My wife and I were in Galveston for our "pre-honeymoon" trip just after our wedding. To be frank, our hotel experience down the street was a complete disaster and had left my new wife in tears. We walked out of the hotel restaurant and went to BLVD Seafood hoping to salvage our night. ​From the moment we walked in, the entire experience was a 180-degree turnaround. ​We were immediately greeted with smiles. When they learned we had just gotten married, the staff was incredibly warm and congratulated us genuinely. The service was PHENOMENAL all night. Our server Martin was attentive, kind, and actually listened to us and checked in on us regularly. ​The manager, Yvonne, was absolutely amazing. She came over, and we shared our horrible experience from the hotel. She was so empathetic, apologized on BEHALF of the hotel's bad service, and even comped us some drinks to celebrate our marriage. ​This team turned what was a stressful, upsetting night (and trip in general) into a beautiful celebration. They truly understand hospitality and how to treat people. The food was fantastic (10/10), but it was the service that made our night. Came here for a graduation brunch so we were seated in a separate room as the usual crowd but the place was packed on a Sunday! Our waitress Misti Jo was on point. I have no idea how she managed to take care of our entire room in a timely and efficient manner but she did. She even anticipated our needs and especially ours with a three year old. The food was delicious. I got the chilaquiles and my husband ordered the Benedict which came with shrimp and andouille sausage. Appetizers were fried calamari which were super tasty and well fried with all the parts. Parking wasn't available in the parking lot but there was street parking (for free) with not too far of a walk. Restrooms were clean and the shared sinks between were fun to see who you ran into. Stopped in here in Galveston, Texas and want something light and quick for lunch so I ordered the recommended shrimp stuff with crab and a lemon butter sauce. The waitress was very nice and expedient attending to all my needs. The restaurant sits across from the beach. The restaurant is also a little outdated but the food on a scale of one to 10 was a 7.5. We began our celebration of New Year's 2025 with supper at BLVD seafood. Martin was our server and he was moving non stop. As busy as he was, he did a great job of keeping up with our drinks and checking in on us regularly. If you've never been, it's a great restaurant. It's small and parking in their lot is limited, but there's plenty of parking on the adjacent streets. It can get noisy, but not annoying in my opinion. Linda had prosecco and I had their old fashioned. We had calamari for an appetizer, Linda had shrimp, half grilled and half coconut with rice and green beans. Everything was delicious, and well prepared. I had the Flat fish stack, 2 flounder filets with a crab cake in between them, mushroom risotto, green beans with mornay sauce . Not a very big place, so during dinner hours there may be a wait for a table. This is more of an adult or family with older kids place. We will be back next time in Galveston!! read more

This place has been a favorite of ours when we go down to Galveston for a few days of fun and relaxation. The seafood is so fresh and the service is top notch, not pretentious or stuffy but friendly and accommodating. The dining room is pretty basic and has a friendly coastal feeling to it, walls painted in soft shades of color, nice artwork and lights that don't blind you but also don't leave you looking for a flashlight! We especially enjoy their crab cakes and calamari which come as health size appetizers. We enjoyed their mouthwatering seafood entrees, both the red snapper and a lovely redfish which I think had some crab in the lovely sauce. What nice dinner would not be complete without something from the dessert selections and BVLD Seafood did not disappoint! Their Bread Pudding is sinfully rich and so tasty that my wife almost wouldn't share it with me! It's in a great location, just off of Seawall Blvd and 3 blocks south of The Pleasure Pier. read more

We frequently visit this restaurant and often drive to Galveston for the day just to eat here. Every time we visit, the food is exceptional, served fresh and hot, service is always attentive. On busy days such as Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc. I recommend to make a reservation via Open Table directly or from their website. (Note: calling to make a reservation can be a bit challenging) Other than this minor hiccup, we have always had an exceptional experience and walk away super duper full! How did we miss this place!!! We frequent the Galveston island seawall often. The food at BLVD seafood is great! We tried the crab cake, pecan crusted red snapper and the fish and grits! The crab cake was tasty, it comes with several sauces. The snapper was excellent. It comes with scalloped potatoes and green beans. Nicely seasoned and very flavorful. The shrimp and grits is presented in a big bowl with asparagus and garlic toast. Its really one of the best I have tasted. The service was really good. The server was knowledgeable and friendly. The food is freshly prepared so service is not super fast but that's what it takes to prepare a meal right. The place is like a normal seafood place. Not super fancy but it's comfortable and clean. I have a few suggestions and a few criticisms about this restaurant, but what they did good they did phenomenally good and that is why they are getting five stars. The atmosphere is like a local bar. The room is big but somewhat crowded and not too private. We started with the wedge salad and the gumbo. The gumbo was good. The salad was very good, but I would have preferred the bacon to be crispy. It appeared more raw to me. And I would've added a little bit more balsamic glaze. Otherwise it was very, very good. We had the stuffed shrimp as an appetizer and it was made perfectly. We got the lemon sauce on the side. I know those weren't great descriptions, but they were all very good. I ordered the crabcake from the appetizer menu and added rice, pilaf and green beans with it. I loved what I ordered. The crab cake was nice and high and thick and it was on a plate with Avocado mash, tartar sauce and an orange sauce which I don't remember what it is at this moment. Next time, I would get it without the tartar sauce because I felt the tartar sauce, overpowered the flavor of the crabcake sort of hiding the flavor because all you can taste is tartar sauce. But, again. It was done very well! The rice pilaf was the best rice pilaf I have ever had and the green beans were perfectly cooked. And not every restaurant gets that right. If you go, you have to order the chocolate mousse. No question about it even if you can only have four spoonfuls. It is so worth it. It is the best chocolate mousse I have ever had and maybe one of the best desserts I've ever had. The hazelnut cream on the top I thought would be light and airy like whipped cream, but it wasn't. It had substance to it, and it was delicious. And then, as you dig deeper, you get to the chocolate mousse, which, again, I thought would be light and airy, but it was dense as well. And as dense it was is as deep as the chocolate flavor was. Oh!!! How could I forget the garlic bread!! Nice and crunchy on the outside and soft and firm on the inside. Some of the best garlic bread I have had. My only dilemma at this point is what to order next time. Do I stay with what I love or do I try something new? read more

This was our one nice meal in Galveston after being in town for Youth baseball. I called ahead, got put on the list, and our table was ready within five or ten minutes. It's a small, cute place, bustling, so kids being respectfully noisy won't bother anyone. I got the scallop app with grits for my meal and I loved it. The grits were certainly dense, thick, very flavorful, and went nicely with the sweet elements of the scallops. My husband got the three pepper chicken, which was also delicious. Kids had meals they enjoyed as well. The kids tenders were enough for two young kids, and they were delicious. BLVD Seafood was an overall nice dining experience. It is right on the Seawall and offers ample parking. The interior offers seating at the bar, raised booths, or tables on the dining room floor. They have a full service bar with nice liquor selections. Also there are TV and views of the Gulf. The atmosphere is chill but warrants a minimal dress code, so you won't pay $30/plate and eat next to someone in a swimsuit with dripping wet hair. All team members we encountered were delightful and welcoming. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. Our drinks were delightful; my favorite being the cucumber martini. Menu offerings were plentiful and it was difficult making a decision. We decided on the Gulf Snapper, 3 Pepper Chicken, and Seafood Blvd Sampler for entrees and spinach, mac n cheese, and white rice for sides. The presentation of each meal was superb. The flavors were rather muted and the temperature of all items was less than desirable. However, the textures were up to par. I'm not sure if we would visit again as there is plenty of good quality foods with more flavor on the strip. Don't regret stopping in to try it though! read more

Three cheers for my very favorite restaurant in Galveston. I don't know how one place can have the best clam chowder and the best seafood gumbo I have ever had but here we are. The pasta with chicken was a large and satisfying choice for a hungry kid, the shrimp and cheesy grits were fantastic, and the cedar place salmon with the mustard sauce was just so good. We requested the salmon cooked medium, but blackened, and they totally delivered. Friendly service, upscale but casual interior, they just don't miss. Unfortunately I didn't get to try most of it since I'm allergic to all nuts and they couldn't make alterations to the dishes (at least 50% of the menu has nuts) The oysters were pretty good although I prefer East coast oysters. The crab cake was also really hearty and yummy with good flavor profile. The gumbo was absolutely delicious and had a good amount of seafood in it. Third time here in a month. Always for lunch and we keep coming back. The food is good, service attentive and dining room is inviting. Grilled oysters are good and from the Gulf, so - large. Crab sliders are nice but the Peanut Butter Jalapeño Bacon Beef Sliders are deceptively good. Who would have thought? I've seen the idea of peanut butter and a hamburger before but always in a full size burger. So I didn't go there. But in a slider format, we went in and it works. Bartenders are good and specialty drinks are great. I prefer the Old Cuban, which is there riff on a Mojito. My wife enjoys their Blueberry Lemon Martini. The signature Bloody Mary is good and a bit overwhelming with the accoutrements: bacon, shrimp, olives, etc. Do not hesitate to visit BLVD. You won't be disappointed. read more

First time dining at BLVD Seafood after seeing the highly reviewed yelp, we decided to give it a try! The place is clean and there is plenty of tables. I love the open bar and the view of the kitchen. We were seated immediately on a Friday night at 5:30pm for dinner. There were plenty of tables and booths but quickly got full as time went on. Our waiter was great and checked in often. We ordered the following: * Cruiser linguine with blacken shrimp 4/5: It was tasty but heavy on the pasta and sauce. The sauce was creamy but a bit heavy. Shrimp was perfect with the dish but I wish there was a little bit more since there's a bunch of pasta. The cherry tomatoes help cut through the heavy cream and I felt the seasoning was on point. The garlic bread was perfect to soak in all the sauce. It was a good linguine dish but it was so heavy I had to stop eating it and boxed it most to go. When reheating at home, so much butter separated from the sauce and I got stomach pain from eating the left overs. Not sure what happened for I've eaten left over before and never had this happened. We went from dining there and straight back which is 3 mins away from the restaurant. * gumbo 5/5: talk about elevated gumbo! You can taste the smoked paprika and unique flavor of the gumbo. Honestly one of the best gumbo I've ever had! The spice was on point and has a kick but does not blow your palate away. Everything in the gumbo was delish and I wish I ordered this instead of the pasta! Highly recommended dish! * crab cake 1/5: the crab cake was filled mostly stuffing then crab. The crab was there but wasn't the star in the crab cake. It was mushy and I was not a fan of the flavor. Even with the purée sauce the crab cake fell flat. Do not recommend this crab cake. The dish only comes with 1 crab cake. * raw oysters, gulf oysters is $24 a dozen and murder blue point oysters $30. I liked the gulf oysters because they were fresh. I do not recommend the murder or blue point oysters because many tasted dead. My family used to own oysters boats so I know a dead oyster when I taste one. 3 out of 6 oysters were dead. I didn't know until after I order these that they were from Alabama... the waiter was hyping them so that is why we got 6 gulf oysters and 6 murder blue point oysters. Waiter first told us it's called blue point oysters but then when we got the receipt we saw the oyster showed as " murder point". We are still unsure if we got murder point oysters or blue point oysters but they weren't good! Better to stick with local gulf oysters that are bigger and weren't dead. Do I recommend this place? This place was by far the best surprise of our entire spring break trip to Galveston this year. We did find this place on yelp and wanted to try it since it was highly reviewed. The food was outstanding and so was the service they had plenty of options for kids as well. I had this softshell crab special and it was to die for. my husband got a shrimp platter of some kind and it was amazing. They had great wine and drink specials as well. The service was absolutely fantastic. Very helpful. Very kind. The ambience was great. There were tons of windows in the restaurant so you could see the seawall in the ocean. the restaurant itself is somewhat petite but you don't feel crowded or claustrophobic at all. They had both a lunch and dinner menu to choose from. We started off with a crab cake which was a bit pricey for just one, and it was cold when we got it which was then put on the house. We decided to order a half gumbo and half salad which was my favorite. The gumbo was very flavorful and filled with a variety of condiments including rice, sausage, and crab meat. We also got the BLVD sampler that included blackened scallops, shrimp and red fish which was relatively heavy on the grease and came with sides including scalloped potatoes and green beans. Green beans were a bit bland and the potatoes were a bit too creamy for my liking. Was a bit disappointed as there were so many reviews on this place.
