Fried Enoki Mushroom Bao
Jen-Ann L.

Tried the fried enoki mushroom bao here and it was pretty good! The mushroom was fried perfectly and there was a good ratio of sauce to protein to bun. For $10, this was a decent light lunch. My friend ordered a Vietnamese Coffee with Boba and some chicken egg rolls, they also looked good. If anything I would say the prices are a bit steep for a food truck and for the quantity of food, but the quality was quite good. They seem very popular at the Capitol Mall Farmers Market on Wednesdays. The staff were polite and worked hard to move through the lines. As for ambiance, it's a food truck. Other than their cute fonts and nice photos of the menu on the side, can't ask for much else! Oh, and they have a pop up canopy for people to queue and wait under.

Tried their POG drink with lychee jelly at the Elk Grove Aloha festival. It was a tad sweeter than I'd like, but was otherwise refreshing for the warm weather!

damn sorry mane. really wanted to support the small businesses out there but i honestly didn't enjoy the vietnamese coffee w boba. paid 8 big doolers for it. i tried to like it but it just lacked that creamy sensation. also it was just way too bitter tbh. sorry man. the bro who took my order was very chill though

While there were only 2 people working in Boba and Bites, the line moved fast and efficiently. The menu has a variety of options if you're looking for a full meal or a quick snack. The staff was super friendly and quick in getting your order ready. The pork shumai and chicken egg rolls were great. The shumai came with a spicy chili oil which complemented the food well. The egg rolls were also good, but I do wish I would have gotten more of the sweet chili sauce. Although it was super windy in Sacramento, the strawberry fizzy drink was cool and refreshing.

Great job Boba & Bites. Caught up with this food truck at a craft and food event in Elk Grove. The staff at the window helped us decide on the fizzy boba drink - strawberry and we ordered pork shumai/ dumplings. Super easy to order and loved their handheld buzzers to let you know the order was ready. The drink was a bit pricey but maybe we can reuse the cup. The dumplings were tasty and filling- great price!

well gosh dang it, i'm kicking myself in the butt for not finding boba & bites sooner. we ended up giving them a try at the historic folsom farmer's market, and i'm so glad we did. BIG dumpling fan over here, so i was immediately drawn to the cute logo on the food truck. we came a little bit later so some of the drinks were sold out *womp womp for us*. we ordered the pork shumai and my taste buds were immediately transported to flavor town. the chili oil is an absolute must -- tastes so good with the shumai. overall 10/10 and can't wait to try more of their menu!

I just had the BEST Shumai I have ever had in my life at Boba & Bites!!! I am not exaggerating. ***Yelp should reserve a special 6th star for places like this*** They offer 6 Pork Shumai Dumplings for $10. The dough is just the right consistency, not too thick and not too thin, and they get a perfect sear on the bottom. The filling is delicious and seasoned to perfection. They also add a bit of green herbs and a crunchy garnish to top it off which adds amazing taste and texture. I'm certain my eyes rolled back in my head with each bite. This is the kind of food that floods your system with dopamine and literally makes any day the best day ever. The flavor, the texture, the temperature, the little glaze of sauce...everything about these shumai is perfection. You don't even need the chili sauce or lemon they give you. They deserve their own Michelin star! The customer service here is also excellent. The employee who served me was super friendly, warm and welcoming. They also have other dumplings, egg rolls and unique and flavorful bao sandwiches on offer and you can get fruit and milk teas with boba as well as Vietnamese coffee. I was really blown away by their food and their service and I can't wait to visit them again.

Filet-o-fish bao bun with no cheese and I asked for pickles. The warm and crispy lumpia and juicy pork shumai dumpling!

Today is Peach Fest, and they had some new Peach-themed items on the menu! We only tried the Peach Fizz, and I keep saying this, but new favorite drink!! Cold, peachy deliciousness with fizzy bubbles is a must on a hot day like today, and the crowning glory are the popping boba! I would consider buying this every time we stop by Boba & Bites!

04.17.22 at Mahany Park Farmers Market

Mahany Park Farmers Market [Roseville CA] Boba & Bites is one of the regular pop up restaurants at the farmers market every Sunday at the Mahany Park. I finally had a chance to try their Pork Shumai which the vendor next door (Robert's Pizza Oven) raves about because his son loves it. The pork shumai comes in six large steamed pork dumplings topped with crunchy fried garlic, green onions and a slice of lemon. My food was prepared fast. I sat in the car and tore those yummy dumplings up LoL! They were delicious and full of flavor. Filled me up nicely! Sooo good! I'll be back next week because I've not yet tried their boba drinks. Friendly owners too! You will not be disappointed. Next time I'm getting two orders (one for the hubby). I know what you're thinking... "suuure" Instagram: @boba.and.bites Review #2565

They quickly ran out of the milk boba drinks by the time I decided to eat. The spicy fried chicken sandwich was amazing . Amazing fast service even though there was a big queue and lots of people ordering food, this was at the downtown Folsom during the street fair.

If it's possible to give a restaurant more than 5 stars, I would. Everything was fantastic, from…read morethe service, to the coziness of this restaurant. I wish I took pictures of the interior, as it felt so intimate and the seats were comfortable. The food of course, are the stars of the show, and I've never been blown away from how good everything was. The Pad See Ew had a yummy smoky, wok hei flavor that not a lot of places incorporate. The ribeye is cooked perfectly, green curry has a nice coconut sweetness to it. And the laotian sausage, paired with their sauce and sticky rice hits the spot. This place was indeed comforting and my only regret is not trying more items. If you're craving southeast asian cuisine in an intimate atmosphere, I can't recommend this place enough.

The location was a bit odd, as there were barely any other businesses nearby. There is street parking that you can pay for. It's a fairly small restaurant. We were were seated pretty quickly. Service was very friendly. I would say that portions were pretty reasonable. Things we ordered: -Pineapple fried rice: Very fragrant with the char and flavorful. Seasoned very well. We opted for mild spice on this. I would order this again. -Chicken pad thai: Done very well! Some places the pad thai is too sweet, but this one was very balanced and had a good tamarind flavor. Medium spicy was a bit on the spicy side, but perfect for me! Would order this again. -Duck larb: Unique, but I couldn't tell it was duck. My partner enjoyed this more than I did. The portion for the larb was on the smaller side and it came with some lettuce, radish, carrots, cucumbers. -Mee kati ground pork: A very unique dish that not many Thai restaurants seem to have, in which it came with noodles, and a variety of toppings like beans sprouts, lettuce, green beans, peanuts, and cilantro. It came with a fermented curry gravy, and it delicious! I would totally order this again. -Green Thai tea: Quite fragrant and not too full on half and half like some other places have it. It's also not as sweet as another local Thai restaurant. I would actually order this again. -Classic Thai tea: Strong Thai tea flavor, also not too sweet. Overall, Hiso was a great Thai/Lao restaurant and I would totally come back and recommend this place!

I came in on a Monday around 11:40 am, was seated right away since I was the first customer, and my food came out in less than 10 minutes. The ambiance was simple with some greenery. The waitress was tentative and so kind. I believe her and the nice gentleman are the owners, I could be wrong. I ordered the sushi tacos - unagi, ebi, and sake. It was a major flavor explosion in my mouth and I can't wait to go back!! Thanks to TikTok, I had to try this. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!! Yes, today was our first. I'm a sucker for excellent customer service and Cafe Burma and Mikayla had me at HELLO. LOL NOTE: I DIDN'T DO ANY PRE- REVIEW UPON ARRIVING. The husband wanted a Monday Date night and who am I to say No. What we had: *Planta with Chicken Coconut Dip. This planta is a crossover of naan with Mochi like middle with the prefect crisp served with an amazing Chicken sauce. Yah...will be having this again. Hubby had most of it because I was saving my appetite for what's to come. *TeaLead Salad - Yes its a MUST. The fried seasoned garlic is the secret to why this salad hits the palate in the most perfect way. The dressing is oil based which wasn't over powering or even greasy. The peanut was tastefully done. Yes - I ate most of it. Fresh ingredients in every bite. *Chili Basil Beef - at first glance, it looked like Mongolian Beef but far from the taste. The cumin, ginger and chili flakes gave this dish the wow factor. Mind you, I dislike ginger pieces and didn't come across one piece so they must have used ginger powder which I appreciate. We all know the benefits of ginger and I feel like I got a dose of it without biting into one. *PadThai - we were warned that the Burmese way come with a hint of sweetness and this was definitely true but notoverpowering. Husband enjoyed it, me not so much. The dishes came with extra large prawns. You can tell the prawns we're seasoned first hand before getting tossed into the mix. DRINKS: Husband had the coconut monsoon (rum with coconut flakes and I had Bite Dog HAZY IPA - yum. Prime location - corner of 16th street and J, street parking. Restaurant was clean and with a bar and open kitchen concept. What I would have liked: I wish the aesthetic of the restaurant showcased the culture. Wish the dishes were served in a more traditional serving plates. My eyes eat first so I would have appreciated the extra touch but the TASTE definitely made up for it. Will definitely be back! Need to try a dessert next time. Thanks for having us Chef Burma.
