I can't say enough good things about Bob's! I've gone to several dry cleaners over the years and I have never felt better when I pick up my clothes, or when I take them out of their plastic. I sometimes feel lazy taking in my dress shirts, but when they come back clean, crisp, pressed, and pinned I know they do a job I don't have the time or ability to do. Bob's Cleaners is terrific!!! I've been going there for years. My clothes and draperies always come out looking like new, and the price is reasonable. Laundered sheets are beautifully done. The owner is such a nice man,so pleasant and helpful and will always try to get things done if I'm in a rush, which I always am. The dressmaker has made clothes from scratch for my movies, and altered clothes for me personally and they have always been done skillfully. If only every business was run this well. I still love this guy. I was there last week dropping some stuff on and behind this really unreasonable woman named Ali. Ali was a jerk, being totally condescending to him and insisting that her Japanese couture jacket be cleaned and pressed a certain way. (I've only known them to be absolutely meticulous with my clothes, many of the pieces designer and hand stitching) but jeez lady- chill with the jerk attitude. He was very patient even with her nasty tone. I would have been done with her. What a nice man, and great service! read more

My boyfriend had his clothes dry cleaned here for 15 years prior to us meeting. I'm giving it 2 stars because he didn't have a problem up until recently. Unfortunately, my luck with Bob's wasn't as good. I sent six dresses to Bob's - each one was a beautiful dress we got in Hawaii on our vacation. I hadn't worn any of them even once. When I got them back, one of them was completely destroyed (the gold belt was ruined and there were glue spots all over the dress). In addition, I was given another woman's dress and had to drive back to Bob's to trade it in for my own. Bob refused to offer a refund for the dress he ruined, even though he was asked twice. He insisted on trying to send it to a specialist and having his seamstress work on it. 2-3 weeks later, after calling a couple times, he said he couldn't fix it. I just took it back home. Oh, another of the dresses had an adjustable strap that came back broken, so I'll need to pay somebody else to fix it. We have found a new cleaner, Steamer Cleaners, and so far so good! It was unfortunate that after 15 years of service, the first problem that arose was handled in this way. No refund, no apology. In fact, he blamed me and the dress manufacturer and said he did nothing wrong. Good luck! read more

Avoid at all costs. Do not patronize this place, you will regret it. I had come to Bob a couple of times with laundry and he did an OK job each time. I noticed he had a little bit of an attitude, but I just attributed that to him being grumpy. Then one day I had him wash a suit. And, when I got home there was a large hole in the back of the pant. I took the pants back the next business day, which was a Monday. When I asked him to fix the pants at first he agreed -- then he got increasingly agitated and snapped. He actually threatened me with VIOLENCE. Yes, you did not read that incorrectly. He came out from behind the counter and told me he was going to "beat me" if I did not leave his store. I quickly exited. Do yourself a favor and never patronize this establishment. I will be saving you a not only ruined clothes, but a potential violent encounter. read more

Great cleaning and I highly recommend for cleaning only... but the tailoring leaves much to be desired. I had an alteration and wanted more done to the jacket but she insisted that it was not necessary... I took it home to retry with proper layers and it was as I suspected...still too big around waist. I brought it back with the same concern I left with the day before and the lady was so stubborn and insisted that I was not correct but that she would fix it a little more, but not the way I said...which is fine because I was not pinning it like a tailor should. It was annoying that I had to bring it back to get done the way I wanted to begin with but to be told by the seamstress I would be charged again for what should have been done the first time per a customer's preference is unreasonable. I will pay again because I need it fixed asap, but won't go back for alterations. The owner of the establishment did not charge me again and said he would pay the seamstress himself, which was a kind gesture. read more

Small drycleaner in a mini-mall. (But great location, just across the street from the Mayfair, letting me knock off 2 errands at once.) Not a ton of parking but never a problem when I've gone. Anyway, I used to just take my things to whatever dry cleaner I saw when I could no longer ignore the stack in my car. But, I am now a loyal Bob's customer. They got a red wine stain out of a white dress that sat in my trunk for a month because I was convinced it would be a wasted effort. To my shock, Bob's got the month old wine stain out of my white dress and not in the way some places do by using so many chemicals that there is damage to the fabric. Amazing. On top of that, they are super nice and accomodating. read more

So far, they've done me right. I Brought 2 pairs of shoes that needed to be fixed after the strap broke on one and the shoe entirely separated from the sole on the other and both came back in excellent condition. This is my third attempt at finding a competent, affordable dry cleaner in L.A. So far, I'm happy with the service here. I brought a very heavy weight knit sweater that other cleaners have charged me extra to clean. They've claimed it's actually a jacket. But I was charged a regular sweater cost here. Nice. I also brought white linen pants and two spring weight sweaters. Everything came to $28.50, which I thought was a good price, however Bob only charged me $25 at pickup. I'd asked for a price quote on a simple alteration and he said I'd have to bring the dress in for his tailor to look at before I could get a quote. I said I didn't want to drive all the way there for that. They should have a set price for hems. So he knocked off a few bucks to cover my gas to drive back over there with the dress. He said hemming could cost between $14-20. Not gonna happen. Its a simple sundress that I need shortened. So it seems their tailoring is pricey. I'll go elsewhere for that. I was super busy and could not pick my items up for three weeks. I did not get a call harassing me about them as other cleaners in the area have done. I appreciated that. Lastly, My items were really clean, smelled wonderful and the sweaters had tissue paper folded into them. I love those extra little touches. They also say they don't use nasty chemicals for the cleaning, which is very important to me. I wash my regular laundry in soap nuts and baking soda, so it was nice to find an environmentally friendly dry cleaner. I'll definitely continue to go here. read more

They are clutch in a pinch. My bf and I had MAJOR problems with some alterations we had gotten done at a different shop, and Bob fixed everything...not to mention that he cut my dress off of me because the zipper was broken and they were able to fix it. He even cleaned some gummy stain off of my bf's suit coat for free. read more

I've gone to several dry cleaners & am usually left less than impressed. NOT at Bob's! :) He has been there every time I stop in & always greets me with a familiar smile. There's no disputing he takes pride in what he does & will do everything in his power to make sure he cleans your garments to brand new. Bob's Cleaners is the best dry cleaner in Los Angeles. I had about 20 items dry cleaned. Most were silk and cashmere tops, dresses, jackets and men's suits. They were all perfect. No dry cleaner chemical smell and all of the items were cleaned quickly. Everything looked as if we just bought it at the store. Additionally, the price is very affordable. We were devoted clients of Bob's drycleaning and for a while were very happy with his service. His prices were reasonable, his hours are good, and, most importantly, he's very close to us. If you have enough stuff drycleaned, eventually you're going to have a problem. I took a whole collection of wool sweaters (5) to Bob. I had worn the sweaters just before I took them in, and besides some ``old" wear they were in pretty good shape when I gave them to him. I picked up my order, paid for the sweaters and went home; I left everything in the plastic when I put it away. The next morning, I was looking for a sweater to wear, so I took one out. I discovered a collection of (newly introduced) holes on the chest of the sweater. I thought that was odd and looked through the rest of my sweaters and found similar holes (always on the chest) on three others. I took the sweaters back to Bob the next day, and he simply denied that he had anything to do with the issue. He said: ``those are from moths." I told him that was impossible because when I gave the sweaters to him there were no holes in the chest. Anyway, Bob did not offer to pay for the damage, nor did he offer to refund the price I paid for having my clothes ``cleaned." I did get a long explanation of how nothing he did could possibly have caused my holes. He told me I could get a second opinion, but that doesn't do anything for my sweaters. Oh well. read more

No one else is there except for him, and he knows all of the customers and their clothes. All of my clothes that I have brought have been returned like brand new and he rounds down to the nearest dollar! He is probably the kindest man and I hear that all of the celebrities send their clothes to Bob, which also means they trust their clothes with Bob. This is the worst dry cleaners I have ever been to. They lost two irreplaceable and expensive items of mine. When I started trying to figure out where it could be, the guy who works there started yelling at me out of nowhere when they were responsible for the missing item. (The man's son who works there sometimes is very nice and competent and has done a good job with my clothes, but unfortunately he's not there most of the time.) I unfortunately had a very bad experience at this cleaners. My items were still noticeably stained when I arrived to pick them up. I made an attempt to ask the owner if it would damage the clothes to try to treat them one more time. I was very calm, not upset at all, and just trying to understand. The man who I am presuming is the owner got upset and said, "I DO NOT WANT TO FIGHT WITH YOU". I was totally taken aback but remained calm. It felt like because I am a woman, and a minority, the male owner felt like my honest and simple question was somehow combatitive or out of line. I explained I wasn't upset and was merely trying to understand. As I opened my mouth to ask the question again, he cut me off and said, "TOO MUCH TALKING!" He literally shut me, a paying customer, up. When all I was trying to do was figure out the best solution for my clothes. I'm sad this happened because the location is close to my house and convenient, but I will not be returning. This world is also cruel enough to women of color and I refuse to pay to be subjected to more intolerance. read more

Judging by its size, the store is small... but the service is not. I went over to get some clothes altered and to get some dry cleaning done. Everything was done efficiently and perfectly.
