All Meat Breakfast Burrito (no cheese) and a Hashbrown

Finally hit up this spot today! I was hoping to try their iced cafe de olla, but they only have half and half as a creamer option and I can't have dairy. My boyfriend and I came here and ordered at the counter, which is cash only. They do have an iPad to place a "mobile" order in store if needed, but they take online orders. The place was busy. But we found parking and seating easy. Our wait to order was not long at all. What did take long was getting our food. The kitchen was SO active whipping out orders, but they have a HUGE take-out and DoorDash business, and it seems those orders are prioritized. It took us 40+ minutes to get our breakfast burrito and two hashbrowns. Now, we don't always mind a wait, but it didn't feel like this food was worth that kind of wait. Listen, it IS good. But not 40 minute wait good. What makes this place different from other local spots is their salsa- it's spicy and more like a salsa relish. Very fresh flavor! I also like their beverage options, from energy drinks to Gatorade to cafe de olla! This is a hard working spot that whips out some good food, we just will likely keep going to other spots that are closer with a little quicker service in the future. I'd recommend ordering online if you're coming in!

The wait will make or break you. Today I waited 28 mins for a bacon breakfast burrito...... with 70 other people, lol. This breakfast burrito belongs on the top 10 list of California Breakfast Burrito's (Larry's down the street is another), but it could be "the best breakfast burrito in Burbank." The thing that makes them unique is the undercooked potatoes with their unique cheese. This, cut with the acidity of the spicy salsa works incredibly well." Looks like new management since I used to come here, but it's the same "Ford T assembly line madness." I recommend that, a plain bacon breakfast burr, plus extra chile(salsa).

Drove by here a couple times and noticed quite a flock of people hanging around on Saturday mornings. After our run at Griffith Park we came here to join the breakfast crowd. They have self service kiosks, one is outside and one is inside. They do cash only at the counter register. Drinks like coffee are served up quick. But you'll expect to wait at least 15-20 minutes for your breakfast burritos. There are a lot of delivery drivers here picking up orders, so the place is probably 2 or 3 times busier than it might look. The burrito is a nice soft golden color, among the most beautiful burritos I've seen. We ordered extra crispy potatoes but the didn't seem any crispier that ordinary ones. Didn't get that satisfying double fried potato crunch. Their salsa is award winning although it's not clear what the award was. They let you know up front that it's spicy. And it truly is! I don't think they have a mild version. Might want to get a cold drink to wash down the heat. One burrito was enough for two people trying to manage the size of their waistlines. Ample parking but you might have to park on a nearby street at peak times.

I lived in California 20+ years ago for about a year and used to come to Burbank almost every weekend to grab a burrito from here. 24 years later and I came back for an apt and here it is, smaller burritos but just as good as they were back then.

This place is seriously the size of a small cottage on a corner located in Burbank, haha. (CASH ONLY - at least when you order at the counter) Besides the apt naming, this place is a no frills spot that primarily serves takeout breakfast burritos during breakfast hours and for lunch, there's a menu of burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches. I came here for a breakfast burrito. You can choose to have your salsa mixed into your burrito or have a cup or two on the side. And although there is some seating - counters, a few tables inside, and some tables outside in the back - it seams a lot of their business is takeout, especially when it's really busy. I ordered the breakfast burrito with ham. Like I mentioned, this place is no frills so I had an idea what to expect and they delivered. The flavors are more old school and that lots of the filling are cooked on a griddle with their potatoes a little lower on the crisp scale. It's a good size breakfast burrito and you definitely aren't hungry after finishing one. The salsa has a good kick without being too spicy. What truly amazing is the price. Of the many breakfast burrito offerings across the city, this feels like one of the better values. Also, know that this place can get really busy so wait times will be adjusted accordingly. It took about 25 mins for my burrito. I think there's a way to order on some app or online because it seemed like other people were picking up while I was sitting there waiting for my order. There's some lot parking and plenty of street parking nearby. Especially in the morning on a weekend, there seemed to be lots of parking available outside of their lot.

Just Okay - Not Worth the Hype Heard all the hype about Corner Cottage being the spot for breakfast burritos, so I had to try it. As a Hispanic guy who's had plenty of great burritos, I was honestly disappointed. I ordered the sausage, egg, potato, and cheese burrito with their famous hot sauce. The sauce was spicy, sure--but the burrito itself? Pretty average. Not bad, just not worth the long 20-30 minute wait. The staff was friendly and hardworking, and there's a good amount of parking, which is a plus. But if you're coming here because of social media, manage your expectations. It's not the "holy grail" people make it out to be.

The good: 1. Affordable burritos! $9 a burrito 2. Line is usually out the door 3. It's a community staple 4. Burritos themselves are pretty delicious for what you pay for 5. It's a unique American twist to the classic burrito. Scalloped potatoes (idk why everyone is complaining, I think the potatoes are delicious!) as well as American cheese (I'm a big fan of American cheese) 6. Their salsa is suuuper good The bad: 1. In the two times I've been here w my gf, we've had to wait 30-40 minutes for our 2 burritos. 2. Burritos don't really have any meat. Mostly just cheese and burritos. To be frank, I feel like the burrito maybe had 1 or 2 sausages total that were cut up and distributed. I understand that they're affordable and you can pay more for an all meat burrito ($16 though which is a pretty penny!) 3. Cash only (not really a bad thing but gonna put this out there as most people rely on card now and can be seen as an iconvenience) Overall, these folks work really hard. There is an insane amount of people who want these burritos and it takes a whole lot of manpower to feed the community like that. I might be back, but probably will need to order an hour ahead of time. I ordered 30 min ahead of time and still had to wait another 10 minutes on top.

I ordered the bacon burrito online ahead of time on a Sunday around 11am. The wait was about an hour, and I received a text when my order was ready. The burrito was good, and the salsa was really tasty. The salsa is spicy but flavorful! I'd recommend getting the salsa on the side. They have a parking lot and outdoor seating. There is also street parking around the area.

I got the bowl and this place never disappoints! You want a proper order get the burrito double meet double eggs extra cheese, TRUST.

Ask the Community - Corner Cottage

Can you phone in your order?

Yes you can. you can order online now at order.cornercottage.com

What is the phone number I always call the number on yelp and google but they don't answer?

That number is correct sometimes when it's busy especially Friday/Saturday they take it off the hook. But during the week keep trying they'll eventually pick up

    Are they open on Saturday?

Yea at 7am and they stop serving breakfast burritos at 11am. Also you will wait a while on Saturdays.

Is corner cottage still open? I tried visiting a few times for breakfast and its been closed and the phone line is always busy?

Yes it's still open, they sometimes close on days around holidays. The phone is busy often from people calling in orders and usually on Friday or Saturday they take it off the hook since it's so busy.

Are there onions in the salsa?

What time do you guys stop making breakfast?

    11 am

Are the hours accurate? Been here twice and they're not open at 7am on Saturday.......

I've never been so I'm not very helpful but perhaps call later in the day and ask what their hours of operation are. Also I have to wonder if they have adjusted hours due to this whole Covid fiasco.

Does anyone if they are still open during this pandemic?

    Yes, take out only.

When's the best time to go so it's not busy?

    When they first open...

Can you order over the phone and then pick up?

Yes but not during breakfast times. They are too busy

What time do they stop selling breakfast?

They stop selling breakfast burritos at 11 am. You'd better get there before then, as the line is long and so is the wait. But, man, are they worth the wait. The homemade salsa is fantastic. Good luck and may your taste buds be delighted.

Anybody know what's in their salsa?

Home made very hot I usually ask for easy sauce some like it on the side I know that is very popular I hope I answered your question it has jalapeño probably onion and cilantro I am just guessing from the taste

Do they offer vegan breakfast options? It came up as a vegan friendly spot on yelp but I don't think that's accurate

To be honest I don't believe they do. I've never inquired about vegan options so I could be wrong!

    - Broken Compass Tiki…read more My girlfriend and I absolutely loved Broken Compass Tiki. I originally found it on TikTok, followed up with a few YouTube videos, and knew I had to check it out the next time we were in Burbank. It completely lived up to the hype. Parking can be a little challenging since it's in Burbank, but we got lucky and found a street parking spot nearby. If you don't get as lucky, driving around the block or into the surrounding neighborhood should eventually turn something up. We arrived about 20 minutes after they opened, and there were already several people inside. By the time we left, the place was filling up quickly, so it's definitely a popular spot. I surprised my girlfriend by keeping the destination a secret and just telling her we were going somewhere fun with a unique theme. She loved it. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Both the bartender and our server were incredibly welcoming. Our server asked whether it was our first visit and took the time to ask what kinds of drinks we normally enjoy before making recommendations. I really appreciated that he wasn't just trying to upsell us. Instead, he explained why he thought certain cocktails were better choices based on our preferences, and every recommendation ended up being spot on. As you'd expect from a tiki bar, the cocktail menu is heavily rum-focused, but there are also non-alcoholic drinks, a small beer selection, and wine available if rum isn't your thing. I ordered the Zombie Magic first, which was delicious and definitely packed a punch. After that, I tried the 100 Year Cigar, a Scotch-based cocktail that was perfect for slowly sipping. Both drinks were fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the Painkiller and the Navy Grog, and she loved both of them. We started with the Shut It Polly wings, crispy chicken wings tossed in a spicy Thai peanut sauce, and they were outstanding. We also ordered the Aloha Dippers with the Cajun seasoning. I paired mine with the Chipotle Citrus Aioli, while my girlfriend chose the Firecracker sauce. Both dipping sauces were excellent and complemented the fries really well. For our entrées, I ordered the Pub Burger with Irish cheddar, onion strings, and horseradish aioli, cooked to order. It was excellent. My girlfriend ordered the Shrimp & Lobster Roll, and we both enjoyed it. The only item that didn't quite meet our expectations was the macaroni salad that came with our meals. We've had some incredible macaroni salad at Hawaiian restaurants, and this one just didn't quite compare. It certainly wasn't bad, but it was the one part of the meal that didn't stand out. One thing that really impressed me was how accommodating the staff was regarding my raw fruit allergy. I explained what I could and couldn't safely eat or drink, and our server took it seriously. He made sure every cocktail recommendation was safe for me without sacrificing flavor or experience. That level of attention made me feel comfortable ordering drinks I otherwise might have avoided. The décor is also worth mentioning. The pirate-themed exterior transitions into a fun pirate-and-tiki atmosphere inside that really adds to the experience without feeling overdone. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. The drinks were strong and creative, the food was excellent, the service was some of the best we've had in a long time, and the atmosphere was a blast. There are still plenty of cocktails on the menu that I'd like to try, so we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Burbank.

First, their cafe de olla is absolutely delicious. This remains one of the only places where I genuinely enjoy ordering cafe de olla. Second, their food is incredible. The only downside is that every time I've come, there has usually been a bit of a wait, especially because the restaurant itself is pretty small with limited seating. The inside is cute, but small, so we usually end up sitting outside. This is where their Monrovia location does have the advantage because it has much more space. Parking can also be tricky. Good luck finding a spot close enough where you don't have to walk far. We usually end up parking in the residential area around the corner. My friend and I went into this Cafe De Olla on the 17th of this month at 2pm. She met me there and lives in Burbank. I have been here once, I believe back in 2018. It was pretty solid in every way. We were warmly greeted by Erick--the host, standing by the podium and right away he got us a seat inside. After like 5 minutes, Elsa, our server approached us to take our order. My friend and I both felt like we were being rushed through our meal. Food came out hot and quick. We opted for a few of their dishes. Tacos Mananeros, came with 4 tacos ($18.95), with 4 complimentary sauces. 2 of the sauces were very spicy and Elsa didn't warn us. We also got the Veggie Omelette with tomatoes, onions, spinach, mushrooms, Jack cheese, topped with avocado and a side order of hash browns. They made the hash browns perfectly. Told her nice and crispy on the top and that's what we got. (18.95). We also shared their French Toast topped with Strawberry, Blueberries, and Blackberries. ($16.95) topped with lots of Whipped Cream (which I love) and a side of syrup. We needed to add more syrup to make the French Toast more moist. The French Toast was a bit dry for our liking. Even the people sitting next to us who ordered the same thing were saying the same. On the flip side, the other 2 dishes tasted fresh and delicious. Great portions for the prices. We also got this drink called Powerful from their smoothies section of the menu. It was called Green Smoothie. Ingredients were the following: blueberries, honey, Greek Vanilla yogurt, avocado and Almond milk. It was simply very refreshing and delicious. My friend wanted some sort of Latte, Espresso, Americano, etc..but they didn't have any of those drinks. All they had was regular & decaf coffee. At first, I asked for Cranberry juice, and Jose, said they only had Apple and Orange juice. We found it a bit odd not to have any of those drinks. Going back to our server Elsa, she was a bit aloof and forgetful. I asked for a bowl of fruit, and it never made it to our table. After we were done eating, I asked for two to-go boxes and a bag, she forgot that too. We had to ask the other employees to get them for us. The same with to-go containers for our sauces. She forgot to bring napkins too. Jose, (our busboy), needs a raise and promotion! This young man read all the ingredients on the Taco menu which came with: bacon & egg, chorizo with potato & eggs, machaka/eggs, & nopaitos/eggs. The writing in their menu was very small. Another server by the name of Angel, truly was an angel. Checked on us while Elsa was taking orders over the phone. They have another location in Monrovia, a gender neutral restroom, place was very clean. Inside was small. It had 10 tables and nice couches with cozy, inspirational decor and pillows. Lovely music playing over head with a nice patio seating. Will I return? Yes, but not anytime soon! Also check for their business hours..

Will definitely be back to try more of their bar bites, if not just for that flatbread and beers!

Dine LA Restaurant Week brought me in!…read more From the Dine LA dinner menu we ordered: wedge salad, and they were kind enough to substitute Gorgonzola instead of Kona for my dry aged NY strip. We also tried some additional appetizers: lobster and crab cakes and double cut smoked bacon. Both delicious. For beverages we tried: the doli, blackberry bourbon sidecar, and capital cosmopolitan. We also tried a glass of wine: DeLille Cellars, Chaleur Blanc. Every drink was amazing. Our server Halina took good care of us along with all of the staff there!

We came for the DineLA experience at $25.00 for lunch which was a terrific value. I've passed by…read morethis place probably 100 times but never ventured in. I was impressed with the upscale décor and overall "Men's Grill" steakhouse vibe. The food was generally good but nothing exceptional. We started off with the Caesar salad and the Boston clam chowder. Both were good but, again, nothing exceptional. We then ordered the steak frites and the seared salmon. The steak was perfectly cooked and came with the "stubs" of several russet potatoes. I guess we got the short end of the stick there. There was a really nice herbed mayonnaise sauce that came with the fries and another very good (pistachio?) sauce for the steak. My wife's salmon was decent and came with some broccolini and couscous. But neither dish entered the "fabulous" category. It was my birthday and we were presented with a lovely and very generous dessert of a fudge lava cake and crème Brule. Nice touch! The service was rather lackluster in that our waiter made several gaffs: he forgot about our drink order. He didn't offer fresh cracked pepper for the salad as he did for the table next to us. And he took away my plate before my wife was finished with her course. For a fine dining restaurant removing plates prematurely should never be done unless requested by the customer. But overall, for the price, this was an excellent value!

We went to The Smoke House for Sunday brunch on August 23, and we had such a wonderful experience!…read moreThe food was absolutely delicious, the service was phenomenal, and one of the things that really stood out to me was how well the staff worked together. You could see the teamwork between the servers and support staff throughout the restaurant. Everyone we interacted with was polite, friendly, attentive, and professional, even though the restaurant was incredibly busy. I also wanted to give special recognition to a manager/supervisor working during brunch. I unfortunately didn't catch his name, but he was wearing a flat/newsboy-style cap, so hopefully the restaurant knows who I'm referring to. We happened to witness him dealing with a particularly demanding guest who was extremely unhappy with where his party for three had been seated. The guest repeatedly complained about having made a reservation and wanting to sit in a different, quieter section, and became increasingly loud and upset with the manager. What impressed us was how incredibly calm, patient, and professional the manager remained throughout the entire interaction. He never became defensive or matched the guest's tone. He simply continued trying to resolve the situation and de-escalate it while keeping things comfortable for everyone around them. The restaurant was PACKED for Sunday brunch, including a full waiting area, and many of us had reservations.. our party included. There are only so many tables and sections available in a busy restaurant, and a reservation can't always guarantee one particular table or area. I thought this manager handled a very difficult situation exceptionally well and deserved recognition for it. I know how difficult it can be to maintain that level of composure when someone is directing their frustration at you. He handled himself beautifully. Wonderful food, wonderful service, great teamwork, and a staff that clearly knows how to take care of its guests. We had a fantastic brunch and will absolutely be back!

The servers brought out water dishes and treats on a silver tray for the dogs- true service! I missed happy hour, but tried a themed cocktail, the onion rings, and the truffle burger. It was all great! My friends and I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food and our server was great. It seemed like a lot of regulars were there, which helped contribute to the overall good vibes. That says a lot about the staff. Our server, she was a young lady, was on top of everything and really made our time here enjoyable. I came here for happy hour on a Tuesday was surprised to find out they do $2 tacos and $5 margaritas. Let me tell you, the tacos are delicious and the margaritas are STRONG. It's a hell of a good time. I really enjoyed the chicken taco and carne asada taco. The meats were juicy and very flavorful. I also ordered their nachos, chili cheese fries and bread pudding. The nachos were made perfectly with the chips being thin and crispy. They used a couple different cheeses and the jalapeños were a nice touch. Definitely ordering it again, I can do without the chili cheese fries. It was good but it wasn't amazing. Their bread pudding was HUGE and I can see why it's one of the popular items here. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft and gooey in the inside. Morrisons is definitely a fun place to be. Perfect to enjoy happy hour, catch the games on, and hang out friends. They have plenty of seating inside and outdoor with heat lamps. They are dog and kid friendly as well
