A Classic American Diner Experience!!! I remember going to Bob's Big Boy as a kid in San Diego. I always loved it, so when we took a trip to Burbank on New Years Day and I found out there was still a Bob's Big Boy around...I jumped at the chance! Arrived on new years day around 9am. The restaurant was not too busy. There was a lot of people but we were seated immediately. The restaurant has been around since the early 50's and inside of the restaurant still has that feel. Old look, but still looks like the are doing their best to keep it looking nice. The staff was super friendly and our meals came out hot and fast! We loved everything we had! My go-top is always Country Fried Steak, and this one did not disappoint. There is a little gift shop at the front counter that has some cool nostalgic items. Overall, this place is great. I don't know why my review got deleted from like... 4 months ago. This was what happened. Was out with a friend. Ordered a burger. Saw the manager on duty crush a giant cockroach by stepping on it the kicking it under a table. I have been going here since I was 3 years old. It was busy that night. I could hear him crush the roach. There is an infestation. If you see roaches out on the floor, there IS AN INFESTATION. They need to remedy that. read more

We had a great experience on Friday night. It was the Classic Car Night and there were a lot of beautiful cars and great people to mingle with. The restaurant was busy but the staff members are amazing. They helped us get a seat due to a disability and continued the wonderful service throughout our whole time there. The Food was delicious and they checked in with us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. BTW.... The ice for their drink is the best ever!!! It was a great night! While heading home from Anaheim yesterday, my husband really wanted to check out Bob's Big Boy for lunch. We arrived around 11:30am and the place was pretty busy, but we only waited about 6 minutes for a table. The inside has that old school diner feel with lots of booth seating on both ends of the restaurant. There were lots of photos on the walls of Bob's history and photos of celebrity regulars which I always enjoy looking at whenever restaurants have them hanging up. I can tell that Bob's has a lot of local regulars that give it that nice homey feeling. We ordered the Steak and Eggs, Super Big Boy with Chili Cheese Fries, Chili Spaghetti and a Kids Hamburger. The food was very fresh - the burger and spaghetti both came with side salad. My only critique was that the burger and spaghetti did lack a bit in salt, but that was easily fixable. The steak was seasoned and cooked well and the Cherry Cokes were to die for (we even took one to go). Overall, this place is very iconic and I love to support and respect places that have been around for a long time regardless of how amazing their food is. Ella was our server and she was friendly. The food for early dinner was just what we needed after a light lunch. The side dinner salad that comes with the burger combos are pretty big. They were also very fresh. The Cobb Salad was large and filled with fresh ingredients. All the burgers we ordered were very good. They were cooked to medium as ordered but I forgot to take a pic of how juicy the medium cooked Blue Cheese Burger was. My son's kids cheeseburger was yummy and came with a lot of fries. I did try the relish not a fan. The wait wasn't bad, but our booth was dirty. I like the oldies feel but the seats were starting to be damaged. This was my third visit to Bob's, although food was delicious and made to our liking and coffee was fresh and served hot, service was far less than acceptable. We set at our table for about 15 minutes with out receiving any attention from our server. A legend of Burbank! Went here on a Sunday for brunch. While the place was hopping the team working made the wait minimal. We were a party of 5 and were told 20 mins to wait but were seated in probably 5 minutes. Despite it being busy, we weren't rushed to order or to leave. Our waitress was fantastic and attentive. I had the pancakes - they are always delicious here as well as a side of eggs with bacon - can you see how crispy the bacon is, pure perfection. The rest of the table sampled a breakfast burritos, steak and eggs, gravy and biscuits and waffle. We all left full and happy! This place has been on my list for quite some time. I've been to a Big Boy before. But, not for years. And this location has so much history. Plus, it's open late! We stopped by around 12:30am on a Saturday. We were seated quickly. Oh, the nostalgia. The inside is just what you would expect. big comfy booths and that old school diner feel with fair prices to boot. I got the chili spaghetti and the hubs got a bacon cheeseburger. We both enjoyed our meals. Only minor complaint I had was that I didn't ask for the dressing for my salad on the side and the lettuce was swimming in it. So my wife and I ended up coming here cause we wanted a milkshake and it turned into a patty melt date we sat at the bar area and tell us why there was this elderly lady working oh boy she had the biggest attitude it seem everybody was running around the milkshake was not very good at all we ordered banana and chocolate I tasted more chocolate and like barely any banana very underwhelming and the patty melt we both ordered one my wife got it with sourdough and it's a really good deal for 14.99 comes with fries and a large salad I didn't want the salad I just ate the croutons it's like a diner salad nothing special this patty melt was really amazing tho I got it medium super juicy and the grilled onions added a nice flavor and the two cheeses give it a gooey flavor bomb the ranch is very watery and it's perfect every bite spoon some ranch on it. The ambiance feels like a diner but it's really crowded we came on a Saturday it feels like regulars come there and it gives you a homey feel. This is the regular location just thought they car hop on Saturday's from 5-10 pm.i give it 3 stars cause if you don't like thick burger on your melt this isn't for you it could use a little less meat it's like a lot just depends on what you looking for. read more

me and my partner came before to this location having a wonderful experience and we're eager to come again however, this time around the service was unbelievable horrible and I couldn't imagine ever giving my money to this establishment. Not only were we given no attention to leading to another group of two being sat before us but when we were finally given an ounce of service, we were told it would be a wait when this all could've been avoided if we were accurately welcomed. The servers took extensive amounts of time to help us and when we're being served, we were treated like nuisances. It's been a MINUTE since I've been here! Bob's Big Boy in Burbank. It was cool driving up and seeing the parking for the carhops . Glad the kept the parking lot the same. A little nostalgia for a Sunday breakfast. It's hard to find a good diner. Glad this one is still here. Anyway the wait was only 10 minutes and the booth was clean and the waitress was quick and get us some coffee! She took our order and as busy as it was it came promptly. I always mention the attitude of the servers and hostesses and a Smile goes a long way. I was glad to be here and the staff seemed happy as well. Food came the plate wasn't hot but food was good. The potatoes were not as crispy as I would've imaged home fries being, still good. The bacon and eggs were good and the overall experience was a thumbs up. The walls were adorned with pictures of days gone by , old newspaper clippings and that "American Graffiti " vibe. They also have mech. As an LA native, I have come to Bob's a couple times growing up. I recently went and the experience was meh. The food had no flavor. I got a veggie burger combo and it was subpar. The burger and fries had no seasoning, couldn't even taste any salt and pepper. The salad was like a hospital stay salad, super watery and I could make one better homemade. In addition the location felt like a sanitary hazard. Carpet flooring and everything was outdated, I think the business could keep some parts of the restaurant as a relic but the rest of the restaurant needs to be updated, I just felt like taking a shower after eating here. I have gone to this place for the past 25 years, and I've always loved it. However, when I was there two weeks ago, a cockroach visited my table. It was really discerning. It climbed out between the wall and the trim at my table. It quickly disappeared. The restaurant was full of people because it was a Friday night and the car show was happening. What concerns me the most, is that this cockroach was not scared to appear in such a crowded restaurant. That leads me to believe that there may be an infestation in that place. read more

This was our first time here! We came with a group of 6 on Monday night and waited under 5 minutes. I love the decor of the booths, felt like home at a neighborhood diner. Gabe was our server, friendly and efficient! I ordered the onion rings to share. They were perfectly crispy and delicious. It was the full order and it was huge for just our group. I ordered the strawberry chicken salad and split it with my mother in law. The strawberries were so good! My husband ordered the club sandwich and everyone else had burgers. The staff were all friendly and we didn't wait too long to be seated. My friends and I got coffees and water, very normal diner coffee. The burger and fries were good and the salad too. Good service and great American style food, the interior gives a nostalgic 50's vibe. All the severs were attentive and friendly.

My parents used to take me to this exact location all the time when I was a kid, and I still get just as excited coming back. The Chicken Breast Sandwich was a little lackluster this time around. It was pretty dry, which isn't usually the case, but it was still tasty overall. My favorite part is Bob's Famous Hot Fudge Cake. The kitchen needs dire help. This place really messes up every time I've come. Some of the food is disgusting. I try to play it safe with a burger. Today we ordered to go. I got a burger bun that was folded and soggy. And they charged me for onion rings but gave me fries. I called and got a refund for that up charge. But this place needs serious help. Pay your employees more, get new staff/cooks, or retrain with diligence. Get new suppliers. This place needs a serious overhaul.
