Found this place through Yelp, on my way going back to Fresno and I was pretty disappointed. First of all, when my GF and I came in there were a couple workers that I guess were off at the time, and were complaining about some type of scheduling conflict with the workers behind the counter that were making the drinks while we were waiting in line. Kind of rude, but nonetheless, the manager, or the self proclaimed, "King Of Boba" as he calls himself, finally took care of them, and took our order. I thought this place would be really good. The inside was really nice, clean and had a laid back atmosphere. PLENTY of options and flavors to choose from as well. I decided to keep it safe, and try a Watermelon slush with boba. For two drinks, it came out to about $9 with a small credit card fee. When I got the drink, it looked as advertised in their pics. But the second I tasted the boba itself, I wanted to throw up. It was soft, undercooked and tasted like balls of water. And plenty of it seemed like it has been in their cooler for a week. The slush itself was OK, and tasted fresh, but even that couldn't save this lame place for boba. My advice... skip the boba and just get the jelly. read more

Meh. Boba in the super touristy white part of town. Super super sugary, extremely bland flavors, you can practically taste milk powder, and the boba is small and inconsistent. It's really a 1-star boba place, but the only reason that it's 2 is cause the cookies are pretty good. 50c for a chunky chocolate chip cookie, yeah I'm down for that. I'd get boba elsewhere if I could. Jasmin Milk Tea: It was like drinking green tea. The milk didnt even have flavor. Green Tea Frappe: I just tasted sugar and ice. It wasn't thick or creamy at all. I've been going here since I was middle school and I'm 21 now. Miguel is one of the employees here. He has been there since I was little and he is always so nice! Always great energy and most of all amazing boba! :] I love the slush boba drinks so yummy. One thing great is they're open late on the weekends. Nothing in Burbank stays open late except the movie theatre so it's nice to get a late night treat :] I've brought the newbies who have never tried boba and they live it. The boba here was awesome! My girlfriend got a Tarro and I got a mango boba. She loved it. To me tarro tastes a bit like a light chocolate. It was very good! I of course had the mango boba. Extremely kind staff! Much better than the location in LA (off of Vermont). I always get the honeydew and it's always perfect! Rd. in Burbank, what a beautiful, warm sunny Sunday. I slipped into this storefront, in the mood for taro. The friendly staff here understood what type of drink I was looking for. I ordered a taro slushie, with boba. Immediately it cooled me off and I was in a great relaxed mood for the family barbeque. One thing I noticed was that the computer was out of order. The armchairs here are a little on the dirty side. I don't know if I would want to sit there as who knows when the last time it was washed. They have barstools available and those do look cleaner. It's a great place to hang out or get some work done with their free WiFi. I did not check what the speed was, but even if it's not as fast as you'd like, you are in the middle of Burbank. Your cellular data should be plenty good enough. They do have a lot of choices to choose from. The prices are a little high IMO, but then again, it's Burbank. I think their service is pretty avg. We had a party of 8, so it took about 10 or so minutes for our order to be complete. They have different prices for cash and card. So if you want to save a bit, pay with cash. Stopped by for boba today. I have a pretty long commute home, so since I was making a stop, thought having boba might help make my Friday drive better. There was about 5-6 people already at the shop, mostly teenagers, so thought maybe because there were customers, the boba would be good. Worked my way down the milk tea list and decided on ordering a large Honeydew Milk Tea (I usually alternate between taro and honeydew if there aren't any additional tea flavors I like). Immediately noticed how all the prices on the wood menu boards were covered in white hand written pieces of paper that are taped on. Luckily, I had cash or I'd have to pay an extra $0.30. Nearly $6 for a boba is pretty expensive. I paid and stepped aside from the counter to wait for my drink. As I stood there, I peeped labeled drink dispensers behind the counter and saw taro and honeydew flavors. Almost instantaneously, my drink order was ready and realized their drinks are not made to order. For $5.50, I would expect my drink to be crafted like most all boba places do. The decor of the shop is pretty dated with old posters. There are a few high tables and a counter to sit at. There is a dingy couch and a dirty glass coffee table, which appears to recreate a cafe feel. I don't think I could sit and relax on it, just wouldn't feel comfortable. I also laughed at the pretzel display next to the counter because it's lit as if there are fresh pretzels inside and then realized it was plastic! Once I got to the car, I swirled my cup upside down like I always do and poked my straw in to take a sip. Since it was a large, there didn't seem to be much ice so I didn't find it very refreshing. After a few more sips, I found the drink to be too milky. There is honeydew flavor, but then a plain milk taste lingers. When you chew the boba, I typically like the mix of the sweet tapioca mixed with the milk tea flavor. In this case, it was just plain tapioca and milk. When I love my drink, I usually finish it before I get home. This time around, I barely drank half of it by the time I got home. Just didn't enjoy the drink and doubt will go back again. I have an extra star for the texture of the boba, which if I actually liked the milk tea, would have really enjoyed the boba that much more. This is the place that turned me into a boba fan back in high school. I went earlier this week for the first time in years and it hasn't really changed. It's kind of ghetto... when we went there was a guy sitting on the floor underneath the side counter (wtf) charging his phone, some kid at that computer that always has shitty wifi, and it was packed. They got my order wrong- a simple thai iced tea with no boba, but brought it out with boba. Oh well though, everything I've tasted has been good. Good to know Boba Loca exists in the Valley. Upon first glance though, I thought it was a bar until my friend pointed out the boba sign. Oops. We walked in and I noticed that the place was a bit warm. I see a floor fan and wonder how it gets during the summer months. They serve churros and funnel cakes along with their wide selection of drinks: slushes, milk teas, smoothies, frapps, juices, shakes, and fusion green teas. Cantaloupe Juice ($4.50) - I was craving something fruity and refreshing. They do use real cantaloupe, which I am relieved and grateful for. The fruit is also in season, so my drink was naturally sweet. Taro Slush with Boba ($4.50) - My friend and I think they may have also used some real taro for this drink. They may have mixed it with the taro flavored powder or maybe the powder is comprised of real taro? My friend claims it does taste different from the other taro drinks he's had before. Service was so-so. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. We got our drinks in a timely manner. Because the place is small and somewhat narrow, the sound of blenders in action is quite deafening, so I don't know how some people can study there. I couldn't help comparing the prices here with the other Boba Locas. $4.50 for milk tea with or without boba is pretty pricey in my opinion, but then again, this may be the only place in Downtown Burbank to get the tapioca pearls. read more

I ordered an ICED MANGO GREEN TEA (with bits of mango purée) and an EGG SALAD with BALSAMIC dressing. It was my first time ordering something other than just a drink at Boba Loca (or any boba tea stations for that matter), but I was extremely hungry from driving down from the bay area. First of all, the ICED MANGO GREEN TEA was nice, but then again, most Boba places offer good drinks. The mango purée was different and gave a nice touch. I was very curious about how the EGG SALAD was going to turn out. It took a really long time for it to be ready, but only because they actually do start preparing it right after you order. In other words,the salad wasn't already made, but the workers there take time to slice the lettuce and cucumbers,, dice the tomatoes, and prepare the egg salad portion, I believe. The salad itself was alright. The tomatoes were my only complaint; they were a little mushy. The lettuce and cucumbers were crisp and crunchy though. My sister enjoyed the salad, while I know I could have gotten better elsewhere, I was just desperate at the time. It wasn't all that bad though, tasted very healthy. read more

Decent bubble tea but definitely not the best I've ever had. I was in town visiting my Burbank office so my coworkers and I popped into downtown Burbank for an afternoon bubble tea break. I got the Thai iced tea which was ok, the portion of bubble tea for the price was a slightly high in my opinion. Also I felt like I was a little shorted on the bubbles in my tea so naturally that is a minus in my book. Some of the best boba I've had! I got the coffee milk tea with boba, and not only was the coffee delicious, it was some of the best tapioca pearls! They were not too squishy/ soggy but not super dense.. the Perfect texture! The couple (?) working were very friendly and recommended the coffee tea over the coconut tea (I asked for their opinion). Sadly to say upon my behalf, this boba place is the best boba place semi-close to where I live. The other boba places around me are those in various restaurants, and boba loca is soooooo many times better than boba at those restaurants. I wished boba loca or some other boba speciality place was closer to my place, but unfortunately, noooope. My first usual was the green tea frappe, but nowadays, I usually get the almond milk tea slush (almond milk tea blended!). The flavor is perfect, despite the first sip of OMGALMONDOVERLOAD, but after that first sip.. it's boba heaven for me. I love how the pearls semi-harden in the iced blended drinks. I've also tried a variety of their smoothies, honeydew milk tea, thai milk tea, regular milk tea, cookies n cream shake, vanilla frappe, chai frappe, and a bunch of other drinks here, and none of them are bad. Oh yeah, I forgot... I also tried some of their peach iced tea, but that was just super sweet. The staff are friendly about customizing your drinks too, which is always a plus! read more

He didn't smile much, but maybe because it was really hot in there. Drink: Rose Milk Tea w/ Pudding - This had the be the most disgusting pudding I had ever had. It wasn't really pudding. It tasted like mushed up overcooked tapioca balls. It was really hard to drink. I think I only had two sips because I had to throw it away. Was in the Mood for a cold drink while walking around in Burbank and we thought we would get some Boba. Went into Boba Loca. Nice looking Place. It had its own unique character. Different from the one in North Hollywood. They had hand drawn art on their walls and in front of their desks. So we liked the place the only reason for the low stars is because it wasn't very good. Especially not for $5. We got a regular Peach Mango smoothie with Boba and it tasted mediocre and I was kinda upset that they charged so much for a very small cup. Definitely better deal at say Jamba Juice or cheaper at Bounce or Lollicup. I don't think I would be complaining if it tasted amazing but not the best bargain I have gotten in a while. read more

This is a nice boba shop in the heart of downtown Burbank. Sometimes you just crave boba! Especially when it's summer and get hot out! Boba loca to the rescue! They have a nice selection of boba drinks. A long list of milk teas, "fusion" teas which is jasmine tea mixed with fruit juice, and smoothies. Most all the drinks are under $5 for a regular size. They have regular boba and "popping" boba which are strawberry or mango flavored for an extra charge. I tend to prefer the boba drinks without milk, so my past few visits were for a Fusion tea. I first had the watermelon and then the peach. I liked both drinks but they were also terribly sweet for me. I also wasn't sure if the juice in the fusion drink was real juice, which is a little disappointing to me but isn't terribly surprising. The friends I came with all got milk tea and really loved it. Their favorite is the honeydew. The cashier and staff have always been prompt and friendly. I think I came on a good day since the store didn't feel terribly hot to me. There's always plenty of seating inside. I took one star off for the difficulty of payment. It's a $10 card minimum, and it's rare in this day and age for people to carry cash. I'd say this is the #1 reason I don't come here more often, I just don't have the cash on hand. I took another star off since I really wish they had a method of adjusting the sweetness of their drinks. The quality is not only pretty low compared to most boba places but it's also pretty expensive. I got lavender milk tea and my bf got earl gray milk tea and each was almost $5 for the regular size because we paid card. We were shocked to see the prices when we came in but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. They have two prices, one if you pay cash and one if you pay card. Paying with card is more expensive. Drinks were okay. Definitely a lesson learned and don't plan to go back. read more

We came here for the first time to buy 4 drinks/two separate orders and the lady at the front seemed nice. she made a comment about how us asking for less ice meant we were trying to get more drink..? Traumatized by Starbucks and their 90% ice and 10% drink over here..so sorry i guess.
