My friend and I are both in Livonia, but we will occasionally drive all the way to this specific location since we will only eat at this Bob Evens. The Bob Evans located in Livonia and Canton are both terrible for both food and service and we refuse to eat at either one. This location has consistently good food and good service. My friend has a medical disease which restricts what he is able to swallow. He had a rather bad time with the waiter who very curtly told my friend he was unable to substitute soup nor mac-and-cheese for any of the vegetables which he is unable to swallow. So my friend was forced to pay separately for both the soup and mac-and-cheese in addition to his entire meal. I ate the green beans from his plate. He was so angry he did complain to the manger, who did indeed make things more than right! That female manager was so wonderful, words cannot express my gratitude. This incident happened in the evening of 10-2-2021. That female manager should be commended if the right people see this review. Again, neither one of the other Bob Evans locations would have been so kind to both me and my friend. So just a thank-you from both me and my friend. read more

The two people running the front counter were friendly and pleasant. The food however ... I ordered Wildfire Chicken salad and chicken noodle soup. Nothing was seasoned. Even adding some salt to the soup, and it still had no flavor. And it wasn't even close to lukewarm, had to mic it. Ok, why not review a chain? And I'm kind of embarrassed commenting on a restaurant who's average age is about twice mine, but this particular Bob Evans deserves some props. It's close to my house so I've been there a few times, and it's always good for a decent breakfast with some good biscuits and honey. Bob Evans is Bob Evans, but the wait staff at this one tops most of the restaurants I've been in a while. The hostess remembered us the 2nd time we went, and started calling us by name each time we came in. I also saw her hugging other patrons and asking about their families. The wait staff laughs and jokes and sings with each other and everyone pitches in to help everyone. The manager visits the tables and laughs with the patrons. It's like that whenever I go there and their good spirits are pretty contagious. I went to a different one once, and the server looked and acted like she had just come off of a 14 hour bender - just not the same. Great job guys and keep smiling! read more

They revamped their menu. They kept old favorites but added healthier choices to the new menus. I like their pick 3 in which you get a soup or salad, a choice of dinners and a dessert. Good pricing. And as always I love the as much as you want buns/biscuits/ banana or cherry bread. Which is not good for me, but I just can't just have one. Service was friendly and quick. Came back several times to fill up our coffees. I like this place because its good American fare that is not too fancy. I can relax here. I like the remodel better than what it used to look like, but I miss the leaving the thermos of coffee on your table, so you don't have to bug the waitress. I'll have to come back here for breakfast sometime, since it all looks so good. read more

This is as good as a Bob Evans gets. The employees are friendly, the kitchen sounds happy when breakfast gets busy. The food is very consistent. If you like Bob Evans breakfast, this one does it right. On our last three visits, our server has been Sharonda and she is fantastic. My 99 year old mom and went to Bob Evan's in Dearborn. We walked in and stood to be seated and waited and waited and waited. One person was at the cash register waiting on a customer and 3 men behind the counter talking. All 3 could see us standing there. After their talk on e walked right by us and the others walked away. Nobody asked to seat us. My mom and me looked at each other and said nobody cares to seat us, so we left out the door. I went back in and asked to see the manager. She I told her what happened and said she was sorry but didn't sound sincere and I told her they just lost 2 customers which she didn't seem to really care. I left this place highly impressed. Not sure if I'd ever been to a Bob Evans before but I will be going back. Great service, the restaurant was clean, and the food was delicious and fresh. I try to tolerate this place once a week because my 91 year Father enjoys the turkey dinner. It's hit or miss with the service and for this to be a large restaurant chain, one would expect higher quality of food and customer service. This Bob Evans location (on E. Mich. Ave.), has always had Great Food & Service too. We go here quite often, usually for B'fast and an occasional dinner, and have never been disappointed stopping here. For the last 3 years, at Thanksgiving, we've ordered the Farmhouse Feast - Turkey, that feeds 4 people. It's just the two of us, but I know there would be enough food for 4 people, if it was needed. The food is packed cold, and you just have to heat & serve. Easy Peazy! The food is just Awesome! It really is! Everything tastes like it was home cooked, without the effort and fuss! The turkey is all white meat, sliced breast, and sooo moist & flavorful. And all the side dishes are Awesome too! There's enough food, that we usually have 2 complete dinners, without skimping on anything! At first, I had a hard time selling her on the idea, of ordering the Thanksgiving Dinner from Bob Evans. Now....She orders it, and pays for it too!! We have come here of breakfast a few times and always had great service, but I have say this thanksgiving we ordered the thanksgiving farmhouse premium meal.... IT WAS AMAZING! Literally my worst experience at a restaurant ever. Silverware had food on it before using. We had to ask for new silverware. Children screaming. Table was dirty. Ordered the Farmers Choice Breakfast, every item was cold. Chose bacon as my meat, then added sausage on the side. Only got sausage and no bacon. Was charged for sausage. Water tasted bad. The toast was easily the best item because of the butter. I spent $12 on the worst food I've had in a long time and didn't' get all the food. This happened at 12pm Mon, October 10th, 2016. read more

This Bob Evans have been remodeled & looks great. The food is still great of course, I've never had anything here that I didn't like so that's a plus. The service varies, sometimes it's great and sometimes it's not so great but that doesn't stop me from coming here. Slow wait staff (in her defense, she had two really large parties and us). And except for the biscuits, mediocre food. High priced, lower quality. I haven't been to Bob Evans restaurants in a few years. The ambiance of the place isn't as warm and inviting as the old decor of Bob Evans restaurants due to the lack of woods, but it is more open and less claustrophobic than the old decor due to the use of tables instead of booths. I must say that the place was very clean. However, I do like the new uniforms. The new uniforms are a bit more modern and classy than the frumpy old dark uniforms. Coming in the door, my wife and I were met by the hostess who instantly seated us. We didn't have to wait at all to be seated. There was one frazzled waitress in the section who was very nice. And there was a nice deputy general manager who checked on us to make sure that we enjoyed our meal. There were a few problems which delayed out meal just a bit, but we weren't concerned due to the waitress making sure to check up on us and check on the progress of our meals. We couldn't get any flavorings for our drinks, because they were out; so, we couldn't get any flavored ice tea or flavored lemonade. The vegetable soup with beef was nice. Unlike some restaurant vegetable soups with beef, this one was actually meaty. The buttermilk biscuits were a bit on the dry side inside. They were tasty, but dry. You want your biscuits to be crisp and flaky on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. I recommend you put lots of butter inside these biscuits. There was a problem where we couldn't get the white meat selection of the three piece broasted chicken, but that was okay. My wife and I were cool with having a mix of white and dark meat. The outside of the chicken was a nice golden brown. It had flavor. And the meat was juicy and flavorful as well. The home fries were soft and tender on the inside and nicely crisp on the outside. They weren't greasy. The buttered sweet corn was sweet, buttery and freshly crisp. Then, there was the desert. I got the fruit cup which consists of seasonal fruits. In this case, it had bananas, red grapes and pineapple. All of the fruit was fresh. Based upon the quality of service that we got and the quality of food that we ate, I would have rated this place higher. However, I had to count off, because the meal was slow to come out even though there weren't that many customers there at the time. read more

Went here for dinner on a weekday and it was fairly empty. No big deal as we were seated quickly and got our drink orders in. Everyone in my party opted for banana nut bread, which normally is good from Bob Evans. This time it was really doughy and undercooked. I was in the mood for a spinach and feta omelette, but they didn't have feta, so I opted for spinach and onion. The onions were hardly cooked, spinach just slightly wilted over the eggs and to make matters worse the eggs were overcooked. Service wasn't excellent, but sufficient-the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. Lousy food and also overpriced for the quality. There are better establishments to patronize in this area. read more

Surprisingly poor service. My partner and I came in for breakfast and as we approached the hostess stand he asked how many, I said two he then took us to a table and we asked if it was possible to have a booth he said yes and took us to another booth. After waiting 20 minutes, and watching two families who came in after us be served before we even had silverware or water, we then walked out of the restaurant. I understand this is a hot spot for breakfast on Sundays but that was unacceptable. Safe to say I won't be returning to this location. read more

This Bob Evan's location has fallen off so badly in the past year or so. We used to eat here weekly, at least. If it's dinner rush, we wait forever just to have our drink order taken. Food takes even longer. There's usually no manager in sight - and I am NOT one to complain - but a manager should be helping servers when it's too much for them. It seems there is a new manager here now, equally as bad. 2 years ago this was our favorite place. Super friendly staff, awesome food & service. I'm really sad to see this particular store have gotten to the place it is. We keep trying to give them another chance, because we truly used to love it. But now, the staff is immature, unprofessional (we hear them talking from the kitchen a lot of times). The food - hit or miss. Usually miss. Our last visit (which actually was our LAST visit) the turkey was hard and cold, the rolls were hard, and cold...I actually sent mine and my sons meals back (which I don't do, ever) and they were remade, equally as unimpressive. I hope Bob's can get it together. I really do hate to see this location crumble, but at this rate, it'll be closed down in a year. read more

Last night myself and my aunt and mother went here for dinner. It was a simply painful and long affair. Everything started out fine and service seemed fairly good. When the entrees arrived everything sort of went off the rails. My aunt Asked for mustard and ketchup for her burger while my mother was sitting there with nothing in front of her. After about 5 to 10 minutes that condiments arrived. After another 10 I was watching the time at this point. My mothers grilled chicken and mashed potatoes arrived. Cold. When she cut into them she was greeted with a bloody raw chicken breast. After asking to see a manager twice she showed up to correct things and too her credit in very quick order got a new plate out to her in short order, and gave us a discount this might have salvaged the whole affair back to simple not very good if it hadn't taken another 20+ minutes to get the bill. read more

First time eating at a Bob Evans. Went in and was wanting a sit down meal, as we had driven all day. The floor in the kitchen area was dirty with garbage and items on the floor. They seated us in a table near the bathroom. There were several booths that hadn't been cleared and remained that way for quite some time. I took that they were short handed for the night. Our server came to our table and told us he would be taking care of us for the night. He also said this is where they put you, it took me a minute to find you. He told us he would be back soon. He apologized for the wait, which I didn't think was that long. It also wasn't to capacity as the restaurant was fairly empty. Another server came and asked if we had seen our server. We told her we had and she said ok and left. He came back after taking care of several other tables all over the restaurant, not in our area. He took our orders, and came back with our drinks. While handing out our drinks one slipped out of his hand and spilled all over us. Both my wife and my self had chocolate milk all over our shirts. He did apologize, and I do understand that accidents do happen. We never had a manager come check on us, my wife and my self cleaned up the majority of the spill, and we had to go into the bathroom to try to wash out our shirts so stains wouldn't set in. This in conjunction with the dirty floor, the person from the kitchen who was coughing profusely in the bathroom, and the spilled drinks, we felt we needed to cancel our order. Not to say Bob Evans is a bad restaurant, just had a horrible experience this particular day at this particular Bob Evans. read more

Id say this is a a average place. 5 of us went. 2 people out of 3 had toast that was burnt to the point of black. The other got an English muffin and it was leaking butter. Way to much. 2 of us got pot roast hash. The meat was good but wow they dumped so much salt on it. Another person in the group ordered the same and felt the exact same. It was not good. Our server Eli was very friendly and helpful. We were provided everything we needed in a timely manner and the food was delicious! The only issue we had during our visit was the lady at the cash register. Our bill was $21.96 and my father gave her $23.00 (We left the tip on the table for Eli already). The cashier gave him 4 cents back. He said "I think I gave you an extra dollar". The cashier was quick to respond with "you gave me $23.00". Apparently she didn't notice $23.00-$21.96= $1.04. She also did not offer him a copy of the receipt. My dad just laughed it off and pretended he had a brain freeze. The issue is not at all that she may have made a mistake, because she's human and it happens to all of us! Plus, it was only a dollar so it isn't the end of the world. The problem was her tone of voice and neglect to consider looking back at the receipt to double check. My dad was kind enough to let it go and laugh it off. I suppose she will realize it when they have an extra dollar in the drawer later. Hopefully they add it to Eli's tips because that's where he was going to put it. read more

Real good food, great friendly staff. Ate here twice for late supper on a recent stay in Dearborn. Food was good and satisfying portion size. Best part was the service! Christine and Dominic were extremely helpful and took the time to give us great information on sites we wanted to visit in Dearborn and Detroit. This was especially considerate on their part as it was late and at the end of their shifts. We are now fans of Bob Evans and hope they make it out here to Southern California. read more

Black people beware! They do not treat us fairly and will make you wait 1hr before serving...if they do that. My family stopped here for dinner and they served everyone except us; the only black family there. i refuse to believe that it takes 1 hr. to cook french toast. I used to go here with my Mom when she was still with us. I went in late one afternoon by myself and was seated by a waitress. She asked what I wanted to drink, brought the drink and never returned to take my order. She only had 2 other tables in her section that were occupied and 1 of them was finished eating. She proceeded to seat another table, brought their drinks and took their order. She came back to her original table that was finished and gave them the check. I kept signalling her that I was ready to order but she never responded. After sitting for 15 mins without my order being taken , I left. I won't be back. read more

My fiance and I waited about 30 mins to be seated which was fine until we noticed the hostess continued to skip our name. We watched numerous parties that came in after us get seated.
