Awesome burritos! I would only ask to not get the crema inside it because I don't like sour cream like stuff. The meat was good and the burrito was heavy and full! I would ask for more onions and cilantro with salsa. I like the that they throw cabbage for the crunch. It was also fairly priced at 7 bucks for a big burrito. This meat is hard and old. I cannot chew easily. I wanted to like this place because a friend of mine recommended but it's a place that just loads your taco with cheese. The burros suck here too. I tried the tacos and an asada taco is pretty much a good tester to start off before you try alpastor, lengua etc. Im not sure but the meat was greasy and bland? Maybe it was not a good day for the cook??? I am told the place is great. I would have to revisit, but I did not like the food. great place for lunch. the tacos with everything were great. They had chopped cabbage, red sauce, green sauce, guacamole, sour cream and topped with freshly shaven jack cheese. The beef tongue was super tender but the carnitas was so so (didn't really have that slight char crispiness i was looking for). At $2 a piece, they load up on everything so 2 tacos would get you full. Taste-wise, it's on point but not to the point of crave worthy. Good joint for tacos. I come here when I'm in Covina. Definitely not your average tacos these have cabbage and mozzarella cheese and they're loaded with it so it's really filling. Have tried all the meats and they're loaded with flavor. Red sauce is hot! So get a cold drink to go with your order. read more

This Boca is just as good aas the one in La Puente. Big burritos and tacos with lot's and lot's of cheese. It is so easy and fun to pig out here. Love my asada tacos and burritos. The bean burritos are real good too. You just can't go wrong at Boca Del Rio. They only have outside seating and the tables are not the cleanest. Oh and not restrooms. Just like LP. read more

My friend and I met up for lunch. There are 2 windows. 1 to order and the other to pay. You have choices to order tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and nachos. The meat choices are on the window. Sign on the window says they open at 10am. We arrived at 10:10, ready to order, when the man working on the grill said they weren't opened. He proceeded to say they opened at 10:30. My husband pointed out that their sign says 10am.... he said "well we don't, we open at 10:30." In a very rude manner. We would have been ok if he said said " sorry we are running late" etc but to just be flat out rude when your sign says 10am is poor business management. The food is really good. These guys actually know how to cook one of my favorite meats, cow tongue. Mmmm. I was hesitant about trying out their meat since allot of places don't even know how to cook it right but I said what the heck, let me get a burrito de lengua. To my surprise it was delicious. And PACKED with meat and the rest of the toppings. These guys don't skimp you out on the goods. Reason I give it three stars is because the service really needs a facelift, like literally. I have been going to the taco del rio's Since they first opened on Azusa avenue and Vincent/Glendora avenue. I don't live close To those places for many years now. I have been going to the place on Arrow in Covina. Unfortunately I try not to go there as much....do to the unfriendly/rude workers who has been for more than two years now I lost track. The cook gives you an unwelcoming stare and ask "what do you want" the older Mexican man. And then the cashier younger Mexican lady follows his bad behavior and doesn't say thank you and gives you that unwelcoming look. I am always courteous to them. I am so tired of their bad behavior I have never seen an establishment with employees with such BAD customer service. I am not Mexican, so they might be racial due to the owners not being Mexican. I am an Asian mix. I really don't know why they act so ignorant. I would like to talk to the owners cause I believe the business would do better If they hired people with manners and better customer service. I won't refer anyone to this place until they get employees with acceptable behavior and with manners! read more

This place has some of the best tacos I've ever eaten. I have been coming to this taco place since 1994 and some of the taqueros are still the same. The place is not a nice place, you eat out on some tables they have on the sidewalk but the food is THE BEST, even my 7 and 4 year old daughters love it. Move over Albertos! Like all the positive reviews state, the meat here is not greasy or oily. They totally hook you up on the meat and toppings. I don't understand the comparisons to Chipotle though.. It's like comparing Panda Express to a strip mall Chinese food place. This is a taco stand, were you might literally stand and eat your burrito not some Americanized Eco friendly hormone free hipster establishment. Anyway, the only reason I couldn't give them 5 stars is because they don't have radishes or pickled carrots and chilies that to me are essential with taco stand tacos. Solid taco place. So much food for very cheap. Perfect lunch place because it is also quick and delicious. It's faster than the taco truck down the street. The food is not as good as the taco truck but it's about the same value. Tacos are more expensive here but you get more in a taco. I usually spend $5 for two tacos super (which is meat with guac, cheese, and salsa) and a horchata and that is the perfect amount for me.
