Stop by after a long time. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Service was below average for this kind of restaurant.

So this was the Bob Evans near my moms house. Normally I can't stand this Bb Evans, but this particular day we had the best customer service you could EVER receive. Our servers name was Naketa Robinson. The food was phenomenal as always (probably because her sister was on the grill), but Naketa's attentive and personality made a usually annoying situation pleasant. She paid attention to our orders & took her time with us. My mom and I didn't feel rushed & we weren't forced to order something we didn't want. We have never had a problem with the food at any Bob Evans, but for once the customer service matched it! Bob Evans on Route 40 has a new set of Loyals!

This is one of the better Bob Evans. Restaurant is clean and the staff are all very nice. For what they do, the restaurant is good. They have some great family-size meal options during COVID-19. I wish they would bring back their spaghetti- it was so good. I would recommend the chain to offer more comfort-food options. Upon checkout, I ordered a banana-nut loaf and a family-size chicken soup for tomorrow. It was about $8 extra.

This is proof that I placed the right order.

I ordered two PremiumFarmhouse Feast- Serves up to 10 for my job party. When the food arrived, the order wasn't right. So when I called the store, they told me that I ordered the 8 serves, not the 10. I told them that I ordered the 10, and I was missing 2 hams and Mac & cheese. They then proceeded to tell me to read the box and tell them what's written on the box. They box stated T-8 what was clearly wrong. So they kept telling me I ordered the 8 servings. So I told the manager I knew what I ordered and also how much I paid. So we went back in, forth then I remembered I took a screenshot of the receipt. So when I told him he asked me to text it to him. Once he got the text, he called me and said he was on his way to deliver it himself. Once he got there, he was still telling me I ordered something else and just got free food. I told him that he hadn't given me anything free. At this point, I knew I wasn't going to order from them again. As for the party, everything turned out well. I put a picture of my order so everyone can see.

I decided to dine at this Bob Evans location for breakfast for their Veterans Day meal deal. Once I entered this Bob Evans, I placed my name on the wait list and was advised there was a thirty minute wait due to the number Veterans that were dining. COVID-19 regulated guidelines were acknowledged, as well as social distancing. One hour later, I was seated at a booth. Once I was seated, I was advised there would be another thirty minute wait after I ordered my meal. I will have to acknowledge the hard work and excellent customer service that my waitress: Kychante "Kee Kee" Parker did during my dining experience. Complimentary Bob Evans signature sausage gravy and freshly-baked biscuits was provided to reduce the wait time on my meal. Shortly afterwards, my meal was brought to my table. I enjoyed my Veterans Day breakfast at this Bob Evans location.

I used to frequent Bob Evans as a child and I always loved it, but for some reason I stopped going as I got older. This was my first visit in years but everything was just as good as I remember. The pancakes were soft and fluffy. The bacon and sausages were crispy, just how I like them. The only thing I didn't like was that my eggs were pretty cold by the time they came out but everything else was delicious and the service was great! I'll definitely be back again soon.

Breakfast out with the hubs is always a nice treat, but usually better when both of us are satisfied with the meal. Unfortunately, my end of breakfast was a real bust. The hubs ordered the Whole Hog and since he doesn't eat pancakes or French toast, I decided to take them from him and just order the Blue Ribbon Bacon so that I completed my meal. While the idea was good, the execution was not. Let me preface this by saying that my husband enjoyed his portion of the meal which was perfectly cooked eggs, bacon, sausage, ham and home fries. My portion needed work. Both the French toast and pancake were undercooked. So much so that I still tasted the pancake batter, even with butter and syrup, and parts of my French toast were not cooked at all. The worst however, was the bacon. The description read: "...hardwood smoked bacon glazed with real brown sugar, honey and black pepper." What I got were strips of overcooked bacon, minus the brown sugar, honey and black pepper, but covered in syrup. Epic fail! Usually we go to the Double T Diner, but in an effort to 'revisit an old friend', we opted for Bob Evans. We won't be doing that again. Even the service was lackluster and if the food is mediocre, good service at least warrants a retry. Not here. Not ever again.

I used to see people wearing Bob Evans hats in college but I had no idea where it came from. Now I know! Bob Evans is a casual dining, family restaurant. Reminded me a little of IHOP. We went on a Sat afternoon and it was very busy. It was only two of us and the wait was about 10 minutes. I started off with a strawberry lemonade and it was so good. I thought I wanted something small like soup but I saw the chicken and waffles and just went for it. I'd rather chicken on the bone for chicken and waffles but these came with strips. The meal was tasty but I've definitely had better chicken and waffles. Probably should have gotten the soup or breakfast. Since it reminded me of IHOP, I should have known not to order dinner items. The staff were very friendly from beginning to end.

This is a familiar place that updates the look and menu now and then, yet still feels like home. We often get a beet salad when it's available. Matthew's is scrumptious, with tender sweet juicy roasted beets, tasty grilled chicken, red onion slices and fresh spinach, tangy crumbled bleu cheese, and delightful candied walnuts, complimented by tart raspberry vinaigrette. By the way, it's gluten-free. We loved the rich cream of crab soup du jour, full of crab lumps and full of flavor, with a little spice from good old Old Bay. Delicious and dreamy. Their quesadillas were served a la carte as an appetizer, loaded with savory roasted chicken, heavy with a mild cheese and a lightly spicy flavorful thick red sauce, rolled in tender lightly seared flour tortillas. Generous and satisfying. Matthew's building dates from around 1862 as a station and hotel at the end of a horse-car line, before electricity! It's been through around 5 names over the years, and has been the Parsons family's Matthew's 1600 since 2004. We've felt comfortable and welcomed here for decades. It has plenty of free parking in their own lot. By the way, many of their already reasonable prices are discounted a little if you pay cash. That's a endearing way of keeping it real in Catonsville, only charging when it costs them.

We were able to flag down our waiter and inform him of the error and he went to the kitchen to get some on the side. It wasn't on it as it was intended but it was still good. I would come back--especially for the eggroll sampler.

My husband ordered the Shack Burger (medium rare with cheddar and bacon) and said it was a total winner. He loved the char-grilled flavor and said the patty was a great size. He did mention his hand-cut fries could have been a little hotter, but the texture and crispiness were spot on. My kiddos got some items from the children's menu - sliders and tenders - and seemed to enjoy them. The whole family split some fried pickle appetizers. They were a little thick, but not too thick, and nicely fried with a tasty dipping sauce; I'd get this again. I got the Maryland crab soup. It was pretty standard; I've had better and I've had worse - nothing to write home about. My wife got the hot turkey sandwich, which was smothered in gravy. On a cool night, it was just what she wanted. There are some pretty standard cocktails as well as about a dozen beers on tap that included some local and some domestic brews. My waitress graciously let me see the whole list and snap a picture since I was being a bit indecisive at first. Overall, it didn't blow my socks off but nothing was bad either. The prices were fair and the service friendly.

Apparently the tavern is connected to but not owned by the same folks at the brewery. It's also seemingly one of the only spots in town that's open seven days a week. Finding parking was surprisingly difficult on a Sunday night, but I circled around until I found a spot. The place seemed pretty packed, with folks waiting for tables, but since I was just there for the beer, I was sent upstairs to the bar. A couple of really nice bartenders were on duty and helped me right away. I got an amber beer which went down smooth, and I opted to get a pizza too. Heads up: If you're vegan you can basically sub out any pizza for a vegan option, but be certain to ask about ingredients, as no one pointed out the white sauce isn't vegan until I asked. I like spice and smokiness, so I opted for the Holy Smoke -- Alabama White BBQ, Tavern Blend Cheese, Cheddar, Smoky BBQ Sauce, Pulled Chicken, Pickled Jalapeños, Corn, Hardwood Smoke -- according to the menu. The pizza came out super quickly and it smelled like a campfire... in a really good way. The pizza was tasty and the crust was also realllly good. I ate half of it and took the other half to go, which ended up being another meal. And I can confirm it tastes good cold too! I'd definitely come back here, particularly on a warm day when the patio is open (it was raining pretty hard when I was there, so sadly, no outdoor seating). The people are super friendly and the menu definitely has a lot of options. If you're in Ellicott City, put it on your list!
