As a fellow Bronx business owner and an extensive traveler, I can truly say I have never experienced such prejudice and discriminatory service in my entire life. You expect such service from yt establishments as a person of color, but not from "your own people." Myself and my friend, who a black male, literally waited for an hr and half to be seated a two person table. We arrived, told the wait for a two person table was 40 minutes. We obliged; I am a pretty patient person and we were pretty hungry. As 40 minutes approached, and as we had patiently watched parties of 2 or more arrive AFTER us and get seated, we, inquired as to why we were still waiting. We were told by the hostess, Yody, that "we were next." After another 10-15 minutes, we were told the wait is so long because we are only a party of two and they had only seats for 4. Mind you, this is during the COVID pandemic, and we are supposed to be social distancing anyway, so breaking a table for 4 into 2 socially distanced would have been simple and law-obliging. My friend and I then proceeded to grab 2 other patrons (female) behind us in the line to complete a "party of 4." I notified the hostess and the bouncer that we now had a party of 4, confident that now this should speed up the process. Another 20 minutes passed by, and my friend then noticed that the two patrons that were going to be in our party of 4, had been personally seated by the bouncer at a table for 2! They had arrived more than 30 minutes after us! The entire time, conversations between the bouncers and hostess took place- all in Spanish. My friend and I present as black males, but my friend is actually Bilingual and a part of the Latinx community- unbeknownst to them. They were now surprised (and embarrassed) when my incredibly patient friend, finally spoke up (in Spanish) in obvious annoyance that the two women were seated before us AND that there was still an open two person table in plain sight that we STILL had not been seated at - it had been atleast 1hr and 20 minutes by now. The bouncer, his ego now bruised, reacted defensively, trying to pass blame on US for why we had not been seated. He aggressively approached us both, placing his hands in our face and approaching us. We did not budge, of course, but his threatening behavior was very aggressive and I am sure he would not have reacted this way if we were white males or attractive females. The hostess now realizing, their very prejudice mistake, tried to make amends and hurry us to a table (the same table for 2 that had been open for the past 30 minutes). It wasn't until a second, more sensible bouncer approached us, the bouncer and hostess, in the middle of the confrontation that we were guided to our seats and treated like decent human beings. I have the confrontation on video and anyone can clearly see how aggressive his body language was. This incident, Im sure is not the first, and I've read other Yelp reviews from people who look like me with similar experiences. As a business owner, I know confidently that this IS NOT how you run a business, as a human being, I know this is NOT how you treat other people and as a Black person in the midst of the #BLM movement, I am highly disappointed and dissatisfied that we are still facing prejudice from the Latinx community that faces just as much racism and prejudice as we do in America. Do not support this business if you are a Black American or a Latinx, who is against racism and prejudice. If you truly stand with equality in our world, then you must stand on ALL ends, not just when we are talking about racism from White America. Boca does not respect Black People, and they do not deserve our hard earned dollars. As a business owner, I will vow to never work with this vendor, not until there are MAJOR changes to their standards and customer service. I will be reaching out to management; and if necessary filing a state mandated consumer complaint. read more

So let me just start off by saying the service is OUTSTANDING!!! Emilio definitely has the skills it takes to give amazing service. Not only was he very attentive he was personable and really focused on our needs as guest, management is really do a great job training the staff. Also Miguel the hooka guy was superior, he made sure we had our refills on hookah and kept checking on us to make sure we were good, I can't explain how special he made me And my friend feel during our visit. Lastly the bartender Luis and the busboy Christian did an amazing job with the drinks and checking on us, I feel honored to be here. I usually complain but I have to give credit where it's due. Your staff is 100% please keep these people here running you're business because they are assess to the brand and company. I am so glad this bar is open during covid 19!!!!! This is a fun place to come. They fallow social Distance guidelines. I was never in close proximity to another person. There are also great staff members that I would love to give a shout out to them being Jessenia was amazing she made sure that we were taking care off. She got us the table We wanted and she was attentive to our dietary needs. I'm in a keto diet, so she made sure to change the many to take care of our needs to my needs. Excellent food, and great service. The menu is perfect something for everyone. I had the best grilled octopus very flavorful crispy yet tender. And for dinner I had a filet mignon cooked to perfection with a mushroom sauce to die for. I enjoyed every bite even the presentation of the plate was beautiful. The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. I highly recommend Boca Restuarant. I have to say best ambiance in the bronx area. This is the first time I come to this place. I came with my wife and her family to celebrate her Mom's birthday. The place is outstanding! We are still here and we only came for a couple of hours. The food is amazing and the service is unmatched. Raysa was our waitress and she went above and beyond to make sure that we were having fun and enjoying everything! The best spot in the Bronx for sure. It was taken over and transformed. Decor and ambiance is laid back and inviting. I'm such a foodyyyy and the food here is very well presented and delicious and forget it the DRINKS ARE TO PERFECTION. I had a passion fruit mojito BUT coconut was my favorite! I recently went to Boca Lounge for a nice dinner , I paid with a card & my Bill was 112$. When I left the restaurant my bank account confirmed the 112$ payment however, the next morning I noticed I was over charged 23$. I reached out to them and they said they would look into it.
