We discovered this place during the Pizza Wars a few weeks ago. I REALLY liked what they served - a super thin and crispy slice of cheese. So we wanted to go back and experience a whole pizza. We ordered a Rosa Grande Pepperoni Pie. The tomato sauce is has good flavor and the crust was tasty, too. The crust wasn't quite thin and crispy like the small slice sample we had at the pizza wars, but it was good. I'm not a fan of the pepperoni they offer, but the hubs seemed to have enjoyed it. I went to their website and it seems that they only offer three kinds of pie - you can get a whole pie or a slice. I'll be honest, unless we go for slices and I get the cheese then I'll likely not go back. Don't get me wrong, their sauce and crust WAS good. If you like a bit of kick in your pepperoni, this may be the place for you. It's not super spicey, I was probably turned off because I'm just uber white. :) You'll have to give them a try and decide for yourself. The guy that took our order was VERY nice and informative, keeping us posted on how long it would be. The bar lighting is adorable - I'm not a fan of taking food pics, but will DEFINITELY take a picture when I see something super ingenious like this! Plenty of indoor seating and some outdoors. I imagine whenever Petco Park is busy this place is, too, so be sure to time your visit. Thanks for reading my review!

Bobby's is a very small and unassuming shop near Petco Park. But even though it's small, these pizzas pack a punch and I really liked them! The cashier was super kind and nice walking is through the very concise menu. They only do 3 kinds of pizzas which made ordering really easy and simple. I loved each of the pies and would be happy to have any of them again (hot honey and cheese were my favorites). The dough and crust were nice and crispy and I honestly could not think of any other way to improve it. The crust was still airy and light too with a crunch. If you're looking for some seriously good NY-style pizza, you have to come check out Bobby's!

Walked into Bobby's pizza around 5:30pm on a Friday night. We were the only ones dining in for about 30-45 minutes or so. They have indoor and outdoor seating, plus a bar. Staff was friendly and attentive. They even gave us a 15% locals discount for living across the street. I was a bit disappointed that they only had three types of pizza and not much else on the menu (a few salads and dessert), but it was good New York style! We tried a slice of each (hot honey, pepperoni, and cheese). They gave us a free slice of cheese pizza since we were waiting a while for a new pie to be made. It is across from petco park / downtown, so it is street parking or a garage not far away. Would be a good spot to come grab a slice and a beer before or after a game or a quick lunch.

Bobbys just opened up in East Village and the fact that they sell pizza by the slice is a big plus in my opinion, as i don't know if another place in waking distance that does the same. The price is also great, and their slices are large. They are right across from the Padres stadium. I tried a slice of the hot honey pizza and really liked the flavor. To me it had just the right amount of sauce, and didn't overtake the pizza. It was just a tad spicy and not too sweet. My slice tasted fresh as well, and not like it had been sitting all day under the heat lamp, and the crust had a nice bit of crisp like i like it. I will say it did have a little grease on it, but honestly i think that's a bit standard for pepperoni pizza. They also made a great use of such a small space. They really refreshed the decor, and have a large TV to watch games. I'm not a Beer Drinker by any means but they do have them on tap if that's your thing.

The guys that work here are very kind and professional. They made a small mistake on my order and remade my pie immediately.

My pizza slice came out really fast. I ordered the Hot Honey pizza. All the staff members were friendly and prompt. This pizza joint is pretty spacious with plenty of seating. I dined in during lunch.

I came here around 6 PM on a Wednesday evening. The space has a mix of tables, high tops, and a bar area, and you order at the counter. I ordered the hot honey pepperoni pizza with jalapeños. I don't usually like spicy food or jalapeños, but it wasn't spicy at all. The flavor was excellent, and the crust was absolutely phenomenal. Thin, crispy, and cooked perfectly. There was a decent amount of grease on top so I used napkins to dab it off, but it didn't take away from how good it was. They sell pizza by the slice and currently offer three options: 1. Hot honey pepperoni 2. Pepperoni 3. Cheese Slices are $4.50, and they're huge so it's a great value. The only downside is the beer selection. They don't have much on tap or a craft beer menu. Bottles are available, but it's mostly standard options like Modelo and Heineken, with no local beers. My slice was heated up and ready in under two minutes, and they brought it straight to the table. The staff member who helped me was extremely friendly. Street parking only, but there was plenty available right outside when I went. That wouldn't be the case during games or nearby events. Overall, this place is a great deal. Super convenient if you just want a slice, located in a great part of town, very clean, fast service, and genuinely amazing pizza.

Dude, I've been waiting for a decent food option in/near my building. This is it !! The service is friendly and the aesthetics goes with baseball - hints the stadium across the street. I'm excited for this place. It's not doughy and the owner is cool. What I love the most is that they sell by the slices !! So you don't have to buy a whole pie for yourself. I would recommend and try again.

I've passed by this place many times and once heard a couple leaving say how good the food was and that they'd be coming back so I decided to try it the next night. I called ahead to order so I could pick it up and head home. I ordered two slices of the hot honey pie and the apple walnut salad. My order was pretty much ready when I got there, so a few minutes of paying and I was heading home only to arrive and find out there's pepperoni on the pizza, not specified on the menu. So back I went to return the slices and the staff was very friendly and more than happy to fix this. It took a few minutes to get the new slices (sans pepperoni) and I was on my way. Was it worth the extra obstacles? Yeah, it was amazing pizza. Excellent crust and crisp with fresh ingredients. I inhaled the two slices and the salad was also great. Just be sure to ask in advance what's on each pizza or salad to be sure since unfortunately the menu is incorrect online and in store.

We were dressed casually but were treated by Luca and his team as if we were dressed to the nines. I want to state this- the place was packed on a Sunday evening and although it appeared Luca was the only waiter, he had a great team helping bring bread, water, dishes, etc. This team works great together! And the way that Luca interacted with all of his customers- amazing! Our family felt as though we knew him forever. The appetizer and salad were very good. And our main dishes of carbonara, bolognese and red sauce rigatoni were delicious. I really didn't think any of us would finish them but we couldn't put our forks down. It's a lovely place above a pizzeria - we literally passed by once and missed the entrance. Once you get up stairs, the seating area is well designed so that everyone had room enough to not feel cramped as in other restaurants. Great place for family or romantic dinner! Thank you, Luca and team for giving us such a great experience while on vacation in San Diego!

We came across Nonna's, and since I had always wanted to try it, we decided to give it a chance. The hostess was very sweet and seated us quickly, which was a great start. We ordered the calamari and two pasta dishes--one with truffle mushroom sauce and the other with braised pork. The calamari was okay, but it mostly tasted like breading and didn't have much flavor beyond that. The truffle mushroom pasta had a good sauce, but the pasta itself was very bland. Honestly, the pasta tasted like something you could buy at a grocery store and heat up at home. My boyfriend's pasta was okay as well, but neither of us felt like the dishes had much flavor, and the portions were on the smaller side. Unfortunately, the service was probably the biggest disappointment of the night. Our waiter came over, dropped off the water, and shortly after came back to take our order. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, so we were surprised by how unfriendly and rushed he seemed. There was no smile, no attempt at conversation, or even a general sense of warmth. What really stood out to me, though, was watching him interact with another couple who were seated outside on the patio. He was completely different with them--smiling, laughing, chatting, and being very personable. At one point, my boyfriend politely asked if he could order a whiskey sour. When the waiter brought the drink, he literally slammed it down on our table, which honestly caught both of us off guard. I then watched him bring the other couple two glasses of wine, gently place them on their table, and do so with a smile. After that, the only other time he came back to our table was to rush us to take our plates. I completely understand that everyone has bad days, and I'm not someone who expects over-the-top service but I have worked in the food industry myself for many years so I do expect at least basic friendliness and hospitality--especially when you can clearly see that the same server is capable of providing it to other guests. For reference, our waiter was bald and wore glasses. He never told us his name. Overall, I'm glad I finally got to try Nonna's, but unfortunately, neither the food nor the service left us wanting to come back. There are so many other restaurants with better food, portions, and hospitality that I would personally choose somewhere else for our next special occasion.

It was a Friday evening and every restaurant on the street was full and vibrant. You could Yelp these places all day long and it would be hard to choose. There were pretty white tablecloths, the hostess was smiling ready to answer any questions and of course, the menu looked wonderful. Voilà! We'd found our spot. Our waiter was so personable and had all the answers to our inquiries. He suggested items and even answered honestly when needed. I got a Le Pécora Nera Sangria (fizzy blackberry with lemon). Tasty, but too many blackberry seeds coming up the straw. I'd get another one next time. For the appetizers: RISOTTO ARANCINI (a MUST get) - these were absolutely delicious. Four good size bread crumbed fried balls of risotto sitting in the restaurant's own tomato gravy. HOMEMADE FOCACCIA WITH DIPPING OIL (yes, that's the official name) - this is a basket of super soft, warm focaccia bread for a great price. I would get it no matter what main course you're getting! It soaks up every sauce and it's just delicious. MAIN: BAKED LASAGNA (meat) - with the two appetizers this is the perfect size for both of us. No need to get one per person! It was absolutely wonderful. I would get it again. All in all, I'd definitely go back. The food was absolutely delicious and flavorful and the employees we came in contact with were great as well. We didn't want to sit at a table right next to the hundreds of people walking by, I don't like that, but there are plenty other options one row in or inside the restaurant.
