Bob's Grill is an ocean city icon, the omelettes are excellent, the farmers omelette has everything in it and come out fluffy and quickly, which considering how big this restaurant is, the service is very fast and I was able to get a table for 24 of my family members while we were here having a family reunion, we had four meals here because it's the only location that was able to accommodate us without a reservation and no notice, I also had the lobster roll last night for dinner, and my daughters had the crab cakes, they are in love with the homemade crab cakes and are looking forward to the next time they can have them again, thank you for being part of our family reunion read more

Awful. My omelette was overcooked on the outside and slimy on the inside. Home fries were room temperature, and the coffee had grinds on the bottom. My family all ordered water and it was delivered to us in a pitcher with cheap wax paper cups. Even though the food is crappy, they'll charge you $3.50 to put a single egg on your pancakes. Recently vacationed in Ocean City and decided to eat at Bob's. WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE! There were just two older waitresses working, chewing and snapping gum. She asked if we wanted breakfast or lunch. We decided upon an early lunch. We both ordered bacon cheeseburgers with an order of fries. Each burger was $14.00 .... Are you kidding me!!! We expected awesome burgers for that price. They came out on a tiny paper plate, our fries in a even smaller paper dish. The burgers were awful ... Greasy Greasy Greasy $32.00 later we left and we did not leave a tip. The waitress never came by to refill drinks, ask if we needed anything. I realize we were there technically after season but the place is a God awful waste of hard earned money. Yea .... Sign says seat yourself, waited 5-10 minutes to get a menu which we had to ask for. Got two milkshakes mine tasted pretty average, my boyfriend said his was horrible, but they were literally in a McDonald sized kids small cup. We ordered 1/4lb bacon burgers because the waitress informed us a single patty was the size of pork roll. Our burgers were charred, the thickness of a regular burger, and the bacon was so burnt it just flaked off. I also expected fries since the burger was almost 12 dollars but again was dissapointed. Once upon a time, Bob's Grill was the place to go for a decent breakfast or lunch. That fairy tale is now over. I had breakfast here yesterday with my two children. The server seemed less than enthused at working there after the normal summer crowd days. My daughter is not a big breakfast eater and my son wasn't up to eating a lot. So we just ordered drinks (two milks and one decaf), two eggs and toast for the boy, a plate of home fries for the girl, and Eggs Benedict for me. When we got the food, the protions were of acceptable size, not overflowing but not skimpy. My kids never touched the food (they didn't like the smell ... I thought they were just being difficult) and my food just ok. I ate my food and waited for our check. And waited. And waited. And waited. Finally I got up and walked over to the register. Our server said, "Oh you ready for your check?" I so wanted to say something sarcastic, but I left it at "Yes". The salt on the wound from a dismal breakfast (since the salt was definitely not used for cooking) was getting a bill at nearly $30. That much money for sub-par food and blah service. I'm guessing Bob's has better service during regular season, but I still say the prices are NOT worth it. Take a ride or walk to Wawa before getting food here. Then they tell us they don't accept credit cards and only have a small sign in the building all the way on the other side of the room letting you know that they only accept cash. At the beginning of the summer we spent a week in Ocean City and rented bikes from Bob's. We had a very enjoyable week and even now, as the summer is officially ending, I find myself thinking about that vacation. Of all the people we encountered that week, Joyce really stood out as our favorite. She was so pleasant to deal with and made sure we had the bikes that best suited us! Had breakfast here last day at the beach, everyone was very friendly, nice open view of the beach & boardwalk...however the food wasn't so great, everything had so much grease on it, the fresh squeezed OJ was so watered down. Their food is very good....I am actually surprised at some of these negative reviews! We have always had a very good experience, with quality food and very friendly, attentive staff. Not to mention, the view of the ocean from their open wall entry is always so delightful to look at while dining for breakfast or lunch. Few places give you this type of atmosphere with very good, reasonably priced food! As far as their bike rental business is concerned... We have been coming to Ocean City for many years and renting from this company for most of that time for a reason. Simply put, they make it too easy to be loyal, returning customers! Extremely friendly, courteous staff. Willing to drop what they were doing, regardless, if I was going to rent for the first time that season; or already in the middle of a rental and just had a quick, bike question. When we rent bikes from this company, it's always one of the highlights from our OC trip, not just because of their quality bike collection; but more because they are just such a pleasure to deal with. Bob's is one of my favorite stops in Ocean City! Great people! Bob's has a true "Jersey Shore, Hometown Feel!" We usually stop here for an early morning breakfast when we're in Ocean City. Usually we head over after watching the sunrise. When you come this early, there is usually no other customers in the restaurant so it's very peaceful. When you come for the breakfast rush around 9-9:30, this place is packed. Almost every table is filled and it can be very noisy, especially with all of the kids. It's a really decent cheap breakfast. I really enjoy their homefries. Their omelets can be a little dry, but they're not the worst I've had. I haven't been here for lunch or dinner, so I can't really say how that is. It's a good breakfast place though. read more

The bikes were okay-ish, but the owner is extremely UNfriendly and money driven. We lost one lock, and my wife told them immediately, of course we would pay for it, and she left a note. When our kids brought the bikes back they tried to squeeze out another 5 (!) dollar, and even 'hold' 2 of the kids and told the other to get the extra 5 dollar.... When I showed up, the immediately 'remembered' that my wife was there before and 'found spontaneously' the note which they put at our account.. They were just trying whether they could squeeze some extra bucks out of some kids... 1 star for this business for sure. They won't see us back. read more

From my previous visit at this dump I realized I'd rather buy Tyson nuggets from my local supermarket. It wasn't worth the $20 dollars on three meals I could've spent that money on my dog. I recommend you go to your local Chickies and Pete's they know what's going on. I knew it from the start the place was shady it looked like a hospital cafeteria that has the bad kind of coffee. Place was practically deserted at 5:00 when we went there, my husband, son-in-law, daughter, and two grandsons. Now I know why. Years ago, it was very, very nice. This time, ladies room strewn with paper towels and toilet paper on floor, didn't have toilet paper in the stall I was in. The staff was very nice, but the food was terrible. My salad was not fresh, old lettuce, a hamburger is just that - a very thin frozen patty on a bun, no lettuce, tomato, pickles fries or chips or anything with it, meatball sandwich was small but adequate. Renting bikes/surrey from Bob's Grill brought back wonderful memories from many years ago when I was younger. This time I brought my children and grandchildren and they loved being able to ride on the Boardwalk. Hoping to bring them back again as they grow older. Everyone in the rental area was so helpful selecting the right size bikes for the .children and get us started with a surrey to take the youngest for a ride. I am thinking that the brakes/chains are not checked after a bike is returned as my adult son was riding at 34th street today, the chain slipped and he flipped over the handlebars onto the road. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital. A big shout out to the police and ambulance crew. My son and his friend were very appreciative also to the MANY vacationers who came to his aid. However, I would NOT rent bikes from this establishment. I know you sign when you rent, but there is an unwritten faith that you have that the place checks out the bikes. Very embarrassing... I found out friends that have often visit OC had never had a pork roll sandwich from Bob's Grill. Used to consider this a real morning treat. Got the pork roll sandwiches for all this weekend and was very disappointed. Don't mind paying a premium price for food on the boardwalk, but were served small, stale hamburger buns with the thinnest slice of pork roll I have ever seen. That was it, a stale burger roll and very thin slice of pork roll for a premium price. Bob's used to be a good stop, but now just taking advantage of a good location to empty your pocket. read more

Attempted to eat at Bob's Grill this morning. Two other parties in the restaurant when we arrived. In accordance with the sign at the entrance we seated ourselves. No one on the wait staff made any motion towards serving us even though they were clearly not busy. Another couple came in after us and got prompt service. The other waitress started cleaning tables. Although I did enjoy renting a surrey bike from Bob's and riding around the boardwalk, I went to eat there after previously noted surrey ride to get breakfast with my friends. Breakfast at Bob's has forever tainted my culinary experience at the boardwalk. Allow me to explain. The experience hit me like waves on the beach. Wave One: The waitress came by our table and asked us if we would like anything to drink. We all agreed that we would have water not expecting anything other than your standard, flavorless, and refreshing drink. Boy were we wrong. It is hard to mess up water. This water tasted as if they had gone over to the bay, drained as much water as they could into a tank, transported it back to the restaurant, then filtered it with a piece of cheesecloth, and poured it into our cups. The six of us took our waters and simultaneously sipped on them, following said simultaneous drinking of the liquid, was a universal gag and groan due to the atrocious and disgusting taste of the water. As the horrid aftertaste took over my taste buds I felt a bit of my soul dying inside of me. I am still scarred from this incident alone. Wave Two: As the entire table agreed that the water was quite possibly the worst drink we had all ever had we decided that we would order chocolate milk and Arnold Palmers. Two simple drinks that do not include much water at all and are extremely hard to mess up (as was water.) To quote famous rapper/producer Jay-Z we were "hoping for the best but expecting the worst." Bob's had pulled off and another seemingly impossible task messing up Arnold Palmer and chocolate milk. chocolate milk consisted of skim milk and a scarce amount of Hershey's chocolate syrup and was not mixed at all. The Arnold Palmer was indescribably bad. It had the overpowering taste of lemon pledge with a slight hint of human piss. Gagging and complaining ensued. Wave Three: Our waitress came back and took our orders for food. Most of the table ordered chocolate chip pancakes and eggs with bacon. I ordered strawberry pancakes because screwing up pancakes is near impossible. My 14-year-old brother can even make strawberry pancakes and his IQ is closer to 50 than 100. as you can imagine I was wrong again. Out came the food. Although I did not pay much attention to others orders I do know that my pancakes had a total of six strawberries and what seem to be maraschino cherry juice drizzled on the top of the pancakes. with every bite that I took, bits of my soul died even more. this had to of been the worst breakfast I've ever had in my entire life. Wave Four: The check came as the waitress cleared our plates with lots of food still on them. Everyone had lost hope. As for the check, it read a whopping $97.50. Are you joking Bob's? Did we get punk'd? Who knows. We paid and left the waitress a good tip with hopes that she'd be able to escape the horrible clutches of death (i.e. the God awful environment that we call Bob's). We practically sprinted out of the restaurant with hopes of never returning except for renting a Surrey. I wish that I could rate lower than one star but sadly that is impossible so Bob's congratulations you have received a one out of five in my opinion. and that is only because it is impossible to rate lower than one star.
