    Breakfast sandwich with ham..
    Kevin I.

First and foremost this place is so iconic to our So Cal culture.. The building itself with everything inside of it is fairly intact from when it was built @1949. It's an old skool diner that's open late and offers delicious meals... (Diner items) I ordered breakfast this morning .. A breakfast sandwich with a side of hash browns.. It was nothing extraordinary... However it was cooked to perfection, served piping hot and tasted like something I would have made at home.. I was solo and sat the counter, the server was very attentive and friendly! I feel the service at establishments are as equally as important as the items they serve!

Iconic!!! Came here after a full moon hike and it was sooooo good. Honestly this is an institution so I don't need to review this but I want to share my pics. Delicious diner food lol. That's it. I'd be back!!

    Classic car show cars everywhere

3/4/26 So me and my dad met with an old co worker of ours to have lunch and catch up. When we arrived was pretty busy but not bad about 5-8min wait really was pretty quick to seated. Jana was our server and she was great. We ordered our food and I got the "Super Big Boy" combo. We all basically got Big boy combos. I hadn't had Bob's in quite a while. It was pretty good. I remember it being a little better the last time I had had but it didn't disappoint. It was still delicious and good fries. Got a Mocha shake that was really nice and creamy and great mocha flavor. All in all we really enjoyed our food and company. I'm sure I will visit again sometime when back down this way . We used to come almost Friday night for classic car show they had in the lot and get burgers and see all the cars hence the pic from back in the day. I think they still do the car show. Enjoy !!!!

Loved it. havent eaten here in years and finally had the chance to eat here again. Our waitress was very nice and was great. Also love the class diner feel. wish i could eat here more often but i live out of state

My 1st pastrami burger & what it's SUPPOSED to look like. The 2nd time, pastrami was lacking & there was barely any mozzarella.

Well, Bob's has outdone itself yet again! I just can't get over the fast & friendly service & the FOOD is so yummy...SO good, in fact, that I returned a mere two days after my last visit to reorder the pastrami burger (which is actually enough for two people) & the chocolate milkshake...complete with whipped cream & a cherry on top, of course! And during my last visit, I got to check out the weekly classic car show! My only complaint for the second time I ordered the pastrami burger is that there definitely wasn't the 3 oz. of pastrami as the menu describes & there was barely any mozzarella cheese...not even a full slice. Yes, the restaurant was busy but the food preparation should be consistent.

Always nostalgic and fun- outdoor pet friendly seating- good sized counter seating inside - large free parking lot- can't go wrong with the fried chicken, burgers or the shakes. Friendly servers. Accommodated grandson's birthday dinner and were fine with us bringing our own cake to celebrate. Kids enjoyed looking at all the fun merchandise some collectors items some for sale.

Though I've lived in Los Angeles nearly 40 years, I've only been to Bob's a handful of times. After quite a few years, today was one of those times, and I'm really glad I decided to grab lunch at this legendary foodie fixture in Burbank. You can't beat the atmosphere; that mid-century modern design, the orange decor, the counter service and plush booths, all lovingly kept clean and shiny. The staff is uniformly friendly, and they work fast. Orders are taken quickly and the food arrives in little more than 5 minutes. These folks have been doing this a very long time, and their experience is our good fortune. I ordered the Original Big Boy Combo, because how could I not? The combo includes their Original Big Boy Burger, fries or fruit, and a salad to start. I declined the salad, as it's a very good sized portion and I knew I wasn't hungry enough to eat it all. But the folks next to me were enjoying their salads quite a bit, and they really did look very fresh and good. The namesake Big Boy is that double-stacked burger on a 3-piece bun that predates the Big Mac, and outpaces McDonald's pale imposter by leaps and bounds. Two fresh beef patties are paired with American cheese, lettuce, a touch of mayo and a nice slather of Bob's red burger relish, which adds a nice tang without having that overpowering flavor of cheap pickles. Additionally, that relish combines nicely with the mayo to create a whisper of the Thousand Island Dressing taste without the overly thick consistency of the now very ubiquitous "burger sauce" that's everywhere. This is a good, hearty burger that really satisfies, while the fries came hot, nicely salted and appropriately crisp. Now let's talk prices. This combo, which is a very generous portion of food (especially if you also eat the included salad), with a soda and tax came out to about $19.49. Around $5 more than the Big Mac combo at McDonald's -- but a far superior meal, with fresh flavors, good quality ingredients, a relaxing environment, and a friendly staff. This is a great value: filling, tasty, and happy-making. If you haven't been -- or haven't been in a while, like me -- stop in soon and enjoy.

I really like this place. It's an old school feeling attraction almost out of a movie. Ironically very close to universal studios hollywood. Workers are so nice and the vibes are great. Good tasted very quality for a diner. I got the old fashioned steak and eggs and it did not disappoint. You can go for a family breakfast all the way to a causal business breakfast. On to lunch and dinner here soon...

The best Patty melt and the best milkshake I've ever had. I mean, it's gotta be, it's an iconic diner! Service was quick. There was a wait, but we opted for the first-come, first-served bar area. The ambiance was abdundaunt. Packed on a Saturday at 5 pm, fun, loud, and nostalgic.

BOB'S BIG BOY IS STILL BIG ======================= Another oldie, but goodie diner is still going strong. Our good friends invited us to meet them for dinner on Sunday, November 16, 2025. My husband and I had not been to Bob's Big Boy in ages, so it was nice to go there again. The Yelper that I am decided to peruse all the Yelp reviews, photos and menu. The photos and a lot of the reviews really don't do it justice, but I do recommend looking at them. Some Yelp friends have written some great reviews and have included photos and I always appreciate that. After looking at the menu and the evening being a bit rainy and cool I definitely wanted to order something warm. I decided to order the open face turkey sandwich. It came with a crisp side dinner salad and that was very good. I was really happy with the turkey as well and requested all white meat which I got. The mashed potatoes, gravy and beets were delicious as well. My husband loved their chicken fried steak, so that was good. If he doesn't like the food he will never go back. Luckily we can go back again. One of our friends ordered the veggie melt and her husband ordered their famous double decker burger. They go there quite often, so they have ordered those before and they like them. We were all pretty stuffed after eating dinner, but my husband ordered the hot fudge chocolate sundae. I didn't try that, but it looked good. Our friend ordered the Bob's famous hot fudge cake. I took a bite and that was good. Watch out for your clothes with that one. The next time I would like to go on a Friday night to check out the cars.

    Still the same!

This place is not around on the East Coast anymore( they closed them), or so I've not seen one since I was a kid! Walking into this place was nostalgic! The menu still has the square chocolate cake with the vanilla ice cream in the middle! My spaghetti was still the same as I can remember, so good! The waitress was a bit busy; however, she stayed the course in making sure our food order was placed and came out on time without delay. It's old pictures hanging and just feels like the 70s, lol. Please stay open! I will be back!

This is a diner and it looks fantastic after all of these years they keep the same menu and provide consistently good food with great service. Breakfast is what they do best but any meal is good. They host some car shows from time to time and have great weekly specials so be sure to check that out.

After an unsuccessful evening trying to find dinner for a party of four on a Saturday night without reservations, Bob's Big Boy came through for us. Despite being very busy, we only waited about 10-15 minutes to get seated, which honestly felt like a win. Inside, you get classic old-school diner vibes, which adds to the charm. Every employee we interacted with was friendly and welcoming, especially our waitress, who was awesome and helped make the experience a positive one. We ordered the sirloin, chili spaghetti, and a club sandwich. Everything was good--solid and satisfying--but not anything I'd call amazing or standout. That said, the overall experience made up for it. Where Bob's Big Boy shines is value. Many entrées come with a salad and an additional side, which felt like a great deal. Considering this is Southern California, I was expecting to pay much more for what we got, but the pricing was fair. Overall, this is a high-value, reliable option with great service, especially when you need a place that can accommodate you without reservations. I'd definitely come back.

    Fried Chicken, baby.

Bob’s Big Boy Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Bob’s Big Boy

Does the waiters/waitresses have tip pooling or tip sharing (ie the tips gets placed into a big pot and the total is divided amongst the staff)?

As far as I know, we have to add tips on our bills if we like to.

Does the Burbank location have a breakfast buffet?

No buffet, but they serve breakfast all day!

    Are there any vegan options?

It's Bob's Big Boy Hamburger. When in Rome you don't order Chinese. There are plenty of vegan places here in LA and Orange County. Bob's does what they do, and they do it well. If you're a herbivore, I would not go to Bob's.

Do they serve beer or wine?

    No.

    Open on thanksgiving?

You should check their website and/or call them directly. Businesses do not check the Yelp pages for their place.

Is their full menu available at all times? In other words, can I get a burger for breakfast?

Yes for sure! Entire menu always available.

I tried to order through the website but I got an error message. It not working?

I don't think that service is available anymore.

Do they take reservations for bdays?

I would actually call the restaurant and inquire.

Do they still have outdoor dining?

    Yes, on their front patio.

Does Bob Big Boy Offer Military Discount?

Is Friday classic car night back?

    Yes!!

Does anyone know if this is open yet for dine in?

    Yes

Does anyone know if Bob's Big Boy has opened dining room yet?

Yes they have! I went there earlier this week. They seat you at every other table for social distancing. When we ent is was a weekday so there was no line. I suspect weekends might have a line to get in.

Do they have gluten free bun options for their sandwiches or burgers?

well my dad got one with lettuce, lol

Do they serve breakfast all day?

Yes they do, and it's delicious!!

    Do they deliver?

    Nope.

I was excited to try Republik Coffee, but unfortunately the experience missed the mark…read more I ordered an iced vanilla matcha, a salted cold brew cloud, and banana bread. The first issue came when my matcha was made hot instead of iced and had to be remade. Even after the remake, it tasted like straight matcha powder and wasn't well mixed. The banana bread was served cold and wasn't warmed up, which was disappointing. What stood out most, though, was the cleanliness. As I walked into the shop around 7:30 a.m., the outdoor trash area was already overflowing. Inside, there was a trash can right next to the pickup counter that smelled bad and had visible stains all over it. For being so early in the morning, I was surprised that the trash hadn't been emptied or the area cleaned before opening. The salted cold brew cloud was decent, but overall the drinks, food, and cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Hoping this was just an off morning, but based on this visit, I wouldn't rush back.

I had passed by this restaurant before but had never been curious enough to actually stop in. This time their drink menu advertised outside caught my attention so I figured "hey, why not?" From the moment I walked in i was trying to figure out whether I liked the atmosphere or not. The music was excellent, but the décor took me a second to process. It felt like an 80s lounge crashed into a neon Día de los Muertos inspired art gallery. It's most definitely not a quiet, cozy restaurant. It has more of a loud, colorful, party style personality. I was seated promptly by a kind hostess but I wasn't attended to by a waiter for nearly 10 minutes. Once my waiter did come by he was kind, quick, and professional. Now, I'm going to be honest.. I'm pretty picky when it comes to Mexican restaurant food, so I didn't have the highest expectations. I ordered the potato taquitos, a Jarrito Loco made with watermelon purée, vodka instead of tequila, and chamoy on the rim, plus chiles toreados and one carne asada taco. Laugh all you want, but I was half expecting the food to come out looking like a cafeteria lady had splattered it onto a plate... I was genuinely impressed by the presentation instead. The potato "taquitos" were bigger than I expected so don't let the "itos" fool you. They were crispy, flavorful, filling, and honestly so delicious. Those get a 5/5 from me. My drink was also incredible. It was refreshing, especially with how hot the day was, and had just the right amount of alcohol. The presentation was so cute I almost felt bad ruining it. Easily one of the best drinks I've had in the Burbank area -- 5/5. The carne asada taco wasn't as impressive as the potato taquitos, so I'd give that a 3/5. The chile toreado was definitely spicy, it just needed to be salted a little more but otherwise no complaints! I need to remind myself not to be too quick to judge because I was genuinely surprised by this place. The décor wasn't fully my personal style, but the food and drinks more than made up for it. I'd definitely come back again, especially for the potato taquitos and drinks.

My wife ordered a Gummy Bear Shot that was tart and sweet and very enjoyable. On the food side, the menu is filled with the greatest hits of casual, sports bar foods, but all kicked up several notches and more interesting than the usual. My wife ordered the Truffle Burger, replete with onions and mushrooms and cheese. The trappings were all very tasty, and the burger itself was packed with flavor, and came cooked to a very proper medium rare. The side of lemon-pepper fries were hand cut and crispy, though the citrusy tang wasn't my thing. A tad less successful was my Pastrami Sandwich. The meat, listed as house-made, had good flavor but was tough. The kale slaw with it also had good flavor, and the slight bitterness was a nice foil for the rich pastrami. Onion rings were excellent, and (regardless of the lemon-pepper) the better bet as a side. All in all, this is a great, comfy place with good menu and a really welcoming staff. We arrived there at 11:15am and the out me in the waitlist, I wait for 1hr and I never receive the notification on my phone that my table was ready so I want to ask what was going on, the guy tolde oh you missed your table, and I said how come if I haven't got any notifications on my phone? He said show me your phone and I did and he did apologize and said give me few minutes I will give you the next table, does few minutes turn into another 39min. At this point I was already frustrated from all the wait but I remained calmed. Finally after almost 2hr we got our table, we order our food. My daughter order the French toast with fresh strawberry's, on the menu has the option with strawberry sauce or Fresh strawberry's and we specifically asked for Fresh strawberry's. I order chilaquiles and my husband also chilaquiles and my sun order pancakes. The food arrived after almost 1hr wait, we were starving after all the wait and the order of the French toast was wrong they send it with strawberry sauce instead of fresh strawberry's and we let our waiter know and he did offer to change it or just bring the fresh strawberry's on the side and my daughter said she was starving and didn't want to wait for another order so just said she just wanted the strawberry's on the side, he did bring the strawberries. And everything will be fine even do we didn't like the food, but when we got the check they charge $6 for the side of strawberries, I wouldn't mind if it was our mistake. I know $6 it's not a lot, it's just the principle that they supposed to correct their mistake. We didn't ask them to remove the charge we just paid and we still leave a good tip because we al way like to tip good. But honestly I wouldn't recommend this place. And we are never going back.
