I ordered 10 crab cakes on May 23 and received an email saying my order was received. I emailed them about a week later asking the order status as I hadn't gotten any notice they been shipped. There was no reply to my email. I called this morning 10 days after I placed my order and they collected the $223. for the 10 crab cakes and had the pleasure of speaking with a less than stellar employee IMO. This employee was IMO rude and argumentative They stated a banner came up when I ordered saying they'd be delayed due to being closed for the holiday. I never saw any such banner I did get an email days after I ordered saying they would be closed an extra day for the holiday. That being said it would mean they had not shipped my order in 8 days Yes that was her excuse. Then when I stated I just wanted a refund she wanted me to provide information I didn't have right in front of me for her to verify the order she had just given me the order date for, so she obviously had that information right in front of her. After about 20-30 seconds of her waiting for me to look it up she decided she didn't need me to give it to her. This is not the Bobby Chez I remember. They will never get my order or recommendation again. That being said after reading the recent reviews this may have been a blessing in disguise. read more

Daily Specials change, well, daily. You can't get all items every day or even every week. Check the website before going to avoid disappointment. I have never purchased anything that I didn't like here. The chicken cheesesteak eggrolls are out of this world, but are only available every couple weeks or so. Traveled from Jersey City just to get takeout. Got crab cakes that were all crabmeat, no filler. Covered in Panko and deep fried. Completed cooking them up when I got home and had them with the cheesiest mac & cheese , potato salad with green pepper and Cole slaw. All Bobby's. Also purchased broiled crab cakes that I used to stuff flounder that I had in the freezer. Delicious. The last thing I purchased was the giant fried shrimp. They were sold individually and were huge. Made shrimp parmigiana with some fresh mozzarella and Jersey tomatoe sauce. Three great meals from one trip. Today I picked up some flounder, garlic mashed potatoes and spinach with garlic and oil. The food was delicious, fresh and very tasty. Love that I finished the cook at home so it was served hot. The best type of takeout!!! Hard to make a decision as everything looked divine. VERY rude staff. Middle aged blonde woman behind the counter is extremely rude and acts as if you should be grateful she allowed you in the store. I don't think I'll be going back. She is actually combative when answering questions. This review is for the Sewell location. My girlfriend and I went here for some take out. Mind you, this is a take out restaurant. They had a "special" Valentine's Day menu with inflated prices right next to their regular menu which was prominently posted.. I asked for the regular crab cake platter which I normally get and the older woman literally scowled and yelled at me saying "WE AREN'T DOING PLATTERS TODAY.".. Needless to say we walked out. Food and service were wonderful! Those were some unfortunate encounters described below... the people I met were great! We went early on a Thursday, just when it opened and they were setting up. I really understand why people come for the king crab cakes! I also highly recommend the potato salad (and, honestly, everything looks really good!) as well as the fries! They make everything as you order, so make sure you tell them to fully cook it if you want to eat in! Or they half-cook it so you can take-out and cook it "fresh" at home for lunch/dinner! We have had Bobby's crab cakes and other food from other locations and they are extremely good crab cakes at that price point. I have a big problem. Actually, my mother does. She was treated like absolute garbage by a VERY rude woman at your Turnersville store Friday 2/7 around 4:30pm (she was blonde and wore a lot of makeup, in her 40's or 50's). Her and my aunt were in the store (no one else was there) and the rude woman (I would use what I am thinking, but I will keep it professional), had the audacity to take a woman who walked in before her to wait on! Then, when my mother spoke up, the rude woman got nasty and cocky with her. She then purposely mis-marked the pot pies, and had the audacity to tell the other woman "You were so nice" (abt the "confusion") as my mother walked away!!! How dare she treat customers like this??? Tell you what, you are very lucky it was not me. I do not stand for being treated like this! I would have walked out and never returned, and never give the company another dime. I will also be sure to review this restaurant on Yelp and other local menu sites about this incident. I forgot to mention, what started this incident: my mother commented to my aunt how there was no one in the place. And normally, people need to wait in lines out the door. I am a big fan of Bobby Chez food and I must admit the food even at this location is good. While I was placing my take out order for Mother's Day dinner, I ordered 2 mini crabcakes cakes and some potato salad which I told the girl was to eat in. When I got the eat in part of my order and asked for forks she said there where none and I quote "ha-ha, out of luck, we don't get a lot of people who eat here". I really cannot rate this place being as though it was closed!!! Every year AMEX has small business Saturdays in which you can spend monies to support local businesses and get $10.00 back for a purchas over $10.00, well the places was closed for a week!!! I checked the website and it was not advertised that the business would be closed!!! Needless to say I was hungry and crabcake less so I coul not rate the food nor the service...Also there was not a sign on the door to state that the business was closed, so other people were waiting also...The only upside is that I found a Classic Cake bakery and the service was awesome!!! read more

I visited Bobby Chez in Washington Township yesterday for the first time. I was AMAZED at the variety of delicious looking prepared foods available!! I always thought it was just crab cakes, but there were salads, pastas, numerous side dishes, as well as an abundance of main entrees. I brought home the pasta of the day, potato salad, and mac and cheese. Unbelievable quality, especially for the price!! The potato salad was close to own Mother's homemade as I have had since she passed. I think I'm going to put my stove on Craigslist and just buy dinner at Bobby Chez every night!!
