was tender, slightly smoky, and coated in a sweet-savory glaze that soaked into the rice underneath, making every bite incredibly satisfying. The clay pots also gave the rice a nice crispy layer on the bottom, which added even more texture. We also shared two of their signature pizzas: the Mentai Kinoko and the Nasu Curry. I wasn't expecting much since it's pizza at a Japanese restaurant, but they were honestly so good. The crust was paper-thin, crispy, and light, so it didn't leave you feeling heavy afterward. The Mentai Kinoko had a great balance of spicy cod roe, snow crab, mushrooms, bacon, and cheese, while the Nasu Curry had a rich curry flavor that paired surprisingly well with the eggplant and cheese. Both were huge hits with my family. The restaurant itself has a warm, traditional Japanese atmosphere that makes it feel cozy and inviting. The server was incredibly friendly and helpful, taking the time to explain the menu and recommend dishes when we couldn't decide what to order. Their recommendations definitely did not disappoint. My whole family left happy, and it's one of those restaurants where I already know I'll be coming back to try even more of the menu.
