Between 3 and 3.5 stars for me. Came two weeks ago on a beautiful Saturday night. Sat outside which has a nice view of boats and...Bridgeport Ampitheater. Rob Thomas was playing there that evening! lol holy flashbacks. Started with the Caesar salad and initially we said side salad so our waiter must have put that through but then we quickly changed it to the main Caesar so we could share it. I also ordered the Lobster ravioli and the man got the salmon. A few minutes go by and out comes the side Caesar salad from a food runner. Place was packed so they have food runners and bussers here. We then had to find our waiter to tell him he/they messed up. About ten minutes later the main Caesar comes, we are finally enjoying that and out come our hot entrees about a minute later. I HATE when entrees come while you are still eating your appetizers/salads or not even done with your drink. This is a sign of poor service/communication with the kitchen or just an incredibly overbooked restaurant and therefore; service suffers. Entrees-the Lobster ravioli came with ONE ravioli (Pictured). A lot of seafood comes with this dish which was very delicious and I was hungry so I ate 99% of it and then our server came over to ask how it was so I told him it was good but it only had one ravioli. It was more like a cioppino dish than a ravioli dish. He was so nice and said I'm going to send out another dish with more ravioli. I was pretty full so I didn't need more food, but I gladly took it home as it was very tasty. Man said the salmon was ok. Not the best. We then stayed for the band and they were phenomenal. They kept the sound under control so it wasn't blasting with customers having dinner. We decided to go over there after dinner and hang out. I will say the space for bands is very small. It's in the corner and there are tables awkwardly around the band and really no place to stand and watch the band unless you're around the corner. Strange setup but we had a blast. Food very tasty but I have to say I agree with the low ratings on this place because a lot of mishaps occurred. read more

I stopped here around early afternoon on 7 May while charging my car on a drive from Newport to DC. I thought I would have lunch while my car charged. First impression, there was someone smoking weed in the parking lot. Fine if that's what they want to do, but not the place for it. I walked in the restaurant, stood by the "wait to be seated" sign for a few minutes, then decided to go to the bathroom. Came out, waited again for about 10 minutes, bartender saw me and just turned his back. So, obviously, this place is not for me. read more

We absolutely love Boca. Any time we see a show in Bridgeport we go there for dinner. We've done brunch too. The only reason for 4 stars be 5 is often times the servers Dem annoyed to be there and having to work. But we always keep going back. The view and outdoor area is a huge bonus too read more

This restaurant is a really nice place with good food. First and foremost the ambience is very modern without feeling stuffy. Service is prompt and kind. Calamari was quite fresh, and the balsamic reduction was a different take on it, which I enjoyed. Lobster ravioli was delicious from the Rose tomato sauce which had the right amount of creaminess. I really like that they lobster ravioli had good clumps of lobster. they were not stingy with the lobster meat. Top it off with a dark and stormy cocktail, and I was good to go. The food was delicious. Apps the bacon and lobster bisque was so good. For meal we had pasta, ribeye (big as my head), poke salad. The brownie sundae was amazing and our friends loved the beignets. Food is great! I was a little nervous because of previous reviews, but it looks like the restaurant has really stepped up its game. I came here with some dear friends upon their recommendation and we really enjoyed ourselves here! Views are great, but can get very sunny. I kind of wish there was fans or more umbrellas to help us avoid so much sun, but I can't really control that. Still worth sitting outside - love seeing the boats and ferry sailing around. Food is was better than expected. I wish I had taken more pictures. My friend got chicken and waffles, and it was nothing like the previous pictures! Great! Wanted to give it another chance so came back on Father's Day since it's kind of an excuse to overspend. Was actually way worse than my other bad experience holy moly. We had a few apps like clams, tomato caprese (said heirloom tomatoes but they were just grocery store plain tomatoes) and calamari and then a variety of entrees like fish tacos, lobster roll, chicken Milanese and a steak sandwich. Food was blah. Calamari we got with cherry peppers and there was maybe 1 or two tiny pieces of cherry pepper. Steak sandwich didn't have any sauce that it said it would have and like last time the steak was overcooked. Our meals took years to arrive, like over an hour and a half or even longer. Same goes for nearly every surrounding table! Everyone looked so upset and even looked upset when they got their food too. Service so incredibly slow they should be embarrassed. Went to celebrate a birthday. Reservations are a must even during week. The water is gorgeous with seating outside. The service is subpar had to flag down server not even our own more than once. We originally ordered nachos to be told they were no longer able to make nachos at 630 at night which seemed odd. At 7pm nachos were coming back out and all our server could do was apologize. We had the calamari - we was drowning in Gorgonzola cheese and balsamic dressing rather than the spicy peppers it was supposedly cooked with, also tried the octopus appetizer which was nice and tender and had three nice size pieces as we had three in our party. For main dishes one friend had the lobster roll which was good but only a decent size (like a small hot dog) and the fries came in a cute basket, another friend had the friend shrimp which were huge and tasted great along w the fries, I had the mixed seafood pasta in red sauce which was very good and the pasta was al dente. The star of the show was the sweets. We had the beignets that were filled with canoli cream and the crème brûlée which were both out of this world. Sea Risotto is delicious !! The portion is adequate for its price, the texture of the risotto is soft, the roll was very good only that the sauce is a little spicy but bearable, for dessert the cream bulle was delicious, I loved it. Not really sure what they are trying for with this restaurant. It's ok. It's somewhat expensive, but has regular priced items as well. We went on a Tuesday and it was empty. Disturbingly empty. We were one of 5 tables occupied in a 20 table section with a whole other section blocked off and a huge bar area that was empty. First impression entering the bar was "is it open?" The bar itself is pretty chic, seems fancy, big. But no beer on tap. We ordered cocktails, which were good, though a bit on the pricey side. We ordered some oysters which were also good, but they only had 3 types and I had thought they were an oyster bar. I guess I was wrong. The apps and mains were ok. Just ok. Typical Sysco type food. We stuck to the handhelds, given we had already spent $28 on 6 oysters and another $20 on an app. Service was really good, and it should be given the staff to table ratio. The busboy was constantly bringing water over. The food for the table next to us came out so fast that they had to send it back. This reinforces that it's Sysco products in my mind, already prepared and just fried or reheated. Maybe not. But the service was really 5 star, the only above average grade I'd give. What bothered us the most really was the ambiance. It's stark. Boring. And maybe when it's full it doesn't seem that way. It was dark out so we didn't get to enjoy the harbor view. The bar was modern, nicely laid out and could be popular in any major city, the seating area was dull and barely nautical themed given it's a marina. We just couldn't figure out if they are appealing to the wealthy with $40+ entrees and a chic bar, or locals with reasonable priced hand helds and boring seating area. We were hoping it gets more crowded in the summer and that the new residences would help this resolve itself. Otherwise it seemed like a dying restaurant. They did play reggae though. I came to boca oyster bar with a group of six. We made a reservation for brunch on a sunday. The place was not too crowded. And the service was very good. We ordered a variety of food and everyone enjoyed their dish. The highlight of the meal was the dessert. The beignets were incredible. The overall price was very reasonable. The only thing we did not order was oysters, funny enough. There's plenty of parking. There's also a lovely view of the harbor. Would eat here again! read more

This place is average at best. Was hoping for great seafood but had poor service and our food took forever, then came out cold. We had the stuffed sole filet and the lobster roll. Spoke with the manager who had our food re-made and they took our 2 beers off the bill. Honestly even when the food came out hot the 2nd time it was only average -- not what you would expect from a dedicated seafood restaurant. View is amazing ! Food on the other hand was disappointing! Wings were delicious! My salmon was overcooked( and I specified cooked light when I ordered ) and dried out and very fishy tasting ! I got the salmon teriyaki it came with what said Vegetable rice but it was plain white rice with some teriyaki on it and I asked for mushrooms instead of bok choy , those were good! The steak sandwich and mash potatoes were pretty good. Chicken Milanese was very dried out also! The side salad for 7.00 was small and lacking enough dressing. Tables outside were ok tho chairs a little hard but the water view made up for it. Desserts were the best part crème brule and apple crisp were great! Service was great also , our waiter comped me 10.00 because of the overcooked salmon which was nice as the meal was originally 39.00 and was by no means worth it! Medium size party, fantastic view, Best server service we've had in years. We had clams in the half shell, octopus, calamari and lobster bisque, they were all delicious. We also had steak tips, Ciopinni, salmon, Boca Burger, clams casino, goat cheese salad, crab cakes and lamb lollipops. W the exception of the burger the food was amazing. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed and complimented the food. Sadly the guest of honor had the burger. We ordered it "medium , no pink and no char". It was FARRRR overcooked and dry, not only was the meat beyond seared /charred it was burnt. Even the bun was over charred... and we specifically asked for "No char" It was unfortunate. The Desserts were amazing and coffee/espresso were perfect Sangria and drinks were sooo good Highly recommend So wish the burger was Better. They had two bites and it sat. This restaurant is large with adequate indoor dining and outdoor options. We decided to try their boca burger with bacon and cheddar cheese, added jalapenos. The burger was huge, delicious and amazing. Sadly, we substituted a side salad for fries which were slimy. We took it home to eat as a dinner snack and discovered it, so gross. Tossed in trash. The restaurant is beautiful, the hostess listened to our request to be on the water with shade and Anthony, who has waited on us previously, was as usual awesome. One really strange note is the bathroom has toddler sized toilets, so if you are handicapped like me, beyond a challenge. I hate posting a negative but if you are handicapped, please go before you visit Boca. Otherwise five stars and ask for Anthony, amazing server. read more

Never being in Bridgeport before . I had a specialist appointment at St, Vincent Hospital, I took my feirnd out of gratitude to this restrauant . The staff was wonderful , tentitive , the hostess great. BUT the lobster salad was to say the least horrible. The bacon was like shoe leather chopped , the lobster in a ball tough and dry ball I was disgusted total bill w/o drinks & tip almost 80,00 dollars. Neither of us finished this horrible salad . FOOD: We ordered a selection of raw Oysters, both Atlantic and Pacific along with some raw clams and some jumbo shrimp. First of all the oysters were both very expensive $4 and $5 respectively, The Atlantic ones were good sized and tasty while the Pacific ones were tasteless and literally the size of a quarter or less? never again! SERVICE: I am beginning to see a trend were waiters and waitresses are being hired that do not know how to do their jobs. Our waitress could not tell us whether or not the restaurant sold clams on the half shell? (what) I mentioned to her she should walk back inside and take a look at the huge ice display case we passed on our way outside, that displayed large shrimp, oysters and yes, clams!!! Also, she could not tell us the difference between Atlantic and Pacific oysters? then when a different server came out to deliver our seafood, he did not speak English and could not tell us which oysters were which. I use a lot of restaurants in the lower Fairfield and new haven area and have never ever been offered a bill with 2 totals , a lesser amount for cash and an additional charge for using a card . I'm not a fan of local breweries beer but that was the only choice. The food is over priced and was obviously prepared at an earlier time and then reheated, the fried shrimp was smothered in batter and dry and the bok choy was a green slime and inedible with my Tuna . Very disappointed with this restaurant and will not be back. read more

We came in last night on a double date with friends. Drinks, food, and service for dinner was amazing. Our oysters were so fresh. My surf and turf was delicious and my steak cooked just right. We finished up with warm, yummy, crispy raspberry filled beignets. Despite being busy with larger tables our service was great and efficient. As we were walking out we decided to have a drink at the bar. The bartender (blue shirt & arm tats) had such an unfriendly demeanor. He was visibly annoyed to serve us. Very negative and unprofessional. We didn't let his rude attitude ruin our good time! We will be back to try some more delicious items from the menu. read more

We went here for a birthday celebration and had a great time! There's a couple of pros and cons about this place. Pros: Gorgeous waterfront view! My swordfish was excellent! It has great acidity and savoriness! The nachos and calamari were great appetizers as well! Cons: Weird choice of music for the setting, they were playing heavy metal. Some of my other guests thought their food was bland including the blackened chicken. Drinks are expensive, I got the Skinny B which is basically vodka and lemonade which costs 15$. Overall it seems like their menu is pretty hit or miss, but I really enjoyed my blackened swordfish steak! read more

One couple got their dinner 15 minutes later, the waiters came back 3 times before they had the correct order! Very good but there was certainly room for improvement. 10 of us went out for a friend's 40th bday. The ambiance was nice...definitely a summer vibes kind of spot with a big beautiful deck overlooking the Bridgeport harbor. Menu had a good variety. We split a bunch of appetizers (bacon, octopus, and calamari) and I had a lobster roll with a side salad for dinner. I've had lobster rolls that were both much smaller and larger at various places. This one was medium sized but it was fresh and tasted great. The side salad was dressed well, but not swimming in it either. Drinks were good, but I had a couple bourbons and the pours were inconsistent. One was fairly generous, and the next was a little on the light side. Overall, it worked out to be about two average pours, but just be weary of that if you're just getting one. I guess my biggest complaint was just the timing of the food. We ordered appetizers for the table, which came out lightning quick, and before our server came back to take our dinner orders. So we had to sit and eat our apps while awkwardly handling our menus or using them as placemats. Our server was very nice, but just wished the timing was a little better. Loved sitting under the deck to have the inside outside feel! Great view of the dock, boats and water. So nice to have a musician playing the guitar and singing. The food was absolutely delicious! I recommend the lobster ravioli. Service was also great. I will be back! read more

Boca was definitely a great place to dine. It's by the water and there is plenty of seating outside. It was very relaxing and the food was delicious. My friend and I ordered nachos and chicken wings. The nachos were fresh with fresh sauces that came with it. The chicken wings were very crispy and we almost ordered another order of wings. The service was great and the waitress was very attentive. We used this place for our family dinner at summer and enjoyed so much. So we thought we tried again today. We ordered a glass of wine with appetizers. It was ok until dinner comes out. My husband ordered "Ahi tuna dinner ", Ahi tuna was fine but "Lomen" was awful, taste bad, half cooked. I ordered "Seafood risotto ", cooked too much and seafoods were overcooked, tomato sauce were too salty and thick, that killed seafood taste. Both $40 dinners and it wasn't even price worthy. First time here and wow what a gorgeous restaurant- doesn't feel like you're in Bridgeport (no offense). Good wine selection, good service. Good menu options. We tried the seared tuna app which was very good, and split the bbq shrimp tacos- those were ok but wouldn't get again. We both got like lobster Cobb salad (one with bacon, one without) and it was fine- large portion but for the price kinda a bit boring. My friend didn't love the bacon in hers, it was big chunks vs pieces of crispy bacon that she was expecting (looked more like kielbasa). The view was so peaceful and somehow quiet for being right next to the highway. Next time I want to try the oysters and lobster roll. Might not have loved all my food choices but I enjoyed the experience and would love to go back this summer. read more

It has a beautiful view with both indoor and outdoor seatings. Unfortunately our whole experience was greeted with a very unpleasant service. The waiter never smiled and seem to be bothered when we asked for refills. Maybe he was having a bad day but that was all we have to go by. Some food items were a hit and some were not so good. Lamb lollipops- these were delicious and perfectly cooked. Nachos with chicken- it was a enormous portion with layers of ingredients- our complaints were the cheese in the layers were not melted. The top was melted but not in the layers. The Grilled Octopus was not the best. We did not enjoy the cook on the octopus. The filet tips was delicious and perfectly cooked. We came a bit early and were informed that they do not do happy hour which was dissapointing, but we still enjoyed excellent drinks. The cocktail menu is huge!! I'd recommend the watermelon cosmo. To start, we shared calabrian chili oysters and stuffed clams. We also got a cesar salad. The salad didn't have much dressing but was tasty. My entree was the cioppino. AMAZING! I was so happy with my dish. It was a ton of seafood and a great portion for a great price. The only thing that was dissapointing was the service. Our waitress barely came over, ignored eye contact, and seemed extremely spacey... almost as if she was under the influence of something which was very dissapointing. We ended up having to ask other staff for items like parmesean cheese and for our check at the end. Other than the poor service, we really enjoyed Boca.
