My family and I had lunch at this Bob Evans over the weekend while we were shopping at Legends. The staff was very friendly and attentive. There was a minor mistake with our order but it was okay anyway and as soon as our waiter heard me say that there was an issue he jumped right on trying to fix it. This isn't a gourmet dining experience by any means, but it was quick, clean, with great customer service, and my family of four had plenty of food for about $25. read more

Went for lunch at 1:00. They weren't crowded, stood near hostess stand while I watched SIX employees do absolutely nothing but visit with each other. Got here and waited over 40 min to be seated. 6 tables went in front of us that came after. We had 7 people not 17. Then there were 8 empty tables all around us. One of the worst restaurant experiences ever! The biscuits and gravy were non-edible. The ceiling had multiple water spots and what looked like mold on the trim. I have never eaten at a Bob Evans restaurant, and I will never attempt to again. We arrived with our party of 11 (large, I know), prepared for a bit of a wait at 10:10 on a Sunday morning. Waiting area was empty. Gave the hostess our info and she blatantly gave a deep sigh. Hostess then said they had just seated a party of 12, and the wait would be 20-30 minutes. No problem. After waiting 50 minutes, we inquired about our table, to then be informed that there is only ONE TABLE in the entire restaurant for large parties. We then asked if we could split our group, and were told no because approximately 40 people had been seated ahead of us and the restaurant was now full. We have visited this restaurant numerous times and were very surprised by this experience. They are having a problem w/air conditioning and humidity, which made the floors super slippery (their explanation). They need to close to address the issue before someone falls. The bathroom was very dirty and did not appear to have any attention for sometime. I almost decided to leave because of it and probably should have. We were seated next to a window and noticed how filthy the blinds and window sill was - yuck! Our server was fine and generally prompt, although we did wait a long time for our food. Everything was extremely salty, and meatloaf was just short of being burned. Horrible service. No hostess, we (as well as others) wrote our own names on the clipboard. After waiting over 45 minutes and watching 2 other tables walk out who were seated before us we were finally approached by a young guy who was snotty and rude, he was still buttoning up his maroon dress shirt in the middle of The restaurant. What a disaster. Half of the tables were open yet about 30 people were waiting to be sat. We stood around for 10 minutes or so before we had to grab an employee to get our name on the list. We waited around another 10 minutes or so before just deciding to go elsewhere. This was probably a good indication of why I keep seeing Bob Evans get closed down. read more

Used to enjoy coming here, but we plan to never come back because of the terrible service. On our most recent visit, which was in May 2015, we.... - were brought to a table that still had the cleaning towel on it - did not get a waitress until we asked for one - did not get silverware until we asked for it - did not get our bread until we asked for it - had a waitress that did not write down our orders, and then had 3 out of 4 orders arrive at the table that were not correct - overheard a waitress imploring the other staff to hurry with the food because another table had been waiting for a long time From the time we sat down and began the wait for our waitress, I could tell we made a mistake. We nearly left, but stuck it out. I wish we had left. I would have rather taken the money we spent and gone just about anywhere else. Went here yesterday for lunch, we love Bob Evans and was really disappointed when they closed the location near us in Liberty. So - we made it a day and did some shopping at the Legends and had lunch. I love, love their chicken and noodles on top of a biscuit and mashed potatoes!! It was pretty busy when we arrived shortly after 12:30 and it was kind of a wait for the food but well worth it. So for my first post on yelp, i guess ill post something negative. What a terrible place. Service is terrible and the wait time is really long. The food we ordered came out wrong and we didn't even bother sending it back since it would of probably taken even longer to come back out. Service staff wasn't attentive and they really seemed annoyed when asked for help. I'm still surprised this place is still operating. I recommend a change in management or a revamp in staff training. I'll also send a complaint to the corporate office because I've never been so disappointed and frustrated. read more

I'm sorry to say that I am unhappy with the restaurant this time and cannot recommend it very highly. They were allowing their waitresses to bus tables which is not healthy to the customer. There are many highly contagious illnesses that can be transferred this way. several customers walked out. This is a simple fix. Let a sixteen year old bus tables for tips. I noticed that several restaurants have been making their waitresses bus tables. Makes me want to eat at home and deal with the inconvenience rather than eat out. We just moved to KCK, by Legends, so I had to try the good ol' Bob Evans. It was awesome. Food was great, service was great. I don't understand all the complaints about timing on food, I feel like we waited an appropriate amount of time for how fresh and cooked to order it was. I'm embarrassed about this next part, but I need to get it out there; so far, they have the best chicken fried steak I've ever had in KC, and I'm always searching for the perfect CFS. Waited 20 minutes for coffee or water. Egg shell on one of the coffee cups. Loud, annoying music playing in the background. It's January 1st and colder in here than it is outside. It's been 45 minutes and we have our drinks but still no food. Just got the food and it wasn't real hot. The bacon was cold. They forgot my potatoes. Horrible! Husband went for breakfast and said it took 20 minutes to get a drink order, when he finally got his food it was cold and tasted mediocre. They double charged my debit card, I showed them that it was double charged and it's been almost a week later and they've done nothing about it. They assured me that it wasn't double charged. Food was good but the service made the experience quite bad. It took 15 minutes to get our waters to drink. Then it took 45 minutes and multiple mistakes on the order before the food finally made its way to the table. Our waters were not refilled until after the food finally came out, and we had to ask for that. My daughter ordered a meal in which "endless rolls" were a part, but she didn't get them until the meal arrived--even after asking for them with her salad. We stopped here thinking we'd get a quick good meal before the 2 hour drive home, but that sure didn't happen. We will never stop here again--there are plenty of alternatives in the area! read more

We stopped on a Saturday evening around 7:00 pm. The restaurant was about half full. I took my children to the restroom which was filthy with standing water on the floor from a toilet. The rest of the restaurant was not the cleanest by any means. Our waitress Jennifer was nice and helpful. She promptly got us drinks and took our orders. For religious reasons I do not eat pork/bacon. For allergy reasons I do not eat onions. Tonight 8/19/2019 I ordered a chicken sandwich with no bacon or onions. It came to the table with both on it. It's a mistake, those happen, I understand. I requested they cook me a new sandwich and the waitress said ok. She took it back and I watched the cook take off the bacon and melt fresh cheese on it (while the waitress watched) and send it back out. When it arrived I asked my pleasant waitress if the cook had made a fresh sandwich. To which she stated yes I think so. I was very disappointed with her lack of character. It was the very same plate and the fries were still sitting in bacon grease and it reeked of bacon. When I told her I knew it had not been made fresh she apologized and took it back to the woman cooking. They argued a bit and we could hear the waitress tell the cook just do whatever he won't know. Mind you I had discussed with the waitress about why no bacon or onion. For the next 15-20 minutes while it was cooking the chef kept looking out at me and giving me dirty looks. When the waitress returned with the sandwich on a new plate it looked "ok" but hidden under the cheese was a nasty layer of bacon grease. It was obvious the cook had cooked it either with bacon or in bacon grease and tried to hide it. I did not eat my sandwich, I just checked out. The cashier asked me how it was and I stated I will never return and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. She simply said ok.
