I tried Boba Square for the first time yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised by how good their cheesecake was! I had their Strawberry Cheesecake which was delightful and I had it with their Jasmine Green Tea which was also really nice and aromatic. Definitely worth coming back! read more

Most boba milk tea places don't have the blended variety, which I much more prefer over the regular (non-blended) one. When I walked in and asked if boba square had it, they said no. After a brief discussion, Chris said he was willing to try and make it, but cautioned that he didn't know how it would turn out. Therefore, we both took a risk and I requested he give it a try. How do you guys think it turned out? It was terribly good, haha. I told Chris to have it put on the menu. If you like the regular boba milk tea, give the blended variety a try (ask Chris to make it for you), I'm sure you won't be disappointed. The milk tea took too long to make. I got the earl grey latte and the Okinawa milk tea latte. The earl grey latte somehow needed tasting like coffee. The Okinawa latte tasted like a powdered milk tea mix. For the price it was definitely not worth it, would not recommend. read more

We ordered a house milk tea end it turned out to be very bitter. I brought it back to the server and said it was too bitter. He only offered to add more water and milk to it. I also ordered a taro milk slush and it turned out to be basically taro flavored milk iced water. I would definitely not go back again.Not worth the high price. read more

I've been to this Boba place many times and I had never had a horrible experience until today! while walking towards the shop I was stepping on some area that just had dirt and like one bush and I was going to go through there just as a shortcut, but then realized I couldn't go through so I just went back to the sidewalk area and this lady outside then said "yeah you shouldn't be coming to destroy other people's property, where are you even from it doesn't seem like you belong here!" (I am Hispanic btw) and to me that comment just felt racist! all I told her was like sorry, but I do not need the attitude and then walked in, made my order, and as I was waiting she came in and I just thought she was a customer too, but then I realized that she was an employee! she headed towards the back and while waiting for my drink she came back to me and from behind the counter got close to my face and started yelling at me "you know I can call the cops on you for mocking me!" I then told her that I wasn't mocking nor yelling at her like she was doing to me and she proceeds to tell me " stop talking I am talking! after I am done I do not want to hear you talk again after I am done!" I didn't say anything just because I didn't want to be like her all ignorant. She then left towards the back and who I thought was the manager came by, but in reality she was the owner and came to check on me. I explained to her everything and she was very sorry for how her employee spoke to me and for the unnecessary comment she had made towards me. The owner asked me if I wanted the other lady to come apologize to me and I said no because I knew it wouldn't be an honest apology. I told her that I wouldn't be coming back because of how that employee made me feel and I didn't trust that employee making my drinks. The owner again was very sorry and said that anyone and everyone was welcomed at her shop and that I hopefully would still be a customer, but honestly even though the owner was very nice and all I wouldn't go back ever to a place that made me feel unwanted just because of how I looked! Wish I could give zero star. 3-4 MOLDY aloe jelly in my drink!!!!!!!!!!!! I was there for the first time yesterday (1/31/20), just trying it out because I saw people at Zion with boba square n I got curious. Ordered passion fruit green tea w aloe jelly topping. Big mistake. Very big mistake on my part. Boba is a Taiwanese invention, I was curious about boba square because I wanted to know if Koreans can pull this off... well, my suspicion was right. They served me moldy aloe jelly. I didn't taste the first moldy aloe until about halfway thru my cup. I freaked out. No way there's mold in my boba, I thought. NO WAY they'd serve customers mold! I spat out and was scared to sip it again, my friend took a sip and told me no mold. So after 10min, after rinsing my mouth completely, I took another sip n I didn't taste mold. I was scared to keep drinking...but I just continued to sip it cuz I paid $5 for this drink, didn't wanna waste money, u know. Well, when the cup was done, like my last 5 jellies in the cup, I sipped it again and I tasted mold again. I spat it out. I looked in my cup and yup, mold in my aloe. It's only in a few of them, maybe 3-4. This is so disgustingggggg I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY SERVED ME MOLDY ALOE!!!!!! My usual boba places are ding tea (in tustin, not the one in irvine cuz irvine ding tea sucks!!), sunmerry bakery (in irvine) and tea station (in irvine) name changed to 'go yummy' recently. (I know gong cha, boiling point, sharetea, half n half and tenren are v good too, and most drinks at cha for tea r also v good. But these aren't my usual spots only cuz they're further or not at the plazas I go to run errands/shop/eat). The Koreans are good at many things, such as making tv, cell phones, fridges, put makeup on girlie guys, etc. but for boba, they gotta leave it to the Taiwanese. Just like why I go to Korean owned Korean restaurants, Mexican owned burrito and taco spots, Japanese owned sushi restaurants; for boba we gotta go to Taiwanese owned boba shops. And for those who r curious, YES I got sick the same night! My body had to flush out aLL thAt mOLDDDD I ate. It was not fun. Oh btw, beside the moldy aloe jelly, there was no tea flavor at all -__________- so even if I skipped the topping to avoid mold, their teas are not good... how do u open a tea shop and not know how to make tea? Doesn't make sense at all. Inside was so hot that we couldn't sit for more than 1minute after we got our drink. We were all sweaty. It was a warm day in irvine, and they weren't blasting a/c. We went outside to sit for fresh air, even with the heat rising from the concrete sidewalk outside (yes, I felt all that heat rise... I could SEE all the heat rise in front of my eyes!), it was still more comfortable being out. They need to not be stingy and just pay for a/c.... This is socal. It gets hot. An expense like this is part of running a boba business. Would I return and give them another shot? HECK NO. You should save ur $5 and spend it at the boba shops I listed above. The tea flavor was mild and it wasn't sweet enough, even though I didn't make any adjustments. Usually the regular settings are already sweet. Overall I thought it tasted watered down. I was so happy this place finally opened! I've been a fan of their Tustin Boba Square ever since they opened and now it's much closer to my home! I have to say it is smaller than the Tustin location but I didn't see too much problem with that. The interior is quite neat and minimalistic. It seems to have this wood and white theme which is quite different from their Tustin location's decor. The workers were nice and welcoming. I got Strawberry Watermelon Slush which was amazing as always. I am looking forward to their growth and hope that they'll also bring in some desserts like waffles, shaved ice and honey toast like their Tustin location. read more
