I've been to Bob's several times and will say their food is really good and prepared very well. Their glazed carrots are Texas sized for sure both in actual size and flavor. Was there earlier this week and while the salmon was good, I can say I've fixed equally or better on my own grill. But their service is absolutely top notch and excellent. Everyone there is super helpful and attentive. It's laid out very well and has a warm ambience....but now for the downside....it's loud. I mean it's probably one of the loudest restaurants I've been to anywhere and it has been that way every time I go. Not sure you can blame the operator, as the noise comes from the patrons and their discussions....but something about this place leads to that outcome. If you're looking for great service, well prepared food and a warm ambiance this is worth going...but if you want a quiet conversation or have problems hearing people in loud settings, not sure this is the place. read more

I'd give our waiter at Bob's a Five Star. Zac was very attentive even though it was a busy Saturday night. He patiently shared the specials in detail, reviewed their entire beer list for my husband and reviewed some of the wines. The rib eye and wagu steaks were cooked to perfection. He enjoyed himself immensely! The manager came by early on wishing him a happy birthday and making him feel special. It just got better folks! My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Bob's in Grapevine on October 19th 2022. We had the carved 28oz Porterhouse, and it was cooked to perfection (medium rare), Wedge Salad, Mixed Green Salad, Skillet Potatoes, Smashed Potatoes, Sautéed Mushrooms, and Carrot Cake for Dessert. Everything came out perfect, and don't get me started on their Martinis. this restaurant seriously made our 5th anniversary amazing! They put so much effort into making the night memorable! Food was also fantastic! I got the filet mignon and the meat was just so tender! I also loved the outside coating crunch that it had. Can't believe it could have such a crunch with a medium rare filet!! My husband enjoyed his porterhouse to the very last bite. This has been our 2nd visit. Food? Amazing. Service? Amazing! The fact that their management walks around and profiles those sitting at their tables? HORRIBLE! In speaking to the man who identified himself as the General Manager, he is a squirmy looking guy and looks like Arnim Zola, the German doctor from Avengers (he even has the bug eyed coke bottle glasses), he claims he and the other much round manager only visit tables with guests attending "special" occasions, yet half the time they stood there looking at their watches. We had a birthday party this weekend with a reservation for 12. We needed 13 so I called to ask on Saturday morning! They were closed but Bianca answered and was so sweet. She said, I don't think we can do a table for 13 but let me call the maître d' Haylee. She called back in 10 minutes and told me Haylee had worked it out! That was so appreciated! Came to Bob's last weekend with the boyfriend's family and had a great experience! It was my first time here so I came in with a pretty open mind. It was a snug but classy restaurant environment with what I believe was a cigar bar towards the back (fyi for smoke sensitive people!). Service: The service was attentive and helpful with every aspect of the meal. They provided good recommendations as well as great hospitality for the entire duration of our meal. Food: We ordered the jumbo shrimp cocktail and lobster bisque for our appetizers. The shrimp cocktail was almost 5 stars had they not smothered the shrimp in so much of the cocktail sauce. The sauce had an extremely strong kick to it that would have been much better off in its own container rather than dumped and smeared on the shrimp for us. The lobster bisque was amazing and had chunks of lobster in it. Great seasoning and taste. No complaints on that. For my entree I ordered the New York strip steak cooked medium. It was cooked perfectly and tasted excellent/fresh. You could tell the meat was really high quality (even good as leftovers 2 days after :) ). For dessert we ordered the creme brulee, which was another hit. Fresh berries topped on a not-too-sweet creme brulee dessert. Perfect way to end the steak meal. read more

However, once we received the bottle, the service started to go downhill. It was a good 5-10 minutes before a different waiter came by and asked if anyone had taken our order yet. He was polite and helpful and took our order. At this point it was getting crowded. A large party if businessmen were sat at a table just to my left and we were all but forgotten. The water was constantly filled but we really felt like we were not valued once the big ticket tables came in. It was halfway through our meal before we even saw our original server and it was only for a moment. Then we sat waiting for 20 minutes for her to box our leftovers. This may be a chain but it still has high fine dining food. The service is different at first because the servers clean the table crumbs off and swap out any lightly used cutlery often but i adapted. Order "off the menu" for the most surprising high end quality items and be prepared to spend $$$. Its worth it once in awhile. The portions are huge here, was in town for a work dinner and they had a great selection of meats. Sides were ok, but the service, drinks and variety of large cuts of meats were excellent. They handled the large group of us well, and the wine list was deep and reasonable. Overall there are many steak houses to chose from in this area, but this has always been consistent and a pleasant experience. The large tomahawks are a friend fav, and the carrots are odd but a healthy addition. They have a valet, and the bar can get cramped while waiting for seating. Bacon is ok, scallops and shrimp are really good too, and i loved my rack of lamb. Onion rings are worth a try, but not a fan of the bisque. read more

I came to Bob's in Grapevine for a client dinner and sat in one of their private rooms. Our group was 13 strong. First, the service for the entire night was impeccable. Just like my first Bob's experience in their Plano location I was attended to for the entire night and never felt like I had to flag my server. The server for our mean explained the menu clearly and made some great food/wine suggestions. Second, the food was great. We ordered nearly every appetizer on the menu with the highlights being their bacon wrapped shrimp and scallops and crab cakes. Our grouped loved them so much we ordered second servings. For the entree many people ordered steak, whether the filet or bone in ribeye. I ordered the wagyu beef bone in ribeye steak that came with a giant carrot and baked potato. No exaggeration but as soon as the server placed my steak in front of me everyone at the table "Oooooo'ed and WHOA'ed." The picture I shared doesn't do justice to this beast. The steak was cooked perfectly and juicy. We also ordered mac and cheese and mushrooms as sides which were good. Third, dessert. Ahhh! Everyone was so but we persevered onward for dessert. Bread pudding with ice cream (excellent), creme brulee, carrot cake, chocolate cake and key lime pie were brought out. My favorites were the bread pudding and the key lime pie. Our dinner reservation was on Tuesday at 6pm. Upon arrival the place was empty. By the time it was 7pm the entire place was full with 95% male patrons. Self parking was a challenge when we arrived at 6pm so we were forced to valet. There are a number of other restaurants that share parking with Bob's that bring a lot of customers to the area. I have been to nearly all The Bob's locations. Still haven't hit the Lemmon Ave, Dallas location. Every location has the same consistency so you can't go wrong at any of them. The Grapevine locay has the awesome cigar lounge with comfy chairs, fireplace, and great bar service. Bob's bone-in Rib Eye is still my gold bar standard. I have been to many a upscale steak house, not just in DFW area, but in other states as well. Bob's is my GO TO place when I want that perfect, buttery, juicy, just the right amount of char, Rib Eye! Every bite, from the Cap to the eye, is tender and juicy! The sides are wonderful and we always get the Mac n Cheese and asparagus. The meal comes with the famous, huge, glazed carrot. Love Love the carrot! Also choice of potato and that's a sweet potato for me. I think their signature dessert is the Layered Carrot Cake. I've tried other's carrot cakes and Bob's wins this one. You'll notice on every table is a jar of pickles and peppers. Bob's mom always had this on the table growing up and he honors his mom with this gesture. Yes, you can eat them, but most people don't. I did try a pickle once and it was home made for sure! When you don't want to venture out and try a new hoity toity trendy place and just want a memorable steak, good ambience, great service, and awesome value.... it's 100% Bob's! read more

We decided to stop here on the way home, in celebration of our 3rd wedding anniversary. I called ahead and was assured that jeans were welcome - and I saw no one in anything more formal than that, btw. No appetizer, as the bread was HUGE and very good. Room temperature butter, which is always nice - hate when the butter is cold and non-pliable. They have a crock in the center of the table w/tongs - the waitress explained that when Bob was growing up, he had some certain kind of pickles, so he brought that with him to his restaurants. They were pretty large, very much a cucumber taste, and a little flavor, but not especially dill....hubby and I ate 1/2 a pickle between the two of us. I started with a house salad, with 1000 island dressing (not the best, not the worst, but pretty big) and hubby got the Caesar Salad with real anchovies - tasty and delish and the anchovies were whole, so I didn't have to have one! I ordered the 9oz Filet Mignon, side of Bernaise Sauce and the signature fried potatoes. My steak was cooked perfectly, medium rare, and it came with the signature big carrot - I have NO idea why you get this, but it was tasty and uh, big! The side of Bernaise sauce was the usual, in a little sauce boat, nothing to compare to the amazing Bernaise at Lonesome Dove - that defies description. Hubby ordered the Tomahawk, described by our waitress as the best bone-in Ribeye with a big bone - the Fred Flinstone steak. Sure enough, she was right! His steak came on a plate by itself and his big carrot and potatoes occupied another. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare and he made it through probably half! I ordered the creamed corn, which was ALMOST (but not quite) on par with III Forks and hubby got the macaroni and cheese - it was truffled, so I didn't like it. Don't really care for the smoky, dirty taste of truffles. I had coffee, which was very good (and refilled appropriately) and for dessert, we ordered a key lime pie to go. Our waitress picked up the tab on the pie in honor of our 3rd anniversary. Overall, a very good dining experience. 4-star food without being stuff, overpriced or pretentious. Beautiful, traditional upscale steak house. Bob's has a formal, yet comfortable atmosphere. Attractive with dark walls and dim lighting. The only detractor was the moderate noise level (this place gets busy!), but our group of four was still able to converse comfortably. Our server was so friendly and knowledgeable about the specials, appetizers and the wine list and he added to the overall good vibe of this place (sorry I cannot remember his name!).He was prompt an efficient. Our water glasses were kept full which I fully appreciate. In the center of the table, there is a large glass jar full of pickles that diners can help themselves to. The pickles were delicious and though they seemed random, I thought a nice touch. My steak was cooked to the exact temperature and was perfection. Steaks come with choice of potato which includes choice of baked potato, smashed potatoes or skillet fried potatoes topped with sautéed onions and peppercorn gravy. I chose the baked potato (though, the skillet friend sounded divine). A sever comes by with the butter, sour cream , chives and cheese and adds the toppings to your liking. The steak dinners also come with a glazed carrot (huge!) which had a nice flavor, though seemed unusual(kind of like the pickles, but quirky is fun). I was impressed with Bob's for a number of reasons: 1) Waitstaff was very attentive without being overbearing. 2) The steak was amazing. Bone in Prime Filet Mignon. Enough said. 3) The creamed spinach is what dreams are made of. I am not usually a fan but whatever magic they do, they need to keep doing! I would come back simply for that. So why not 5*? I thought the appetizers were lacking. Both their shrimp platter and country fried lobster were lacking in seasoning and rather dull.
