Stairs to the two restrooms up and away from the dining area

The exterior is so cute and interesting and fun looking, the font and sign remind me of video games or give a Minecraft vibe. Walking in is even funner and even more inviting . Everything is so vibrant and put together very well. It's clean inside and has a super simple set up. The counter to order is right on your left hand side when you enter . You order there and then they bring it to your table. The service was good. Pizza took about 15 minutes to come to our table. The plates and parm and crushed red and anything else you might need are self serve. I tried the gabagool pizza which was tasty. The pizza is square shaped and thick; loaded with cheese, it fall over the sides and crusts up around the side of the pizza, where the crust is, that is already perfectly crispy in itself alone. Over all this place is small, cute, inviting, bright and quiet. They had a few people on staff and everything was handled in a timely manner. I wanna go back and try their fruity pebbles cheesecake ! I have to point out my favorite thing about this place, the restrooms are located upstairs (there's two) and they're no where near the dining area. You don't see that often and I truly loved to see it. Thanks Bobbi's !

Like the square pizza concept and love the pink square boxes. There is trivia on Sunday @ 6 My pizza was a bit burnt on the bottom for my taste. Could also use a bit more sauce. The sausage was absolutely delicious. Nice thick slices and perfect bit of heat. Pizza would be enough for 2 or three people.

We came to Bobbi's due to the Yelp Elite Experience. Connecticut is the pizza capital of the US...so it says when you enter the state via the I-95. So Detroit-ish pizza in New Haven thee pizza mecca, is either a challenge or an insult towards our thin-crust, coal fired Neapolitan pizza. I accepted the challenge, cause I'm not that easily insulted. Bobbi's is a colorful location, with an almost NY vibe when you enter. A narrow isle with a counter, but without the slices displayed. We were welcomed, and after studying the menu we made a decision. The Huey. I almost ordered a second square, but I was glad I didn't. When our order came I realized how big it was. Easily 4 people could share a square. As we ordered we also met Liz who is also a Yelper, and we decided to sit together enjoy our lunch, and make new friends. Liz had the Becca btw. she offered but I don't try. You probably have to look her reviews up to find out. Bobbi's is not your NH style pizza, so it doesn't really compete it's just different, in a good way. Our Huey was crispy, tasty and a satisfying. I hope they do well, and especially the locals open their hearts and give Bobbi's a try. If you're not a pizza lover, don't worry they also have wings, fries, and smash burgers on the menu. They cater as well...

Tried this new Chicago style pizza in the area of broadway in New Haven. It definitely delivers on flavor. The pizza has a rich balance of flavors , goood crust and quality ingredients. They offers only one size for now, which can be limited for some people. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Worth checking out if you are craving for something different.

Pretty solid detroit style pizza place! Located at the Shops at Yale is a new pizza spot serving a different style than the infamous New Haven apizza. A good spot to go with friends if you're looking to split some pizzas. Pizzas range from $20-$30 and are 8x10. A bit pricey, but pretty filling. We got the gabagool, butter chicken, and huey and we all agree that the gabagool was our favorite! Super flavorful and balanced well. We also got all of their sauces to try. At $2 a piece, it's pretty pricey but they are all housemade and delicious! If you like dill, you will like the ranch. My personal favorite was the garlic parmesan. Delicious truffle fries as well! Overall, I would come here again if I was specifically craving detroit style pizza. If not, it's a bit too pricey.

Got to experience this cool pizza shop because of YELP CT ! Thank you again ! We got 16$ off our order! For being YELP elites !!! I decided to try the BUFF CHIX for $22.00 it came with house buffalo sauce, pulled chicken, crumbled blue cheese and celery. It was yummy! I loved how the edges of the pizza had a nice crunchy cheesy texture to them. My partner got the SGT PEPPERONI for $20.00 it came with red sauce , hot honey, pepperoni and basil. It looked delicious. To drink I enjoyed the house wine. It was $10.00 we also enjoyed the salt and pepper fries for 5$ and the Smokey bbq wings for $11.00 . Overall restaurant was clean. Service was fast. Food was fresh and tasty.

The ambience is mediocre, but the pizza is amazing! If you want deep dish pizza, this is the place to go.

I got takeout so I can speak to the establishment, only the food. For delivery it was still nice and crispy, very flavorful. Good tomato sauce. I was full after 2 slices. I love the little box, but $17 for a small personal cheese pizza is painful. I would try again with a group but I have to admit in a pizza city like New Haven it's hard to compete with thin crust. I hope Bobbi's is here to stay, it's good to have other types of pizza, and the location being walking distance from Yale University makes a great option for students.

I think this might be the only Detroit pizza in New Haven? Love a Detroit pie so was very excited to try! It's a lil pricey for how much you get ($20 for four slices of cheese), but it's pretty thick and filling, and I found the quality to be good. It has the nicely crisped, cheesy sides we all know and love in a square pie. The people seemed nice and the inside is fun, with a lighthearted lavender interior. You order at the counter and they bring your pie out. I enjoyed the experience and will be back, but perhaps not often at the price point. Slices would be a nice option!

Bobbi's Detroit-ish Style Pizza is a Detroit-style pizzeria that opened in New Haven, Connecticut in October 2025. It was founded by restaurateur Ankit Chellani and executive chef Bryan Burke. The two business partners are longtime collaborators. Chellani owns the nearby restaurant Sherkaan Indian Street Food, while Burke is the executive chef there. It was Chellani who approached Burke with the idea to open a Detroit-style pizzeria in New Haven of all places. They both labeled the pizzeria as "Detroit-ish", which allows them to experiment beyond what is typical of the style. Burke credited his mother and Bobbi's namesake, Barbara "Bobbi" Burke, with inspiring the restaurant's nonconformist approach. High hydration dough, extended cold fermentation and Wisconsin brick cheese are key ingredients and steps going into these personal-style pizzas, while parbaking helps give them their signature, caramelized cheese edges. Although they are using traditional pizza toppings, the partners are also experimenting with Indian toppings such as butter chicken and za'atar. In addition to the pizzas, the menu at Bobbi's also consists of smashburgers, wings, fries, and salads. I recently visited Bobbi's with my two young sons. We really liked the interior with the bright mural and purple neon lights. The aesthetic is meant to offer an experience that mirrors the food. After looking over the menu, we decided to order and share the "Cheese" (red sauce, brick, cheddar, Pecorino Romano) and the "Sgt. Pepperoni" (red sauce, pepperoni, hot honey, basil). These pies were so good! The perfect blend of toppings and spices made them so flavorful, and they had a perfect crunch from the crispy, caramelized edges. A little over a week later, I found myself back at Bobbi's to try their limited collaboration pizza with Haven Hot Chicken. The "Haven Hot Chicken Pizza" (Rob sauce, jumbo chicken tendies, brick, cheddar, garlic-dill pickles, chili oil drizzle) was out of this world! I'm so happy that Bobbi's has helped to diversify and expand New Haven's pizza scene. I hope to be back again and again!

First time stopping at Bobbi's for Detroit-ish pizza. It was great! We got the pepperoni pie with hot honey and the butter chicken pie. It was a little lighter than your traditional Detroit, but it held toppings really well. Good quality too! The space was nice. Not busy because there were a lot of pickup orders. Colorful with seats in the back. Not a handicap accessible bathroom since it's on the top of a steeper staircase with a small door (just fyi) We will definitely be going back!

I've visited Bobby Pizza in New Haven three times now, and my overall experience has been a journey -- starting rough, but ending strong thanks to great management and some standout menu items. FIRST VISIT I ordered The Becca (ricotta + broccoli, white pizza). Pizza Rating: 7/10 -- Solid flavor, good texture, nothing to complain about. I also ordered the Orange Honey Sriracha Wings, and that's where things went downhill--fast. Wings Rating: 0/10 -- Bad Flavor, soft skin, and worst of all: undercooked. I bit into two wings and both were pink inside. Completely unacceptable. I called the restaurant, and the first person I spoke with insisted the food wasn't undercooked -- which was honestly insulting, considering I was looking at pink chicken in my hand. He offered a $5 coupon, which felt disrespectful given the wings alone were about $12. However, an hour later, another manager called, apologized sincerely, and offered a $50 gift card to make things right. That gesture completely shifted my experience and made me willing to give them another chance. One thing I did love from visit #1 was the Unicorn Yak soda -- an orange raspberry cream soda that was insanely delicious. Soda Rating: 10/10. SECOND VISIT Using the gift card, we tried: Butter Chicken Pizza -- 9/10 AMAZING. The flavor was rich, balanced, and instantly became my favorite item. Salt & Pepper Fries -- Simple, clean, well-cooked. Daughter-approved. Of course, another Unicorn Yak. This visit won me over. Fresh food, excellent flavor, and smooth service. THIRD VISIT This time we tried the: Buffalo Chicken Pizza -- 6.8/10 Good, but the buffalo sauce was a bit overwhelming for me personally. Still worth trying, but not my top pick. OVERALL IMPRESSION Despite a terrible first experience with undercooked wings, the management handled the situation extremely well and genuinely made things right. Since then, the food has been consistently tasty, creative, and well-prepared. The restaurant feels clean, organized, and the staff is polite. Final Rating: 8/10 (4/5 stars). I definitely plan to return and explore more items -- just not the wings.

My friends and I decided to get dinner here before a Yale basketball game since it was close by the game. Detroit style pizza is one of my favorite pizza styles, and I was surprised to see a Detroit pizza shop in New Haven which specializes in thin crust apizza. At first I was skeptical about the pricing because they cost around $20-22 for a 8"x10" pizza since this is similar to a standard piece of printer paper and therefore seemed small for the price. My group of 6 decided to split three pizzas and the truffle parm fries. We ordered the Gabagool (red sauce, capocollo, red onion, goat cheese, balsamic reduction), the butter chicken pizza which was topped with tandoori chicken, cilantro, and a yogurt drizzle, and the Huey (red sauce, Italian sausage, pepperoni, and crispy bacon). All three pizzas came out thick, hot, and with beautiful carmelized cheese edges. The dough was airy, and chewy; similar to focaccia. The majority of the group's favorite was the Gabagool. The pizza squares were so thick and loaded which justified the size and price. We even had some leftover. The truffle parm fries were good, just not the best truffle parm fries I've had. My group had fun testing all the sauces with the fries and pizza. The garlic parm and ranch were the clear favorites. As for the interior, it gave chill college vibes with the lavender walls and neon lights. It took a while for the pizzas to come out, so I recommend arriving before the dinner rush.

We walked in with no reservation on Valentine's Day (bold), and the manager couldn't have been more welcoming. Super friendly, got us seated quickly, and set the tone right away. That kind of hospitality matters. The vibe? Cool, modern, slightly moody -- perfect accidental Valentine's dinner energy. The service was on point all night. Attentive, smooth, and genuinely warm. Now let's talk about the moment that activated my Dominican DNA. I ordered the Sweet Plantains with Cilantro Aioli as an appetizer and when I saw plátanos on that menu? My son ordered a burger with truffle fries and I am STILL thinking about those fries today. Crispy. Perfect salt. That truffle flavor hit just right. Those fries deserve their own review. And because it was Valentine's Day and I believe in celebrating myself too, I had the Pineapple Express. Divine. Tropical. Smooth. The kind of drink that keeps the gozadera going.
