Decided to try this place that I have been passing by for years. Ordered a turkey bacon melt combo, a patty melt combo, and a mushroom cheeseburger with large chili cheese fries. The food tasted great! Especially the mushroom burger with all its gooeyness....yum. In the melts, they put fresh lettuce and tomatoes, so if you don't want them, you have to mention it. They had a nice amount of dressing and cheese and not too much lettuce. Everything went together really nice. The fries were really good too. A little thin for my taste, but they were served nice and hot, crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. They were also nicely seasoned. The chili cheese fries weren't bad, but tasted very similar to what I can make at home just by opening up a can at home. One of my favorite burger joints in the 626. It's one of those old school spots with a retro vibe inside that serves breakfast, tacos, and teriyaki too. There were lots of small joints like this all over LA in the 80's and 90's so I took my LA-native parents here and they loved everything about it. Staff is always friendly, food never takes more than 10 minutes to come out and their serving sizes justify the price. OMG! Bob's Burgers hit the spot! It was definitely the burger I was craving. I traveled to L.A. with my best friend because she was moving there from Miami, FL. Girls here are RUDE RUDE RUDE!!! The girl taking the orders at the drive-thru is completely terrible. Has attitude and very condescending. I ordered three burgers without pickles tomatoes and onions and when I ordered the fourth hamburger special the same way, she proceeded to ask "So what do you want on it? The lettuce and spread?" And I asked "for the last burger? Yes. Just like the other ones." And she then replied with "So just the lettuce and spread on this one?" And I said "if that's what's left over after no onions pickles or tomatoes." She sighed and said "okay." When I got to the window, you can tell she was bothered. I have also tried their chicken/carne asada burrito, pastrami sandwich, steak sandwich, tuna sandwich, quesadillas, and chili cheese burger. Their burritos are pretty big with generous servings of meat. The pastrami tasted pretty good, though personally I like The Hat better. The steak sandwich comes with a big piece of steak, lettuce and tomato. The flavor of the steak is really good but it's just a normal sandwich otherwise. The tuna isn't my favorite... But still decent. And their quesadillas are huge lol. Overall, I definitely recommend this place for a simple burger or chili cheese craving. Careful. They don't pay attention to detail. My burger came with shredded lettuce that was dripping wet. I was left with a very soggy bread, and cold from the bottom half of the burger. Get rid of your cook or tell your prep workers to learn how to properly store shredded lettuce. A burger is not a burger if the bread contains way more moisture then the sauce you put into it. Maybe if you remove the thousands of options on your menu, your prep cooks can show more attention to everything you serve. I feel sorry for the Preps working here as the size of the menu is insane. The sandwich large in size came on a elongated sandwich roll that was very soft to the bite with a generous amount of mustard and pickles that complement everything. The pastrami meat was plenty and I actually had a difficult time keeping the meat from falling out but that's a good thing. Overall the pastrami sandwich not as good as The Hat I can honestly say it's pretty close to being the same quality and taste! Id say it's the best by far for this area and I'd bet that the average person if not told would think its from The Hat so give it a try. You get unlimited drink refills on soda, ice tea, and water. They have orange bang, Horchata, and other Mexi drinks behind the counter that you can request also. Chili cheese fries are heaven sent! Melted cheese on top of the fries then the cheese is topped off with some fresh cheese that is melting as you're eating! **Drool** You can sit outside if you're going to eat that without napkins like me and don't want people staring as you go to town on your food.. Lol. Outside is a beautiful koi fish pond with a small waterfall. The tables are covered with umbrellas for those hot summer days. Interior has AC, clean floors/seats, posters on the wall of different celebrities, bathroom on location, and the parking lot is decent size. We've been going to Bob's Burgers off and on for years! As of late, because of a major kitchen remodel, we've been finding ourselves going more often than not. They DO NOT disappoint! From their cheeseburgers, to their pastrami sandwiches, to their salsa (inside on the counter), and everything in between--the servings are huge! My favorite for breakfast is their pork chops and eggs. Great quality pork chops, and they're always juicy and delicious! We recently found out that they have menudo on the weekends. They will even ask, if you'd like pata in your bowl of delicious yumminess! Even their iced tea is delicious, and I'm an iced tea snob! The owner and staff are ALL super kind! I went with the fish taco special you get 2 tacos loaded with cabbage and tomato with rice & beans on the side. The fish was fried and dark it was either old or fried in dirty oil.
