Hi! I'm back here today with my husband, since he had never been to this location and so happy to say he enjoyed it and as for me likewise!! I came back for the pork chops and their Clam Chowder soup and Garlic toast. We were tooooo stuffed for dessert! We love the vibes here, it has that 50's feel(to me at least), and we loved the Bob's Big Boys Memorabilia they have throughout the restaurant...such a fun vibe! And last but not least...the service was FANTASTIC!! Tina our server was so nice and warm...and without even asking, she gave us additional napkins on our table. Food came on time and even the person that brought our food was very friendly and a happy person! You can tell (at least the people that helped us today) they are happy to be here.

First and foremost this place is so iconic to our So Cal culture.. The building itself with everything inside of it is fairly intact from when it was built @1949. It's an old skool diner that's open late and offers delicious meals... (Diner items) I ordered breakfast this morning .. A breakfast sandwich with a side of hash browns.. It was nothing extraordinary... However it was cooked to perfection, served piping hot and tasted like something I would have made at home.. I was solo and sat the counter, the server was very attentive and friendly! I feel the service at establishments are as equally as important as the items they serve!

Iconic!!! Came here after a full moon hike and it was sooooo good. Honestly this is an institution so I don't need to review this but I want to share my pics. Delicious diner food lol. That's it. I'd be back!!

3/4/26 So me and my dad met with an old co worker of ours to have lunch and catch up. When we arrived was pretty busy but not bad about 5-8min wait really was pretty quick to seated. Jana was our server and she was great. We ordered our food and I got the "Super Big Boy" combo. We all basically got Big boy combos. I hadn't had Bob's in quite a while. It was pretty good. I remember it being a little better the last time I had had but it didn't disappoint. It was still delicious and good fries. Got a Mocha shake that was really nice and creamy and great mocha flavor. All in all we really enjoyed our food and company. I'm sure I will visit again sometime when back down this way . We used to come almost Friday night for classic car show they had in the lot and get burgers and see all the cars hence the pic from back in the day. I think they still do the car show. Enjoy !!!!

My 1st pastrami burger & what it's SUPPOSED to look like. The 2nd time, pastrami was lacking & there was barely any mozzarella.

Well, Bob's has outdone itself yet again! I just can't get over the fast & friendly service & the FOOD is so yummy...SO good, in fact, that I returned a mere two days after my last visit to reorder the pastrami burger (which is actually enough for two people) & the chocolate milkshake...complete with whipped cream & a cherry on top, of course! And during my last visit, I got to check out the weekly classic car show! My only complaint for the second time I ordered the pastrami burger is that there definitely wasn't the 3 oz. of pastrami as the menu describes & there was barely any mozzarella cheese...not even a full slice. Yes, the restaurant was busy but the food preparation should be consistent.

Always nostalgic and fun- outdoor pet friendly seating- good sized counter seating inside - large free parking lot- can't go wrong with the fried chicken, burgers or the shakes. Friendly servers. Accommodated grandson's birthday dinner and were fine with us bringing our own cake to celebrate. Kids enjoyed looking at all the fun merchandise some collectors items some for sale.

Though I've lived in Los Angeles nearly 40 years, I've only been to Bob's a handful of times. After quite a few years, today was one of those times, and I'm really glad I decided to grab lunch at this legendary foodie fixture in Burbank. You can't beat the atmosphere; that mid-century modern design, the orange decor, the counter service and plush booths, all lovingly kept clean and shiny. The staff is uniformly friendly, and they work fast. Orders are taken quickly and the food arrives in little more than 5 minutes. These folks have been doing this a very long time, and their experience is our good fortune. I ordered the Original Big Boy Combo, because how could I not? The combo includes their Original Big Boy Burger, fries or fruit, and a salad to start. I declined the salad, as it's a very good sized portion and I knew I wasn't hungry enough to eat it all. But the folks next to me were enjoying their salads quite a bit, and they really did look very fresh and good. The namesake Big Boy is that double-stacked burger on a 3-piece bun that predates the Big Mac, and outpaces McDonald's pale imposter by leaps and bounds. Two fresh beef patties are paired with American cheese, lettuce, a touch of mayo and a nice slather of Bob's red burger relish, which adds a nice tang without having that overpowering flavor of cheap pickles. Additionally, that relish combines nicely with the mayo to create a whisper of the Thousand Island Dressing taste without the overly thick consistency of the now very ubiquitous "burger sauce" that's everywhere. This is a good, hearty burger that really satisfies, while the fries came hot, nicely salted and appropriately crisp. Now let's talk prices. This combo, which is a very generous portion of food (especially if you also eat the included salad), with a soda and tax came out to about $19.49. Around $5 more than the Big Mac combo at McDonald's -- but a far superior meal, with fresh flavors, good quality ingredients, a relaxing environment, and a friendly staff. This is a great value: filling, tasty, and happy-making. If you haven't been -- or haven't been in a while, like me -- stop in soon and enjoy.

I really like this place. It's an old school feeling attraction almost out of a movie. Ironically very close to universal studios hollywood. Workers are so nice and the vibes are great. Good tasted very quality for a diner. I got the old fashioned steak and eggs and it did not disappoint. You can go for a family breakfast all the way to a causal business breakfast. On to lunch and dinner here soon...

The best Patty melt and the best milkshake I've ever had. I mean, it's gotta be, it's an iconic diner! Service was quick. There was a wait, but we opted for the first-come, first-served bar area. The ambiance was abdundaunt. Packed on a Saturday at 5 pm, fun, loud, and nostalgic.

BOB'S BIG BOY IS STILL BIG ======================= Another oldie, but goodie diner is still going strong. Our good friends invited us to meet them for dinner on Sunday, November 16, 2025. My husband and I had not been to Bob's Big Boy in ages, so it was nice to go there again. The Yelper that I am decided to peruse all the Yelp reviews, photos and menu. The photos and a lot of the reviews really don't do it justice, but I do recommend looking at them. Some Yelp friends have written some great reviews and have included photos and I always appreciate that. After looking at the menu and the evening being a bit rainy and cool I definitely wanted to order something warm. I decided to order the open face turkey sandwich. It came with a crisp side dinner salad and that was very good. I was really happy with the turkey as well and requested all white meat which I got. The mashed potatoes, gravy and beets were delicious as well. My husband loved their chicken fried steak, so that was good. If he doesn't like the food he will never go back. Luckily we can go back again. One of our friends ordered the veggie melt and her husband ordered their famous double decker burger. They go there quite often, so they have ordered those before and they like them. We were all pretty stuffed after eating dinner, but my husband ordered the hot fudge chocolate sundae. I didn't try that, but it looked good. Our friend ordered the Bob's famous hot fudge cake. I took a bite and that was good. Watch out for your clothes with that one. The next time I would like to go on a Friday night to check out the cars.

    Still the same!

This place is not around on the East Coast anymore( they closed them), or so I've not seen one since I was a kid! Walking into this place was nostalgic! The menu still has the square chocolate cake with the vanilla ice cream in the middle! My spaghetti was still the same as I can remember, so good! The waitress was a bit busy; however, she stayed the course in making sure our food order was placed and came out on time without delay. It's old pictures hanging and just feels like the 70s, lol. Please stay open! I will be back!

This is a diner and it looks fantastic after all of these years they keep the same menu and provide consistently good food with great service. Breakfast is what they do best but any meal is good. They host some car shows from time to time and have great weekly specials so be sure to check that out.

Bob’s Big Boy Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Bob’s Big Boy

Does the waiters/waitresses have tip pooling or tip sharing (ie the tips gets placed into a big pot and the total is divided amongst the staff)?

As far as I know, we have to add tips on our bills if we like to.

Does the Burbank location have a breakfast buffet?

No buffet, but they serve breakfast all day!

    Are there any vegan options?

It's Bob's Big Boy Hamburger. When in Rome you don't order Chinese. There are plenty of vegan places here in LA and Orange County. Bob's does what they do, and they do it well. If you're a herbivore, I would not go to Bob's.

Do they serve beer or wine?

    No.

    Open on thanksgiving?

You should check their website and/or call them directly. Businesses do not check the Yelp pages for their place.

Is their full menu available at all times? In other words, can I get a burger for breakfast?

Yes for sure! Entire menu always available.

I tried to order through the website but I got an error message. It not working?

I don't think that service is available anymore.

Do they take reservations for bdays?

I would actually call the restaurant and inquire.

Do they still have outdoor dining?

    Yes, on their front patio.

Does Bob Big Boy Offer Military Discount?

Is Friday classic car night back?

    Yes!!

Does anyone know if this is open yet for dine in?

    Yes

Does anyone know if Bob's Big Boy has opened dining room yet?

Yes they have! I went there earlier this week. They seat you at every other table for social distancing. When we ent is was a weekday so there was no line. I suspect weekends might have a line to get in.

Do they have gluten free bun options for their sandwiches or burgers?

well my dad got one with lettuce, lol

Do they serve breakfast all day?

Yes they do, and it's delicious!!

    Do they deliver?

    Nope.

The staff knew some of them by name or their regular orders. For a server to recognize a customer and talk to them and care for them is what Juan S. Did. He was our server and was so nice, friendly and helpful especially this being our first time dining at Tallyrand. Attentive to all of the tables in our immediate area, conversing with the regulars and caring for them while listening to them. Our food was outstanding, a good sized menu offering various house specialties and all looked amazing. We went with the Turkey dinner and it was fabulous, like having Thanksgiving dinner without having to cook and clean up. Salad or soup option for starters that came with incredible fresh hot sourdough bread before the entree arrived. Good sized portions at reasonable prices served hot and tasting just like home. We had to go with the famous house baked peach pie à la mode and try a cup of coffee. Both spectacular as well. The perfect trifecta, starting with great service by Juan S. That said, there's definitely potential for it to be higher. Lancers has that classic family restaurant feel, and overall the meal was decent. I ordered two meals: the beef dip and the fish and chips. I'd give the beef dip a 3/5 and the fish itself a solid 5/5. The fish was nice and flaky, and the batter was phenomenal. Crispy, light, and not greasy. The oil didn't seem old or overused, which I appreciated. However, it was disappointing that the fish wasn't served with a lemon wedge, which would have really complemented the dish. I ended up having to ask for one, but our server didn't stop by the table after dropping off our food. We had to wave her down to get her attention. The beef dip had good flavor, but the meat was served cold. Even so, it was still enjoyable. The bread appeared to have been toasted, but it wasn't crispy at all. In fact, I asked for the sandwich to be boxed up almost immediately because I already knew I was going to take it home and make it better myself. The whole time I was thinking how good it would be with some horseradish and cheese, then popped into the air fryer for a few minutes. The sandwich had potential, but it needed a little more attention in execution. The turkey gravy was another miss. I ordered it for the fries, but it wasn't thick enough. It definitely could have used more flour. The consistency was closer to the au jus that came with the beef dip than a traditional turkey gravy. Overall, there were some highlights, especially the fish, but a few execution issues and inattentive service kept the meal from being better than average.

I was starving and had been craving a tostada salad for years, so we stopped at Foxy's, a place I'd been going to off and on since the 80s. Both Maria and I ordered the chicken tostada salad, and what arrived was incredibly disappointing.!!! The chicken was bland, tasted like frozen chicken with fake grill marks, and there was barely any of it. The salad itself was mostly lettuce and baby spinach. Seriously, who the hell puts baby spinach in a tostada salad? We were so dissatisfied with those salads that we told the waitress to take them back because we didn't want them. The waitress, who was also the cashier, suggested that we order something else instead. Maria ordered a cheeseburger that came with fries. Since she used to come to Foxy's about 20 years ago when her kids were in junior high, and because she knows I like carne asada burritos, she suggested I order the carne asada burrito because she remembered them being huge back then. Well, not anymore. The burrito was much smaller than what she remembered, and after I took literally one tiny bite just to taste it, I immediately noticed bell peppers in it. Wtf? What kind of idiot puts bell peppers in a carne asada burrito? I asked Maria if they used to put bell peppers in them years ago, and she immediately said no. Maria tasted it herself and was disgusted by it too. When I say I barely touched it, I mean it. I literally took one small taste, Maria barely had a bite herself, and there was still approximately seven-eighths of that burrito left sitting on the plate. To top it all off, the burrito also came with stale-ass tortilla chips! Since I couldn't stomach the salad or the burrito, I ended up eating only half of Maria's dry, tasteless, cardboard-like cheeseburger and exactly four fries because by that point I was disgusted with the entire meal. The final bill came to $41.90. I'm on a fixed income. Paying $41.90 for half of a dry cheeseburger, four fries, and food we barely touched because it was so bad is frustrating enough. Being asked whether I wanted to take home a box for a burrito that still had seven-eighths left felt downright insulting. No thank you. I don't take home food that I thought was crap! When I was paying, I told the waitress/cashier, "I wish I could speak to your manager." She told me he was right there, but I explained that I was already going to be late for my doctor's appointment and didn't want to have to reschedule until next week. I spend three days a week at dialysis and use my other days for specialist appointments and medical visits, so my schedule is already difficult enough to manage. I told her I would call the manager when I got home. When I finally spoke with the manager later, he asked me, "Why didn't you tell them you didn't like it? They would have taken it off the bill." That response left me confused because the waitress already knew exactly how dissatisfied we were from the moment the salads went back untouched. She knew we rejected them. She knew we ordered replacement meals because of them. She knew I barely touched the burrito. She knew Maria disliked it too. She knew there was almost an entire burrito left sitting on the plate. If taking it off the bill was an option, why wasn't that offered at the time? Why wasn't there an offer for a discount, partial credit, or some kind of accommodation? At the very least, after watching customers send back meals and barely touch the replacements, comping a dessert to go would have been a nice gesture. This experience was disappointing from beginning to end, especially because I remembered Foxy's so fondly from years ago. Ewww!! Never again!!!!

We tried Basecamp Dinette this morning, as a party of three at about 10am. (06/06/2026). This is…read moremy first time at this restaurant. The restaurant is located in the beautiful Rancho Equestrian neighborhood of Burbank. There is not that much parking in the lot; however, there is plenty of free neighborhood parking nearby. This is a cute cafe with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. You order at the counter and then they will bring the food to you. The line was pretty constant the entire 2+ hours of our visit; however, they seem to have a steady flow in and out. The person at the counter who took our order was very friendly and she made appropriate recommendations when asked questions. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy, which came with two eggs and a side. I ordered country potatoes as my side. Since I do not eat eggs, she was kind enough to replace my eggs with a side of fruit, which I enjoyed very much. To drink, I had the Peach Arnold Palmer. Everything was very good, and I had an excellent time. This is the definition of a great neighborhood restaurant, and I was very pleased -- until next time!

You order at the register and the food is brought to you. I hate when they ask for a tip before you are served, and this place does just that. Hubby tipped 15%. Service involved having our food brought to our table. There are no garbage cans; you can't clear your leftover mess. You leave it. So, they deserve a tip. We had a pulled pork sandwich, a steak sandwich, ribs, a sample platter, and chicken salad. Sides included sweet potato fries, cole slaw, and onion rings. All were very good. The ribs were so spicy we thought they were Jamaican-jerk style. My daughter, who ordered them, was not pleased. Hubby and I ate most of them. I loved the chicken salad with apples, not so sure about the mustard, but it was OK. Lunch for 5 with sides, beverages, tax, and tip was $126.
