It's small and easy to chew and doesn't taste nasty like some other places. I recently went to Maui and had the most fabulous dessert there. Ice cream underneath shaved ice! I was in love. Sadly, since I've been back on the mainland no luck in the shaved ice dept. The other day I was on a mission for Hawaiian shaved ice. I searched high and low on yelp. Though, every place that the yelpers talked about was way too far from Burbank. I remembered there was a little Hawaiian BBQ on San Fernando. I kept my fingers crossed as I drove there. Walked in and was let down. No desserts! So I turned around with my tail between my legs and left. But, the stars were aligned for me that day. I walked next door into Boba Loca. They had shaved ice! Yippee! The two gentlemen behind the counter rocked! They listened to what I was craving and allowed my to create my own Hawaiian Shaved ice! Sweet vanilla ice cream on the bottom, topped with a huge mound of shaved ice, drenched in Taro (Purple stuff), sprinkled with coconut shavings and pineapple pieces, then drizzled with coconut syrup. It wasn't the Hawaiian "Snow White" that I had on the island. But, it was darn close. I'm still working on the name. Maybe "Purple Haze" oh, so yummy! Those guys were so nice allowing me to concoct my own sweet dessert. Love you Boba Loca! read more

Love this place! They have the greatest service. Go there sometimes during the week or weekends and order a frapp with boba and play some cards. I don't understand how this place has 3.5 stars. I knew from the first day I saw this place that I shouldn't go, but I was getting boba withdrawal. Walking to the register to order, again my gut was telling me, "Just leave already!" I had a feeling the smoothies would be artificial and I'd just regret coming here, but guess what? My cutie friend took me, I liked it alot, its a bit of a tiny place I've prob walked past 100 times, not much chairs and the line cuts through the store, they could use a better layout and more planning inside and I would stay a while if they had beanie bags and comfy looking seats, i enjoyed the bobaloca coffee it was perfectly sweet not sickly, creamy and the boba balls get me every time with joy, I think i paid around $4.50 for a large which is the usual price, I will go back when I'm in burbank for a fun drink, nice big colorful boba straws too :) read more

Boba loca has the best boba ball, it is very soft. My favorite is Taro boba milk tea.

Orange slush with boba is absolutely awesome. The strawberry, not so much. My husband and I frequent the Boba Loca location on Sherman Way. Their service and quality is unparalleled, the location, pretty bad. This one on San Fernando Blvd is cleaner, bigger, nicer, but the strawberry tastes like bland medicine, I dunno. By far the best boba drinks ever are here! It's a pretty popular hang out for teens filled with lots of hand-drawn art on the wall near the register. Whoever draws it is pretty talented. Anyhow, back to the drinks...it's AMAZING! My roommate always gets the thai tea boba and I normally order the lychee slush boba. Just recently they've added flavored boba so a few days ago I replaced the normal boba with lychee boba and it was to die for. Every slurp of the straw filled my mouth with lychee goodness and the boba's popped with each bite that I took! YUMMY! I guess im used to going to better boba places because i had really high expectations for my drink. I got a chai milk tea and it tastes alright but i'd rather get it at bobatime. My boyfriend got a peach mango slushi with boba and he described his drink as a "fabreeze" taste. And when i tasted his, it really did have that fabreeze-like scent! So odd! Our drinks didnt suck, although I guess we're just used to better quality drinks! Might try this place again next time to see if it was just a bad batter. read more

Every time I come in here, I try a different flavor and they've all been good so far. I usually order a milk tea or slushie. Thy have all the usual boba drink flavors so whatever you're looking for, they probably have, but there's nothing unique about their drinks. They're prices are pretty standard - $4.25-5.50 per drink. I was anticipating some creamy-type dealio drink, but I got this this that tasted like freezer burned watermelon. I'm probably being a little harsh, but I was expecting something smoothie-like. Its the only boba place that i know of in Burbank. The tea is pretty good. I usually get the almond milk yea which is yummy. Ive heard good things about the taro drinks also. The boba is kind of ok. It doesn't really taste like anything so not the best. But in Burbank you have to take what you can get. read more

Come here super often now since its close to the workplace and I usually need that boba fix. Don't usually get my normal boba items here, but frapp bobas are pretty good. Been a fan since ummmm high school :) so 6 years ;) Thai Tea with a little Milk Tea on top with boba pleaseeee, or just Thai Tea with boba :) yummmmy! The thing I love about this place, besides the drinks, is the atmosphere. It has like this really original, kick-back, young feel to it. I think it might be the relaxed mood of everyone there, the staff & customers together. And also the little graphics/ drawings on the walls, you can tell everyone likes being there. They also have like board games you can play & just spend some time there.... I've been to a couple other boba locas, however, none of them are like the one in Burbank..... If you're going to go often, make sure to get a punch card for bobas because after the 10th one you get a free boba drink. You'll get the card filled pretty fast... Well if you're at the Burbank Media Center and you want something to drink other than the typical Starbucks or whatever, go check this place out. They have a lott of variety, slushes, teas, juices, desserts (even though I never tried any).... And as for the people leaving them bad reviews based off a dessert experience...... ummmmm Hello! the place is called "Boba Loca" so they are known for the drinks...... You dont go into a Burger Hut and expect an amazinggg taco! You should get what they specialize in..... The reason I keep coming back to this place, is because it's good. All the drinks are made well and are flavorful, and there's plenty of boba added to them. The people who work here have been nothing but nice, the inside is decorated with pictures people drew all along one side of the wall, and there's a decent amount of space between tables. Overall the interior can be summed up with one word, "fun." I feel lucky to have this place so nearby, it's a true little gem. read more

It's easy if you're in the neighborhood. They have some super interesting flavor combos. Their basic almond milk tea boba has the weirdest flavor, and it's usually not palatable after a few sips, almost like it went bad/sour. i love boba i love boba i love boba my first introduction to chain boba drinks was the boba loca deeper in the sfv on sepulveda on my way to northridge. but that's how i discovered there's a location much closer to me here in burbank (via the website - btw there IS an option to turn off their obnoxious music on the webpage). the slush drinks are fantastic and bursting with fresh fruit and incredible flavour (amplified by the addition of simple syrup/sugar-syrup but that's acceptible when fruit is out of season - a cantelope in november will not taste as sweet as a cantelope in july) the thai tea is sweet perfection the shakes, my favourite, are loverly and if you ask for "only a little boba" they oblige with a smile. try the coconut or mango shake. worth the calories and worth fighting for parking on san fernando! read more

This is our spot. My boyfriend and I come here at least once a week. We live in Glendale, but we drive down when Miguel is working to get some Boba and chit chat with him. He's become a very good friend of ours. I like the other kids there too. Its a very lively environment. There are always young people hanging around in the store. Always laughing and enjoying their boba. Its a really good place to go if you want to have a laugh while enjoying your delicious boba. I always get the Thai Tea and my boyfriend always get the Milk Tea. Its funny how Miguel knows our order by heart. When we come in, he already has it ready for us. I wish every cafe or restaurant would treat their guests like Miguel does. He honestly feels like family. We're moving to SD in few months, and its going to be very strange not seeing Miguel and drinking his delic Thai Tea w. Boba. We have a GSD mix puppy and we take him to see Miguel all the time.
